1. അവര് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോന്നതിന്റെ രണ്ടാം സംവത്സരം ഒന്നാം മാസം യഹോവ സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്

1. During the first month of Israel's second year in the Sinai Desert, the LORD had told Moses

2. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് പെസഹ അതിന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ച സമയത്തു ആചരിക്കേണം.

2. to say to the people, 'Celebrate Passover

3. അതിന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ച സമയമായ ഈ മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതി വൈകുന്നേരം അതു ആചരിക്കേണം; അതിന്റെ എല്ലാചട്ടങ്ങള്ക്കും നിയമങ്ങള്ക്കും അനുസരണയായി നിങ്ങള് അതു ആചരിക്കേണം.

3. in the evening of the fourteenth day of this month and do it by following all the regulations.'

4. പെസഹ ആചരിക്കേണമെന്നു മോശെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Moses told the people what the LORD had said, and they celebrated Passover there in the desert in the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month.

5. അങ്ങനെ അവര് ഒന്നാം മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതി സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു പെസഹ ആചരിച്ചു; യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് ചെയ്തു.

6. എന്നാല് ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ ശവത്താല് അശുദ്ധരായിത്തീര്ന്നിട്ടു ആ നാളില് പെസഹ ആചരിപ്പാന് കഴിയാത്ത ചിലര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവര് അന്നുതന്നേ മോശെയുടെയും അഹരോന്റെയും മുമ്പാകെ വന്നു അവനോടു

6. Some people in Israel's camp had touched a dead body and had become unfit to worship the LORD, and they could not celebrate Passover. But they asked Moses and Aaron,

7. ഞങ്ങള് ഒരുത്തന്റെ ശവത്താല് അശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കുന്നു; നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയത്തു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഇടയില് യഹോവയുടെ വഴിപാടു കഴിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ഞങ്ങളെ മുടക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

7. Even though we have touched a dead body, why can't we celebrate Passover and offer sacrifices to the LORD at the same time as everyone else?'

8. മോശെ അവരോടുനില്പിന് ; യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഞാന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Moses said, 'Wait here while I go into the sacred tent and find out what the LORD says about this.'

9. എന്നാറെ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു.

9. The LORD then told Moses

10. നീ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്നിങ്ങളിലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതികളിലോ വല്ലവനും ശവത്താല് അശുദ്ധനാകയോ ദൂരയാത്രയില് ആയിരിക്കയോ ചെയ്താലും അവന് യഹോവേക്കു പെസഹ ആചരിക്കേണം.

10. to say to the community of Israel: If any of you or your descendants touch a dead body and become unfit to worship me, or if you are away on a long journey, you may still celebrate Passover.

11. രണ്ടാം മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതി സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു അവര് അതു ആചരിച്ചു പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തോടും കൈപ്പുചീരയോടും കൂടെ അതു ഭക്ഷിക്കേണം.

11. But it must be done in the second month, in the evening of the fourteenth day. Eat the Passover lamb with thin bread and bitter herbs,

12. രാവിലത്തേക്കു അതില് ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചുവെക്കരുതു; അതിന്റെ അസ്ഥിയൊന്നും ഒടിക്കയും അരുതു; പെസഹയുടെ ചട്ടപ്രകാരമൊക്കെയും അവര് അതു ആചരിക്കേണം.

12. and don't leave any of it until morning or break any of the animal's bones. Be sure to follow these regulations.

13. എന്നാല് ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവനും പ്രയാണത്തില് അല്ലാത്തവനുമായ ഒരുത്തന് പെസഹ ആചരിക്കാതെ വീഴ്ച വരുത്തിയാല് അവനെ അവന്റെ ജനത്തില്നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം; നിശ്ചയിച്ച സമയത്തു യഹോവയുടെ വഴിപാടു കഴിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന് തന്റെ പാപം വഹിക്കേണം.

13. But if any of you refuse to celebrate Passover when you are not away on a journey, you will no longer belong to my people. You will be punished because you did not offer sacrifices to me at the proper time.

14. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് വന്നുപാര്ക്കുംന്ന ഒരു പരദേശിക്കു യഹോവയുടെ പെസഹ ആചരിക്കേണമെങ്കില് പെസഹയുടെ ചട്ടത്തിന്നും നിയമത്തിന്നും അനുസരണയായി അവന് ആചരിക്കേണം; പരദേശിക്കാകട്ടെ സ്വദേശിക്കാകട്ടെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു ചട്ടം തന്നേ ആയിരിക്കേണം.

14. Anyone, including foreigners who live among you, can celebrate Passover, if they follow all the regulations.

15. തിരുനിവാസം നിവിര്ത്തുനിര്ത്തിയ നാളില് മേഘം സാക്ഷ്യകൂടാരമെന്ന തിരുനിവാസത്തെ മൂടി; സന്ധ്യാസമയംതൊട്ടു രാവിലെവരെ അതു തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് അഗ്നിപ്രകാശംപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു.

15. As soon as the sacred tent was set up, a thick cloud appeared and covered it. The cloud was there each day, and during the night, a fire could be seen in it.

16. അതു എല്ലായ്പോഴും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ആയിരുന്നു; പകല് മേഘവും രാത്രി അഗ്നിരൂപവും അതിനെ മൂടിയിരുന്നു.

17. മേഘം കൂടാരത്തിന്മേല് നിന്നു പൊങ്ങുമ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടും; മേഘം നിലക്കുന്നേടത്തു അവര് പാളയമിറങ്ങും.

17. The LORD used this cloud to tell the Israelites when to move their camp and where to set it up again. As long as the cloud covered the tent, the Israelites did not break camp. But when the cloud moved, they followed it, and wherever it stopped, they camped and stayed there,

18. യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടുകയും യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ പാളയമിറങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്തു; മേഘം തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് നിലക്കുമ്പോള് ഒക്കെയും അവര് പാളയമടിച്ചു താമസിക്കും,

19. മേഘം തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് ഏറെനാള് ഇരുന്നു എങ്കില് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് യാത്രപുറപ്പെടാതെ യഹോവയുടെ ആജ്ഞ കാത്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.

20. ചിലപ്പോള് മേഘം തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് കുറെനാള് ഇരിക്കും; അപ്പോള് അവര് യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ പാളയമിറങ്ങിയിരിക്കും; പിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന പോലെ യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടും.

20. whether it was only one night, a few days, a month, or even a year. As long as the cloud remained over the tent, the Israelites stayed where they were. But when the cloud moved, so did the Israelites.

21. ചിലപ്പോള് മേഘം സന്ധ്യമുതല് ഉഷസ്സുവരെ ഇരിക്കും; ഉഷ:കാലത്തു മേഘം പൊങ്ങി എങ്കില് അവര് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടും. ചിലപ്പോള് പകലും രാവും ഇരിക്കും; പിന്നെ മേഘം പൊങ്ങിയെങ്കില് അവര് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടും.

22. രണ്ടു ദിവസമോ ഒരു മാസമോ ഒരു സംവത്സരമോ മേഘം തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്മേല് ആവസിച്ചിരുന്നാല് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് പുറപ്പെടാതെ പാളയമടിച്ചു താമസിക്കും; അതു പൊങ്ങുമ്പോഴോ അവര് പുറപ്പെടും.

23. യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ അവര് പാളയമിറങ്ങുകയും യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപോലെ യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും; മോശെമുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവര് യഹോവയുടെ ആജ്ഞ പ്രമാണിച്ചു.

23. They obeyed the LORD's commands and went wherever he directed Moses.
