1. വിശ്വാസം എന്നതോ, ആശിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഉറപ്പും കാണാത്ത കാര്യങ്ങളുടെ നിശ്ചയവും ആകുന്നു.

1. Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2. അതിനാലല്ലോ പൂര്വ്വന്മാര്ക്കും സാക്ഷ്യം ലഭിച്ചതു.

2. For by it the elders bore witness.

3. ഈ കാണുന്ന ലോകത്തിന്നു ദൃശ്യമായതല്ല കാരണം എന്നു വരുമാറു ലോകം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനത്താല് നിര്മ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു നാം വിശ്വാസത്താല് അറിയുന്നു.

3. By faith we understand that the universe was prepared by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen did not come into existence from things which are visible.

13. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were foreigners and pilgrims on the earth.

14. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland.

39. And all these, having borne witness through faith, did not obtain the promise,
