1. അപ്പോള് സഭയൊക്കെയും ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു, ജനം ആ രാത്രി മുഴുവനും കരഞ്ഞു.
എബ്രായർ 3:16-18

1. And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

2. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് എല്ലാവരും മോശെക്കും അഹരോന്നും വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുത്തു; സഭ ഒക്കെയും അവരോടുമിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുവെച്ചു ഞങ്ങള് മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നു എങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു. അല്ലെങ്കില് ഈ മരുഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു ഞങ്ങള് മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നു എങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.

2. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said to them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

3. വാളാല് വീഴേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളെ ആ ദേശത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും മക്കളും കൊള്ളയായ്പോകുമല്ലോ; മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകയല്ലയോ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു നല്ലതു? എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And why has the LORD brought us to this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

4. And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

5. Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

6. And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:

7. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ സര്വ്വസഭയോടും പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്ഞങ്ങള് സഞ്ചരിച്ചു ഒറ്റുനോക്കിയ ദേശം എത്രയും നല്ല ദേശം ആകുന്നു.

7. And they spoke to all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

8. യഹോവ നമ്മില് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന് നമ്മെ പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ആ ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു നമുക്കു അതു തരും.

8. If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which flows with milk and honey.

9. യഹോവയോടു നിങ്ങള് മത്സരിക്കമാത്രം അരുതു; ആ ദേശത്തിലെ ജനത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; അവര് നമുക്കു ഇരയാകുന്നു; അവരുടെ ശരണം പോയ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; നമ്മോടുകൂടെ യഹോവ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു.

9. Only rebel not you against the LORD, neither fear you the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

10. എന്നാറെ അവരെ കല്ലെറിയേണം എന്നു സഭയെല്ലാം പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തില് എല്ലായിസ്രായേല്മക്കളും കാണ്കെ പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.

10. But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

11. യഹോവ മോശെയോടുഈ ജനം എത്രത്തോളം എന്നെ നിരസിക്കും? ഞാന് അവരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള അടയാളങ്ങളൊക്കെയും കണ്ടിട്ടും അവര് എത്രത്തോളം എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരിക്കും?

11. And the LORD said to Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them?

12. ഞാന് അവരെ മഹാമാരിയാല് ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു സംഹരിച്ചുകളകയും നിന്നെ അവരെക്കാള് വലിപ്പവും ബലവുമുള്ള ജാതിയാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

12. I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a greater nation and mightier than they.

13. മോശെ യഹോവയോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്നാല് മിസ്രയീമ്യര് അതു കേള്ക്കും; നീ ഈ ജനത്തെ അവരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു നിന്റെ ശക്തിയാല് കൊണ്ടുപോന്നുവല്ലോ.

13. And Moses said to the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for you brought up this people in your might from among them;)

14. അവര് അതു ഈ ദേശനിവാസികളോടും പറയും; യഹോവയായ നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവര് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയായ നിന്നെ ഇവര് കണ്ണാലേ കാണുകയും നിന്റെ മേഘം ഇവര്ക്കും മീതെ നിലക്കുകയും പകല് മേഘസ്തംഭത്തിലും രാത്രി അഗ്നിസ്തംഭത്തിലും നീ ഇവര്ക്കും മുമ്പായി നടക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

14. And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that you LORD are among this people, that you LORD are seen face to face, and that your cloud stands over them, and that you go before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

15. നീ ഇപ്പോള് ഈ ജനത്തെ ഒക്കെയും ഒരു ഒറ്റമനുഷ്യനെപ്പോലെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞാല് നിന്റെ കീര്ത്തി കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികള്

15. Now if you shall kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying,

16. ഈ ജനത്തോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു അവരെ കൊണ്ടു പോകുവാന് യഹോവേക്കു കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന് അവരെ മരുഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു കൊന്നു കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറയും.

16. Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.

17. യഹോവ ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയും മഹാദയയും ഉള്ളവന് ; അകൃത്യവും ലംഘനവും ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നവന് ; കുറ്റക്കാരനെ വെറുതെ വിടാതെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യം മൂന്നാമത്തെയും നാലാമത്തെയും തലമുറയോളം മക്കളുടെ മേല് സന്ദര്ശിക്കുന്നവന്

17. And now, I beseech you, let the power of my LORD be great, according as you have spoken, saying,

18. എന്നിങ്ങനെ നീ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ കര്ത്താവേ, ഇപ്പോള് നിന്റെ ശക്തി വലുതായിരിക്കേണമേ.

18. The LORD is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.

19. നിന്റെ മഹാദയെക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം മിസ്രയീംമുതല് ഇവിടംവരെ ഈ ജനത്തോടു നീ ക്ഷമിച്ചുവന്നതുപോലെ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ അകൃത്യം ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ.

19. Pardon, I beseech you, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your mercy, and as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

20. അതിന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനിന്റെ അപേക്ഷപ്രകാരം ഞാന് ക്ഷമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to your word:

21. എങ്കിലും എന്നാണ, ഭൂമിയെല്ലാം യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സുകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കും.

21. But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

22. എന്റെ തേജസ്സും മിസ്രയീമിലും മരുഭൂമിയിലുംവെച്ചു ഞാന് ചെയ്ത അടയാളങ്ങളും കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും ഇപ്പോള് പത്തു പ്രാവശ്യം എന്നെ പരീക്ഷിക്കയും എന്റെ വാക്കു കൂട്ടാക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു

22. Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not listened to my voice;

23. അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ഞാന് സത്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള ദേശം അവര് കാണ്കയില്ല; എന്നെ നിരസിച്ചവര് ആരും അതു കാണ്കയില്ല.

23. Surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

24. എന്റെ ദാസനായ കാലേബോ, അവന്നു വേറൊരു സ്വഭാവമുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടും എന്നെ പൂര്ണ്ണമായി അനുസരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടും അവന് പോയിരുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു ഞാന് അവനെ എത്തിക്കും; അവന്റെ സന്തതി അതു കൈവശമാക്കും.

24. But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him will I bring into the land into where he went; and his seed shall possess it.

25. എന്നാല് അമാലേക്യരും കനാന്യരും താഴ്വരയില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് നാളെ ചെങ്കടലിങ്കലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയായി മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുവിന് .

25. (Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelled in the valley.) Tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

26. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

26. And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

27. ഈ ദുഷ്ടസഭ എത്രത്തോളം എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുക്കും? യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

27. How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

28. അവരോടു പറവിന് ഞാന് കേള്ക്കെ നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തന്നേ, എന്നാണ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്യുമെന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

28. Say to them, As truly as I live, said the LORD, as you have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you:

29. ഈ മരുഭൂമിയില് നിങ്ങളുടെ ശവം വീഴും; യെഫുന്നയുടെ മകന് കാലേബും നൂന്റെ മകന് യോശുവയും ഒഴികെ ഇരുപതു വയസ്സുമുതല് മേലോട്ടു എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരായി

29. Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against me.

30. എന്റെ നേരെ പിറുപിറുത്തവരായ നിങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തില് ആരും ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ പാര്പ്പിക്കുമെന്നു സത്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള ദേശത്തു കടക്കയില്ല.

30. Doubtless you shall not come into the land, concerning which I swore to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

31. എന്നാല് കൊള്ളയായ്പോകുമെന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളെ ഞാന് അതില് കടക്കുമാറാക്കും; നിങ്ങള് നിരസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശം അവര് അറിയും.

31. But your little ones, which you said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which you have despised.

32. നിങ്ങളോ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ശവം ഈ മരുഭൂമിയില് വീഴും.

32. But as for you, your carcasses, they shall fall in this wilderness.

33. നിങ്ങളുടെ ശവം മരുഭൂമിയില് ഒടുങ്ങുംവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള് മരുഭൂമിയില് നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം ഇടയരായി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ പാതിവ്രത്യഭംഗം വഹിക്കും;

33. And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your prostitutions, until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness.

34. ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കിയ നാല്പതു ദിവസത്തിന്റെ എണ്ണത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം, ഒരു ദിവസത്തിന്നു ഒരു സംവത്സരം വീതം, നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള് വഹിച്ചു എന്റെ അകല്ച അറിയും.

34. After the number of the days in which you searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall you bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you shall know my breach of promise.

35. എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടംകൂടിയ ഈ ദുഷ്ടസഭയോടു ഞാന് ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുംഈ മരുഭൂമിയില് അവര് ഒടുങ്ങും; ഇവിടെ അവര് മരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയായ ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

35. I the LORD have said, I will surely do it to all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

36. ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കുവാന് മോശെ അയച്ചവരും, മടങ്ങിവന്നു ദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുര്വ്വര്ത്തമാനം പറഞ്ഞു സഭ മുഴുവനും അവന്നു വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുപ്പാന് സംഗതി വരുത്തിയ വരും,

36. And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander on the land,

37. ദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുര്വ്വര്ത്തമാനം പറഞ്ഞവരുമായ പുരുഷന്മാര് യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ഒരു ബാധകൊണ്ടു മരിച്ചു.

37. Even those men that did bring up the evil report on the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

38. എന്നാല് ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കുവാന് പോയ പുരുഷന്മാരില് നൂന്റെ മകന് യോശുവയും യെഫുന്നയുടെ പുത്രന് കാലേബും മരിച്ചില്ല.

38. But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.

39. പിന്നെ മോശെ ഈ വാക്കുകള് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടൊക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞു; ജനം ഏറ്റവും ദുഃഖിച്ചു.

39. And Moses told these sayings to all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

40. പിറ്റേന്നു അവര് അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റുഇതാ, യഹോവ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ചൊല്ലിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു ഞങ്ങള് കയറിപ്പോകുന്നുഞങ്ങള് പാപം ചെയ്തുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു മലമുകളില് കയറി.

40. And they rose up early in the morning, and got them up into the top of the mountain, saying, See, we be here, and will go up to the place which the LORD has promised: for we have sinned.

41. അപ്പോള് മോശെനിങ്ങള് എന്തിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന ലംഘിക്കുന്നു? അതു സാദ്ധ്യമാകയില്ല.

41. And Moses said, Why now do you transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.

42. ശത്രുക്കളാല് തോല്ക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് കയറരുതു; യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഇല്ല.

42. Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that you be not smitten before your enemies.

43. അമാലേക്യരും കനാന്യരും അവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള് വാളാല് വീഴും; നിങ്ങള് യഹോവയെ വിട്ടു പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

43. For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword: because you are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.

44. എന്നിട്ടും അവര് ധാര്ഷ്ട്യം പൂണ്ടു മലമുകളില് കയറി; യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകവും മോശെയും പാളയത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടില്ലതാനും.

44. But they presumed to go up to the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

45. എന്നാറെ മലയില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന അമാലേക്യരും കനാന്യരും ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു ഹോര്മ്മാവരെ അവരെ ഛിന്നിച്ചു ഔടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

45. Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelled in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even to Hormah.
