1. മറിയയുടെയും അവളുടെ സഹോദരി മാര്ത്തയുടെയും ഗ്രാമമായ ബേഥാന്യയിലെ ലാസര് എന്ന ഒരുത്തന് ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നു.

1. There laye one sicke, named Lazarus of Bethania, in ye towne of Mary & hir sister Martha.

2. ഈ മറിയ ആയിരുന്നു കര്ത്താവിനെ പരിമള തൈലം പൂശി തന്റെ തലമുടികൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ കാല് തുടച്ചതു. അവളുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാസര് ആയിരുന്നു ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നതു.

2. It was yt Mary which anoynted ye LORDE wt oyntment, & dryed his fete wt hir heer, whose brother Lazarus laye sicke.)

3. ആ സഹോദരിമാര് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ആളയച്ചുകര്ത്താവേ, നിനക്കു പ്രിയനായവന് ദീനമായ്ക്കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

3. The sent his sisters vnto hi, & sayde: LORDE, beholde, he who thou louest lyeth sicke.

4. യേശു അതു കേട്ടിട്ടുഈ ദീനം മരണത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല, ദൈവപുത്രന് മഹത്വപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്നായിട്ടത്രേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Wha Iesus herde that, he sayde: This sicknesse is not vnto death, but for the prayse of God, yt the sonne of God maye be praysed there thorow.

5. യേശു മാര്ത്തയെയും അവളുടെ സഹോദരിയെയും ലാസരിനെയും സ്നേഹിച്ചു. എന്നിട്ടും അവന് ദീനമായ്ക്കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടാറെ താന് അന്നു ഇരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു രണ്ടു ദിവസം പാര്ത്തു.

5. Iesus loued Martha & hir sister, & Lazarus.

6. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുനാം വീണ്ടും യെഹൂദ്യയിലേക്കു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. Now wha he herde that he was sicke, he abode two dayes in ye place where he was.

7. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുറബ്ബീ, യെഹൂദന്മാര് ഇപ്പോള്തന്നേ നിന്നെ കല്ലെറിവാന് ഭാവിച്ചുവല്ലോ; നീ പിന്നെയും അവിടെ പോകുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

7. Afterwarde sayde he vnto his disciples: Let vs go agayne i to Iewry.

8. അതിന്നു യേശുപകലിന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടു മണിനേരം ഇല്ലയോ? പകല് സമയത്തു നടക്കുന്നവന് ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം കാണുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഇടറുന്നില്ല.

8. His disciples sayde vnto him: Master, lately wolde the Iewes haue stoned the, & wilt thou go thither agayne:

9. രാത്രിയില് നടക്കുന്നവനോ അവന്നു വെളിച്ചം ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഇടറുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Iesus answered: Are there not twolue houres in ye daye? He yt walketh in the daye, stombleth not, for he seyeth ye light of this worlde.

10. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് നമ്മുടെ സ്നേഹിതനായ ലാസര് നിദ്രകൊള്ളുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ഞാന് അവനെ ഉണര്ത്തുവാന് പോകുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. But he that walketh in the night, stobleth: for there is no light in him.

11. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, അവന് നിദ്രകൊള്ളുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. This he spake, & after warde sayde he vnto the: Lazarus or frende slepeth, but I go to wake him out of slepe.

12. യേശുവോ അവന്റെ മരണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ആയിരുന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു; ഉറക്കം എന്ന നിദ്രയെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവര്ക്കും തോന്നിപ്പോയി.

12. The sayde his disciples: LORDE, yf he slepe, he shal do well ynough

13. അപ്പോള് യേശു സ്പഷ്ടമായി അവരോടുലാസര് മരിച്ചുപോയി;

13. (Howbeyt Iesus spake of his death but they thought yt he had spoke of ye bodely slepe.)

14. ഞാന് അവിടെ ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ വിചാരിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിപ്പാന് ഇടയാകുമല്ലോ; എന്നാല് നാം അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. The sayde Iesus vnto the planely: Lazarus is deed,

15. ദിദിമൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള തോമസ് സഹശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുഅവനോടു കൂടെ മരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാമും പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. & I am glad for yor sakes, yt I was not there, that ye maye beleue. Neuertheles let vs go vnto hi.

16. യേശു അവിടെ എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവനെ കല്ലറയില് വെച്ചിട്ടു നാലുദിവസമായി എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു.

16. The sayde Thomas (which is called Didimus) vnto ye disciples: Let vs go also, yt we maye dye wt hi.

17. ബേഥാന്യ യെരൂശലേമിന്നരികെ ഏകദേശം രണ്ടു നാഴിക ദൂരത്തായിരുന്നു.

17. The came Iesus, & founde yt he had lyen in ye graue foure dayes allready.

18. മാര്ത്തയെയും മറിയയെയും സഹോദരനെക്കുറിച്ചു ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പല യെഹൂദന്മാരും അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നിരുന്നു.

18. Bethanye was nye vnto Ierusale, aboute fiftene furloges.

19. യേശു വരുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു മാര്ത്ത അവനെ എതിരേല്പാന് ചെന്നു; മറിയയോ വീട്ടില് ഇരുന്നു.

19. And many of the Iewes were come to Martha & Mary, to coforte the ouer their brother.

20. മാര്ത്ത യേശുവിനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, നീ ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്റെ സഹോദരന് മരിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

20. Now wha Martha herde yt Iesus came, she wete to mete him. But Mary satt styl at home.

21. ഇപ്പോഴും നീ ദൈവത്തോടു എന്തു അപേക്ഷിച്ചാലും ദൈവം നിനക്കു തരും എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. The sayde Martha vnto Iesus: LORDE, yf thou haddest bene here, my brother had not bene deed.

22. യേശു അവളോടുനിന്റെ സഹോദരന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. But neuertheles I knowe also, what soeuer thou axest of God, that God wyl geue it the.

23. മാര്ത്ത അവനോടുഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളിലെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. Iesus sayde vnto her: Thy brother shal ryse agayne.

24. യേശു അവളോടുഞാന് തന്നേ പുനരുത്ഥാനവും ജീവനും ആകുന്നു; എന്നില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന് മരിച്ചാലും ജീവിക്കും.

24. Martha sayde vnto hi: I knowe, yt he shal ryse agayne in the resurreccion at ye last daye.

25. ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു എന്നില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന് ആരും ഒരു നാളും മരിക്കയില്ല; ഇതു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. Iesus saide vnto her: I am the resurreccion & the life He yt beleueth on me, shal lyue, though he were deed allready:

26. അവള് അവനോടുഉവ്വു, കര്ത്താവേ, ലോകത്തില് വരുവാനുള്ള ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തു നീ തന്നേ എന്നു ഞാന് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു

26. & whosoeuer lyueth and beleueth on me, shal neuer dye. Beleuest thou this?

27. പോയി തന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ മറിയയെ സ്വകാര്യമായി വിളിച്ചുഗുരു വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടു നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. She saide vnto him: Yee LORDE, I beleue, that thou art Christ the sonne of God, which shulde come into the worlde.

28. അവള് കേട്ട ഉടനെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു.

28. And wha she had sayde this, she wete hir waye, & called Mary hir sister secretly, & saide: The maister is come, & calleth for the.

29. യേശു അതുവരെ ഗ്രാമത്തില് കടക്കാതെ മാര്ത്ത അവനെ എതിരേറ്റ സ്ഥലത്തു തന്നേ ആയിരുന്നു.

29. She whan she herde that, rose vp quyckly, and came vnto him:

30. വീട്ടില് അവളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു അവളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാര്, മറിയ വേഗം എഴുന്നേറ്റു പോകുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവള് കല്ലറെക്കല് കരവാന് പോകുന്നു എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു പിന് ചെന്നു.

30. For Iesus was not yet come in to ye towne, but was yet in the place, where Martha met him.

31. യേശു ഇരിക്കുന്നേടത്തു മറിയ എത്തി അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കല് വീണുകര്ത്താവേ, നീ ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്റെ സഹോദരന് മരിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. The Iewes that were wt her in the house and comforted her, whan they sawe Mary, that she rose vp haistely, & wente out, they folowed her, & saide: She goeth to the graue, to wepe there.

32. അവള് കരയുന്നതും അവളോടുകൂടെ വന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാര് കരയുന്നതും യേശു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഉള്ളം നൊന്തു കലങ്ങി

32. Now wha Mary came where Iesus was & sawe him, she fell downe at his fete, & sayde vnto hi: LORDE, yf thou haddest bene here, my brother had not bene deed.

33. അവനെ വെച്ചതു എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. കര്ത്താവേ, വന്നു കാണ്ക എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. Wha Iesus sawe her wepe, & the Iewes wepinge also yt came wt her, he groned in the sprete, & was sory wt in himself,

34. യേശു കണ്ണുനീര് വാര്ത്തു.

34. & sayde: Where haue ye layed him? They sayde: LORDE come, & se it.

35. ആകയാല് യെഹൂദന്മാര്കണ്ടോ അവനോടു എത്ര പ്രിയം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. And Iesus wepte.

36. ചിലരോകുരുടന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്ന ഇവന്നു ഇവനെയും മരിക്കാതാക്കുവാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36. Then sayde ye Iewes: Beholde how he loued him.

37. യേശു പിന്നെയും ഉള്ളംനൊന്തു കല്ലറെക്കല് എത്തി; അതു ഒരു ഗുഹ ആയിരുന്നു; ഒരു കല്ലും അതിന്മേല് വെച്ചിരുന്നു.

37. But some of the saide: Coulde no the which opened the eyes of ye blynde, haue made also, that this ma shulde not haue dyed?

38. കല്ലു നീക്കുവിന് എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു മരിച്ചവന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ മാര്ത്തകര്ത്താവേ, നാറ്റം വെച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; നാലുദിവസമായല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. But Iesus groned agayne in himself, and came to the graue. It was a caue, and a stone layed on it.

39. യേശു അവളോടുവിശ്വസിച്ചാല് നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വം കാണും എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. Iesus saide: Take awaye ye stone. Martha the sister of him yt was deed, saide vnto hi: LORDE, he stynketh allready, for he hath bene deed foure dayes.

40. അവര് കല്ലു നീക്കി. യേശു മേലോട്ടു നോക്കിപിതാവേ, നീ എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടതിനാല് ഞാന് നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു.

40. Iesus sayde vnto her: Sayde I not vnto the, that yf thou dyddest beleue, thou shuldest se the glory of God?

41. നീ എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേള്ക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചു എന്നു ചുറ്റും നിലക്കുന്ന പുരുഷാരം വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ നിമിത്തം ഞാന് പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. Then toke they awaye the stone, where the deed laye. Iesus lift vp his eyes, and sayde: Father, I thake ye, that thou hast herde me.

42. ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ലാസരേ, പുറത്തുവരിക എന്നു ഉറക്കെ വിളിച്ചു.

42. Howbeit I knowe, that thou hearest me allwaye: but because of ye people that stonde by, I sayde it, that they maye beleue, that thou hast sent me.

43. മരിച്ചവന് പുറത്തുവന്നു; അവന്റെ കാലും കയ്യും ശീലകൊണ്ടു കെട്ടിയും മുഖം റൂമാല്കൊണ്ടു മൂടിയുമിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ കെട്ടു അഴിപ്പിന് ; അവന് പോകട്ടെ എന്നു യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

43. Whan he had sayde this, he cryed loude: Lazarus come forth.

44. മറിയയുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരില് പലരും അവന് ചെയ്തതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനില് വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

44. And ye deed came forth bounde hande & fote wt graue clothes, & his face bounde wt a napkyn. Iesus sayde vnto the: Lowse him, & let him go.

45. എന്നാല് ചിലര് പരീശന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് പോയി യേശു ചെയ്തതു അവരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

45. Many now of ye Iewes which mere come vnto Mary, and sawe what Iesus dyd, beleued on him.

46. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും സംഘം കൂടിനാം എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? ഈ മനുഷ്യന് വളരെ അടയാളങ്ങള് ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

46. But some of the wente their waye vnto the pharises, and tolde the what Iesus had done.

47. അവനെ ഇങ്ങനെ വിട്ടേച്ചാല് എല്ലാവരും അവനില് വിശ്വസിക്കും; റോമക്കാരും വന്നു നമ്മുടെ സ്ഥലത്തെയും ജനത്തെയും എടുത്തുകളയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. Then the hye prestes, and the pharises gathered a councell, and sayde: What do we? This man doth many tokens.

48. അവരില് ഒരുത്തന് , ആ സംവത്സരത്തെ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ കയ്യഫാവു തന്നേ, അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ഒന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല;

48. Yf we let him go thus, all me wyl beleue in him: the shal the Romaynes come, and take awaye oure londe and people.

49. ജനം മുഴുവനും നശിച്ചുപോകാതവണ്ണം ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് ജാതിക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിക്കുന്നതു നന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കുംന്നതുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

49. But one of them, named Caiphas, which was hye prest that same yeare, sayde vnto them: Ye knowe nothinge nether considre ye eny thinge at all.

50. അവന് ഇതു സ്വയമായി പറഞ്ഞതല്ല, താന് ആ സംവത്സരത്തെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന് ആകയാല് ജനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി യേശു മരിപ്പാന് ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പ്രവചിച്ചതത്രേ.

50. It is better for us that one ma dye for the people, then that all the people shulde perishe.

51. ജനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി മാത്രമല്ല ചിതറിയിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവമക്കളെ ഒന്നായിട്ടു ചേര്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നേ.

51. This spake he not of himself, but for so moch as he was hye prest of the same yeare, he prophecied. For Iesus was for to dye for the people,

52. അന്നു മുതല് അവര് അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാന് ആലോചിച്ചു.
ഉല്പത്തി 49:10

52. and not for the people onely, but that he shulde gather together the children of God, which were scatered abrode:

53. അതുകൊണ്ടു യേശു യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് പിന്നെ പരസ്യമായി നടക്കാതെ അവിടം വിട്ടു മരുഭൂമിക്കരികെ എഫ്രയീം എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു വാങ്ങി ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി അവിടെ പാര്ത്തു.

53. From that daye forth they toke coucell, how they might put him to death.

54. യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പെസഹ അടുത്തിരിക്കയാല് പലരും തങ്ങള്ക്കു ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തുവാന് പെസഹെക്കു മുമ്പെ നാട്ടില് നിന്നു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോയി.

54. Iesus walked nomore openly amonge the Iewes, but wente from thence in to a countre by the wyldernesse, to a cite called Ephraim, & there had he his beynge with his disciples.

55. അവര് യേശുവിനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു ദൈവാലയത്തില് നിന്നുകൊണ്ടുഎന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? അവന് പെരുനാള്ക്കു വരികയില്ലയോ എന്നു തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

55. The Iewes Easter was nye at hande. And there wente vp many to Ierusale out of that countre before ye Easter, to purifye them selues.

56. എന്നാല് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും അവനെ പിടിക്കേണം എന്നു വെച്ചു അവന് ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഇടം ആരെങ്കിലും അറിഞ്ഞാല് അറിവു തരേണമെന്നു കല്പന കൊടുത്തിരുന്നു.

56. Then stode they vp, and axed after Iesus, and spake amonge them selues in the temple: What thynke ye, that he cometh not to ye feast?
