1. എന്റെ മകനേ, ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള കൃപയാല് ശക്തിപ്പെടുക.

1. Thou therefore, my sonne, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Iesus.

2. നീ പല സാക്ഷികളുടെ മുമ്പാകെ എന്നോടു കേട്ടതെല്ലാം മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ഉപദേശിപ്പാന് സമര്ത്ഥരായ വിശ്വസ്ഥമനുഷ്യരെ ഭരമേല്പിക്ക.

2. And what things thou hast heard of me, by many witnesses, ye same deliuer to faithfull men, which shalbe able to teache other also.

3. ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്റെ നല്ല ഭടനായി നീയും എന്നോടുകൂടെ കഷ്ടം സഹിക്ക.

3. Thou therefore suffer affliction as a good souldier of Iesus Christ.

4. പട ചേര്ത്തവനെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യാതൊരു പടയാളിയും ജീവനകാര്യങ്ങളില് ഇടപെടാതിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. No man that warreth, entangleth himselfe with the affaires of this life, because he woulde please him that hath chosen him to be a souldier.

5. ഒരുത്തന് മല്ലുകെട്ടിയാലും ചട്ടപ്രകാരം പൊരായ്കില് കിരീടം പ്രാപിക്കയില്ല.

5. And if any man also striue for a Masterie, he is not crowned, except he striue as he ought to doe.

6. അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്ന കൃഷിക്കാരന് ആകുന്നു ആദ്യം ഫലം അനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടതു.

6. The husbandman must labour before he receiue the fruites.

7. ഞാന് പറയുന്നതു ചിന്തിച്ചുകൊള്ക. കര്ത്താവു സകലത്തിലും നിനക്കു ബുദ്ധി നലകുമല്ലോ;

7. Consider what I say: and the Lord giue thee vnderstanding in all things:

8. ദാവീദിന്റെ സന്തതിയായി ജനിച്ചു മരിച്ചിട്ടു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്ന യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനെ ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക.

8. Remember that Iesus Christ, made of the seede of Dauid, was raysed againe from the dead according to my Gospel,

9. അതു ആകുന്നു എന്റെ സുവിശേഷം. അതു അറിയിക്കുന്നതില് ഞാന് ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരന് എന്നപോലെ ചങ്ങലധരിച്ചു കഷ്ടം സഹിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവവചനത്തിന്നോ ബന്ധനം ഇല്ല.

9. Wherein I suffer trouble as an euill doer, euen vnto bondes: but the worde of God is not bounde.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള രക്ഷ നിത്യതേജസ്സോടുകൂടെ വൃതന്മാര്ക്കും കിട്ടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവര്ക്കായി സകലവും സഹിക്കുന്നു.

10. Therefore I suffer all things, for the elects sake, that they might also obtaine the saluation which is in Christ Iesus, with eternall glorie.

11. നാം അവനോടുകൂടെ മരിച്ചു എങ്കില് കൂടെ ജീവിക്കും; സഹിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് കൂടെ വാഴും;

11. It is a true saying, For if we be dead together with him, we also shall liue together with him.

12. നാം തള്ളിപ്പറയും എങ്കില് അവന് നമ്മെയും തള്ളിപ്പറയും.

12. If we suffer, we shall also reigne together with him: if we denie him, he also will denie vs.

13. നാം അവിശ്വസ്തരായിത്തീര്ന്നാലും അവന് വിശ്വസ്തനായി പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; തന്റെ സ്വഭാവം ത്യജിപ്പാന് അവന്നു കഴികയില്ലല്ലോ; ഈ വചനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യമാകുന്നു.

13. If we beleeue not, yet abideth he faithfull: he cannot denie himselfe.

14. കേള്ക്കുന്നവരെ മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നതിനാല്ലാതെ ഒന്നിന്നും കൊള്ളാത്ത വാഗ്വാദം ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണമെന്നു കര്ത്താവിനെ സാക്ഷിയാക്കി അവരെ ഔര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുക.

14. Of these things put them in remembrance, and protest before the Lord, that they striue not about wordes, which is to no profit, but to the peruerting of the hearers.

15. സത്യവചനത്തെ യഥാര്ത്ഥമായി പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ലജ്ജിപ്പാന് സംഗതിയില്ലാത്ത വേലക്കാരനായി ദൈവത്തിന്നു കൊള്ളാകുന്നവനായി നില്പാന് ശ്രമിക്ക.

15. Studie to shewe thy selfe approued vnto God, a workeman that needeth not to be ashamed, diuiding the worde of trueth aright.

16. ഭക്തിവിരുദ്ധമായ വൃഥാലാപങ്ങളെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്ക; ആ വകക്കാര്ക്കും അഭക്തി അധികം മുതിര്ന്നുവരും;

16. Stay prophane, and vaine babblings: for they shall encrease vnto more vngodlinesse.

17. അവരുടെ വാക്കു അര്ബ്ബുദവ്യാധിപോലെ തിന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.

17. And their worde shall fret as a canker: of which sort is Hymeneus and Philetus,

18. ഹുമനയോസും ഫിലേത്തൊസും അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ഉള്ളവരാകുന്നു; അവര് സത്യം വിട്ടു തെറ്റിപുനരുത്ഥാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ചിലരുടെ വിശ്വാസം മറിച്ചു കളയുന്നു.

18. Which as concerning ye trueth haue erred from the marke, saying that the resurrection is past alreadie, and do destroy the faith of certaine.

19. എങ്കിലും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥിരമായ അടിസ്ഥാനം നിലനിലക്കുന്നു; കര്ത്താവു തനിക്കുള്ളവരെ അറിയുന്നു എന്നും കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാമം ഉച്ചരിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം അനീതി വിട്ടകന്നുകൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നും ആകുന്നു അതിന്റെ മുദ്ര.

19. But the foundation of God remaineth sure, and hath this seale, The Lord knoweth who are his: and, Let euery one that calleth on the Name of Christ, depart from iniquitie.

20. എന്നാല് ഒരു വലിയ വീട്ടില് പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും കൊണ്ടുള്ള സാമാനങ്ങള് മാത്രമല്ല, മരവും മണ്ണുംകൊണ്ടുള്ളവയും ഉണ്ടു; ചിലതു മാന്യകാര്യത്തിന്നും ചിലതു ഹീനകാര്യത്തിന്നും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.

20. Notwithstanding in a great house are not onely vessels of gold and of siluer, but also of wood and of earth, and some for honour, and some vnto dishonour.

21. ഇവയെ വിട്ടകന്നു തന്നെത്താന് വെടിപ്പാക്കുന്നവന് വിശുദ്ധവും ഉടമസ്ഥന്നു ഉപയോഗവുമായി നല്ല വേലെക്കു ഒക്കെയും ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്ന മാന പാത്രം ആയിരിക്കും.

21. If any man therefore purge him selfe from these, he shalbe a vessell vnto honour, sanctified, and meete for the Lord, and prepared vnto euery good worke.

22. യൌവനമോഹങ്ങളെ വിട്ടോടി നീതിയും വിശ്വാസവും സ്നേഹവും ശുദ്ധഹൃദയത്തോടെ കര്ത്താവിനെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരോടും സമാധാനവും ആചരിക്ക.

22. Flee also from the lustes of youth, and follow after righteousnes, faith, loue, and peace, with them that call on the Lord with pure heart,

23. ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത മൌഢ്യതര്ക്കം ശണ്ഠ ജനിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നറിഞ്ഞു അതു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്ക.

23. And put away foolish and vnlearned questions, knowing that they ingender strife.

24. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ദാസന് ശണ്ഠ ഇടാതെ എല്ലാവരോടും ശാന്തനും ഉപദേശിപ്പാന് സമര്ത്ഥനും ദോഷം സഹിക്കുന്നവനുമായി അത്രേ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതു.

24. But the seruant of ye Lord must not striue, but must be gentle toward all men, apt to teache, suffering the euill,

25. വിരോധികള്ക്കു ദൈവം സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്നായി മാനസാന്തരം നലകുമോ എന്നും

25. Instructing them with meekenesse that are contrary minded, prouing if God at any time will giue them repentance, that they may acknowledge the trueth,

26. പിശാചിനാല് പിടിപെട്ടു കുടുങ്ങിയവരാകയാല് അവര് സുബോധം പ്രാപിച്ചു അവന്റെ കണിയില് നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞു ദൈവേഷ്ടം ചെയ്യുമോ എന്നും വെച്ചു അവരെ സൌമ്യതയോടെ പഠിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതും ആകുന്നു.

26. And come to amendment out of that snare of the deuil, of whom they are taken prisoners, to doe his will.
