1. നിങ്ങള് കൈവശമാക്കുവാന് കടന്നുചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങള് അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ ജീവകാലം ഒക്കെയും നീയും നിന്റെ മകനും മകന്റെ മകനും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ എല്ലാചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നും

1. 'And this [is] the command, the statutes and the judgments which Jehovah your God hath commanded to teach you, to do in the land which ye are passing over thither to possess it,

2. നീ ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നുമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരുവാന് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും ഇവ ആകുന്നു.

2. so that thou dost fear Jehovah thy God, to keep all His statutes and His commands, which I am commanding thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all days of thy life, and so that thy days are prolonged.

3. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേലേ, നിനക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങള് ഏറ്റവും വര്ദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നീ കേട്ടു ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്ക.

3. 'And thou hast heard, O Israel, and observed to do, that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest multiply exceedingly, as Jehovah, God of thy fathers, hath spoken to thee, [in] the land flowing with milk and honey.

4. യിസ്രായേലേ, കേള്ക്ക; യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമാകുന്നു; യഹോവ ഏകന് തന്നേ.

4. 'Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God [is] one Jehovah;

5. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ പൂര്ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂര്ണ്ണമനസ്സോടും പൂര്ണ്ണശക്തിയോടും കൂടെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

5. and thou hast loved Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might,

6. and these words which I am commanding thee to-day have been on thine heart,

7. നീ അവയെ നിന്റെ മക്കള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും നീ വീട്ടില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോഴും വഴി നടക്കുമ്പോഴും കിടക്കുമ്പോഴും എഴുന്നേലക്കുമ്പോഴും അവയെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിക്കയും വേണം.

7. and thou hast repeated them to thy sons, and spoken of them in thy sitting in thine house, and in thy walking in the way, and in thy lying down, and in thy rising up,

8. അവയെ അടയാളമായി നിന്റെ കൈമേല് കെട്ടേണം; അവ നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകള്ക്കു മദ്ധ്യേ പട്ടമായി ഇരിക്കേണം.

8. and hast bound them for a sign upon thy hand, and they have been for frontlets between thine eyes,

9. അവയെ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിന്റെ കട്ടിളകളിന് മേലും പടിവാതിലുകളിലും എഴുതേണം.

9. and thou hast written them on door-posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

10. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുമെന്നു അബ്രാഹാം, യിസ്ഹാക്, യാക്കോബ്, എന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു നീ പണിയാത്ത വലുതും നല്ലതുമായ പട്ടണങ്ങളും

10. 'And it hath been, when Jehovah thy God doth bring thee in unto the land which He hath sworn to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to thee -- cities great and good, which thou hast not built,

11. നീ നിറെക്കാതെ സകലസമ്പത്തും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന വീടുകളും നീ കുഴിക്കാത്ത കിണറുകളും നീ നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കാത്ത മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും ഒലിവുതോട്ടങ്ങളും നിനക്കു തരികയും നീ തിന്നു തൃപ്തി പ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്

11. and houses full of all good things which thou hast not filled, and wells digged which thou hast not digged, vineyards and olive-yards which thou hast not planted, and thou hast eaten, and been satisfied;

12. നിന്നെ അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയെ മറക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

12. 'Take heed to thyself lest thou forget Jehovah who hath brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants;

13. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ സേവിക്കേണം; അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് സത്യം ചെയ്യേണം.

13. Jehovah thy God thou dost fear, and Him thou dost serve, and by His name thou dost swear;

14. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി ജ്വലിച്ചു നിന്നെ ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ചുറ്റുമിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാരായ അന്യ ദൈവങ്ങളുടെ പിന്നാലെ നീ പോകരുതു;

14. ye do not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who [are] round about you;

15. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ തീക്ഷണതയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകുന്നു.

15. for a zealous God [is] Jehovah thy God in thy midst -- lest the anger of Jehovah thy God burn against thee, and He hath destroyed thee from off the face of the ground.

16. നിങ്ങള് മസ്സയില്വെച്ചു പരീക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുതു.

16. 'Ye do not try Jehovah your God as ye tried in Massah;

17. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കല്പനകളും സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും നിങ്ങള് ജാഗ്രതയോടെ പ്രമാണിക്കേണം.

17. ye do diligently keep the commands of Jehovah your God, and His testimonies, and His statutes which He hath commanded thee,

18. നിനക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും യഹോവ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത നല്ലദേശം നീ ചെന്നു കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ

18. and thou hast done that which is right and good in the eyes of Jehovah, so that it is well with thee, and thou hast gone in and possessed the good land which Jehovah hath sworn to thy fathers,

19. നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഔടിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നും നീ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ന്യായവും ഹിതവുമായുള്ളതിനെ ചെയ്യേണം.

19. to drive away all thine enemies from thy presence, as Jehovah hath spoken.

20. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും എന്തു എന്നു നാളെ നിന്റെ മകന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള് നീ നിന്റെ മകനോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്

20. 'When thy son asketh thee hereafter, saying, What [are] the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Jehovah our God hath commanded you?

21. ഞങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില് ഫറവോന്നു അടിമകള് ആയിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു.

21. then thou hast said to thy son, Servants we have been to Pharaoh in Egypt, and Jehovah bringeth us out of Egypt by a high hand;

22. മിസ്രയീമിന്റെയും ഫറവോന്റെയും അവന്റെ സകലകുടുംബത്തിന്റെയും മേല് ഞങ്ങള് കാണ്കെ യഹോവ മഹത്തും ഉഗ്രവുമായുള്ള അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു.

22. and Jehovah giveth signs and wonders, great and sad, on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his house, before our eyes;

23. ഞങ്ങളേയോ താന് നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശം തരുവാന് അതില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു

23. and us He hath brought out thence, in order to bring us in, to give to us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.

24. എല്ലായ്പോഴും നമുക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഇന്നത്തെപ്പോലെ അവന് നമ്മെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നുമായി നാം നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുവാനും ഈ എല്ലാ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും ആചരിപ്പാനും യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

24. And Jehovah commandeth us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God, for good to ourselves all the days, to keep us alive, as [at] this day;

25. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നാം അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഈ സകലകല്പനകളും ആചരിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു എങ്കില് നാം നീതിയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കും.

25. and righteousness it is for us, when we observe to do all this command before Jehovah our God, as He hath commanded us.
