1. ശിനാര് രാജാവായ അമ്രാഫെല്, എലാസാര്രാജാവായ അര്യ്യോക്, ഏലാം രാജാവായ കെദൊര്ലായോമെര്, ജാതികളുടെ രാജാവായ തീദാല് എന്നിവരുടെ കാലത്തു

1. And it happened in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and Tidal king of the nations;

2. ഇവര് സൊദോം രാജാവായ ബേരാ, ഗൊമോരാരാജാവായ ബിര്ശാ, ആദ്മാരാജാവായ ശിനാബ്, സെബോയീം രാജാവായ ശെമേബെര്, സോവര് എന്ന ബേലയിലെ രാജാവു എന്നിവരോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു.

2. they made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

3. ഇവരെല്ലാവരും സിദ്ദീംതാഴ്വരിയില് ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി. അതു ഇപ്പോള് ഉപ്പുകടലാകുന്നു.

3. All these were joined together to the valley of Siddim, which is the Salt Sea.

4. അവര് പന്ത്രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം കെദൊര്ലായോമെരിന്നു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിന്നു; പതിമൂന്നാം സംവത്സരത്തില് മത്സരിച്ചു.

4. They served Chedorlaomer for twelve years, and the thirteenth year they rebelled.

5. അതുകൊണ്ടു പതിനാലാം സംവത്സരത്തില് കെദൊര്ലായോമെരും അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള രാജാക്കന്മാരുംവന്നു, അസ്തെരോത്ത് കര്ന്നയീമിലെ രെഫായികളെയും ഹാമിലെ സൂസ്യരെയും ശാവേകിര്യ്യാത്തയീമിലെ ഏമ്യരെയും

5. And in the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him came and struck the giants in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

6. സേയീര്മലയിലെ ഹോര്യ്യരെയും മരുഭൂമിക്കു സമീപമുള്ള ഏല്പാരാന് വരെ തോല്പിച്ചു.

6. and the Horites in the hills of Seir, as far as the oak of Paran, which is by the wilderness.

7. പിന്നെഅവര് തിരിഞ്ഞു കാദേശ് എന്ന ഏന് മിശ്പാത്തില്വന്നു അമലേക്യരുടെ ദേശമൊക്കെയും ഹസെസോന് -താമാരില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യരെയും കൂടെ തോല്പിച്ചു.

7. And they turned back and came to Enmishpat which is Kadesh, and struck all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites who lived in Hazazon Thamar.

8. അപ്പോള് സൊദോംരാജാവും ഗൊമോരാരാജാവും ആദ്മാരാജാവും സെബോയീംരാജാവും സോവര് എന്ന ബേലയിലെ രാജാവും പുറപ്പെട്ടു സിദ്ധീംതാഴ്വരയില് വെച്ചു

8. And the king of Sodom went out, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar. And they set the battle with them in the valley of Siddim,

9. ഏലാംരാജാവായ കെദൊര്ലായോമെര്, ജാതികളുടെ രാജാവായ തീദാല്, ശിനാര്രാജാവായ അമ്രാഫെല്, എലാസാര് രാജാവായ അര്യ്യോക് എന്നിവരുടെ നേരെ പട നിരത്തി; നാലു രാജാക്കന്മാര് അഞ്ചു രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ നേരെ തന്നെ.

9. with Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal the king of the nations, and Amraphel the king of Shinar, and Arioch the king of Ellasar; four kings with the five.

10. സിദ്ദീംതാഴ്വരയില് കീല്കുഴികള് വളരെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; സൊദോംരാജാവും ഗൊമോരാ രാജാവും ഔടിപ്പോയി അവിടെ വീണു; ശേഷിച്ചവര് പര്വ്വതത്തിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോയി.

10. And the valley of Siddim was pitted with asphalt pits, and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there. And they that remained fled to the mountain.

11. സൊദോമിലും ഗൊമോരയിലും ഉള്ള സമ്പത്തും ഭക്ഷണ സാധനങ്ങളും എല്ലാം അവര്എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.

11. And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their food, and went away.

12. അബ്രാമിന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ മകനായി സൊദോമില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന ലോത്തിനെയും അവന്റെ സമ്പത്തിനെയും അവര് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

12. And they took Lot, the son of Abram's brother, and his goods, and left; and he was living in Sodom.

13. ഔടിപ്പോന്ന ഒരുത്തന് വന്നു എബ്രായനായ അബ്രാമിനെ അറിയിച്ചു. അവന് എശ്ക്കോലിന്റെയും ആനേരിന്റെയും സഹോദരനായി അമോര്യ്യനായ മമ്രേയുടെ തോപ്പില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്നു; അവര് അബ്രാമിനോടു സഖ്യത ചെയ്തവര് ആയിരുന്നു.

13. And one who had escaped came and told Abram the Hebrew; for he was living among the oaks of Mamre the Amorite, the brother of Eshcol and Aner. And these were possessor of a covenant with Abram.

14. തന്റെ സഹോദരനെ ബദ്ധനാക്കികൊണ്ടു പോയി എന്നു അബ്രാം കേട്ടപ്പോള് അവന് തന്റെ വീട്ടില് ജനിച്ചവരും അഭ്യാസികളുമായ മുന്നൂറ്റിപതിനെട്ടു പേരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ദാന് വരെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു.

14. And when Abram heard that his brother was captured, even then he led out his trained men, born of his household, three hundred and eighteen. And they pursued as far as Dan.

15. രാത്രിയില് അവനും അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാരും അവരുടെ നേരെ ഭാഗംഭാഗമായി പിരിഞ്ഞു ചെന്നു അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു ദമ്മേശെക്കിന്റെ ഇടത്തുഭാഗത്തുള്ള ഹോബാവരെ അവരെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു.

15. And he divided against them by night, he and his slaves, and he struck them, and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is on the left of Damascus.

16. അവന് സമ്പത്തൊക്കെയും മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു വന്നു; തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ലോത്തിനെയും അവന്റെ സമ്പത്തിനെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും ജനത്തെയും കൂടെ മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

16. And he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother, and also the women and the people.

17. അവന് കെദൊര്ലായോമെരിനെയും കൂടെയുള്ള രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും തോല്പിച്ചിട്ടു മടങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോള് സൊദോംരാജാവു രാജതാഴ്വര എന്ന ശാവേതാഴ്വരവരെ അവനെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു.

17. And the king of Sodom went out to meet him, after he returned from smiting Chedorlaomer and the kings which were with him, to the valley of Shaveh, it being the valley of the king.

18. ശാലേംരാജാവായ മല്ക്കീസേദെക് അപ്പവും വീഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവന് അത്യുന്നതനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുരോഹിതനായിരുന്നു.

18. And Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine; and he was the priest of the most high God.

19. അവന് അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചുസ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്നും ഭൂമിക്കും നാഥനായി അത്യുന്നതനായ ദൈവത്താല് അബ്രാം അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ;

19. And he blessed him and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of Heaven and earth;

20. and blessed be the most high God, who has delivered your enemies into your hand. And he gave him a tithe of all.

21. അതിന്നു അബ്രാം സൊദോംരാജാവിനോടുപറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് അബ്രാമിനെ സമ്പന്നനാക്കിയെന്നു നീ പറയാതിരിപ്പാന് ഞാന് ഒരു ചരടാകട്ടെ ചെരിപ്പുവാറാകട്ടെ നിനക്കുള്ളതില് യാതൊന്നുമാകട്ടെ എടുക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന്

21. And the king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the persons and take the goods for yourself.

22. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്നും ഭൂമിക്കും നാഥനായി അത്യുന്നതദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കു കൈ ഉയര്ത്തിസത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

22. And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand to Jehovah, the most high God, the possessor of Heaven and earth,

23. ബാല്യക്കാര് ഭക്ഷിച്ചതും എന്നോടുകൂടെ വന്ന ആനേര്, എശ്ക്കോല്, മമ്രേ എന്നീ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ഔഹരിയും മാത്രമേ വേണ്ടു; ഇവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഔഹരി എടുത്തുകൊള്ളട്ടെ.

23. that I will not take from all that is yours, from a thread to a shoe latchet, and that you may not say, I have made Abram rich.
