1. എന്നാല് രൂബേന്യര്ക്കും ഗാദ്യര്ക്കും എത്രയും വളരെ ആടുമാടുകള് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവര് യസേര്ദേശവും ഗിലെയാദ്ദേശവും ആടുമാടുകള്ക്കു കൊള്ളാകുന്ന സ്ഥലം എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു വന്നു

1. Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle;

2. മോശെയൊടും പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരിനോടും സഭയിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും സംസാരിച്ചു

2. the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spake unto Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and unto the princes of the congregation, saying,

3. അതാരോത്ത്, ദീബോന് , യസേര്, നിമ്രാ, ഹെശ്ബോന് , എലെയാലേ, സെബാം, നെബോ, ബെയോന് 4 എന്നിങ്ങനെ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേല് സഭയുടെ മുമ്പില് ജയിച്ചടക്കിയ ദേശം ആടുമാടുകള്ക്കു കൊള്ളുകന്ന പ്രദെശം; അടിയങ്ങള്ക്കോ ആടുമാടുകള് ഉണ്ടു.

3. Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Sebam, and Nebo, and Beon,

4. അതുകൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു അടയങ്ങളോടു കൃപയുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഈ ദേശം അടിയങ്ങള്ക്കു അവകാശമായി തരേണം; ഞങ്ങളെ യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ കൊണ്ടു പോകരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. the land which the LORD smote before the congregation of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle.

5. മോശെ ഗാദ്യരോടും രൂഹേന്യരോടും പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മര് യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോകുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കേണമെന്നോ?

5. And they said, If we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession; bring us not over Jordan.

6. യഹോവ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു കൊടുത്തിട്ടുള്ള ദേശത്തേക്കു അവര് കടക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങള് അവരെ അധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു?

6. And Moses said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to the war, and shall ye sit here?

7. ഒറ്റുനോക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൂന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ കാദേശ്ബര്ന്നേയയില്നിന്നു അയച്ചപ്പോള് അവര് ഇങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തു.

7. And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given them?

8. അവര് എസ്കോല് താഴ്വരയൊളം ചെന്നു ദേശം കണ്ടശേഷം യഹോവ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു കൊടുത്തിട്ടുള്ള ദേശത്തേക്കു പോകാതിരിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരെ അധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തി.

8. Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadesh�barnea to see the land.

9. അന്നു യഹോവയുടെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവന് സത്യംചേയ്തു കല്പിച്ചതു

9. For when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.

10. കെനിസ്യനായ യെഫുന്നെയുടെ മകന് കാലേബും നൂന്റെ മകന് യോശുവയും യഹോവയോടു പൂര്ണ്ണമായി പറ്റിനിന്നതുകൊണ്ടു

10. And the LORD'S anger was kindled in that day, and he sware, saying,

11. അവരല്ലാതെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പോന്നവരില് ഇരുപതു വയസ്സുമുതല് മേലോട്ടുള്ള ഒരുത്തനും ഞാന് അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശത്തെ കാണുകയില്ല; അവര് എന്നോടു പൂര്ണ്ണമായി പറ്റി നില്ക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ.

11. Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:

12. അങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു; യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്ത തലമുറ എല്ലാം മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകുവോളം അവന് നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം അവരെ മരുഭൂമിയില് അലയുമാറാക്കി.

12. save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun: because they have wholly followed the LORD.

13. എന്നാല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ നേരെ യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപം ഇനിയും വര്ദ്ധിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പകരം നിങ്ങള് പാപികളുടെ ഒരു കൂട്ടമായി എഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. And the LORD'S anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander to and fro in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.

14. നിങ്ങള് അവനെ വിട്ടു പിന്നോക്കം പോയാല് അവന് ഇനിയും അവരെ മരുഭൂമിയില് വിട്ടുകളയും; അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് ഈ ജനത്തെയെല്ലാം നശിപ്പിക്കും.

14. And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.

15. അപ്പോള് അവര് അടുത്തു ചെന്നു പറഞ്ഞതുഞങ്ങള് ഇവിടെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകള്ക്കു തൊഴുത്തുകളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികള്ക്കു പട്ടണങ്ങളും പണിയട്ടെ.

15. For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.

16. എങ്കിലും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെ അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി ആക്കുന്നതുവരെ ഞങ്ങള് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി അവര്ക്കും മുമ്പായി നടക്കും; ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളോ ദേശത്തിലെ നിവാസികള് നിമിത്തം ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളില് പാര്ക്കട്ടെ.

16. And they came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones:

17. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ അവകാശം അടക്കിക്കൊള്ളുംവരെ ഞങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോരികയില്ല.

17. but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel, until we have brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.

18. യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയും അതിന്നപ്പുറവും ഞങ്ങള് അവരോടുകൂടെ അവകാശം വാങ്ങുകയില്ല; കിഴക്കു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നിക്കരെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അവകാശം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

18. We will not return unto our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance.

19. അതിന്നു മോശെ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള് ഈ കാര്യം ചെയ്യുമെങ്കില്, യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി പുറപ്പെട്ടു

19. For we will not inherit with them on the other side Jordan, and forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side Jordan eastward.

20. യഹോവ തന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ശത്രുക്കളെ നീക്കിക്കളയുവോളം നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ കടന്നുപോകുമെങ്കില്

20. And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing; If ye will arm yourselves to go before the LORD to the war,

21. ദേശം യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ കീഴമര്ന്നശേഷം നിങ്ങള് മടങ്ങിപ്പോരികയും യഹോവയുടെയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും മുമ്പാകെ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവരായിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; അപ്പോള് ഈ ദേശം യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശമാകും.

21. and every armed man of you will pass over Jordan before the LORD, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him,

22. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്കയില്ല എങ്കില് നിങ്ങള് യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപഫലം നിങ്ങള് അനുഭവിക്കും.

22. and the land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless towards the LORD, and towards Israel; and this land shall be unto you for a possession before the LORD.

23. നിങ്ങളുടെ കുട്ടികള്ക്കായി പട്ടണങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ ആടുകള്ക്കായി തൊഴുത്തുകളും പണിതു നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ചെയ്തുകൊള്വിന് .

23. But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

24. ഗാദ്യരും രൂബേന്യരും മോശെയോടു യജമാനന് കല്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അടിയങ്ങള് ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളാം.

24. Build you cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth.

25. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളും ഭാര്യമാരും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കന്നുകാലികളും മൃഗങ്ങളൊക്കെയും ഗിലെയാദിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

25. And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spake unto Moses, saying, Thy servants will do as my lord commandeth.

26. അടിയങ്ങളോ യജമാനന് കല്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എല്ലാവരും യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി യഷോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു കടന്നു പോകാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead:

27. ആകയാല് മോശെ അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരിനോടും നൂന്റെ മകനാുയ യോശുവയോടും യിസ്രായേല് മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രപ്രധാനികളോടും കല്പിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്

27. but thy servants will pass over, every man that is armed for war, before the LORD to battle, as my lord saith.

28. ഗാദ്യരും രൂബേന്യരും ഔരോരുത്തന് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധനായി യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ കടന്നുപോരികയും ദേശം നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പാകെ കീഴടങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്താല് നിങ്ങള് അവര്ക്കും ഗിലെയാദ് ദേശം അവകാശമായി കൊടുക്കേണം.

28. So Moses gave charge concerning them to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Israel.

29. എന്നാല് അവര് നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി അക്കരെക്കു കടക്കാതിരുന്നാല് അവരുടെ അവകാശം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് കനാന് ദേശത്തുതന്നേ ആയിരിക്കേണം.

29. And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man that is armed to battle, before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:

30. ഗാദ്യരും രൂബേന്യരും അതിന്നുയഹോവ അടിയങ്ങളോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളാം.

30. but if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.

31. ഞങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശം ലഭിക്കേണങ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങള് യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി കനാന് ദേശത്തേക്കു കടന്നുപോകാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.

32. അപ്പോള് മോശെ ഗാദ്യര്ക്കും രൂബേന്യര്ക്കും യോസേഫിന്റെ മകനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തിന്നും അമോര്യ്യരാജാവായ സീഹോന്റെ രാജ്യവും ബാശാന് രാജാവായ ഔഗിന്റെ രാജ്യവുമായ ദേശവും അതിന്റെ അതിരുകളില് ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ദേശത്തിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളും കൊടുത്തു.

32. We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us beyond Jordan.

33. അങ്ങനെ ഗാദ്യര് ദീബോന് , അതാരോത്ത്,

33. And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto the half tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, according to the cities thereof with their borders, even the cities of the land round about.

34. അരോയേര്, അത്രോത്ത്, ശോഫാന് , യസേര്, യൊഗ്ബെഹാ,

34. And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer;

35. ബേത്ത്-നിമ്രാ, ബേത്ത്-ഹാരാന് എന്നിവയെ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളായും ആടുകള്ക്കു തൊഴുത്തുകളായും പണിതു.

35. and Atroth�shophan, and Jazer, and Jogbehah;

36. രൂബേന്യര് ഹെശ്ബോനും എലെയാലേയും കിര്യ്യത്തയീമും പേരുമാറ്റിക്കളഞ്ഞ നെബോ,

36. and Beth�nimrah, and Beth�haran: fenced cities, and folds for sheep.

37. ബാല്മെയോന് എന്നിവയും സിബ്മയും പണിതു; അവര് പണിത പട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കു പുതിയ പേരിട്ടു.

37. And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kiriathaim;

38. മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഗിലെയാദില് ചെന്നു അതിനെ അടക്കി, അവിടെ പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യരെ ഔടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

38. and Nebo, and Baal�meon, (their names being changed,) and Sibmah: and gave other names unto the cities which they builded.

39. മോശെ ഗിലെയാദ് ദേശം മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്നു കൊടുത്തു; അവന് അവിടെ പാര്ത്തു.

39. And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorites which were therein.

40. മനശ്ശെയുടെ പുത്രനായ യായീര് ചെന്നു അതിലെ ഊരുകളെ അടക്കി, അവേക്കു ഹവവോത്ത്-യായീര് (യായീരിന്റെ ഊരുകള്) എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

40. And Moses gave Gilead unto Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein.

41. നോബഹ് ചെന്നു കെനാത്ത് പട്ടണവും അതിന്റെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും അടക്കി; അതിന്നു തന്റെ പേരിന് പ്രകാരം നോബഹ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

41. And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took the towns thereof, and called them Havvoth�jair.
