1. അന്നു ദെബോരയും അബീനോവാമിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരാക്കും പാട്ടുപാടിയതു എന്തെന്നാല്

1. Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,

2. നായകന്മാര് യിസ്രായേലിനെ നയിച്ചതിന്നും ജനം സ്വമേധയാ സേവിച്ചതിന്നും യഹോവയെ വാഴ്ത്തുവിന് .

2. For that the leaders took the lead in Israel, For that the people offered themselves willingly, Bless ye Jehovah.

3. രാജാക്കന്മാരേ, കേള്പ്പിന് ; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരേ, ചെവിതരുവിന് ; ഞാന് പാടും യഹോവേക്കു ഞാന് പാടും; യിസ്രായേലിന് ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു കീര്ത്തനം ചെയ്യും.

3. Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, [even] I, will sing unto Jehovah; I will sing praise to Jehovah, the God of Israel.

4. യഹോവേ, നീ സേയീരില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുകയില്, ഏദോമ്യദേശത്തുകൂടി നീ നടകൊള്കയില്, ഭൂമി കുലുങ്ങി, ആകാശം പൊഴിഞ്ഞു, മേഘങ്ങള് വെള്ളം ചൊരിഞ്ഞു,

4. Jehovah, when thou wentest forth out of Seir, When thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, The earth trembled, the heavens also dropped, Yea, the clouds dropped water.

5. യഹോവാസന്നിധിയില് മലകള് കുലുങ്ങി, യിസ്രായേലിന് ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു മുമ്പില് ആ സീനായി തന്നേ.

5. The mountains quaked at the presence of Jehovah, Even yon Sinai at the presence of Jehovah, the God of Israel.

6. അനാത്തിന് പുത്രനാം ശംഗരിന് നാളിലും, യായേലിന് കാലത്തും പാതകള് ശൂന്യമായി. വഴിപോക്കര് വളഞ്ഞ വഴികളില് നടന്നു.

6. In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, In the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, And the travellers walked through byways.

7. ദെബോരയായ ഞാന് എഴുന്നേലക്കുംവരെ, യിസ്രായേലില് മാതാവായെഴുന്നേലക്കുംവരെ നായകന്മാര് യിസ്രായേലില് അശേഷം അറ്റുപോയിരുന്നു.

7. The rulers ceased in Israel, they ceased, Until that I Deborah arose, That I arose a mother in Israel.

8. അവര് നൂതനദേവന്മാരെ വരിച്ചു; ഗോപുരദ്വാരത്തിങ്കല് യുദ്ധംഭവിച്ചു. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ നാല്പതിനായിരത്തിന് മദ്ധ്യേ പരിചയും കുന്തവും കണ്ടതേയില്ല.

8. They chose new gods; Then was war in the gates: Was there a shield or spear seen Among forty thousand in Israel?

9. എന്റെ ഹൃദയം യിസ്രായേല്നായകന്മാരോടു പറ്റുന്നു; ജനത്തിലെ സ്വമേധാസേവകരേ, യഹോവയെ വാഴ്ത്തുവിന് .

9. My heart is toward the governors of Israel, That offered themselves willingly among the people: Bless ye Jehovah.

10. വെള്ളക്കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കയറുന്നവരേ, പരവതാനികളില് ഇരിക്കുന്നവരേ, കാല്നടയായി പോകുന്നവരേ, വര്ണ്ണിപ്പിന് !

10. Tell [of it], ye that ride on white asses, Ye that sit on rich carpets, And ye that walk by the way.

11. വില്ലാളികളുടെ ഞാണൊലിയോടകലേ നീര്പ്പാത്തിക്കിടയില് അവിടെ അവര് യഹോവയുടെ നീതികളെ യിസ്രായേലിലെ ഭരണനീതികളെ കഥിക്കും. യഹോവയുടെ ജനം അന്നു ഗോപുരദ്വാരത്തിങ്കല് ചെന്നു.

11. Far from the noise of archers, in the places of drawing water, There shall they rehearse the righteous acts of Jehovah, [Even] the righteous acts of his rule in Israel. Then the people of Jehovah went down to the gates.

12. ഉണരുക, ഉണരുക, ദെബോരയേ, ഉണരുക, ഉണര്ന്നു, പാട്ടുപാടുക. എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക, ബാരാക്കേ, അബീനോവാമാത്മജാ. നിന്റെ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോക.

12. Awake, awake, Deborah; Awake, awake, utter a song: Arise, Barak, and lead away thy captives, thou son of Abinoam.

13. അന്നു ശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാരുടെ ശിഷ്ടവും പടജ്ജനവും ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു. വീരന്മാരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ യഹോവയും എനിക്കായി ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു.

13. Then came down a remnant of the nobles [and] the people; Jehovah came down for me against the mighty.

14. എഫ്രയീമില്നിന്നു അമാലേക്കില് വേരുള്ളവരും, ബെന്യാമീനേ, നിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ നിന്റെ ജനസമൂഹത്തില് മാഖീരില്നിന്നു അധിപന്മാരും സെബൂലൂനില്നിന്നു നായകദണ്ഡധാരികളും വന്നു.

14. Out of Ephraim [came down] they whose root is in Amalek; After thee, Benjamin, among thy peoples; Out of Machir came down governors, And out of Zebulun they that handle the marshal's staff.

15. യിസ്സാഖാര് പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ദെബോരയോടുകൂടെ യിസ്സാഖാര് എന്നപോലെ ബാരാക്കും താഴ്വരയില് അവനോടുകൂടെ ചാടി പുറപ്പെട്ടു. രൂബേന്റെ നീര്ച്ചാലുകള്ക്കരികെ ഘനമേറിയ മനോനിര്ണ്ണയങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടായി.

15. And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; As was Issachar, so was Barak; Into the valley they rushed forth at his feet. By the watercourses of Reuben There were great resolves of heart.

16. ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടങ്ങള്ക്കരികെ കുഴലൂത്തു കേള്പ്പാന് നീ തൊഴുത്തുകള്ക്കിടയില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നതെന്തു? രൂബേന്റെ നീര്ച്ചാലുകള്ക്കരികെ ഘനമേറിയ മനോനിര്ണ്ണയങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടായി.

16. Why sattest thou among the sheepfolds, To hear the pipings for the flocks? At the watercourses of Reuben There were great searchings of heart.

17. ഗിലെയാദ് യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ പാര്ത്തു. ദാന് കപ്പലുകള്ക്കരികെ താമസിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? ആശേര് സമുദ്രതീരത്തു അനങ്ങാതിരുന്നു തുറമുഖങ്ങള്ക്കകത്തു പാര്ത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

17. Gilead abode beyond the Jordan: And Dan, why did he remain in ships? Asher sat still at the haven of the sea, And abode by his creeks.

18. സെബൂലൂന് പ്രാണനെ ത്യജിച്ച ജനം; നഫ്താലി പോര്ക്കളമേടുകളില് തന്നേ.

18. Zebulun was a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death, And Naphtali, upon the high places of the field.

19. രാജാക്കന്മാര് വന്നു പൊരുതുതാനാക്കില്വെച്ചു മെഗിദ്ദോവെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ കനാന്യഭൂപന്മാര് അന്നു പൊരുതു, വെള്ളിയങ്ങവര്ക്കും കൊള്ളയായില്ല.

19. The kings came and fought; Then fought the kings of Canaan. In Taanach by the waters of Megiddo: They took no gain of money.

20. ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു നക്ഷത്രങ്ങള് പൊരുതു അവ സീസെരയുമായി സ്വഗതികളില് പൊരുതു.

20. From heaven fought the stars, From their courses they fought against Sisera.

21. കീശോന് തോടു പുരാതനനദിയാം കീശോന് തോടു തള്ളിയങ്ങവരെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു പോയി. എന് മനമേ, നീ ബലത്തോടെ നടകൊള്ക.

21. The river Kishon swept them away, That ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, march on with strength.

22. അന്നു വല്ഗിതത്താല്, ശൂരവല്ഗിതത്താല് കുതിരകൂളമ്പുകള് ഘട്ടനം ചെയ്തു.

22. Then did the horsehoofs stamp By reason of the prancings, the prancings of their strong ones.

23. മേരോസ് നഗരത്തെ ശപിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് , അതിന് നിവാസികളെ ഉഗ്രമായി ശപിപ്പിന് എന്നു യഹോവാദൂതന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു. അവര് യഹോവേക്കു തുണയായി വന്നില്ലല്ലോ; ശൂരന്മാര്ക്കെതിരെ യഹോവേക്കു തുണയായി തന്നേ.

23. Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of Jehovah. Curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof, Because they came not to the help of Jehovah, To the help of Jehovah against the mighty.

24. കേന്യനാം ഹേബേരിന് ഭാര്യയാം യായേലോ നാരീജനത്തില് അനുഗ്രഹം ലഭിച്ചവള്, കൂടാരവാസിനീജനത്തില് അനുഗ്രഹം ലഭിച്ചവള്.

24. Blessed above women shall Jael be, The wife of Heber the Kenite; Blessed shall she be above women in the tent.

25. തണ്ണീര് അവന് ചോദിച്ചു, പാല് അവള് കൊടുത്തു; രാജകീയപാത്രത്തില് അവള് ക്ഷീരം കൊടുത്തു.

25. He asked water, [and] she gave him milk; She brought him butter in a lordly dish.

26. കുറ്റിയെടുപ്പാന് അവള് കൈനീട്ടി തന്റെ വലങ്കൈ പണിക്കാരുടെ ചുറ്റികെക്കുനീട്ടി; സീസെരയെ തല്ലി അവന്റെ തല തകര്ത്തു അവന്റെ ചെന്നി കുത്തിത്തുളെച്ചു.

26. She put her hand to the tent-pin, And her right hand to the workmen's hammer; And with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote through his head; Yea, she pierced and struck through his temples.

27. അവളുടെ കാല്ക്കല് അവന് കുനിഞ്ഞുവീണു, അവളുടെ കാല്ക്കല് അവന് കുനിഞ്ഞുവീണു കിടന്നു; കുനിഞ്ഞേടത്തു തന്നേ അവന് ചത്തുകിടന്നു.

27. At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay; At her feet he bowed, he fell; Where he bowed, there he fell down dead.

28. സീസെരയുടെ അമ്മ കിളിവാതിലൂടെ കുനിഞ്ഞുനിന്നു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. ജാലകത്തൂടെ വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞിതുഅവന്റെ തേര് വരുവാന് വൈകുന്നതു എന്തു? രഥചക്രങ്ങള്ക്കു താമസം എന്തു?

28. Through the window she looked forth, and cried, The mother of Sisera [cried] through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why tarry the wheels of his chariots?

29. ജ്ഞാനമേറിയ നായകിമാര് അതിന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു; താനും തന്നോടു മറുപടി ആവര്ത്തിച്ചു

29. Her wise ladies answered her, Yea, she returned answer to herself,

30. കിട്ടിയ കൊള്ള അവര് പങ്കിടുകയല്ലെയോ? ഔരോ പുരുഷന്നു ഒന്നും രണ്ടും പെണ്ണുങ്ങള്, സീസെരെക്കു കൊള്ള വിചിത്രവസ്ത്രം വിചിത്രത്തയ്യലായ കൊള്ളയും കൂടെ. കൊള്ളക്കാരുടെ കഴുത്തില് വിചിത്രശീല ഈരണ്ടു കാണും.

30. Have they not found, have they not divided the spoil? A damsel, two damsels to every man; To Sisera a spoil of dyed garments, A spoil of dyed garments embroidered, Of dyed garments embroidered on both sides, on the necks of the spoil?

31. യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് ഒക്കെയും ഇവ്വണം നശിക്കട്ടെ. അവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരോ സൂര്യന് പ്രതാപത്തോടെ ഉദിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ. പിന്നെ ദേശത്തിന്നു നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം സ്വസ്ഥത ഉണ്ടായി.

31. So let all thine enemies perish, O Jehovah: But let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.
