1. അയ്യോ, എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ നിഹതന്മാര് നിമിത്തം രാവും പകലും കരയേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ തല വെള്ളവും എന്റെ കണ്ണു കണ്ണുനീരുറവും ആയിരുന്നെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു!

1. 'At that time,' says ADONAI, '[[these enemies]] will remove the bones of the kings of Y'hudah, the bones of his princes, the bones of the [cohanim], the bones of the prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim from their graves.

2. അയ്യോ, എന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടു പോയ്ക്കളയേണ്ടതിന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില് വഴിയാത്രക്കാര്ക്കുംള്ള ഒരു സത്രം എനിക്കു കിട്ടിയെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു! അവരെല്ലാവരും വ്യഭിചാരികളും ദ്രോഹികളുടെ കൂട്ടവുമല്ലോ.

2. They will spread them out, exposed to the sun, the moon and the entire army of heaven, whom they loved, served, walked after, sought after and worshipped. The bones will not be collected or reburied but will be left lying on the ground like dung.

3. അവര് വ്യാജത്തിന്നായിട്ടു നാവു വില്ലുപോലെ കുലെക്കുന്നു; അവര് സത്യത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല ദേശത്തു വീര്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു; അവര് ഒരു ദോഷം വിട്ടു മറ്റൊരു ദോഷത്തിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നു; അവര് എന്നെ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

3. All the survivors of this evil family who remain wherever I have driven them will prefer death to life,' says ADONAI-[Tzva'ot].

4. നിങ്ങള് ഔരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ന് ; ഒരു സഹോദരനിലും നിങ്ങള് ആശ്രയിക്കരുതു; ഏതു സഹോദരനും ഉപായം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഏതു കൂട്ടുകാരനും നുണ പറഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നു.

4. 'You are to tell them that ADONAI says: 'If a person falls, doesn't he get up again? If someone goes astray, doesn't he turn back?

5. അവര് ഔരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ചതിക്കും; സത്യം സംസാരിക്കയുമില്ല; വ്യാജം സംസാരിപ്പാന് അവര് നാവിനെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീതികേടു പ്രവൃത്തിപ്പാന് അവര് അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നു.

5. Why do these people keep backsliding? Why is their backsliding so persistent? They cling to deceit and refuse to return!

6. നിന്റെ വാസം വഞ്ചനയുടെ നടുവില് ആകുന്നു; വഞ്ചന നിമിത്തം അവര് എന്നെ അറിവാന് നിരസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

6. I listened attentively but they spoke nothing right. No one repents of his wickedness, saying, 'What have I done!' Each runs off in his own direction, like a horse plunging headlong into battle.

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഇതാ ഞാന് അവരെ ഉരുക്കി ശോധന കഴിക്കും; എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയെ വിചാരിച്ചു ഞാന് മറ്റെന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു?

7. Storks in the sky know their seasons; doves, swallows and cranes their migration times; but my people do not know the rulings of ADONAI!

8. അവരുടെ നാവു മരണകരമായ അസ്ത്രമാകുന്നു; അതു വഞ്ചന സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; വായ്കൊണ്ടു ഔരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു സമാധാനം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടോ അവന്നായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. ''How can you say, 'We are wise; ADONAI's [Torah] is with us,' when in fact the lying pen of the scribes has turned it into falsehood?

9. ഇവനിമിത്തം ഞാന് അവരെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ജാതിയോടു ഞാന് പകരം ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

9. The wise are put to shame, alarmed, entrapped. They have rejected the word of ADONAI, so what wisdom do they have?

10. പര്വ്വതങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാന് കരച്ചലും വിലാപവും മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രലാപവും തുടങ്ങും; ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം അവ വെന്തുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; കന്നുകാലികളുടെ ഒച്ച കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ല; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളും മൃഗങ്ങളും എല്ലാം വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു;

10. ''Therefore I will give their wives to others, and their fields to those who take them over; for from the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gains; prophets and [cohanim] alike all practice fraud-

11. ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിനെ കല്കുന്നുകളും കുറുനരികളുടെ പാര്പ്പിടവും ആക്കും; ഞാന് യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളെ നിവാസികള് എല്ലാതാകുംവണ്ണം ശൂന്യമാക്കിക്കളയും.

11. they dress the wound of the daughter of my people, but only superficially, saying, 'There is perfect [shalom],' when there is no [shalom].

12. ഇതു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് തക്ക ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവന് ആര്? അവതിനെ പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവയുടെ വായ് ആരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു? ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം ദേശം നശിച്ചു മരുഭൂമിപോലെ വെന്തുപോകുവാന് സംഗതി എന്തു?

12. They should be ashamed of their detestable deeds, but they are not ashamed at all, they don't know how to blush. So when others fall, they too will fall; when I punish them, they will stumble,' says ADONAI.

13. യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതുഞന് അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ച ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവര് ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കയോ അതു അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ

13. ''I will put an end to them,' says ADONAI. 'There are no grapes on the vine, and no figs on the fig tree; the leaf has withered; and what I have given them will pass from their possession.''

14. തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യത്തെയും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് തങ്ങളെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ച ബാല്വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,

14. Why are we sitting still? Assemble! Let's enter the fortified cities and meet our doom there! For ADONAI our God has doomed us; he has given us bitter water to drink, because we have sinned against ADONAI.

15. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് ഈ ജനത്തെ കാഞ്ഞിരംകൊണ്ടു പോഷിപ്പിച്ചു നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കും.

15. When we look for peace, nothing good comes; when we seek a time of healing, instead there is terror.'

16. അവരും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിയാത്ത ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ഞാന് അവരെ ചിന്നിച്ചു, അവരെ മുടിക്കുവോളം അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ വാള് അയക്കും.

16. From Dan can be heard the snorting of his horses; when his stallions neigh, the whole land trembles. For they come devouring the land and all in it, the city and those who dwell there.

17. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് ചിന്തിച്ചു വിലാപക്കാരത്തികളെ വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുവിന് ; സാമര്ത്ഥ്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീകളെ ആളയച്ചു വരുത്തുവിന് .

17. 'Yes, now I am sending snakes among you, vipers that no one can charm, and they will bite you,' says ADONAI.

18. നമ്മുടെ കണ്ണില്നിന്നു കണ്ണുനീര് ഒഴുകത്തക്കവണ്ണവും നമ്മുടെ കണ്പോളയില്നിന്നു വെള്ളം ചാടത്തക്കവണ്ണവും അവര് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു വിലാപം കഴിക്കട്ടെ.

18. My grief has no cure, I am sick at heart.

19. സീയോനില്നിന്നു ഒരു വിലാപം കേള്ക്കുന്നു; നാം എത്ര ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം അത്യന്തം നാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം ദേശത്തെ വിട്ടുപോയല്ലോ; നമ്മുടെ നിവാസങ്ങളെ അവര് തള്ളിയിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. Listen to my people's cry of distress out of a distant land: 'Is ADONAI no longer in Tziyon? Is her king no longer there?' 'Why do they provoke me with their idols and their futile foreign gods?'

20. എന്നാല് സ്ത്രീകളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ചെവി അവന്റെ വായിലെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കട്ടെ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ വിലാപവും ഔരോരുത്തി താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരത്തിയെ പ്രലാപവും അഭ്യസിപ്പിപ്പിന് .

20. 'The harvest has passed, the summer is over, and still we are not saved.'

21. വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു പൈതങ്ങളെയും വീഥികളില്നിന്നു യുവാക്കളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു മരണം നമ്മുടെ കിളിവാതിലുകളില്കൂടി കയറി നമ്മുടെ അരമനകളിലേക്കു പ്രവേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

21. The daughter of my people is broken, and it's tearing me to pieces; everything looks dark to me, horror seizes me.

22. മനുഷ്യരുടെ ശവങ്ങള് വയലിലെ ചാണകംപോലെയും കൊയ്ത്തുകാരന്റെ പിമ്പിലെ അരിപ്പിടിപോലെയും വീഴും; ആരും അവയെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്നു പറക.

22. Has Gil'ad exhausted its healing resin? Is no physician there? If there is, then why is the daughter of my people so slow to recover her health?

23. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുജ്ഞാനി തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്തില് പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു; ബലവാന് തന്റെ ബലത്തില് പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു; ധനവാന് തന്റെ ധനത്തിലും പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു.

23. I wish my head were made of water and my eyes were a fountain of tears, so that I could cry day and night over the slain of the daughter of my people!
