1. ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ലേവിഗോത്രത്തിന്നും യിസ്രായേലിനോടുകൂടെ ഔഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങളും അവന്റെ അവകാശവുംകൊണ്ടു അവര് ഉപജീവനം കഴിക്കേണം.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 9:13

1. 'There is not to the priests the Levites -- all the tribe of Levi -- a portion and inheritance with Israel; fire-offerings of Jehovah, even His inheritance, they eat,

2. ആകയാല് അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് അവര്ക്കും അവകാശം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവ അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവന് തന്നേ അവരുടെ അവകാശം.

2. and he hath no inheritance in the midst of his brethren; Jehovah Himself [is] his inheritance, as He hath spoken to him.

3. ജനത്തില്നിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ചെല്ലേണ്ടുന്ന അവകാശം എന്തെന്നാല്മാടിനെയോ ആടിനെയോ യാഗം കഴിക്കുന്നവന് കൈക്കുറകും കവിള് രണ്ടും ആമാശയവും കൊടുക്കേണം.

3. 'And this is the priest's right from the people, from those sacrificing a sacrifice, whether ox or sheep, he hath even given to the priest the leg, and the two cheeks, and the stomach;

4. ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയുടെ ആദ്യഫലവും നിന്റെ ആടുകളെ കത്രിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യരോമവും നീ അവന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം.

4. the first of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy flock, thou dost give to him;

5. യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാന് എപ്പോഴും നില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളില്നിന്നു അവനെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും അല്ലോ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

5. for on him hath Jehovah thy God fixed, out of all thy tribes, to stand to serve in the name of Jehovah, He and his sons continually.

6. ഏതു യിസ്രായേല്യപട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും പരദേശിയായി പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന ഒരു ലേവ്യന് അവിടെനിന്നു യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വന്നാല്--അവന്നു മനസ്സുപോലെ വരാം--

6. 'And when the Levite cometh from one of thy cities out of all Israel, where he hath sojourned, and hath come with all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah doth choose,

7. അവിടെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് നിലക്കുന്ന ലേവ്യരായ തന്റെ സകല സഹോദരന്മാരെയുംപോലെ അവന്നും തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യാം.

7. then he hath ministered in the name of Jehovah his God, like all his brethren, the Levites, who are standing there before Jehovah,

8. അവന്റെ പിതൃസ്വത്തു വിറ്റുകിട്ടിയ മുതലിന്നു പുറമെ അവരുടെ ഉപജീവനം സമാംശമായിരിക്കേണം.

8. portion as portion they do eat, apart from his sold things, with the fathers.

9. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു എത്തിയശേഷം അവിടത്തെ ജാതികളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് നീ പഠിക്കരുതു.

9. 'When thou art coming in unto the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, thou dost not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations:

10. തന്റെ മകനെയോ മകളെയോ അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നവന് , പ്രശ്നക്കാരന് , മുഹൂര്ത്തക്കാരന് , ആഭിചാരകന് , ക്ഷുദ്രക്കാരന് ,

10. there is not found in thee one causing his son and his daughter to pass over into fire, a user of divinations, an observer of clouds, and an enchanter, and a sorcerer,

11. മന്ത്രവാദി, വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന് , ലക്ഷണം പറയുന്നവന് , അജ്ഞനക്കാരന് എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് കാണരുതു.

11. and a charmer, and one asking at a familiar spirit, and a wizard, and one seeking unto the dead.

12. ഈ കാര്യങ്ങള് ചെയ്യുന്നവനെല്ലാം യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് നിമിത്തം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നു.

12. 'For the abomination of Jehovah [is] every one doing these, and because of these abominations is Jehovah thy God dispossessing them from thy presence.

13. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരിക്കേണം.

13. Perfect thou art with Jehovah thy God,

14. നീ നീക്കിക്കളവാനിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികള് മുഹൂര്ത്തക്കാരുടെയും പ്രശ്നക്കാരുടെയും വാക്കുകേട്ടു നടന്നു; നീയോ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്വാന് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

14. for these nations whom thou art possessing, unto observers of clouds, and unto diviners, do hearken; and thou -- not so hath Jehovah thy God suffered thee.

15. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു എന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചുതരും; അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കേണം.

15. 'A prophet out of thy midst, out of thy brethren, like to me, doth Jehovah thy God raise up to thee -- unto him ye hearken;

16. ഞാന് മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇനി എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ദം കേള്പ്പാനും ഈ മഹത്തായ തീ കാണ്മാനും എനിക്കു ഇടവരരുതേ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഹോരേബില്വെച്ചു മഹായോഗം കൂടിയ നാളില് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു നീ അപേക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ.

16. according to all that thou didst ask from Jehovah thy God, in Horeb, in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not add to hear the voice of Jehovah my God, and this great fire let me not see any more, and I die not;

17. അന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്അവര് പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി.

17. and Jehovah saith unto me, They have done well that they have spoken;

18. നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ആക്കും; ഞാന് അവനോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവന് അവരോടു പറയും.

18. a prophet I raise up to them, out of the midst of their brethren, like to thee; and I have given my words in his mouth, and he hath spoken unto them all that which I command him;

19. അവന് എന്റെ നാമത്തില് പറയുന്ന എന്റെ വചനങ്ങള് യാതൊരുത്തെനങ്കിലും കേള്ക്കാതിരുന്നാല് അവനോടു ഞാന് ചോദിക്കും.

19. and it hath been -- the man who doth not hearken unto My words which he doth speak in My name, I require [it] of him.

20. എന്നാല് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ഞാന് അവനോടു കല്പിക്കാത്ത വചനം എന്റെ നാമത്തില് അഹങ്കാരത്തോടെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കയോ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളുടെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിക്കയോ ചെയ്താല് ആ പ്രവാചകന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

20. 'Only, the prophet who presumeth to speak a word in My name -- that which I have not commanded him to speak -- and who speaketh in the name of other gods -- even that prophet hath died.

21. അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യാത്ത വചനം എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് എങ്ങനെ അറിയും എന്നു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറഞ്ഞാല്

21. 'And when thou sayest in thy heart, How do we know the word which Jehovah hath not spoken? --

22. ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം സംഭവിക്കയും ഒത്തുവരികയും ചെയ്യാഞ്ഞാല് അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതല്ല; പ്രവാചകന് അതു സ്വയംകൃതമായി സംസാരിച്ചതത്രേ; അവനെ പേടിക്കരുതു.

22. that which the prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, and the thing is not, and cometh not -- it [is] the word which Jehovah hath not spoken; in presumption hath the prophet spoken it; -- thou art not afraid of him.
