1. പുലര്ച്ചെക്കു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും എല്ലാം യേശുവിനെ കൊല്ലുവാന് കൂടിവിചാരിച്ചു,

1. Vpon the morow, all the hye prestes and elders of the people helde a councell agaynst Iesus, that they might put him to death,

2. അവനെ ബന്ധിച്ചു കെണ്ടുപോയി നാടുവാഴിയായ പീലാത്തൊസിനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു.

2. and bounde him, and led him forth, and delyuered him vnto Pontius Pilate the debyte.

3. അവനെ ശിക്ഷെക്കു വിധിച്ചു എന്നു അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത യൂദാ കണ്ടു അനുതപിച്ചു, ആ മുപ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശ് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും അടുക്കല് മടക്കി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു

3. When Iudas which betrayed him, sawe this that he was condemned vnto death, it repented him, and brought agayne the thirtie syluer pens to the hye prestes and the elders,

4. ഞാന് കുററമില്ലാത്ത രക്തത്തെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്തതിനാല് പാപം ചെയ്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു? നീ തന്നേ നോക്കിക്കൊള്ക എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

4. and sayde: I haue done euell, in that I haue betrayed innocet bloude. They sayde: What haue we to do with yt? Se thou therto.

5. അവന് ആ വെള്ളിക്കാശ് മന്ദിരത്തില് എറിഞ്ഞു, ചെന്നു കെട്ടിഞാന്നു ചത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.

5. And he cast the syluer pens in the teple, and gat him awaye, and wente and hanged him self.

6. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര് ആ വെള്ളിക്കാശ് എടുത്തുഇതു രക്തവിലയാകയാല് ശ്രീഭണ്ഡാരത്തില് ഇടുന്നതു വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കൂടി ആലോചിച്ചു,

6. So the hye prestes toke the syluer pens, and sayde: It is not laufull to put them in to the Gods chest, for it is bloudmoney.

7. പരദേശികളെ കുഴിച്ചിടുവാന് അതുകൊണ്ടു കുശവന്റെ നിലം വാങ്ങി.

7. Neuertheles they helde a councell, and bought with the a potters felde, for to burye straugers in.

8. ആകയാല് ആ നിലത്തിന്നു ഇന്നുവരെ രക്തനിലം എന്നു പേര് പറയുന്നു.

8. Wherfore the same felde is called the bloudfelde vnto this daye.

9. “യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് വിലമതിച്ചവന്റെ വിലയായ മുപ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശു അവര് എടുത്തു,

9. Then was that fulfylled, which was spoken by Ieremy the prophet sayenge: And they toke thirtie syluer pens, the pryce of him that was solde, whom they bought of the children of Israell:

10. കര്ത്താവു എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തുപോലെ കുശവന്റെ നിലത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി കൊടുത്തു.” എന്നു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതിന്നു അന്നു നിവൃത്തിവന്നു..

10. and these they gaue for a potters felde, as the LORDE commaunded me.

11. എന്നാല് യേശു നാടുവാഴിയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു നീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവോ എന്നു നാടുവാഴി ചോദിച്ചു; “ഞാന് ആകുന്നു” എന്നു യേശു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു

11. As for Iesus, he stode before the debyte, and the debyte axed him, and sayde: Art thou the kynge of the Iewes? And Iesus sayde vnto him: Thou sayest it.

12. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുകയില് അവന് ഒന്നും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല.

12. And wha he was accused of the hye prestes and elders, he answered nothinge.

13. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനോടുഇവര് നിന്റെ നേരെ എന്തെല്ലാം സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു എന്നു കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

13. Then sayde Pylate vnto him: Hearest thou not, how sore they accuse the?

14. അവന് ഒരു വാക്കിന്നും ഉത്തരം പറയായ്കയാല് നാടുവാഴി അത്യന്തം ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.
യെശയ്യാ 53:7

14. And he answered him not one worde: in so moch that the debyte marueled exceadingly.

15. എന്നാല് ഉത്സവസമയത്തു പുരുഷാരം ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്ന ഒരു തടവുകാരനെ നാടുവാഴി വിട്ടയക്കപതിവായിരുന്നു.

15. At that feast, the debyte was wote to delyuer a presoner fre vnto the people, whom they wolde.

16. അന്നു ബറബ്ബാസ് എന്ന ശ്രുതിപ്പെട്ടോരു തടവുകാരന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

16. And at the same tyme he had a notable presoner called Barrabas.

17. അവര് കൂടിവന്നപ്പോള് പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുബറബ്ബാസിനെയോ, ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു പറയുന്ന യേശുവിനെയോ, ആരെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിട്ടുതരേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

17. And whan they were gathered together, Pylate sayde vnto them: Whether wil ye, that I geue lowse vnto you? Barrabas, or Iesus which is called Christ?

18. അവര് അസൂയകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവനെ ഏല്പിച്ചതു എന്നു അവന് ഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നു.

18. For he knewe well that they had delyuered him of enuye.

19. അവന് ന്യായാസനത്തില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ ആളയച്ചുആ നീതിമാന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് ഇടപെടരുതു; അവന് നിമിത്തം ഞാന് ഇന്നു സ്വപ്നത്തില് വളരെ കഷ്ടം സഹിച്ചു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

19. And wha he sat vpo the iudgmet seate, his wife sent vnto him, sayenge: Haue thou nothinge to do with that righteous man, for I haue suffred many thinges this daye in a dreame because of him.

20. എന്നാല് ബറബ്ബാസിനെ ചോദിപ്പാനും യേശുവിനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും പുരുഷാരത്തെ സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചു.

20. But the hye prestes and the elders persuaded the people, that they shulde axe Barrabas, and destroye Iesus.

21. നാടുവാഴി അവരോടുഈ ഇരുവരില് ഏവനെ വിട്ടുതരേണമെന്നു നിങ്ങള് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ബറബ്ബാസിനെ എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

21. Then answered the debyte, & sayde vnto the: Whether of these two wyl ye yt I geue lowse vnto you? They sayde: Barrabas:

22. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുഎന്നാല് ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന യേശുവിനെ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅവനെ ക്രൂശിക്കേണം എന്നു എല്ലാവരും പറഞ്ഞു.

22. Pylate sayde vnto them: What shal I do then with Iesus, which is called Christ? They sayde all: let him be crucified.

23. അവന് ചെയ്ത ദോഷം എന്തു എന്നു അവന് ചോദിച്ചു. അവനെ ക്രൂശിക്കേണം എന്നു അവര് ഏറ്റവും നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. The debyte saide: What euell hath he done the? Neuertheles they cried yet more and sayde, let him be crucified.

24. ആരവാരം അധികമാകുന്നതല്ലാതെ ഒന്നും സാധിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു പീലാത്തൊസ് കണ്ടിട്ടുവെള്ളം എടുത്തു പുരുഷാരം കാണ്കെ കൈ കഴുകിഈ നീതിമാന്റെ രക്തത്തില് എനിക്കു കുറ്റം ഇല്ല; നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ നോക്കിക്കൊള്വിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. So whan Pilate sawe, that he coude not helpe, but that there was a greater vproure, he toke water, and wasshed his handes before the people, and sayde: I am vngiltie of ye bloude of this righteous man. Se ye therto.

25. Then answered all the people, and sayde: His bloude come vpon vs, and vpon oure children.

26. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ബറബ്ബാസിനെ അവര്ക്കും വിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു, യേശുവിനെ ചമ്മട്ടി കൊണ്ടടിപ്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചു.

26. Then gaue he Barrabas lowse vnto the, but caused Iesus be scourged, and delyuered him to be crucified.

27. അനന്തരം നാടുവാഴിയുടെ പടയാളികള് യേശുവിനെ ആസ്ഥാനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി പട്ടാളത്തെ എല്ലാം അവന്റെ നേരെ വരുത്തി,

27. Then the debites soudyers toke Iesus, in to the comon hall, and gathered the whole multitude ouer him,

28. അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം അഴിച്ചു ഒരു ചുവന്ന മേലങ്കി ധരപ്പിച്ചു.

28. and stryped him out of his clothes, and put a purple robe vpo him,

29. മുള്ളുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു കിരീടം മെടഞ്ഞു അവന്റെ തലയില് വെച്ചു, വലങ്കയ്യില് ഒരു കോലും കൊടുത്തു അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് മുട്ടുകുത്തിയെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു പരിഹസിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. and plated a crowne of thorne, & set it vpon his heade, and a rede in his hade, and kneled before him, and mocked him, and sayde: hayle kynge of the Iewes.

30. പിന്നെ അവന്റെമേല് തുപ്പി, കോല് എടുത്തു അവന്റെ തലയില് അടിച്ചു.

30. And spytted vpon him, and toke ye rede, & smote him vpon the heade.

31. അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചുതീര്ന്നപ്പോള് മേലങ്കി നീക്കി അവന്റെ സ്വന്തവസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു, ക്രൂശിപ്പാന് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

31. And wha they had mocked hi, they toke the robe of him ageyne, & put his owne clothes vpon him, and led him forth, yt they might crucifie hi.

32. അവര് പോകുമ്പോള് ശീമോന് എന്നു പേരുള്ള കുറേനക്കാരനെ കണ്ടു, അവന്റെ ക്രൂശ് ചുമപ്പാന് നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു.

32. And as they were goinge out, they founde a man of Cyren called Symon: him they compelled to beare his crosse.

33. തലയോടിടം എന്നര്ത്ഥമുള്ള ഗൊല്ഗോഥാ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു കൈപ്പു കലക്കിയ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്തു;

33. And when they came vnto the place called Golgatha (that is to saye by interpretacio a place of deed mens sculles)

34. അതു രുചിനോക്കിയാറെ അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് മനസ്സായില്ല.

34. they gaue him to drynke, veneger myxte wt gall. And whan he had tasted therof, he wolde not drynke.

35. So whan they had crucified him, they parted his garmetes, and cast lottes therfore: that the thinge might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet: They haue parted my garmetes amonge the, & cast lottes vpon my vesture.

36. അവിടെ ഇരുന്നുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കാത്തു.

36. And there they sat, and watched hi.

37. യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവായ യേശു എന്നു അവന്റെ കുറ്റസംഗതി എഴുതി അവന്റെ തലെക്കുമീതെ വെച്ചു.

37. And aboue ouer his heade, they put vp the cause of his death in wrytinge: namely: This is the kynge of the Iewes.

38. വലത്തും ഇടത്തുമായി രണ്ടു കള്ളന്മാരെയും അവനോടു കൂടെ ക്രൂശിച്ചു.

38. Then were there two murthurers crucified with him, the one of the right hande, and the other on the left.

39. They that wente by, reuyled him, and wagged their heades

40. മന്ദിരം പൊളിച്ചു മൂന്നു നാള് കൊണ്ടു പണിയുന്നവനേ, നിന്നെത്തന്നേ രക്ഷിക്ക; ദൈവപുത്രന് എങ്കില് ക്രൂശില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. and sayde: Thou that breakest downe the teple of God, and buyldest it in thre dayes, helpe thyself. Yf thou be the sonne of God, come downe from the crosse.

41. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും പരിഹസിച്ചു

41. The hye prestes also in like maner with the scrybes & elders, laughed him to scorne, and sayde:

42. ഇവന് മറ്റുള്ളവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു, തന്നെത്താന് രക്ഷിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല; അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവു ആകുന്നു എങ്കില് ഇപ്പോള് ക്രൂശില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരട്ടെ; എന്നാല് ഞങ്ങള് അവനില് വിശ്വസിക്കും.

42. he hath helped other, and can not helpe himself: Yf he be the kynge of Israel, let him come downe now from the crosse, and we wil beleue him

43. അവന് ദൈവത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ഇവനില് പ്രസാദമുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഇപ്പോള് വിടുവിക്കട്ടെ; ഞാന് ദൈവപുത്രന് എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

43. He trusted in God, let him delyuer him now, yf he wil haue him. For he hath sayde: I am the sonne of God.

44. The murtherers also that were crucified with him, cast the same in his tethe.

45. ആറാംമണി നേരംമുതല് ഒമ്പതാംമണി നേരംവരെ ദേശത്തു എല്ലാം ഇരുട്ടുണ്ടായി.

45. And from ye sixte houre there was darcknes ouer the whole earth vnto the nyenth houre.

46. ഏകദേശം ഒമ്പതാംമണി നേരത്തു യേശു“ഏലീ, ഏലീ, ലമ്മാ ശബക്താനി” എന്നു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു; “എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്നെ കൈവിട്ടതു എന്തു” എന്നര്ത്ഥം.

46. And aboute the nyenth houre, Iesus cried with a loude voyce, and sayde: Eli, Eli, Lamma asabthani? that is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

47. അവിടെ നിന്നിരുന്നവരില് ചിലര് അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു; അവന് ഏലീയാവെ വിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. But some of the that stode there, when they herde yt sayde: He calleth Elias.

48. ഉടനെ അവരില് ഒരുത്തന് ഔടി ഒരു സ്പോങ്ങ് എടുത്തു പുളിച്ച വീഞ്ഞു നിറെച്ചു ഔടത്തണ്ടിന്മേല് ആക്കി അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്തു.

48. And immediatly one of them ranne, and toke a spoge, and fylled it with veneger, and put it vpon a rede, and gaue him to dryncke.

49. ശേഷമുള്ളവര്നില്ക്ക; ഏലീയാവു അവനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് വരുമോ എന്നു നോക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

49. But ye other sayde: holde, let se whether Elias wyl come, and delyuer him.

50. യേശു പിന്നെയും ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു.

50. Iesus cried agayne with a loude voyce, and gaue vp the goost.

51. അപ്പോള് മന്ദിരത്തിലെ തിരശ്ശില മേല്തൊട്ടു അടിയോളം രണ്ടായി ചീന്തിപ്പോയി;
പുറപ്പാടു് 26:31-35

51. And beholde, the vale of the temple was rente in two peces, from aboue tyll beneth, and the earth quaked, and the stones rent,

52. ഭൂമി കുലുങ്ങി, പാറകള് പിളര്ന്നു, കല്ലറകള് തുറന്നു, നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ച വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ ശരീരങ്ങള് പലതും ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു

52. and the graues opened, and many bodies of the sayntes that slepte, arose,

53. അവന്റെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ശേഷം കല്ലറകളെ വിട്ടു, വിശുദ്ധനഗരത്തില് ചെന്നു പലര്ക്കും പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.

53. and wete out of the graues after his resurreccion, and came in to the holy cite, and appeared vnto many.

54. ശതാധിപനും അവനോടുകൂടെ യേശുവിനെ കാത്തുനിന്നവരും ഭൂകമ്പം മുതലായി സംഭവിച്ചതു കണ്ടിട്ടുഅവന് ദൈവ പുത്രന് ആയിരുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

54. But the captayne and they that were with him, and kepte Iesus, when they sawe the earthquake and the thinges that were done, they were sore afrayed, and sayde: Verely this was Gods sonne.

55. ഗലീലയില് നിന്നു യേശുവിനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അനുഗമിച്ചുവന്ന പല സ്ത്രീകളും ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

55. And there were many wemen there lokynge to afarre of, which had folowed Iesus from Galile, and had mynistred vnto him:

56. അവരില് മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും യാക്കോബിന്റെയും യോസെയുടെയും അമ്മയായ മറിയയും സെബെദിപുത്രന്മാരുടെ അമ്മയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

56. amonge whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of Iames and Ioses, and the mother of the children of Zebede.

57. സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോള് അരിമഥ്യക്കാരനായ യോസേഫ് എന്ന ധനവാന് താനും യേശുവിന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരിക്കയാല് വന്നു,

57. At euen there came a rich man of Arimathia, called Ioseph, which was also a disciple of Iesus.

58. പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം ചോദിച്ചു; പീലത്തൊസ് അതു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

58. He wete vnto Pylate, and axed the body of Iesus. Then commaunded Pylate that the body shulde be geue him.

59. യോസേഫ് ശരീരം എടുത്തു നിര്മ്മലശീലയില് പൊതിഞ്ഞു,

59. And Ioseph toke the body, and wrapped it in a cleane lynnen cloth,

60. താന് പാറയില് വെട്ടിച്ചിരുന്ന തന്റെ പുതിയ കല്ലറയില് വെച്ചു കല്ലറയുടെ വാതില്ക്കല് ഒരു വലിയ കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിവെച്ചിട്ടു പോയി.

60. and layed it in his owne new sepulcre, which he had hewen out in a rocke, and rolled a greate stone to the dore of the sepulcre, and wente his waye.

61. കല്ലറെക്കു എതിരെ മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും മറ്റെ മറിയയും ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

61. And there was Mary Magdalene and ye other Mary, syttinge ouer agaynst the sepulcre.

62. ഒരുക്കനാളിന്റെ പിറ്റെ ദിവസം മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുകൂടി

62. The next daye that foloweth the daye of preparynge, the hye prestes and Pharises came together vnto Pylate,

63. യജമാനനേ, ആ ചതിയന് ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്മൂന്നുനാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്രകാരം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഔര്മ്മ വന്നു.

63. and saide: Syr, we haue called to remembraunce, that this disceauer sayde whyle he was yet alyue: After thre dayes I wyl ryse agayne.

64. അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ചെന്നു അവനെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടു, അവന് മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നു ജനത്തോടു പറകയും ഒടുവിലത്തെ ചതിവു മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും വിഷമമായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മൂന്നാം നാള്വരെ കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കുവാന് കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

64. Comaunde therfore that the sepulcre be kepte vnto the thirde daye, lest peraduenture his disciples come, and steale him awaye, and saye vnto the people: He is rysen from the deed, and so shal the last errour be worse the the first.

65. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുകാവല്ക്കൂട്ടത്തെ തരാം; പോയി നിങ്ങളാല് ആകുന്നെടത്തോളം ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

65. Pylate sayde vnto them: There haue ye watchme, go youre waye, and kepe it as ye can.

66. അവര് ചെന്നു കല്ലിന്നു മുദ്രവെച്ചു കാവല്ക്കൂട്ടത്തെ നിറുത്തി കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കി.

66. They wete and kepte the sepulcre wt watchmen, and sealed the stone.
