1. ദൈവം നോഹയെയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തന്നാല്നിങ്ങള് സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയില് നിറവിന് .

1. God blessed Noach and his sons and said to them, 'Be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth.

2. നിങ്ങളെയുള്ള പേടിയും നടുക്കവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങള്ക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പറവകള്ക്കും സകല ഭൂചരങ്ങള്ക്കും സുമദ്രത്തിലെ സകലമത്സ്യങ്ങള്ക്കും ഉണ്ടാകും; അവയെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. The fear and dread of you will be upon every wild animal, every bird in the air, every creature populating the ground, and all the fish in the sea; they have been handed over to you.

3. ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആഹാരം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; പച്ച സസ്യംപോലെ ഞാന് സകലവും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. Every moving thing that lives will be food for you; just as I gave you green plants before, so now I give you everything-

4. പ്രാണനായിരിക്കുന്ന രക്തത്തോടുകൂടെ മാത്രം നിങ്ങള് മാംസം തിന്നരുതു.

4. only flesh with its life, which is its blood, you are not to eat.

5. നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണാനായിരിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്തത്തിന്നു ഞാന് പകരം ചോദിക്കും; സകലമൃഗത്തോടും മനുഷ്യനോടും ചോദിക്കും; അവനവന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും ഞാന് മനുഷ്യന്റെ പ്രാണന്നു പകരം ചോദിക്കും.

5. I will certainly demand an accounting for the blood of your lives: I will demand it from every animal and from every human being. I will demand from every human being an accounting for the life of his fellow human being.

6. ആരെങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യന്റെ രക്തം ചൊരിയിച്ചാല് അവന്റെ രക്തം മനുഷ്യന് ചൊരിയിക്കും; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിലല്ലോ മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതു.

6. Whoever sheds human blood, by a human being will his own blood be shed; for God made human beings in his image.

7. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകുവിന് ; ഭൂമിയില് അനവധിയായി പെറ്റു പെരുകുവിന് .

7. And you people, be fruitful, multiply, swarm on the earth and multiply on it.'

8. ദൈവം പിന്നെയും നോഹയോടും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

8. God spoke to Noach and his sons with him; he said,

9. ഞാന് , ഇതാ, നിങ്ങളോടും നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതിയോടും

9. 'As for me- I am herewith establishing my covenant with you, with your descendants after you,

10. ഭൂമിയില് നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ള പക്ഷികളും കന്നുകാലികളും കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളുമായ സകല ജീവജന്തുക്കളോടും പെട്ടകത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട സകലവുമായി ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങളോടും ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

10. and with every living creature that is with you- the birds, the livestock and every wild animal with you, all going out of the ark, every animal on earth.

11. ഇനി സകലജഡവും ജലപ്രളയത്താല് നശിക്കയില്ല; ഭൂമിയെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് ഇനി ജലപ്രളയം ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. I will establish my covenant with you that never again will all living beings be destroyed by the waters of a flood, and there will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.'

12. പിന്നെയും ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഞാനും നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഉള്ള സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളും തമ്മില് തലമുറതലമുറയോളം സദാകാലത്തേക്കും ചെയ്യുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്റെ അടയാളം ആവിതു

12. God added, 'Here is the sign of the covenant I am making between myself and you and every living creature with you, for all generations to come:

13. ഞാന് എന്റെ വില്ലു മേഘത്തില് വെക്കുന്നു; അതു ഞാനും ഭൂമിയും തമ്മിലുള്ള നിയമത്തിന്നു അടയാളമായിരിക്കും.

13. I am putting my rainbow in the cloud- it will be there as a sign of the covenant between myself and the earth.

14. ഞാന് ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ മേഘം വരുത്തുമ്പോള് മേഘത്തില് വില്ലു കാണും.

14. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth, and the rainbow is seen in the cloud;

15. അപ്പോള് ഞാനും നിങ്ങളും സര്വ്വജഡവുമായ സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളും തമ്മിലുള്ള എന്റെ നിയമം ഞാന് ഔര്ക്കും; ഇനി സകല ജഡത്തെയും നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് വെള്ളം ഒരു പ്രളയമായി തീരുകയുമില്ല.

15. I will remember my covenant which is between myself and you and every living creature of any kind; and the water will never again become a flood to destroy all living beings.

16. വില്ലു മേഘത്തില് ഉണ്ടാകും; ദൈവവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സര്വ്വ ജഡവുമായ സകല ജീവികളും തമ്മില് എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള നിയമം ഔര്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അതിനെ നോക്കും.

16. The rainbow will be in the cloud; so that when I look at it, I will remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of any kind on the earth.'

17. ഞാന് ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സര്വ്വ ജഡത്തോടും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്നു ഇതു അടയാളം എന്നും ദൈവം നോഹയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

17. God said to Noach, 'This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between myself and every living creature on the earth.'

18. പെട്ടകത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടവരായ നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര് ശേമും ഹാമും യാഫെത്തും ആയിരുന്നു; ഹാം എന്നവനോ കനാന്റെ പിതാവു.

18. The sons of Noach who went out from the ark were Shem, Ham and Yefet. Ham is the father of Kena'an.

19. ഇവര് മൂവരും നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്; അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂമി ഒക്കെയും നിറഞ്ഞു.

19. These three were the sons of Noach, and the whole earth was populated by them.

20. നോഹ കൃഷിചെയ്വാന് തുടങ്ങി; ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി.

20. Noach, a farmer, was the first to plant a vineyard.

21. അവന് അതിലെ വീഞ്ഞുകുടിച്ചു ലഹരിപിടിച്ചു തന്റെ കൂടാരത്തില് വസ്ത്രം നീങ്ങി കിടന്നു.

21. He drank so much of the wine that he got drunk and lay uncovered in his tent.

22. കനാന്റെ പിതാവായ ഹാം പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത കണ്ടു വെളിയില് ചെന്നു തന്റെ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാരെയും അറിയിച്ചു.

22. Ham, the father of Kena'an, saw his father shamefully exposed, went out and told his two brothers.

23. ശേമും യാഫെത്തും ഒരു വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തു, ഇരുവരുടെയും തോളില് ഇട്ടു വിമുഖരായി ചെന്നു പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത മറെച്ചു; അവരുടെ മുഖം തിരിഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത കണ്ടില്ല.

23. Shem and Yefet took a cloak, put it over both their shoulders, and, walking backward, went in and covered their naked father. Their faces were turned away, so that they did not see their father lying there shamefully exposed.

24. നോഹ ലഹരിവിട്ടുണര്ന്നപ്പോള് തന്റെ ഇളയ മകന് ചെയ്തതു അറിഞ്ഞു.

24. When Noach awoke from his wine, he knew what his youngest son had done to him.

25. അപ്പോള് അവന് കനാന് ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് ; അവന് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും അധമദാസനായ്തീരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. He said, 'Cursed be Kena'an; he will be a servant of servants to his brothers.'

26. ശേമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് ; കനാന് അവരുടെ ദാസനാകും.

26. Then he said, 'Blessed be ADONAI, the God of Shem; Kena'an will be their servant.

27. ദൈവം യാഫെത്തിനെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ; അവന് ശേമിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളില് വസിക്കും; കനാന് അവരുടെ ദാസനാകും എന്നും അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

27. May God enlarge Yefet; he will live in the tents of Shem, but Kena'an will be their servant.'

28. ജലപ്രളയത്തിന്റെ ശേഷം നോഹ മുന്നൂറ്റമ്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു.

28. After the flood Noach lived 350 years.

29. നോഹയുടെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ആകെ തൊള്ളായിരത്തമ്പതു സംവത്സരമായിരുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവന് മരിച്ചു.

29. In all, Noach lived 950 years; then he died.
