1. ദൈവം നോഹയെയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തന്നാല്നിങ്ങള് സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയില് നിറവിന് .

1. God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, 'Have many children. Fill the earth with your people.

2. നിങ്ങളെയുള്ള പേടിയും നടുക്കവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങള്ക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പറവകള്ക്കും സകല ഭൂചരങ്ങള്ക്കും സുമദ്രത്തിലെ സകലമത്സ്യങ്ങള്ക്കും ഉണ്ടാകും; അവയെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. Every animal on earth, every bird in the air, every animal that crawls on the ground, and every fish in the sea will be afraid of you. All of them will be under your control.

3. ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആഹാരം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; പച്ച സസ്യംപോലെ ഞാന് സകലവും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. In the past, I gave you the green plants to eat. Now every animal will also be food for you. I give you everything on earth�it is yours.

4. പ്രാണനായിരിക്കുന്ന രക്തത്തോടുകൂടെ മാത്രം നിങ്ങള് മാംസം തിന്നരുതു.

4. But I give you one command. You must not eat meat that still has its life (blood) in it.

5. നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണാനായിരിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്തത്തിന്നു ഞാന് പകരം ചോദിക്കും; സകലമൃഗത്തോടും മനുഷ്യനോടും ചോദിക്കും; അവനവന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും ഞാന് മനുഷ്യന്റെ പ്രാണന്നു പകരം ചോദിക്കും.

5. Also, I will demand your blood for your lives. That is, I will demand the life of any person or animal that takes a human life.

6. ആരെങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യന്റെ രക്തം ചൊരിയിച്ചാല് അവന്റെ രക്തം മനുഷ്യന് ചൊരിയിക്കും; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിലല്ലോ മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതു.

6. 'God made humans to be like himself. So whoever kills a person must be killed by a person.

7. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകുവിന് ; ഭൂമിയില് അനവധിയായി പെറ്റു പെരുകുവിന് .

7. Have many children and fill the earth with your people.'

8. ദൈവം പിന്നെയും നോഹയോടും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

8. Then God said to Noah and his sons,

9. ഞാന് , ഇതാ, നിങ്ങളോടും നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതിയോടും

9. 'I now make my promise to you and to your people who will live after you.

10. ഭൂമിയില് നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ള പക്ഷികളും കന്നുകാലികളും കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളുമായ സകല ജീവജന്തുക്കളോടും പെട്ടകത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട സകലവുമായി ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങളോടും ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

10. I make my promise to all the birds, and to all the cattle, and to all the animals that came out of the boat with you. I make my promise to every living thing on earth.

11. ഇനി സകലജഡവും ജലപ്രളയത്താല് നശിക്കയില്ല; ഭൂമിയെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് ഇനി ജലപ്രളയം ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. This is my promise to you: All life on the earth was destroyed by the flood. But that will never happen again. A flood will never again destroy all life on the earth.'

12. പിന്നെയും ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഞാനും നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഉള്ള സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളും തമ്മില് തലമുറതലമുറയോളം സദാകാലത്തേക്കും ചെയ്യുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്റെ അടയാളം ആവിതു

12. And God said, 'I will give you something to prove that I made this promise to you. It will continue forever to show that I have made an agreement with you and every living thing on earth. This agreement will continue for all time to come. This is the proof:

13. ഞാന് എന്റെ വില്ലു മേഘത്തില് വെക്കുന്നു; അതു ഞാനും ഭൂമിയും തമ്മിലുള്ള നിയമത്തിന്നു അടയാളമായിരിക്കും.

13. I am putting a rainbow in the clouds as proof of the agreement between me and the earth.

14. ഞാന് ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ മേഘം വരുത്തുമ്പോള് മേഘത്തില് വില്ലു കാണും.

14. When I bring clouds over the earth, you will see the rainbow in the clouds.

15. അപ്പോള് ഞാനും നിങ്ങളും സര്വ്വജഡവുമായ സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളും തമ്മിലുള്ള എന്റെ നിയമം ഞാന് ഔര്ക്കും; ഇനി സകല ജഡത്തെയും നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് വെള്ളം ഒരു പ്രളയമായി തീരുകയുമില്ല.

15. When I see this rainbow, I will remember the agreement between me and you and every living thing on the earth. This agreement says that a flood will never again destroy all life on the earth.

16. വില്ലു മേഘത്തില് ഉണ്ടാകും; ദൈവവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സര്വ്വ ജഡവുമായ സകല ജീവികളും തമ്മില് എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള നിയമം ഔര്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അതിനെ നോക്കും.

16. When I look and see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the agreement that continues forever. I will remember the agreement between me and every living thing on the earth.'

17. ഞാന് ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സര്വ്വ ജഡത്തോടും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്നു ഇതു അടയാളം എന്നും ദൈവം നോഹയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

17. So God said to Noah, 'This rainbow is proof of the agreement that I made with all living things on earth.'

18. പെട്ടകത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടവരായ നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര് ശേമും ഹാമും യാഫെത്തും ആയിരുന്നു; ഹാം എന്നവനോ കനാന്റെ പിതാവു.

18. Noah's sons came out of the boat with him. Their names were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.)

19. ഇവര് മൂവരും നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്; അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂമി ഒക്കെയും നിറഞ്ഞു.

19. These three men were Noah's sons. And all the people on earth came from these three sons.

20. നോഹ കൃഷിചെയ്വാന് തുടങ്ങി; ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി.

20. Noah became a farmer and planted a vineyard.

21. അവന് അതിലെ വീഞ്ഞുകുടിച്ചു ലഹരിപിടിച്ചു തന്റെ കൂടാരത്തില് വസ്ത്രം നീങ്ങി കിടന്നു.

21. One day Noah made some wine. He got drunk, went into his tent, and took off all his clothes.

22. കനാന്റെ പിതാവായ ഹാം പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത കണ്ടു വെളിയില് ചെന്നു തന്റെ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാരെയും അറിയിച്ചു.

22. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw that his father was naked and told his brothers who were outside the tent.

23. ശേമും യാഫെത്തും ഒരു വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തു, ഇരുവരുടെയും തോളില് ഇട്ടു വിമുഖരായി ചെന്നു പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത മറെച്ചു; അവരുടെ മുഖം തിരിഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത കണ്ടില്ല.

23. Shem and Japheth took a robe, put it across their shoulders, and walked backward into the tent. Then they covered their father without looking at him.

24. നോഹ ലഹരിവിട്ടുണര്ന്നപ്പോള് തന്റെ ഇളയ മകന് ചെയ്തതു അറിഞ്ഞു.

24. Later, Noah woke up. (He was sleeping because of the wine.) When he learned what his youngest son Ham had done to him,

25. അപ്പോള് അവന് കനാന് ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് ; അവന് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും അധമദാസനായ്തീരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. he said, 'May there be a curse on Canaan! May he be a slave to his brothers.'

26. ശേമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് ; കനാന് അവരുടെ ദാസനാകും.

26. Noah also said, 'May the Lord, the God of Shem, be praised! May Canaan be Shem's slave.

27. ദൈവം യാഫെത്തിനെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ; അവന് ശേമിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളില് വസിക്കും; കനാന് അവരുടെ ദാസനാകും എന്നും അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

27. May God give more land to Japheth. May God live in Shem's tents, and may Canaan be their slave.'

28. ജലപ്രളയത്തിന്റെ ശേഷം നോഹ മുന്നൂറ്റമ്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു.

28. After the flood Noah lived 350 years.

29. നോഹയുടെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ആകെ തൊള്ളായിരത്തമ്പതു സംവത്സരമായിരുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവന് മരിച്ചു.

29. He lived a total of 950 years; then he died.
