1. യേശു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവനായി യോര്ദ്ദാന് വിട്ടു മടങ്ങി; ആത്മാവു അവനെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു നടത്തി; പിശാചു അവനെ നാല്പതു ദിവസം പരീക്ഷിച്ചുകെകണ്ടിരുന്നു.

1. And Jhesus ful of the Hooli Goost turnede ayen fro Jordan, and was led bi the spirit into desert fourti daies,

2. ആ ദിവസങ്ങളില് അവന് ഒന്നും ഭക്ഷിച്ചില്ല; അവ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള് അവന്നു വിശന്നു.

2. and was temptid of the deuel, and eet nothing in tho daies; and whanne tho daies weren endid, he hungride.

3. അപ്പോള് പിശാചു അവനോടുനീ ദൈവ പുത്രന് എങ്കില് ഈ കല്ലിനോടു അപ്പമായി ത്തീരുവാന് കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And the deuel seide to him, If thou art Goddis sone, seie to this stoon, that it be maad breed.

4. യേശു അവനോടുമനുഷ്യന് അപ്പംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല ജീവിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

4. And Jhesus answeride to hym, It is writun, That a man lyueth not in breed aloone, but in euery word of God.

6. ഈ അധികാരം ഒക്കെയും അതിന്റെ മഹത്വവും നിനക്കു തരാം; അതു എങ്കല് ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു മനസ്സുള്ളവന്നു ഞാന് കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

6. and seide to hym, Y schal yyue to thee al this power, and the glorie of hem, for to me thei ben youun, and to whom Y wole, Y yyue hem;

7. നീ എന്നെ നമസ്കരിച്ചാല് അതെല്ലാം നിന്റെതാകും എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. therfor if thou falle doun, and worschipe bifore me, alle thingis schulen be thine.

8. യേശു അവനോടുനിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കര്ത്താവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവനെ മാത്രമേ ആരാധിക്കാവു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

15. അവന് അവരുടെ പള്ളികളില് ഉപദേശിച്ചു; എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പ്രശംസിച്ചു.

15. And he tauyte in the synagogis of hem, and was magnyfied of alle men.

16. അവന് വളര്ന്ന നസറെത്തില് വന്നുശബ്ബത്തില് തന്റെ പതിവുപോലെ പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു വായിപ്പാന് എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു.

16. And he cam to Nazareth, where he was norisschid, and entride aftir his custom in the sabat dai in to a synagoge, and roos to reed.

17. And the book of Ysaye, the prophete, was takun to hym; and as he turnede the book, he foond a place, where it was wrytun,

18. “ദരിദ്രന്മാരോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിപ്പാന് കര്ത്താവു എന്നെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്കയാല് അവന്റെ ആത്മാവു എന്റെമല് ഉണ്ടു; ബദ്ധന്മാര്ക്കും വിടുതലും കുരുടന്മാര്ക്കും കാഴ്ചയും പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും പീഡിതന്മാരെ വിടുവിച്ചയപ്പാനും

21. And he bigan to seie to hem, For in this dai this scripture is fulfillid in youre eeris.

22. എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി, അവന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട ലാവണ്യ വാക്കുകള് നിമിത്തം ആശ്ചര്യപെട്ടു; ഇവന് യോസേഫിന്റെ മകന് അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. ഒരു പ്രവാചകനും തന്റെ പിതൃനഗരത്തില് സമ്മതനല്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And he seide, Treuli Y seie to you, that no profete is resseyued in his owne cuntre.

25. ഏലീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു ആകാശം മൂവാണ്ടും ആറു മാസവും അടഞ്ഞിട്ടു ദേശത്തു എങ്ങും മഹാ ക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേലില് പല വിധവമാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് യഥാര്ത്ഥമായി നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

25. In treuthe Y seie to you, that many widowis weren in the daies of Elie, the prophete, in Israel, whanne heuene was closid thre yeer and sixe monethis, whanne greet hungur was maad in al the erthe;

26. എന്നാല് സിദോനിലെ സരെപ്തയില് ഒരു വിധവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കല്ലാതെ അവരില് ആരുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്കു ഏലീയാവിനെ അയച്ചില്ല.

26. and to noon of hem was Elye sent, but in to Sarepta of Sydon, to a widowe.

27. അവ്വണ്ണം എലീശാപ്രവാചകന്റെ കാലത്തു യിസ്രായേലില് പല കുഷ്ഠരോഗികള് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സുറിയക്കാരനായ നയമാന് അല്ലാതെ അവരാരും ശുദ്ധമായില്ല എന്നും അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

29. അവനെ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി അവരുടെ പട്ടണം പണിതിരുന്ന മലയുടെ വക്കോളം കൊണ്ടുപോയി തലകീഴായി തള്ളിയിടുവാന് ഭാവിച്ചു.

29. And thei risen vp, and drouen hym out with out the citee, and ledden hym to the cop of the hil on which her citee was bildid, to caste hym doun.

30. അവനോ അവരുടെ നടുവില് കൂടി കടന്നുപോയി.

30. But Jhesus passide, and wente thorou the myddil of hem; and cam doun in to Cafarnaum,

31. അനന്തരം അവന് ഗലീലയിലെ ഒരു പട്ടണമായ കഫര്ന്നഹൂമില് ചെന്നു ശബ്ബത്തില് അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുപോന്നു.

31. a citee of Galilee, and there he tauyte hem in sabotis.

32. അവന്റെ വചനം അധികാരത്തോടെ ആകയാല് അവര് അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തില് വിസ്മയിച്ചു.

32. And thei weren astonyed in his techyng, for his word was in power.

33. അവിടെ പള്ളിയില് അശുദ്ധഭൂതം ബാധിച്ച ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

33. And in her synagoge was a man hauynge an vnclene feend, and he criede with greet vois,

34. അവന് നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, വിടു; ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവോ? നീ ആര് എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധന് തന്നേ എന്നു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു.

34. and seide, Suffre, what to vs and to thee, Jhesu of Nazareth? art thou comun to leese vs? Y knowe, that thou art the hooli of God.

35. മിണ്ടരുതു; അവനെ വിട്ടുപോക എന്നു യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചപ്പോള് ഭൂതം അവനെ നടുവില് തള്ളിയിട്ടു കേടു ഒന്നും വരുത്താതെ അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി.

35. And Jhesus blamede hym, and seide, Wexe doumbe, and go out fro hym. And whanne the feend hadde cast hym forth in to the myddil, he wente a wei fro hym, and he noyede hym no thing.

36. എല്ലാവര്ക്കും വിസ്മയം ഉണ്ടായിഈ വചനം എന്തു? അധികാരത്തോടും ശക്തിയോടുംകൂടെ അവന് അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോകുന്നു എന്നു തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

36. And drede was maad in alle men, and thei spaken togider, and seiden, What is this word, for in power and vertu he comaundith to vnclene spiritis, and thei gon out?

38. And Jhesus roos vp fro the synagoge, and entride in to the hous of Symount; and the modir of Symountis wijf was holdun with grete fyueris, and thei preieden hym for hir.

39. അവന് അവളെ കുനിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി, ജ്വരത്തെ ശാസിച്ചു; അതു അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി; അവള് ഉടനെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.

39. And Jhesus stood ouer hir, and comaundide to the feuer, and it lefte hir; and anoon sche roos vp, and seruede hem.

40. സൂര്യന് അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോള് നാനാവ്യാധികള് പിടിച്ച ദീനക്കാര് ഉള്ളവര് ഒക്കെയും അവരെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവന് ഔരോരുത്തന്റെയും മേല് കൈ വെച്ചു അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി.

40. And whanne the sunne wente doun, alle that hadden sijke men with dyuerse langours, ledden hem to hym; and he sette his hoondis on ech bi `hem silf, and heelide hem.

41. പലരില് നിന്നും ഭൂതങ്ങള്; നീ ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു നില വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി; താന് ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു അവ അറികകൊണ്ടു മിണ്ടുവാന് അവന് സമ്മതിക്കാതെ അവയെ ശാസിച്ചു.

41. And feendis wenten out fro manye, and crieden, and seiden, For thou art the sone of God. And he blamede, and suffride hem not to speke, for thei wisten hym, that he was Crist.

42. നേരം വെളുത്തപ്പോള് അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഒരു നിര്ജ്ജനസ്ഥലത്തേക്കു പോയി. പുരുഷാരം അവനെ തിരഞ്ഞു അവന്റെ അരികത്തു വന്നു തങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു പോകാതിരിപ്പാന് അവനെ തടുത്തു.

42. And whanne the dai was come, he yede out, and wente in to a desert place; and the puple souyten hym, and thei camen to hym, and thei helden hym, that he schulde not go a wei fro hem.

43. അവന് അവരോടുഞാന് മറ്റുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും ദൈവരാജ്യം സുവിശേഷിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ഇതിനായിട്ടല്ലോ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

43. To whiche he seide, For also to othere citees it bihoueth me to preche the kyngdom of God, for therfor Y am sent.

44. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ഗലീലയിലെ പള്ളികളില് പ്രസംഗിച്ചുപോന്നു.

44. And he prechide in the synagogis of Galilee.
