1. മടുത്തുപോകാതെ എപ്പോഴും പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കേണം എന്നുള്ളതിന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ഒരുപമ പറഞ്ഞതു

1. ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).

2. ദൈവത്തെ ഭയവും മനുഷ്യനെ ശങ്കയുമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു ന്യായാധിപന് ഒരു പട്ടണത്തില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

2. He said, In a certain city there was a judge who neither reverenced and feared God nor respected or considered man.

3. ആ പട്ടണത്തില് ഒരു വിധവയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവള് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുഎന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗിയോടു പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, Protect and defend and give me justice against my adversary.

4. അവന്നു കുറേ കാലത്തേക്കു മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവന് എനിക്കു ദൈവത്തെ ഭയവും മനുഷ്യനെ ശങ്കയുമില്ല

4. And for a time he would not; but later he said to himself, Though I have neither reverence or fear for God nor respect or consideration for man,

5. എങ്കിലും വിധവ എന്നെ അസഹ്യമാക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവളെ പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കില് അവള് ഒടുവില് വന്നു എന്നെ മുഖത്തടിക്കും എന്നു ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she give me intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or at the last she come and rail on me or assault me or strangle me.

6. അനീതിയുള്ള ന്യായാധിപന് പറയുന്നതു കേള്പ്പിന് .

6. Then the Lord said, Listen to what the unjust judge says!

7. ദൈവമോ രാപ്പകല് തന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുന്ന തന്റെ വൃതന്മാരുടെ കാര്യത്തില് ദീര്ഘ ക്ഷമയുള്ളവന് ആയാലും അവരെ പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കയില്ലയോ?

7. And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf?

8. വേഗത്തില് അവരെ പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു. എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് വരുമ്പോള് അവന് ഭൂമിയില് വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടെത്തുമോ എന്നു കര്ത്താവു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth?

9. തങ്ങള് നീതിമാന്മാര് എന്നു ഉറെച്ചു മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ധിക്കരിക്കുന്ന ചിലരെക്കുറിച്ചു അവന് ഒരു ഉപമ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

9. He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves and were confident that they were righteous [that they were upright and in right standing with God] and scorned and made nothing of all the rest of men:

10. രണ്ടു മനുഷ്യര് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പാന് ദൈവാലയത്തില് പോയി; ഒരുത്തന് പരീശന് , മറ്റവന് ചുങ്കക്കാരന് .

10. Two men went up into the temple [enclosure] to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

11. പരീശന് നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു തന്നോടു തന്നെദൈവമേ, പിടിച്ചു പറിക്കാര്, നീതി കെട്ടവര്, വ്യഭിചാരികള് മുതലായ ശേഷം മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെയോ ഈ ചുങ്കക്കാരനെപ്പോലെയോ ഞാന് അല്ലായ്കയാല് നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു.

11. The Pharisee took his stand ostentatiously and began to pray thus before and with himself: God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of men--extortioners (robbers), swindlers [unrighteous in heart and life], adulterers--or even like this tax collector here.

12. ആഴ്ചയില് രണ്ടുവട്ടം ഉപവസിക്കുന്നു; നേടുന്നതില് ഒക്കെയും പതാരം കൊടുത്തുവരുന്നു; എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു.

12. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I gain.

13. ചുങ്കക്കാരനോ ദൂരത്തു നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തേക്കു നോക്കുവാമ്പോലും തുനിയാതെ മാറത്തടിച്ചുദൈവമേ, പാപിയായ എന്നോടു കരുണയുണ്ടാകേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 51:1

13. But the tax collector, [merely] standing at a distance, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, O God, be favorable (be gracious, be merciful) to me, the especially wicked sinner that I am!

14. അവന് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനായി വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി; മറ്റവന് അങ്ങനെയല്ല. തന്നെത്താന് ഉയര്ത്തുന്നവന് എല്ലാം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; തന്നെത്താന് താഴ്ത്തുന്നവന് എല്ലാം ഉയര്ത്തപ്പെടും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

14. I tell you, this man went down to his home justified (forgiven and made upright and in right standing with God), rather than the other man; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.

15. അവന് തൊടേണ്ടതിന്നു ചിലര് ശിശുക്കളെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അതുകണ്ടു അവരെ ശാസിച്ചു.

15. Now they were also bringing [even] babies to Him that He might touch them, and when the disciples noticed it, they reproved them.

16. യേശുവോ അവരെ അരികത്തു വിളിച്ചുപൈതങ്ങളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് വിടുവിന് ; അവരെ തടുക്കരുതു; ദൈവരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരുടേതു ആകുന്നു.

16. But Jesus called them [the parents] to Him, saying, Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for to such [as these] belongs the kingdom of God.

17. ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ ശിശുഎന്നപോലെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാത്തവന് ആരും ഒരുനാളും അതില് കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. Truly I say to you, whoever does not accept and receive and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child [does] shall not in any way enter it [at all].

18. ഒരു പ്രമാണി അവനോടുനല്ല ഗുരോ, ഞാന് നിത്യജീവനെ അവകാശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

18. And a certain ruler asked Him, Good Teacher [You who are essentially and perfectly morally good], what shall I do to inherit eternal life [to partake of eternal salvation in the Messiah's kingdom]?

19. അതിന്നു യേശുഎന്നെ നല്ലവന് എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ദൈവം ഒരുവനല്ലാതെ നല്ലവന് ആരും ഇല്ല. വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു

19. Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me [essentially and perfectly morally] good? No one is [essentially and perfectly morally] good--except God only.

20. കുല ചെയ്യരുതു; മോഷ്ടിക്കരുതു; കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു; നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നീ കല്പനകളെ നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
പുറപ്പാടു് 20:12-16, ആവർത്തനം 5:16-20

20. You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not witness falsely, honor your father and your mother. [Exod. 20:12-16; Deut. 5:16-20.]

21. ഇവ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് ചെറുപ്പം മുതല് കാത്തു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടിട്ടു

21. And he replied, All these I have kept from my youth.

22. യേശുഇനി ഒരു കുറവു നിനക്കുണ്ടു; നിനക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രന്മാര്ക്കും പകുത്തുകൊടുക്ക; എന്നാല് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിനക്കു നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും; പിന്നെ വന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And when Jesus heard it, He said to him, One thing you still lack. Sell everything that you have and divide [the money] among the poor, and you will have [rich] treasure in heaven; and come back [and] follow Me [become My disciple, join My party, and accompany Me].

23. അവന് എത്രയും ധനവാനാകകൊണ്ടു ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അതിദുഃഖതിനായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

23. But when he heard this, he became distressed and very sorrowful, for he was rich--exceedingly so.

24. യേശു അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുസമ്പത്തുള്ളവര് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതു എത്ര പ്രയാസം!

24. Jesus, observing him, said, How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!

25. ധനവാന് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള് ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതു എളുപ്പം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. For it is easier for a camel to enter through a needle's eye than [for] a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.

26. ഇതു കേട്ടവര്എന്നാല് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. And those who heard it said, Then who can be saved?

27. അതിന്നു അവന് മനുഷ്യരാല് അസാദ്ധ്യമായതു ദൈവത്താല് സാദ്ധ്യമാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. But He said, What is impossible with men is possible with God. [Gen. 18:14; Jer. 32:17.]

28. ഇതാ ഞങ്ങള് സ്വന്തമായതു വിട്ടു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പത്രൊസ് പറഞ്ഞു.

28. And Peter said, See, we have left our own [things--home, family, and business] and have followed You.

29. യേശു അവരോടുദൈവരാജ്യം നിമിത്തം വീടോ ഭാര്യയെയോ സഹോദരന്മാരെയോ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെയോ മക്കളെയോ വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടു

29. And He said to them, I say to you truly, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God

30. ഈ കാലത്തില് തന്നേ പല മടങ്ങായും വരുവാനുള്ള ലോകത്തില് നിത്യജീവനെയും പ്രാപിക്കാത്തവന് ആരും ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളാടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30. Who will not receive in return many times more in this world and, in the coming age, eternal life.

31. അനന്തരം അവന് പന്തിരുവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടുഇതാ നാം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രവാചകന്മാര് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം നിവൃത്തിയാകും.

31. Then taking the Twelve [apostles] aside, He said to them, Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written about the Son of Man through and by the prophets will be fulfilled. [Isa. 53:1-12.]

32. അവനെ ജാതികള്ക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും അവര് അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു അവമാനിച്ചു തുപ്പി തല്ലീട്ടു കൊല്ലുകയും

32. For He will be handed over to the Gentiles and will be made sport of and scoffed and jeered at and insulted and spit upon. [Isa. 50:6.]

33. മൂന്നാം നാള് അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. They will flog Him and kill Him; and on the third day He will rise again. [Ps. 16:10.]

34. അവരോ ഇതു ഒന്നും ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല; ഈ വാക്കു അവര്ക്കും മറവായിരുന്നു; പറഞ്ഞതു അവര് തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

34. But they understood nothing of these things; His words were a mystery and hidden from them, and they did not comprehend what He was telling them.

35. അവന് യെരീഹോവിന്നു അടുത്തപ്പോള് ഒരു കുരുടന് ഇരന്നുകൊണ്ടു വഴിയരികെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

35. As He came near to Jericho, it occurred that a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

36. പുരുഷാരം കടന്നു പോകുന്നതു കേട്ടുഇതെന്തു എന്നു അവന് ചോദിച്ചു.

36. And hearing a crowd going by, he asked what it meant.

37. നസറായനായ യേശു കടന്നുപോകുന്നു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

37. They told him, Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.

38. അപ്പോള് അവന് യേശുവേ, ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.

38. And he shouted, saying, Jesus, Son of David, take pity and have mercy on me!

39. മുന് നടക്കുന്നവര് അവനെ മിണ്ടാതിരിപ്പാന് ശാസിച്ചു; അവനോദിവീദുപുത്രാ എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു ഏറ്റവും അധികം നിലവിളിച്ചു.

39. But those who were in front reproved him, telling him to keep quiet; yet he screamed and shrieked so much the more, Son of David, take pity and have mercy on me!

40. യേശു നിന്നു, അവനെ തന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

40. Then Jesus stood still and ordered that he be led to Him; and when he came near, Jesus asked him,

41. ഞാന് നിനക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. കര്ത്താവേ, എനിക്കു കാഴ്ച കിട്ടേണം എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

41. What do you want Me to do for you? He said, Lord, let me receive my sight!

42. യേശു അവനോടുകാഴ്ച പ്രാപിക്ക; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

42. And Jesus said to him, Receive your sight! Your faith (your trust and confidence that spring from your faith in God) has healed you.

43. ക്ഷണത്തില് അവന് കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വീകരിച്ചും കൊണ്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു; ജനം എല്ലാം കണ്ടിട്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു പുകഴ്ച കൊടുത്തു.

43. And instantly he received his sight and began to follow Jesus, recognizing, praising, and honoring God; and all the people, when they saw it, praised God.
