1. ഏഹൂദ് മരിച്ചശേഷം യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് വീണ്ടും യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

1. And the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of Jehovah when Ehud was dead.

2. യഹോവ അവരെ ഹാസോരില്വാണ കനാന്യരാജാവായ യാബീന്നു വിറ്റുകളഞ്ഞു; അവന്റെ സേനാപതി ജാതികളുടെ ഹരോശെത്തില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന സീസെരാ ആയിരുന്നു.

2. And Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who ruled in Hazor. The captain of his host was Sisera who lived in Harosheth of the nations.

3. അവന്നു തൊള്ളായിരം ഇരിമ്പുരഥം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവന് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെ ഇരുപതു സംവത്സരം കഠിനമായി ഞെരുക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു.

3. And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron. And he mightily oppressed the sons of Israel twenty years.

4. ആ കാലത്തു ലപ്പീദോത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ ദെബോരാ എന്ന പ്രവാചകി യിസ്രായേലില് ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്തു.

4. And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, judged Israel at that time.

5. അവള് എഫ്രയീംപര്വ്വതത്തില് രാമെക്കും ബേഥേലിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേയുള്ള ദെബോരയുടെ ഈന്തപ്പനയുടെ കീഴില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്നു; യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിന്നു അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലുക പതിവായിരുന്നു.

5. And she lived under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim. And the sons of Israel came up to her for judgment.

6. അവള് അബീനോവാമിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരാക്കിനെ കേദെശ്--നഫ്താലിയില്നിന്നു വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവനോടുനീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു താബോര്പര്വ്വതത്തില് ചെന്നു നഫ്താലിയുടെയും സെബൂലൂന്റെയും മക്കളില് പതിനായിരം പേരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊള്ക;

6. And she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, Has not Jehovah, the God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun?

7. ഞാന് യാബീന്റെ സേനാപതി സീസെരയെയും അവന്റെ രഥങ്ങളെയും സൈന്യത്തെയും കീശോന് തോട്ടിന്നരികെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു നിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കുമെന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. And I will draw Sisera to you, the captain of Jabin's army, at the river Kishon, together with his chariots and his multitude. And I will deliver him into your hands.

8. ബാരാക് അവളോടുനീ എന്നോടു കൂടെ വരുന്നെങ്കില് ഞാന് പോകാം; നീ വരുന്നില്ല എങ്കില് ഞാന് പോകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. And Barak said to her, If you will go with me, then I will go. But if you will not go with me, I will not go.

9. അതിന്നു അവള്ഞാന് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പോരാം; എന്നാല് നീ പേകുന്ന യാത്രയാല് ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ബഹുമാനം നിനക്കു വരികയില്ല; യഹോവ സീസെരയെ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ദെബോരാ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ബാരാക്കിനോടുകൂടെ കേദേശിലേക്കു പോയി.

9. And she said, I will surely go with you. But the journey that you take shall not be for your honor, for Jehovah shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

10. ബാരാക് സെബൂലൂനെയും നഫ്താലിയെയും കേദെശില് വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; അവനോടുകൂടെ പതിനായിരംപേര് കയറിച്ചെന്നു; ദെബോരയുംകൂടെ കയറിച്ചെന്നു.

10. And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh. And he went up with ten thousand men at his feet. And Deborah went up with him.

11. എന്നാല് കേന്യനായ ഹേബെര് മോശെയുടെ അളിയന് ഹോബാബിന്റെ മക്കളായ കേന്യരെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞു കേദെശിന്നരികെയുള്ള സാനന്നീമിലെ കരുവേലകംവരെ കൂടാരം അടിച്ചിരുന്നു.

11. And Heber the Kenite, of the sons of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, had separated himself from the Kenites and pitched his tent toward the plain of Zaanaim, near Kedesh.

12. അബീനോവാബിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരാക് താബോര്പര്വ്വതത്തില് കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സീസെരെക്കു അറിവുകിട്ടി.

12. And they told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor.

13. സീസെരാ തന്റെ തൊള്ളായിരം ഇരിമ്പുരഥവുമായി തന്റെ എല്ലാ പടജ്ജനത്തെയും ജാതികളുടെ ഹരോശെത്തില്നിന്നു കീശോന് തോട്ടിന്നരികെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി.

13. And Sisera gathered all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people with him, from Harosheth of the nations to the river of Kishon.

14. അപ്പോള് ദെബോരാ ബാരാക്കിനോടുപുറപ്പെട്ടുചെല്ലുക; യഹോവ ഇന്നു സീസെരയെ നിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ബാരാക്കും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ പതിനായിരംപേരും താബോര്പര്വ്വതത്തില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു,

14. And Deborah said to Barak, Up! For this is the day in which Jehovah has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not Jehovah gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

15. യഹോവ സീസെരയെയും അവന്റെ സകലരഥങ്ങളെയും സൈന്യത്തെയും ബാരാക്കിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല് തോല്പിച്ചു; സീസെരാ രഥത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി കാല്നടയായി ഔടിപ്പോയി.

15. And Jehovah struck Sisera, and all the chariots, and all the army, with the edge of the sword in front of Barak, so that Sisera got down from the chariot and fled on his feet.

16. ബാരാക് രഥങ്ങളെയും സൈന്യത്തെയും ജാതികളുടെ ഹരോശെത്ത്വരെ ഔടിച്ചു സീസെരയുടെ സൈന്യമൊക്കെയും വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല് വീണു; ഒരുത്തനും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല.

16. But Barak pursued the chariots and after the army, to Harosheth of the nations. And all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword. There was not a man left.

17. എന്നാല് സീസെരാ കാല്നടയായി കേന്യനായ ഹേബെരിന്റെ ഭാര്യ യായേലിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോയി; കേന്യനായ ഹേബെരിന്റെ ഗൃഹവും ഹാസോര് രാജാവായ യാബീനും തമ്മില് സമാധാനം ആയിരുന്നു.

17. And Sisera fled on his feet to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite. For there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

18. യായേല് സീസെരയെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു അവനോടുഇങ്ങോട്ടു കയറിക്കൊള്ക, യജമാനനേ, ഇങ്ങോട്ടു കയറിക്കൊള്ക; ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് കൂടാരത്തില് കയറിച്ചെന്നു; അവള് അവനെ ഒരു പരവതാനികൊണ്ടു മൂടി.

18. And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, Turn in my lord, turn in to me. Do not fear. When he had turned in to her into the tent, she covered him with a rug.

19. അവന് അവളോടുഎനിക്കു ദാഹിക്കുന്നു; കുടിപ്പാന് കുറെ വെള്ളം തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവള് പാല്തുരുത്തി തുറന്നു അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്തു; പിന്നെയും അവനെ മൂടി.

19. And he said to her, Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty. And she opened a skin of milk and gave him a drink, and covered him.

20. അവന് അവളോടുനീ കൂടാരവാതില്ക്കല് നില്ക്ക; വല്ലവനും വന്നു ഇവിടെ ആരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചാല് ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. Again he said to her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be when any man comes asking of you, saying, Is there any man here? You shall say, No.

21. എന്നാല് ഹേബെരിന്റെ ഭാര്യ യായേല് കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ ഒരു കുറ്റി എടുത്തു കയ്യില് ചുറ്റികയും പിടിച്ചു പതുക്കെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു കുറ്റി അവന്റെ ചെന്നിയില് തറെച്ചു; അതു നിലത്തു ചെന്നു ഉറെച്ചു; അവന്നു ഗാഢനിദ്ര ആയിരുന്നു; അവന് ബോധംകെട്ടു മരിച്ചുപോയി.

21. Then Jael, Heber's wife, took a peg of the tent and put a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him, and struck the peg into his temple, and beat it into the ground. For he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

22. ബാരാക് സീസെരയെ തിരഞ്ഞു ചെല്ലുമ്പോള് യായേല് അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു അവനോടുവരിക, നീ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന ആളെ ഞാന് കാണിച്ചുതരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നപ്പോള് സീസെരാ ചെന്നിയില് കുറ്റിയുമായി മരിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

22. And behold, as Barak followed Sisera, Jael came out to meet him and said to him, Come and I will show you the man whom you seek. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the peg was in his temple.

23. ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം അന്നു കനാന്യ രാജാവായ യാബീനെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു കീഴടക്കി.

23. And on that day God subdued Jabin the king of Canaan before the sons of Israel.

24. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് കനാന്യരാജാവായ യാബീനെ നിര്മ്മൂലമാക്കുംവരെ അവരുടെ കൈ കനാന്യരാജാവായ യാബീന്നു മേലക്കുമേല് ഭാരമായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

24. And the hand of the sons of Israel went on, and pressed hard against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
