1. അതുകൊണ്ടു വിശുദ്ധ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗീയവിളിക്കു ഔഹരിക്കാരായുള്ളോരേ, നാം സ്വീകരിച്ചുപറയുന്ന അപ്പൊസ്തലനും മഹാപുരോഹിതനുമായ യേശുവിനെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുനോക്കുവിന് .

1. Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the apostle and chief priest of our profession, Christ Jesus,

2. മോശെ ദൈവഭവനത്തില് ഒക്കെയും വിശ്വസ്തനായിരുന്നതുപോല യേശുവും തന്നെ നിയമിച്ചാക്കിയവന്നു വിശ്വസ്തന് ആകുന്നു.

2. being stedfast to Him who did appoint him, as also Moses in all his house,

3. ഭവനത്തെക്കാളും ഭവനം ചമെച്ചവന്നു അധികം മാനമുള്ളതുപോലെ യേശുവും മോശെയെക്കാള് അധികം മഹത്വത്തിന്നു യോഗ്യന് എന്നു എണ്ണിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. for of more glory than Moses hath this one been counted worthy, inasmuch as more honour than the house hath he who doth build it,

4. ഏതു ഭവനവും ചമെപ്പാന് ഒരാള് വേണം; സര്വ്വവും ചമച്ചവന് ദൈവം തന്നേ.

4. for every house is builded by some one, and He who the all things did build [is] God,

5. അവന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് ഒക്കെയും മോശെ വിശ്വസ്തനായിരുന്നതു അരുളിച്ചെയ്വാനിരുന്നതിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്ന ഭൃത്യനായിട്ടത്രേ.

5. and Moses indeed [was] stedfast in all his house, as an attendant, for a testimony of those things that were to be spoken,

6. ക്രിസ്തുവോ അവന്റെ ഭവനത്തിന്നു അധികാരിയായ പുത്രനായിട്ടു തന്നേ; പ്രത്യാശയുടെ ധൈര്യ്യവും പ്രശംസയും നാം അവസാനത്തോളം മുറുകെപ്പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാല് നാം തന്നേ അവന്റെ ഭവനം ആകുന്നു.

6. and Christ, as a Son over his house, whose house are we, if the boldness and the rejoicing of the hope unto the end we hold fast.

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ

7. Wherefore, (as the Holy Spirit saith, 'To-day, if His voice ye may hear --

8. “ഇന്നു നിങ്ങള് അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേള്ക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് മരുഭൂമിയില്വെച്ചു പരീക്ഷാദിവസത്തിലെ മത്സരത്തില് എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം കഠിനമാക്കരുതു.

8. ye may not harden your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of the temptation in the wilderness,

9. അവിടെവെച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് എന്നെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു നാല്പതു ആണ്ടു എന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ കണ്ടിട്ടും എന്നെ ശോധനചെയ്തു.

9. in which tempt Me did your fathers, they did prove Me, and saw My works forty years;

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു ആ തലമുറയോടു നീരസം ഉണ്ടായി. അവര് എപ്പോഴും തെറ്റിപ്പോകുന്ന ഹൃദയമുള്ളവര് എന്നും എന്റെ വഴികളെ അറിയാത്തവര് എന്നും ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു;

10. wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, Always do they go astray in heart, and these have not known My ways;

11. അവര് എന്റെ സ്വസ്ഥതയില് പ്രവേശിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് എന്റെ ക്രോധത്തില് സത്യം ചെയ്തു.”

11. so I sware in My anger, If they shall enter into My rest -- !')

12. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തെ ത്യജിച്ചുകളയാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിശ്വാസമുള്ള ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയം നിങ്ങളില് ആര്ക്കും ഉണ്ടാകാതിരിപ്പാന് നോക്കുവിന് .

12. See, brethren, lest there shall be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in the falling away from the living God,

13. നിങ്ങള് ആരും പാപത്തിന്റെ ചതിയാല് കഠിനപ്പെടാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു “ഇന്നു” എന്നു പറയുന്നേടത്തോളം നാള്തോറും അന്യോന്യം പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

13. but exhort ye one another every day, while the To-day is called, that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of the sin,

14. ആദ്യവിശ്വാസം അവസാനത്തോളം മുറുകെപ്പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാല് നാം ക്രിസ്തുവില് പങ്കാളികളായിത്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

14. for partakers we have become of the Christ, if the beginning of the confidence unto the end we may hold fast,

15. “ഇന്നു നിങ്ങള് അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേള്ക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് മത്സരത്തില് എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ കഠിനമാക്കരുതു” എന്നു പറയുന്നതില് ആരാകുന്നു

15. in its being said, 'To-day, if His voice ye may hear, ye may not harden your hearts, as in the provocation,'

16. കേട്ടിട്ടു മത്സരിച്ചവര്? മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു മോശെ മുഖാന്തരം പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നവര് എല്ലാവരുമല്ലോ.

16. for certain having heard did provoke, but not all who did come out of Egypt through Moses;

17. നാല്പതു ആണ്ടു ആരോടു ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു? പാപം ചെയ്തവരോടല്ലയോ?

17. but with whom was He grieved forty years? was it not with those who did sin, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?

18. അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങള് മരുഭൂമിയില് വീണുപോയി. എന്റെ സ്വസ്ഥതയില് പ്രവേശിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ആണയിട്ടതു അനുസരണംകെട്ടവരോടല്ലാതെ പിന്നെ ആരോടാകുന്നു?

18. and to whom did He swear that they shall not enter into His rest, except to those who did not believe? --

19. ഇങ്ങനെ അവിശ്വാസം നിമിത്തം അവര്ക്കും പ്രവേശിപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു നാം കാണുന്നു.

19. and we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.
