1. അപ്പോള് യോസേഫ് തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ മുഖത്തു വീണു കരഞ്ഞു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു.

1. Then Joseph threw himself upon his father, and cried over him and kissed him.

2. പിന്നെ തന്റെ അപ്പന്നു സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം ഇടുവാന് യോസേഫ് തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ വൈദ്യന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചു; വൈദ്യന്മാര് യിസ്രായേലിനു സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം ഇട്ടു.

2. Joseph told his servants the doctors to make his father ready to be buried. So the doctors made Israel ready.

3. അങ്ങനെ നാല്പതു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞു; സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം ഇടുവാന് അത്ര ദിവസം വേണ്ടി വരും. മിസ്രയീമ്യര് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുപതു ദിവസം വിലാപം കഴിച്ചു.

3. Forty days were needed for this. For this is how much time it took for making the body ready to be buried. And the Egyptians cried for him seventy days.

4. When the days of sorrow for him were past, Joseph said to those of Pharaoh's house, 'If now I have found favor in your eyes, speak to Pharaoh, saying,

5. 'My father had me make a promise to him. He said, 'See, I am about to die. Bury me in my grave which I dug for myself in the land of Canaan.' So let me go and bury my father.Then I will return.' '

6. നിന്റെ അപ്പന് നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചതു പോലെ നീ പോയി അവനെ അടക്കുക എന്നു ഫറവോന് കല്പിച്ചു.

6. Pharaoh answered, 'Go and bury your father as he made you promise.'

7. അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫ് അപ്പനെ അടക്കുവാന് പൊയി; ഫറവോന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും കോവിലധികാരികളും

7. So Joseph went to bury his father. With him went all the servants of Pharaoh, the leaders of his house and all the important men of the land of Egypt,

8. മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ പ്രമാണികളും യോസേഫിന്റെ കുടുംബം ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും പിതൃഭവനവും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; തങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളെയും ആടുമാടുകളെയും മാത്രം അവര് ഗോശെന് ദേശത്തു വിട്ടേച്ചുപോയി

8. and all those of the house of Joseph, and his brothers, and those of his father's house. They left only their little ones and their flocks and cattle in the land of Goshen.

9. രഥങ്ങളും കുതിരയാളുകളും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; അതു എത്രയും വലിയ കൂട്ടമായിരുന്നു.

9. Wagons and men on horses went with him also. It was a very large group of people.

10. അവര് യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുള്ള ഗോരെന് -ആതാദില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവിടെവെച്ചു എത്രയും ഗൌരവമായ പ്രലാപം കഴിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവന് ഏഴു ദിവസം തന്റെ അപ്പനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലാപം കഴിച്ചു.

10. They came to the grain-floor of Atad on the other side of the Jordan. There they cried with much sorrow. Joseph cried in sorrow for his father for seven days.

11. When those who lived in the land, the Canaanites, saw the people crying in sorrow at the grain-floor of Atad, they said, 'This is a great sorrow for the Egyptians.' So the place was given the name Abelmizraim. It is on the other side of the Jordan.

12. അവന് കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നതു പോലെ പുത്രന്മാര് അവന്നു ചെയ്തു.

12. Jacob's sons did as he had told them.

13. അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് അവനെ കനാന് ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി, മമ്രേക്കു സമീപം അബ്രാഹാം ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോനോടു നിലത്തോടു കൂടെ ശ്മശാനഭൂമിയായി ജന്മം വാങ്ങിയ മക്പേലയെന്ന നിലത്തിലെ ഗുഹയില് അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു.

13. They carried him to the land of Canaan. They buried him in the grave of the field of Machpelah, east of Mamre, which Abraham had bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite for a burying place.

14. യോസേഫ് അപ്പനെ അടക്കിയശേഷം അവനും സഹോദരനും അവന്റെ അപ്പനെ അടക്കുവാന് കൂടെ പോയിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരും മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

14. After he had buried his father, Joseph returned to Egypt with his brothers and all who had gone with him to bury his father.

15. അപ്പന് മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു യോസേഫിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര് കണ്ടിട്ടുപക്ഷേ യോസേഫ് നമ്മെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു, നാം അവനോടു ചെയ്ത സകലദോഷത്തിന്നും നമ്മോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, 'It may be now that Joseph will hate us, and pay us in return for all the wrong that we did to him!'

16. അവര് യോസേഫിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ആളയച്ചുഅപ്പന് മരിക്കും മുമ്പെനിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര് നിന്നോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്തു; അവര് ചെയ്ത അതിക്രമവും പാപവും നീ ക്ഷമിക്കേണം എന്നു യോസേഫിനോടു പറവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. So they sent word to Joseph, saying, 'Before he died, our father told us,

17. ആകയാല് അപ്പന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ ദ്രോഹം ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറയിച്ചു. അവര് യോസേഫിനോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് കരഞ്ഞു.

17. 'You say to Joseph, 'Forgive the wrong-doing of your brothers and their sin. For they did a bad thing to you.' Now we beg you, forgive the wrong-doing of the servants of the God of your father.' ' Joseph cried when they spoke to him.

18. Then his brothers came and fell down in front of him and said, 'See, we are your servants.'

19. യോസേഫ് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഞാന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തു ഇരിക്കുന്നുവോ?

19. But Joseph said to them, 'Do not be afraid. Am I in the place of God?

20. നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ നേരെ ദോഷം വിചാരിച്ചു; ദൈവമോ, ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ ബഹുജനത്തിന്നു ജീവരക്ഷ വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിനെ ഗുണമാക്കിത്തീര്ത്തു.

20. You planned to do a bad thing to me. But God planned it for good, to make it happen that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

21. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളെയും പോറ്റി രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തി.

21. So do not be afraid. I will take care of you and your little ones.' He gave them comfort and words of kindness.

22. യോസേഫും അവന്റെ പിതൃഭവനവും മിസ്രയീമില് പാര്ത്തു, യോസേഫ് നൂറ്റിപ്പത്തു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു.

22. Joseph and his father's family stayed in Egypt. And Joseph lived 110 years.

23. എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ മൂന്നാം തലമുറയിലെ മക്കളെയും കണ്ടു; മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്റെ മക്കളും യോസേഫിന്റെ മടിയില് വളര്ന്നു.

23. He lived long enough to see Ephraim's grandchildren. And the sons of Manasseh's son Machir were held on Joseph's knees.

24. അനന്തരം യോസേഫ് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടുഞാന് മരിക്കുന്നു;എന്നാല് ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കയും ഈ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു താന് അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും സത്യംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. Joseph said to his brothers, 'I am about to die. But God will take care of you. He will bring you from this land to the land that He promised to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.'

25. ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ ഇവിടെനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യോസേഫ് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

25. Then Joseph made the sons of Israel promise. He said, 'God will take care of you. And you will carry my bones from here.'

26. യോസേഫ് നൂറ്റിപ്പത്തു വയസ്സുള്ളവനായി മരിച്ചു. അവര് അവന്നു സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം ഇട്ടു അവനെ മിസ്രയീമില് ഒരു ശവപ്പെട്ടിയില് വെച്ചു.

26. So Joseph died after living 110 years. They made his body ready, and he was put in a grave in Egypt.
