1. ദാവീദ് തന്റെ അരമനയില് വസിച്ചിരിക്കുംകാലത്തു ഒരുനാള് നാഥാന് പ്രവാചകനോടുഇതാ ഞാന് ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടുള്ള അരമനയില് വസിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകമോ തിരശ്ശീലകള്ക്കു കീഴെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. Nowe afterward when Dauid dwelt in his house, he saide to Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, I dwell in an house of cedar trees, but the Arke of the Lordes couenant remaineth vnder curtaines.

2. നാഥാന് ദാവീദിനോടുനിന്റെ താല്പര്യംപോലെയൊക്കെയും ചെയ്താലും; യഹോവ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. Then Nathan said to Dauid, Do all that is in thine heart: for God is with thee.

3. എന്നാല് അന്നു രാത്രി നാഥാന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

3. And the same night euen the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

4. നീ ചെന്നു എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനോടു പറകയഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; എനിക്കു വസിപ്പാനുള്ള ആലയം പണിയേണ്ടതു നീയല്ല.

4. Goe, and tell Dauid my seruant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not buylde me an house to dwell in:

5. ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാള്മുതല് ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞാന് ഒരു ആലയത്തില് വാസം ചെയ്യാതെ കൂടാരത്തില്നിന്നു കൂടരത്തിലേക്കും നിവാസത്തില്നിന്നു നിവാസത്തിലേക്കും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

5. For I haue dwelt in no house, since the day that I brought out the childre of Israel vnto this daye, but I haue bene from tent to tent, and from habitation to habitation.

6. എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനോടുംകൂടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചുവന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളില് എവിടെവെച്ചെങ്കിലും എന്റെ ജനത്തെ മേയിപ്പാന് ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചാക്കിയ യിസ്രായേല് ന്യായാധിപതിമാരില് ആരോടെങ്കിലുംനിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു ആലയം പണിയാതെയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഒരു വാക്കു ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

6. Wheresoeuer I haue walked with all Israel spake I one word to any of the iudges of Israel (whome I commanded to feede my people) saying, Why haue ye not built mee an house of cedar trees?

7. ആകയാല് നീ എന്റെ ഭൃത്യനായ ദാവീദിനോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനീ എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രഭുവായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നെ പുല്പുറത്തുനിന്നു, ആടുകളെ നോക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ എടുത്തു.

7. Nowe therefore thus shalt thou say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecoat and from following the sheepe, that thou shouldest bee a prince ouer my people Israel.

8. നീ സഞ്ചരിച്ചുവന്ന എല്ലായിടത്തും ഞാന് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള മഹാന്മാരുടെ നാമംപോലെ ഒരു നാമം ഞാന് നിനക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കും. ഞാന് എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഒരു സ്ഥലം കല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും അവര് സ്വന്തസ്ഥലത്തു പാര്ത്തു അവിടെനിന്നു ഇളകാതവണ്ണം അവരെ നടുകയും ചെയ്യും; പണ്ടത്തെപ്പോലെയും എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഞാന് ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ കല്പിച്ചാക്കിയ കാലത്തെപ്പോലെയും ഇനി ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് അവരെ ക്ഷയിപ്പിക്കയില്ല.

8. And I haue bene with thee whithersoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a name, like the name of the great men that are in the earth.

9. ഞാന് നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും അടക്കും; യഹോവ നിനക്കു ഒരു ഗൃഹം പണിയുമെന്നും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു അറിയിക്കുന്നു.

9. (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in their place, and moue no more: neither shall the wicked people vexe them any more, as at the beginning,

10. നീ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ജീവകാലം തികയുമ്പോള് ഞാന് നിന്റെ ശേഷം നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ഒരുവനായ നിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കയും അവന്റെ രാജത്വം സ്ഥിരമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

10. And since the time that I commanded iudges ouer my people Israel) And I wil subdue all thine enemies: therefore I say vnto thee, that the Lord wil buylde thee an house.

11. അവന് എനിക്കു ഒരു ആലയം പണിയും; ഞാന് അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമാക്കും.
മത്തായി 1:1+

11. And when thy dayes shalbe fulfilled to go with thy fathers, then will I rayse vp thy seede after thee, which shalbe of thy sonnes, and will stablish his kingdome.

12. ഞാന് അവന്നു പിതാവും അവന് എനിക്കു പുത്രനും ആയിരിക്കും; നിന്റെ മുന് വാഴ്ചക്കാരനോടു ഞാന് എന്റെ കൃപ എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ അവനോടു അതിനെ എടുത്തുകളകയില്ല.

12. He shall builde me an house, and I will stablish his throne for euer.

13. ഞാന് അവനെ എന്റെ ആലയത്തിലും എന്റെ രാജത്വത്തിലും എന്നേക്കും നിലനിര്ത്തും; അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനവും എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കും.
എബ്രായർ 1:5

13. I wil be his father, and he shalbe my sonne, aud I will not take my mercie away from him, as I tooke it from him that was before thee.

14. ഈ വാക്കുകളും ഈ ദര്ശനവും എല്ലാം നാഥാന് ദാവീദിനോടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

14. But I wil establish him in mine house, and in my kingdome for euer, and his throne shalbe stablished for euer,

15. അപ്പോള് ദാവീദ് രാജാവു അകത്തു ചെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ഇരുന്നു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്യഹോവയായ ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്നെ ഇത്രത്തോളം കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് ഞാന് ആര്? എന്റെ ഗൃഹവും എന്തുള്ളു?

15. According to all these wordes, and according to al this vision. So Nathan spake to Dauid.

16. ദൈവമേ, ഇതും പോരാ എന്നു തോന്നീട്ടു യഹോവയായ ദൈവമേ, വരുവാനുള്ള ദീര്ഘകാലത്തേക്കു അടിയന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും നീ അരുളിച്ചെയ്കയും ശ്രേഷ്ഠപദവിയിലുള്ള മനുഷ്യന്റെ അവസ്ഥെക്കൊത്തവണ്ണം എന്നെ ആദരിക്കയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. And Dauid the King went in and sate before the Lord and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

17. അടിയന്നു ചെയ്ത ബഹുമാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ദാവീദ് ഇനി എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? നീ അടിയനെ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

17. Yet thou esteeming this a small thing, O God, hast also spoken concerning the house of thy seruaut for a great while, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of hie degree, O Lord God.

18. യഹോവേ, അടിയന് നിമിത്തവും നിന്റെ പ്രസാദപ്രകാരവും നീ ഈ മഹിമ ഒക്കെയും പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു ഈ വങ്കാര്യം എല്ലാം അറിയിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. What can Dauid desire more of thee for the honour of thy seruant? for thou knowest thy seruant.

19. ഞങ്ങള് സ്വന്തചെവികൊണ്ടു കേട്ടതൊക്കെയും ഔര്ത്താല് യഹോവേ, നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരുത്തനുമില്ല; നീ അല്ലാതെ ഒരു ദൈവവുമില്ല.

19. O Lord, for thy seruantes sake, euen according to thine heart hast thou done all this great thing to declare all magnificence.

20. മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു നീ ഉദ്ധരിച്ച നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ജാതികളെ നീക്കിക്കളകയില് വലിയതും ഭയങ്കരവുമായ കാര്യങ്ങളാല് നിനക്കു ഒരു നാമം സമ്പാദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നുദൈവമേ നീ ചെന്നു നിനക്കു സ്വന്തജനമായി വിണ്ടെടുത്ത നിന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെപ്പോലെ ഭൂമിയില് ഏതൊരു ജാതിയുള്ളു?

20. Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we haue heard with our eares.

21. നിന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ നീ എന്നേക്കും നിനക്കു സ്വന്തജനമാക്കുകയും യഹോവേ, നീ അവര്ക്കും ദൈവമായ്തീരുകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

21. Moreouer what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whose God went to redeeme them to be his people, and to make thy selfe a Name, and to doe great and terrible things by casting out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast deliuered out of Egypt?

22. ആകയാല് യഹോവേ, ഇപ്പോള് നീ അടിയനെയും അടിയന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ; അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യേണമേ.

22. For thou hast ordeined thy people Israel to be thine owne people for euer, and thou Lord art become their God.

23. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമാകുന്നു; യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ദൈവം തന്നേ എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ നാമം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരപ്പെട്ടു മഹത്വപ്പെടുകയും നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഗൃഹം നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിലനില്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുമാറാകട്ടെ.

23. Therefore nowe Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and concerning his house, be confirmed for euer, and doe as thou hast sayd,

24. എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, അടിയന്നു നീ ഒരു ഗൃഹം പണിയുമെന്നു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അടിയന് തിരുസന്നിധിയില് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പാന് ധൈര്യംപ്രാപിച്ചു.

24. And let thy name be stable and magnified for euer, that it may be sayd, The Lord of hostes, God of Israel, is the God of Israel, and let the house of Dauid thy seruant bee stablished before thee.

25. ആകയാല് യഹോവേ, നീ തന്നേ ദൈവം; അടിയന്നു ഈ നന്മയെ നീ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. For thou, O my God, hast reueiled vnto the eare of thy seruant, that thou wilt builde him an house: therefore thy seruant hath bene bolde to pray before thee.

26. അതുകൊണ്ടു അടിയന്റെ ഗൃഹം തിരുമുമ്പാകെ എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് നിനക്കു പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവേ, നീ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു എന്നേക്കും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

26. Therefore nowe Lord (for thou art God, and hast spoken this goodnesse vnto thy seruant)
