1. എന്നാല് ബോവസ് പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല് ചെന്നു അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു; ബോവസ് പറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരന് കടന്നുപോകുന്നതു കണ്ടുഎടോ, ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വന്നു ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് ചെന്നു അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു.

1. Then went Boaz vp to the gate, and sate there, and beholde, the kinsman, of whome Boaz had spoken, came by: and he sayd, Ho, snch one, come, sit downe here. And he turned, and sate downe.

2. പിന്നെ അവന് പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരില് പത്തുപേരെ വരുത്തി; ഇവിടെ ഇരിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവരും ഇരുന്നു.

2. Then he tooke ten men of the Elders of the citie, and sayd, Sit ye downe here. And they sate downe.

3. അപ്പോള് അവന് ആ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുമോവാബ് ദേശത്തുനിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്ന നൊവൊമി നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരനായ എലീമേലെക്കിന്റെ വയല് വിലക്കുന്നു. ആകയാല് നിന്നോടു അതു അറിയിപ്പാന് ഞാന് വിചാരിച്ചു; ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നവരുടെയും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നീ അതു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങുക;

3. And he said vnto ye kinsman, Naomi, that is come againe out of ye countrey of Moab, wil sell a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelechs.

4. നിനക്കു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് വീണ്ടെടുക്ക; വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് നിനക്കു മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കില് ഞാന് അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നോടു പറക; നീയും നീ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാനും അല്ലാതെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് ആരും ഇല്ല.

4. And I thought to aduertise thee, saying, Buy it before the assistants, and before the Elders of my people. If thou wilt redeeme it, redeeme it: but if thou wilt not redeeme it, tel me: for I know that there is none besides thee to redeeme it, and I am after thee. Then he answered, I wil redeeme it.

5. അതിന്നു അവന് ഞാന് വീണ്ടെടുക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് ബോവസ്നീ നൊവൊമിയോടു വയല് വാങ്ങുന്ന നാളില് മരിച്ചവന്റെ അവകാശത്തിന്മേല് അവന്റെ പേര് നിലനിര്ത്തുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം മരിച്ചവന്റെ ഭാര്യ മോവാബ്യ സ്ത്രീയായ രൂത്തിനെയും വാങ്ങേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou mnst also buy it of Ruth the Moabitesse the wife of the dead, to stirre vp the name of the dead, vpon his inheritance.

6. അതിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരന് എനിക്കു അതു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല; എന്റെ സ്വന്ത അവകാശം നഷ്ടമാക്കേണ്ടിവരും; ആകയാല് ഞാന് വീണ്ടെടുക്കേണ്ടതു നീ വീണ്ടെടുത്തുകൊള്ക; എനിക്കു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. And the kinsman answered, I can not redeeme it, lest I destroy mine owne inheritance: redeeme my right to thee, for I can not redeeme it.

7. എന്നാല് വീണ്ടെടുപ്പും കൈമാറ്റവും സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള കാര്യം ഉറപ്പാക്കുവാന് ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ ചെരിപ്പൂരി മറ്റേവന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നതു യിസ്രായേലില് പണ്ടു നടപ്പായിരുന്നു; ഇതായിരുന്നു യിസ്രായേലില് ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്ന വിധം.

7. Now this was the maner beforetime in Israel, concerning redeeming and changing, for to stablish all things: a man did plucke off his shooe, and gaue it his neighbour, and this was a sure witnes in Israel.

8. അങ്ങനെ ആ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരന് ബോവസിനോടുനീ അതു വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്റെ ചെരിപ്പൂരിക്കൊടുത്തു.

8. Therefore the kinsman sayd to Boas, Buy it for thee: and he drew off his shooe.

9. അപ്പോള് ബോവസ് മൂപ്പന്മാരോടും സകല ജനത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതുഎലീമേലെക്കിന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും കില്യോന്നും മഹ്ളോന്നും ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും ഞാന് നൊവൊമിയോടു വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.

9. And Boaz sayd vnto the Elders and vnto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I haue bought all that was Elimelechs, and all that was Chilions and Mahlons, of the hand of Naomi.

10. അത്രയുമല്ല മരിച്ചവന്റെ പേര് അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നും അവന്റെ പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല്നിന്നും മാഞ്ഞുപോകാതവണ്ണം മരിച്ചവന്റെ പേര് അവന്റെ അവകാശത്തിന്മേല് നിലനിര്ത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു മഹ്ളോന്റെ ഭാര്യ മോവാബ്യസ്ത്രീയായ രൂത്തിനെയും എനിക്കു ഭാര്യയായി വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നതിന്നും നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.

10. And moreouer, Ruth the Moabitesse the wife of Mahlon, haue I bought to be my wife, to stirre vp the name of the dead vpon his inheritance, and that the name of the dead be not put out from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.

11. അതിന്നു പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല് ഇരുന്ന സകലജനവും മൂപ്പന്മാരും പറഞ്ഞതുഞങ്ങള് സാക്ഷികള് തന്നേ; നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് വന്നിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീയെ യഹോവ റാഹേലിനെപ്പോലെയും ലേയയെപ്പോലെയും ആക്കട്ടെ; അവര് ഇരുവരുമല്ലോ യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹം പണിതതു; എഫ്രാത്തയില് നീ പ്രബലനും ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമില് വിശ്രുതനുമായിരിക്ക.

11. And all the people that were in the gate, and the Elders sayd, We are witnesses: the Lord make the wife that commeth into thine house, like Rahel and like Leah, which twaine did build the house of Israel: and that thou mayest doe worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Beth-lehem,

12. ഈ യുവതിയില്നിന്നു യഹോവ നിനക്കു നലകുന്ന സന്തതിയാല് നിന്റെ ഗൃഹം താമാര് യെഹൂദെക്കു പ്രസവിച്ച ഫേരെസിന്റെ ഗൃഹം പോലെ ആയ്തീരട്ടെ.

12. And that thine house be like the house of Pharez ( whom Thamar bare vnto Iudah) of the seede which the Lord shall giue thee of this yong woman.

13. ഇങ്ങനെ ബോവസ് രൂത്തിനെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവള് അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായി; അവന് അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നപ്പോള് യഹോവ അവള്ക്കു ഗര്ഭംനല്കി; അവള് ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

13. So Boaz tooke Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in vnto her, the Lord gaue that she conceiued, and bare a sonne.

14. എന്നാറെ സ്ത്രീകള് നൊവൊമിയോടുഇന്നു നിനക്കു ഒരു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനെ നല്കിയിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; അവന്റെ പേര് യിസ്രായേലില് വിശ്രുതമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

14. And the women sayd vnto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, and his name shalbe continued in Israel.

15. അവന് നിനക്കു ആശ്വാസപ്രദനും നിന്റെ വാര്ദ്ധക്യത്തിങ്കല് പോഷകനും ആയിരിക്കും. നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവളും ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാരെക്കാള് നിനക്കു ഉത്തമയുമായിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ മരുമകളല്ലോ അവനെ പ്രസവിച്ചതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And this shall bring thy life againe, and cherish thine olde age: for thy daughter in lawe which loueth thee, hath borne vnto him, and she is better to thee then seuen sonnes.

16. നൊവൊമി കുഞ്ഞിനെ എടുത്തു മടിയില് കിടത്തി അവന്നു ധാത്രിയായ്തീര്ന്നു.

16. And Naomi tooke the childe, and layde it in her lap, and became nource vnto it.

17. അവളുടെ അയല്ക്കാരത്തികള്നൊവൊമിക്കു ഒരു മകന് ജനിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ഔബേദ് എന്നു പേര് വിളിച്ചു; ദാവീദിന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ അപ്പന് ഇവന് തന്നേ.

17. And the women her neighbours gaue it a name, saying, There is a childe borne to Naomi, and called the name thereof Obed: the same was the father of Ishai, the father of Dauid.

18. ഫേരെസിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതുഫേരെസ് ഹെസ്രോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു. ഹെസ്രോന് രാമിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

18. These now are ye generations of Pharez: Pharez begate Hezron,

19. രാം അമ്മീനാദാബിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

19. And Hezron begate Ram, and Ram begate Amminadab,

20. അമ്മീനാദാബ് നഹശോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; നഹശോന് സല്മോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

20. And Amminadab begate Nahshon, and Nahshon begate Salmah,

21. സല്മോന് ബോവസിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ബോവസ് ഔബേദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

21. And Salmon begate Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,

22. ഔബേദ് യിശ്ശായിയെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; യിശ്ശായി ദാവീദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

22. And Obed begate Ishai, and Ishai begate Dauid.
