1. അനന്തരം നാം തിരിഞ്ഞു ബാശാനിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയായി പോയി; അപ്പോള് ബാശാന് രാജാവായ ഔഗും അവന്റെ സര്വ്വജനവും നമ്മുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു എദ്രെയില്വെച്ചു പടയേറ്റു.

1. Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan. And Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

2. എന്നാറെ യഹോവ എന്നോടുഅവനെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; ഞാന് അവനെയും അവന്റെ സര്വ്വജനത്തെയും ദേശത്തെയും നിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുഹെശ്ബോനില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യരാജാവായ സീഹോനോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നീ അവനോടും ചെയ്യും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

2. And LORD said to me, Fear him not, for I have delivered him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand. And thou shall do to him as thou did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.

3. അങ്ങനെ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ബാശാന് രാജാവായ ഔഗിനെയും അവന്റെ സകല ജനത്തെയും നമ്മുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവന്നു ആരും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം നാം അവനെ സംഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

3. So LORD our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people, and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.

4. അക്കാലത്തു നാം അവന്റെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളും പിടിച്ചു; നാം അവരുടെ പക്കല്നിന്നു പിടിക്കാത്ത ഒരു പട്ടണവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; ബാശാനിലെ ഔഗിന്റെ രാജ്യമായ അറുപതു പട്ടണങ്ങളുള്ള അര്ഗ്ഗോബ് ദേശം ഒക്കെയും

4. And we took all his cities at that time. There was not a city which we did not take from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

5. നാട്ടുപുറങ്ങളിലെ അനവധി ഊരുകളും പിടിച്ചു; ആ പട്ടണങ്ങള് എല്ലാം ഉയര്ന്ന മതിലുകളും വാതിലുകളും ഔടാമ്പലുകളുംകൊണ്ടു ഉറപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

5. All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the un-walled towns a great many.

6. ഹെശ്ബോന് രാജാവായ സീഹോനോടും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നാം അവയെ നിര്മ്മൂലമാക്കി; പട്ടണംതോറും പുരുഷന്മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും നിര്മ്മൂലമാക്കി.

6. And we utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.

7. എന്നാല് നാല്ക്കാലികളെ ഒക്കെയും പട്ടണങ്ങളിലെ അപഹൃതവും നാം കൊള്ളയിട്ടു എടുത്തു.

7. But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.

8. ഇങ്ങനെ അക്കാലത്തു അമോര്യ്യരുടെ രണ്ടു രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെയും കയ്യില്നിന്നു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ അര്ന്നോന് താഴ്വര തുടങ്ങി ഹെര്മ്മോന് പര്വ്വതംവരെയുള്ള ദേശവും - സീദോന്യര് ഹെര്മ്മോന്നു സീര്യ്യോന് എന്നും അമോര്യ്യരോ അതിന്നു സെനീര് എന്നു പേര് പറയുന്നു -

8. And we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to mount Hermon

9. സമഭൂമിയിലെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളും ഗിലെയാദ് മുഴുവനും ബാശാനിലെ ഔഗിന്റെ രാജ്യത്തുള്പ്പെട്ട സല്ക്കാ, എദ്രെയി എന്നീ പട്ടണങ്ങള്വരെയുള്ള ബാശാന് മുഴുവനും നാം പിടിച്ചു. -

9. (the Sidonians call Hermon, Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir),

10. ബാശാന് രാജാവായ ഔഗ് മാത്രമേ മല്ലന്മാരില് ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്നുള്ളു; ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ള അവന്റെ മഞ്ചം അമ്മോന്യനഗരമായ രബ്ബയില് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ? അതിന്നു പുരുഷന്റെ കൈകൂ ഒമ്പതു മുഴം നീളവും നാലുമുഴം വീതിയും ഉണ്ടു. -

10. all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

11. ഈ ദേശം നാം അക്കാലത്തു കൈവശമാക്കി അര്ന്നോന് താഴ്വരയരികെയുള്ള അരോവേര്മുതല് ഗിലെയാദ് മലനാട്ടിന്റെ പാതിയും അവിടെയുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളും ഞാന് രൂബേന്യര്ക്കും ഗാദ്യര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തു.

11. (For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron. Is it not in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon? Nine cubits was the length of it, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.)

12. ശേഷം ഗിലെയാദും ഔഗിന്റെ രാജ്യമായ ബാശാന് മുഴുവനും അര്ഗ്ഗോബ് ദേശം മുഴുവനും ഞാന് മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തിന്നു കൊടുത്തു. - ബാശാന്നു മുഴുവന്നും മല്ലന്മാരുടെ ദേശം എന്നു പേര് പറയുന്നു.

12. And we took this land in possession at that time. From Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill-country of Gilead, and the cities of it, I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites.

13. മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ യായീര് ഗെശൂര്യ്യരുടെയും മാഖാത്യരുടെയും അതിര്വരെ അര്ഗ്ഗോബ് ദേശം മുഴുവനും പിടിച്ചു തന്റെ പേരിന് പ്രകാരം ബാശാന്നു ഹവോത്ത് - യായീര് എന്നു പേര് ഇട്ടു; ഇന്നുവരെ ആ പേര് തന്നേ പറഞ്ഞു വരുന്നു.

13. And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh, all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. The same is called the land of Rephaim.

14. മാഖീരിന്നു ഞാന് ഗിലെയാദ് ദേശം കൊടുത്തു.

14. (Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth-jair, to this day.)

15. രൂബേന്യര്ക്കും ഗാദ്യര്ക്കും ഗിലെയാദ് മുതല് അര്ന്നോന് താഴ്വരയുടെ മദ്ധ്യപ്രദേശവും അതിരും അമ്മോന്യരുടെ അതിരായ യബ്ബോക് തോടുവരെയും

15. And I gave Gilead to Machir.

16. കിന്നേറെത്ത് തുടങ്ങി കിഴക്കോട്ടു പിസ്ഗയുടെ ചരിവിന്നു താഴെ ഉപ്പുകടലായ അരാബയിലെ കടല്വരെ അരാബയും യോര്ദ്ദാന് പ്രദേശവും ഞാന് കൊടുത്തു.

16. And I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and the border of it, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the sons of Ammon,

17. അക്കാലത്തു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചതുനിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഈ ദേശത്തെ അവകാശമായി തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളില് യുദ്ധപ്രാപ്തന്മാരായ എല്ലാവരും യിസ്രായേല്യരായ നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും മുമ്പായി യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി കടന്നുപോകേണം

17. also the Arabah, and the Jordan and the border of it, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.

18. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും മക്കളും നിങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകളും ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളില് പാര്ക്കട്ടെ; ആടുമാടുകള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വളരെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു എനിക്കു അറിയാം.

18. And I commanded you at that time, saying, LORD your God has given you this land to possess it. Ye shall pass over armed before your brothers the sons of Israel, all the men of valor.

19. യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും സ്വസ്ഥത നലകുകയും യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തെ അവര് കൈവശമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുവോളം തന്നേ. പിന്നെ നിങ്ങള് ഔരോരുത്തന് ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള അവകാശത്തിന്നു മടങ്ങിപ്പോരേണം.

19. But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (I know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you

20. അക്കാലത്തു ഞാന് യോശുവയോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചതുനിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആ രണ്ടു രാജാക്കന്മാരോടു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും നീ കണ്ണാലെ കണ്ടുവല്ലോ; നീ കടന്നുചെല്ലുന്ന സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളോടും യഹോവ അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യും.

20. until LORD gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which LORD your God gives them beyond the Jordan, then ye shall return every man to his possession, which I have given you.

21. നിങ്ങള് അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയല്ലോ നിങ്ങള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

21. And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that LORD your God has done to these two kings. So shall LORD do to all the kingdoms where thou go over.

22. അക്കാലത്തു ഞാന് യഹോവയോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു

22. Ye shall not fear them, for LORD your God, he it is who fights for you.

23. കര്ത്താവായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ മഹത്വവും നിന്റെ ഭുജവിര്യവും അടിയനെ കാണിച്ചുതുടങ്ങിയല്ലോ; നിന്റെ ക്രിയകള്പോലെയും നിന്റെ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികള്പോലെയും ചെയ്വാന് കഴിയുന്ന ദൈവം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലാകട്ടെ ഭൂമിയിലാകട്ടെ ആരുള്ളു?

23. And I besought LORD at that time, saying,

24. ഞാന് കടന്നുചെന്നു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുള്ള നല്ല ദേശവും മനോഹരമായ പര്വ്വതവും ലെബാനോനും ഒന്നു കണ്ടുകൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. O lord LORD, thou have begun to show thy servant thy greatness, and thy strong hand, for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy mighty acts?

25. എന്നാല് യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിമിത്തം എന്നോടു കോപിച്ചിരുന്നു; എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടതുമില്ല. യഹോവ എന്നോടുമതി; ഈ കാര്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇനി എന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കരുതു;

25. Let me go over, I pray thee, and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.

26. പിസ്ഗയുടെ മുകളില് കയറി തല പൊക്കി പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും വടക്കോട്ടും തെക്കോട്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടും നോക്കിക്കാണ്ക;

26. But LORD was angry with me because of you, and did not hearken to me. And LORD said to me, It shall be enough for thee. Speak no more to me of this matter.

27. ഈ യോര്ദ്ദാന് നീ കടക്കയില്ല; യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചു അവനെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തി ഉറപ്പിക്ക; അവന് നായകനായി ഈ ജനത്തെ അക്കരെ കടത്തും; നീ കാണുന്ന ദേശം അവന് അവര്ക്കും അവകാശമായി പങ്കിട്ടു കൊടുക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

27. Get thee up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold with thine eyes, for thou shall not go over this Jordan.

28. അങ്ങനെ നാം ബേത്ത്--പെയോരിന്നെതിരെ താഴ്വരയില് പാര്ത്തു.

28. But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him, for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shall see.
