1. ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ലേവിഗോത്രത്തിന്നും യിസ്രായേലിനോടുകൂടെ ഔഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങളും അവന്റെ അവകാശവുംകൊണ്ടു അവര് ഉപജീവനം കഴിക്കേണം.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 9:13

1. The priests, the Levites, even the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel; the burnt offerings of the Lord [are] their inheritance, they shall eat them.

2. ആകയാല് അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് അവര്ക്കും അവകാശം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവ അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവന് തന്നേ അവരുടെ അവകാശം.

2. And they shall have no inheritance among their brothers; the Lord Himself [is] his portion, as He said to him.

3. ജനത്തില്നിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ചെല്ലേണ്ടുന്ന അവകാശം എന്തെന്നാല്മാടിനെയോ ആടിനെയോ യാഗം കഴിക്കുന്നവന് കൈക്കുറകും കവിള് രണ്ടും ആമാശയവും കൊടുക്കേണം.

3. And this [is] the due of the priests in the things coming from the people from those who offer sacrifices, whether it be a calf or a sheep; and you shall give the shoulder to the priest, and the cheeks, and the stomach;

4. ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയുടെ ആദ്യഫലവും നിന്റെ ആടുകളെ കത്രിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യരോമവും നീ അവന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം.

4. and the firstfruits of your grain, and of your wine, and of your oil; and you shall give to him the firstfruits of the fleeces of your sheep:

5. യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാന് എപ്പോഴും നില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളില്നിന്നു അവനെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും അല്ലോ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

5. because the Lord has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand before the Lord your God, to minister and bless in His name, himself and his sons among the children of Israel.

6. ഏതു യിസ്രായേല്യപട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും പരദേശിയായി പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന ഒരു ലേവ്യന് അവിടെനിന്നു യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വന്നാല്--അവന്നു മനസ്സുപോലെ വരാം--

6. And if a Levite comes from one of the cities of all the children of Israel, where he himself dwells, accordingly as his mind desires, to the place which he shall have chosen,

7. അവിടെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് നിലക്കുന്ന ലേവ്യരായ തന്റെ സകല സഹോദരന്മാരെയുംപോലെ അവന്നും തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യാം.

7. he shall minister to the name of the Lord his God, as all his brothers the Levites, who stand there before the Lord your God.

8. അവന്റെ പിതൃസ്വത്തു വിറ്റുകിട്ടിയ മുതലിന്നു പുറമെ അവരുടെ ഉപജീവനം സമാംശമായിരിക്കേണം.

8. He shall eat an allotted portion, besides the sale of his hereditary property.

9. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു എത്തിയശേഷം അവിടത്തെ ജാതികളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് നീ പഠിക്കരുതു.

9. And when you shall have entered into the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.

10. തന്റെ മകനെയോ മകളെയോ അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നവന് , പ്രശ്നക്കാരന് , മുഹൂര്ത്തക്കാരന് , ആഭിചാരകന് , ക്ഷുദ്രക്കാരന് ,

10. There shall not be found in you one who purges his son or his daughter with fire, or one who uses divination, or [one] who deals with omens, or a sorcerer

11. മന്ത്രവാദി, വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന് , ലക്ഷണം പറയുന്നവന് , അജ്ഞനക്കാരന് എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് കാണരുതു.

11. employing an incantation, or one who has in him a divining spirit, or an observer of signs who questions the dead.

12. ഈ കാര്യങ്ങള് ചെയ്യുന്നവനെല്ലാം യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് നിമിത്തം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നു.

12. For everyone that does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God; for because of these abominations the Lord shall destroy them from before your face.

13. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരിക്കേണം.
മത്തായി 5:48

13. You shall be perfect before the Lord your God.

14. നീ നീക്കിക്കളവാനിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികള് മുഹൂര്ത്തക്കാരുടെയും പ്രശ്നക്കാരുടെയും വാക്കുകേട്ടു നടന്നു; നീയോ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്വാന് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

14. For all these nations whose [land] you shall inherit, they will listen to omens and divinations; but the Lord your God has not permitted you [to do] so.

15. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു എന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചുതരും; അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കേണം.

15. The Lord your God shall raise up to you a Prophet from among your brethren, like me; Him shall you hear,

16. ഞാന് മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇനി എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ദം കേള്പ്പാനും ഈ മഹത്തായ തീ കാണ്മാനും എനിക്കു ഇടവരരുതേ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഹോരേബില്വെച്ചു മഹായോഗം കൂടിയ നാളില് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു നീ അപേക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ.

16. according to all the things which you desired from the Lord your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, We will not again hear the voice of the Lord your God, and we will not anymore see this great fire, lest we die.

17. അന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്അവര് പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി.

17. And the Lord said to me, They have spoken rightly, all that they have said to you.

18. നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ആക്കും; ഞാന് അവനോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവന് അവരോടു പറയും.

18. I will raise up to them a Prophet from among their brethren, like you; and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them as I shall command Him.

19. അവന് എന്റെ നാമത്തില് പറയുന്ന എന്റെ വചനങ്ങള് യാതൊരുത്തെനങ്കിലും കേള്ക്കാതിരുന്നാല് അവനോടു ഞാന് ചോദിക്കും.

19. And whoever shall not hearken to all the words that [the] Prophet shall speak in My name, I will take vengeance on him.

20. എന്നാല് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ഞാന് അവനോടു കല്പിക്കാത്ത വചനം എന്റെ നാമത്തില് അഹങ്കാരത്തോടെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കയോ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളുടെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിക്കയോ ചെയ്താല് ആ പ്രവാചകന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

20. But whichever prophet that shall impiously speak in My name a word which I have not commanded him to speak, and whosoever shall speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.

21. അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യാത്ത വചനം എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് എങ്ങനെ അറിയും എന്നു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറഞ്ഞാല്

21. But if you shall say in your heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?

22. ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം സംഭവിക്കയും ഒത്തുവരികയും ചെയ്യാഞ്ഞാല് അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതല്ല; പ്രവാചകന് അതു സ്വയംകൃതമായി സംസാരിച്ചതത്രേ; അവനെ പേടിക്കരുതു.

22. Whatever words that prophet shall speak in the name of the Lord, and they shall not come true, and not come to pass, this [is] the thing which the Lord has not spoken; that prophet has spoken wickedly: you shall not spare him.
