1. ദൈവം നോഹയെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ പെട്ടകത്തില് ഉള്ള സകല ജീവികളെയും സകലമൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഔര്ത്തു; ദൈവം ഭൂമിമേല് ഒരു കാറ്റു അടിപ്പിച്ചു; വെള്ളം നിലെച്ചു.

1. God did not forget about Noah and the animals with him in the boat. So God made a wind blow, and the water started going down.

2. ആഴിയുടെ ഉറവുകളും ആകാശത്തിന്റെ കിളിവാതിലുകളും അടഞ്ഞു; ആകാശത്തുനിന്നുള്ള മഴയും നിന്നു.

2. God stopped up the places where the water had been gushing out from under the earth. He also closed up the sky, and the rain stopped.

3. വെള്ളം ഇടവിടാതെ ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; നൂറ്റമ്പതു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങി.

3. For one hundred fifty days the water slowly went down.

4. ഏഴാം മാസം പതിനേഴാം തിയ്യതി പെട്ടകം അരരാത്ത് പര്വ്വതത്തില് ഉറെച്ചു.

4. Then on the seventeenth day of the seventh month of the year, the boat came to rest somewhere in the Ararat mountains.

5. പത്താം മാസം വരെ വെള്ളം ഇടവിടാതെ കുറഞ്ഞു; പത്താം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി പര്വ്വതശിഖരങ്ങള് കാണായി.

5. The water kept going down, and the mountain tops could be seen on the first day of the tenth month.

6. നാല്പതു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം നോഹ താന് പെട്ടകത്തിന്നു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന കിളിവാതില് തുറന്നു.

6. Forty days later Noah opened a window to send out a raven, but it kept flying around until the water had dried up.

7. അവന് ഒരു മലങ്കാക്കയെ പുറത്തു വിട്ടു; അതു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഭൂമിയില് വെള്ളം വറ്റിപ്പോയതു വരെ പോയും വന്നും കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

8. ഭൂമിയില് വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞുവോ എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് ഒരു പ്രാവിനെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു പുറത്തു വിട്ടു.

8. Noah wanted to find out if the water had gone down, and he sent out a dove.

9. എന്നാല് സര്വ്വഭൂമിയിലും വെള്ളം കിടക്കകൊണ്ടു പ്രാവു കാല് വെപ്പാന് സ്ഥലം കാണാതെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് പെട്ടകത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു; അവന് കൈനീട്ടി അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു തന്റെ അടുക്കല് പെട്ടകത്തില് ആക്കി.

9. Deep water was still everywhere, and the dove could not find a place to land. So it flew back to the boat. Noah held out his hand and helped it back in.

10. ഏഴു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് വീണ്ടും ആ പ്രാവിനെ പെട്ടകത്തില് നിന്നു പുറത്തു വിട്ടു.

10. Seven days later Noah sent the dove out again.

11. പ്രാവു വൈകുന്നേരത്തു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു; അതിന്റെ വായില് അതാ, ഒരു പച്ച ഒലിവില; അതിനാല് ഭൂമിയില് വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞു എന്നു നോഹ അറിഞ്ഞു.

11. It returned in the evening, holding in its beak a green leaf from an olive tree. Noah knew that the water was finally going down.

12. പിന്നെയും ഏഴു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ആ പ്രാവിനെ പുറത്തു വിട്ടു; അതു പിന്നെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങി വന്നില്ല.

12. He waited seven more days before sending the dove out again, and this time it did not return.

13. ആറുനൂറ്റൊന്നാം സംവത്സരം ഒന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി ഭൂമിയില് വെള്ളം വറ്റിപ്പോയിരുന്നു; നോഹ പെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ മേല്ത്തട്ടു നീക്കി, ഭൂതലം ഉണങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കണ്ടു.

13. Noah was now six hundred one years old. And by the first day of that year, almost all the water had gone away. Noah made an opening in the roof of the boat and saw that the ground was getting dry.

14. രണ്ടാം മാസം ഇരുപത്തേഴാം തിയ്യതി ഭൂമി ഉണങ്ങിയിരുന്നു.

14. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month, the earth was completely dry.

15. ദൈവം നോഹയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

15. God said to Noah,

16. നീയും നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയും പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും പെട്ടകത്തില്നിന്നു പുറത്തിറങ്ങുവിന് .

16. 'You, your wife, your sons, and your daughters-in-law may now leave the boat.

17. പറവകളും മൃഗങ്ങളും നിലത്തു ഇഴയുന്ന ഇഴജാതിയുമായ സര്വ്വജഡത്തില്നിന്നും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്ന സകല ജീവികളെയും പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരിക; അവ ഭൂമിയില് അനവധിയായി വര്ദ്ധിക്കയും പെറ്റു പെരുകുകയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

17. Let out the birds, animals, and reptiles, so they can mate and live all over the earth.'

18. അങ്ങനെ നോഹയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും ഭാര്യയും പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും പുറത്തിറങ്ങി.

18. After Noah and his family had gone out of the boat,

19. സകല മൃഗങ്ങളും ഇഴജാതികള് ഒക്കെയും എല്ലാ പറവകളും ഭൂചരങ്ങളൊക്കെയും ജാതിജാതിയായി പെട്ടകത്തില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി.

19. the living creatures left in groups of their own kind.

20. നോഹ യഹോവേക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു, ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള സകല മൃഗങ്ങളിലും ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള എല്ലാപറവകളിലും ചിലതു എടുത്തു യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഹോമയാഗം അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

20. Noah built an altar where he could offer sacrifices to the LORD. Then he offered on the altar one of each kind of animal and bird that could be used for a sacrifice.

21. യഹോവ സൌരഭ്യവാസന മണത്തപ്പോള് യഹോവ തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഞാന് മനുഷ്യന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഇനി ഭൂമിയെ ശപിക്കയില്ല. മനുഷ്യന്റെ മനോനിരൂപണം ബാല്യംമുതല് ദോഷമുള്ളതു ആകുന്നു; ഞാന് ചെയ്തതു പോലെ സകല ജീവികളെയും ഇനി നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല.

21. The smell of the burning offering pleased God, and he said: Never again will I punish the earth for the sinful things its people do. All of them have evil thoughts from the time they are young, but I will never destroy everything that breathes, as I did this time.

22. ഭൂമിയുള്ള കാലത്തോളം വിതയും കൊയിത്തും, ശീതവും ഉഷ്ണവും, വേനലും വര്ഷവും, രാവും പകലും നിന്നുപോകയുമില്ല.

22. As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat; winter and summer, day and night.
