1. ഇപ്പോഴോ, എന്റെ ദാസനായ യാക്കോബേ, ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത യിസ്രായേലേ, കേള്ക്ക.

1. Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant and Israel, whom I have chosen:

2. നിന്നെ ഉരുവാക്കിയവനും ഗര്ഭത്തില് നിന്നെ നിര്മ്മിച്ചവനും നിന്നെ സഹായിച്ചവനുമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഎന്റെ ദാസനായ യാക്കോബേ, ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത യെശുരൂനേ, നീ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ.

2. Thus saith the LORD that made thee and formed thee from the womb, [who] will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant, and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

3. ദാഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നെടത്തു ഞാന് വെള്ളവും വരണ്ട നിലത്തു നീരൊഴുക്കുകളും പകരും; നിന്റെ സന്തതിമേല് എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെയും നിന്റെ സന്താനത്തിന്മേല് എന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹത്തെയും പകരും.

3. For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty and floods upon the dry ground; I will pour my spirit upon thy seed and my blessing upon thine offspring:

4. അവര് പുല്ലിന്റെ ഇടയില് നീര്ത്തോടുകള്ക്കരികെയുള്ള അലരികള്പോലെ മുളെച്ചുവരും.

4. And they shall spring up [as] among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

5. ഞാന് യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവന് എന്നു ഒരുത്തന് പറയും; മറ്റൊരുത്തന് തനിക്കു യാക്കോബിന്റെ പേരെടുക്കും; വേറൊരുത്തന് തന്റെ കൈമേല്യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവന് എന്നു എഴുതി, യിസ്രായേല് എന്നു മറുപേര് എടുക്കും.

5. One shall say, I [am] the LORD'S; and another shall call [himself] by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe [with] his hand unto the LORD and surname [himself] by the name of Israel.

6. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവായ യഹോവ, അവന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ, ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് ആദ്യനും അന്ത്യനും ആകുന്നു; ഞാനല്ലാതെ ഒരു ദൈവവുമില്ല.

6. Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel and his redeemer, the LORD of the hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God.

7. ഞാന് പുരാതനമായോരു ജനത്തെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതുമുതല് ഞാന് എന്നപോലെ വിളിച്ചുപറകയും പ്രസ്താവിക്കയും എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ഒരുക്കിവെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് ആര്? സംഭവിക്കുന്നതും സംഭവിപ്പാനുള്ളതും അവര് പ്രസ്താവിക്കട്ടെ.

7. And who shall call as I [do] and declare this [in advance] and set it in order for me, since I made the people of the world? Let them declare unto them the things that are near and the things that shall come.

8. നിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; പേടിക്കയും വേണ്ടാ; പണ്ടുതന്നേ ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു കേള്പ്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു; ഞാനല്ലാതെ ഒരു ദൈവം ഉണ്ടോ? ഒരു പാറയും ഇല്ല; ഞാന് ഒരുത്തനെയും അറിയുന്നില്ല.

8. Do not fear, neither be afraid; have I not caused thee to hear from of old and declared unto thee beforehand [that which was to come]? Then ye [are] my witnesses that there is no God but me, and [there is] no Strong One that [I] do not know.

9. വിഗ്രഹത്തെ നിര്മ്മിക്കുന്ന ഏവനും ശൂന്യം; അവരുടെ മനോഹരബിംബങ്ങള് ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല; അവയുടെ സാക്ഷികളോ ഒന്നും കാണുന്നില്ല, ഒന്നും അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല; ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകുന്നതേയുള്ള.

9. Those that make a graven image [are] all of them vanity; and that which is most precious to them is useful for nothing; and they [are] their own witnesses that they do not see, nor understand; therefore, they shall be ashamed.

10. ഒരു ദേവനെ നിര്മ്മിക്കയോ ഒന്നിന്നും കൊള്ളരുതാത്ത ഒരു വിഗ്രഹത്തെ വാര്ക്കുംകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നവന് ആര്?

10. Who has formed God? And who cast a graven image [that] is profitable for nothing?

11. ഇതാ അവന്റെ കൂട്ടക്കാര് എല്ലാവരും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; കൌശലപ്പണിക്കാരോ മനുഷ്യരത്രേ; അവര് എല്ലാവരും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി നില്ക്കട്ടെ; അവര് ഒരുപോലെ വിറെച്ചു ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും.

11. Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed; for the workmen, they [are] of men; even if all of them are gathered together and stand, they shall fear and shall be ashamed together.

12. കൊല്ലന് ഉളിയെ മൂര്ച്ചയാക്കി തീക്കനലില് വേല ചെയ്തു ചുറ്റികകൊണ്ടു അടിച്ചു രൂപമാക്കി ബലമുള്ള ഭുജംകൊണ്ടു പണിതീര്ക്കുംന്നു; അവന് വിശന്നു ക്ഷീണിക്കുന്നു; വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാതെ തളര്ന്നുപോകുന്നു.

12. The smith [shall take] the tongs; he shall work among the coals; he shall give it form with the hammers and bring forth in it the arm of his strength; though [he is] hungry and his strength fails: he shall not drink water, even if he faints.

13. ആശാരി തോതുപിടിച്ചു ഈയക്കോല്കൊണ്ടു അടയാളമിട്ടു ചീകുളികൊണ്ടു രൂപമാക്കുകയും വൃത്തയന്ത്രംകൊണ്ടു വരെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവന് അതിനെ മനുഷ്യാകൃതിയിലും പുരുഷകോമളത്വത്തിലും തീര്ത്തു ക്ഷേത്രത്തില് വെക്കുന്നു.

13. The carpenter stretches out [his] rule; he measures it with a line; he fits it with planes; he marks it out with the compass; he makes it after the form of a [noble] man, in the likeness of [the] beauty [of a] man; that it may remain in the house.

14. ഒരുവന് ദേവദാരുക്കളെ വെട്ടുകയും തേക്കും കരിവേലവും എടുക്കയും കാട്ടിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളില് അവയെ കണ്ടു ഉറപ്പിക്കയും ഒരു അശോകം നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിക്കയും, മഴ അതിനെ വളര്ത്തുകയു ചെയ്യുന്നു.

14. He shall hew down cedars and take the cypress and the oak, and he shall strengthen himself with the trees of the forest; he shall plant a fir tree, which shall be nourished with the rain.

15. പിന്നെ അതു മനുഷ്യന്നു തീ കത്തിപ്പാന് ഉതകുന്നു; അവന് അതില് കുറെ എടുത്തു തീ കായുകയും അതു കത്തിച്ചു അപ്പം ചുടുകയും അതുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു ദേവനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി നമസ്കരിക്കയും ഒരു വിഗ്രഹം തീര്ത്തു അതിന്റെ മുമ്പില് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീഴുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

15. The man shall then use of it for firewood; for he will take thereof and warm himself; he will kindle [it] and bake bread; he will also make a god and worship [it]; he will fabricate an idol and shall kneel down before it.

16. അതില് ഒരംശംകൊണ്ടു അവന് തീ കത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഒരംശം കൊണ്ടു ഇറച്ചി ചുട്ടുതിന്നുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ അവന് ചുട്ടുതിന്നു തൃപ്തനാകുന്നു; അവന് തീ കാഞ്ഞു; നല്ല തീ, കുളിര് മാറി എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

16. He shall burn part of it in the fire; with [another] part thereof he shall eat flesh; he shall roast meat and shall satisfy himself. Afterwards he shall warm [himself] and say, Aha, I have warmed myself, I have seen fire;

17. അതിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പുകൊണ്ടു അവന് ഒരു ദേവനെ, ഒരു വിഗ്രഹത്തെ തന്നേ, ഉണ്ടാക്കി അതിന്റെ മുമ്പില് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിക്കയും അതിനോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുഎന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; നീ എന്റെ ദേവനല്ലോ എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

17. the residue of it he turns into god, into his graven image; he humbles himself before it and worships [it] and prays unto it and says, Deliver me; for thou [art] my god.

18. അവര് അറിയുന്നില്ല, ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; കാണാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകളെയും ഗ്രഹിക്കാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെയും അവന് അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. They did not know nor understand; for [he] has anointed their eyes that they not see [and] their hearts that they not understand.

19. ഒരുത്തനും ഹൃദയത്തില് വിചാരിക്കുന്നില്ലഒരംശം ഞാന് കത്തിച്ചു കനലില് അപ്പം ചുട്ടു ഇറച്ചിയും ചുട്ടുതിന്നു; ശേഷിപ്പുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ഒരു മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കുമോ? ഒരു മരമുട്ടിയുടെ മുമ്പില് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീഴുമോ! എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഒരുത്തന്നും അറിവും ഇല്ല, ബോധവുമില്ല.

19. He does not return to his right mind; he does not have knowledge nor intelligence to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; I have also baked bread upon the coals of it; I have roasted flesh and eaten [it] and shall I make the residue of it an abomination? Do I have to humble myself before the trunk of a tree?

20. അവന് വെണ്ണീര് തിന്നുന്നു; വഞ്ചിക്കപ്പെട്ട അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവനെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്നു; അവന് തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നില്ല; എന്റെ വലങ്കയ്യില് ഭോഷ്കില്ലയോ? എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

20. The ashes feed [him]; his deceived heart inclines him, that he not deliver his soul and say, [Is] not the lie at my right hand?

21. യാക്കോബേ, ഇതു ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക; യിസ്രായേലേ, നീ എന്റെ ദാസനല്ലോ; ഞാന് നിന്നെ നിര്മ്മിച്ചു; നീ എന്റെ ദാസന് തന്നേ; യിസ്രായേലേ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ മറന്നുകളകയില്ല.

21. Remember these things, O Jacob and Israel: that thou [art] my servant: I have formed thee; thou [art] my servant, O Israel, do not forget me.

22. ഞാന് കാര്മുകിലിനെപ്പോലെ നിന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെയും മേഘത്തെപോലെ നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങളെയും മായിച്ചുകളയുന്നു; എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ക; ഞാന് നിന്നെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

22. I have undone, as a cloud, thy rebellions, and thy sins, as a mist, return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

23. ആകശമേ, ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്ക; യഹോവ ഇതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗങ്ങളേ, ആര്ത്തുകൊള്വിന് ; പര്വ്വതങ്ങളും വനവും സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ആയുള്ളോവേ, പൊട്ടിയാര്ക്കുംവിന് ; യഹോവ യാക്കോബിനെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തു യിസ്രായേലില് തന്നെത്താന് മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

23. Sing praises, O [ye] heavens; for the LORD has done [it]; shout with joy, [ye] lower parts of the earth; break forth into praise, [ye] mountains, O forest, and every tree therein, for the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and in Israel he shall be glorified.

24. നിന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനും ഗര്ഭത്തില് നിന്നെ നിര്മ്മിച്ചവനുമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുയഹോവയായ ഞാന് സകലവും ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് തന്നേ ആകാശത്തെ വിരിക്കയും ഭൂമിയെ പരത്തുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ആര് എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു?

24. Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I [am] the LORD that makes all [things], that stretches forth the heavens alone, that spreads abroad the earth by myself;

25. ഞാന് ജല്പകന്മാരുടെ ശകുനങ്ങളെ വ്യര്ത്ഥമാക്കുകയും പ്രശ്നക്കാരെ ഭ്രാന്തന്മാരാക്കുകയും ജ്ഞാനികളെ മടക്കി അവരുടെ ജ്ഞാനത്തെ ഭോഷത്വമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

25. that undoes the signs of the fortune tellers and makes the diviners mad; that turns the wise [men] backward and makes their wisdom fade away;

26. ഞാന് എന്റെ ദാസന്റെ വചനം നിവര്ത്തിച്ചു എന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരുടെ ആലോചന അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നു; യെരൂശലേമില് നിവാസികള് ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നും യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങള് പണിയപ്പെടും ഞാന് അവയുടെ ഇടിവുകളെ നന്നാക്കും എന്നും കല്പിക്കുന്നു.

26. that awakes the word of his servant and fulfills the counsel of his messengers, that says unto Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be rebuilt, and I will raise up thy ruins

27. ഞാന് ആഴിയോടു ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോക; നിന്റെ നദികളെ ഞാന് വറ്റിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു കല്പിക്കുന്നു.

27. that says to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers

28. കോരെശ് എന്റെ ഇടയന് അവന് എന്റെ ഹിതമൊക്കെയും നിവര്ത്തിക്കും എന്നും യെരൂശലേം പണിയപ്പെടും, മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇടും എന്നും ഞാന് കല്പിക്കുന്നു.

28. that calls Cyrus, my shepherd, and all that I desire, he shall fulfil, by saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.:
