1. ദേശത്തെ ജനം യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോവാഹാസിനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അവനെ അപ്പന്നു പകരം യെരൂശലേമില് രാജാവാക്കി.

1. Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his fathers stead in Jerusalem.

2. യെഹോവാഹാസ് വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് മൂന്നു മാസം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു.

2. Joahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three mouths in Jerusalem.

3. മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു അവനെ യെരൂശലേമില്വെച്ചു പിഴുക്കി ദേശത്തിന്നു നൂറു താലന്ത് വെള്ളിയും ഒരു താലന്ത് പൊന്നും പിഴ കല്പിച്ചു.

3. And the king of Egypt deposed him at Jerusalem, and amerced the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

4. മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ എല്യാക്കീമിനെ യെഹൂദെക്കും യെരൂശലേമിന്നും രാജാവാക്കി; അവന്റെ പേര് യെഹോയാക്കീം എന്നു മാറ്റി. അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യെഹോവാഹാസിനെ നെഖോ പിടിച്ചു മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

4. And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. And Neco took Joahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

5. യെഹോയാക്കീം വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു ഇരുപത്തഞ്ചു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് ഏഴു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന് തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

5. Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.

6. അവന്റെ നേരെ ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ് നേസര് വന്നു അവനെ ചങ്ങലയിട്ടു ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി,

6. Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

7. നെബൂഖദ് നേസര് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളും ബാബേലില് കൊണ്ടുപോയി ബാബേലില് തന്റെ ദേവന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില് വെച്ചു.

7. Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

8. യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതും അവനില് കണ്ടതുമായ മ്ളേച്ഛതകളും യിസ്രായേലിലെയും യെഹൂദയിലെയും രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ പുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. അവന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോയാഖീന് അവന്നുപകരം രാജാവായി.

8. Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

9. യെഹോയാഖീന് വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു എട്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നുഅവന് മൂന്നു മാസവും പത്തു ദിവസവും യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന് യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

9. Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

10. എന്നാല് പിറ്റെയാണ്ടില് നെബൂഖദ് നേസര്രാജാവു ആളയച്ചു അവനെയും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ മനോഹരമായ ഉപകരണങ്ങളെയും ബാബേലിലേക്കു വരുത്തി, അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ സിദെക്കീയാവെ യെഹൂദെക്കും യെരൂശലേമിന്നും രാജാവാക്കി.

10. And at the return of the year king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

11. സിദെക്കീയാവു വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു ഇരുപത്തൊന്നു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് പതിനൊന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു.

11. Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem:

12. അവന് തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; യഹോവയുടെ വായില്നിന്നുള്ള വചനം പ്രസ്താവിച്ച യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ മുമ്പില് തന്നെത്താന് താഴ്ത്തിയില്ല.

12. and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God; he humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet {cf15i speaking} from the mouth of the LORD.

13. അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു ദൈവനാമത്തില് സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചിരുന്ന നെബൂഖദ് നേസര് രാജാവിനോടു അവന് മത്സരിച്ചു ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയാത വണ്ണം തന്റെ ഹൃദയം കഠിനമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

13. And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD, the God of Israel.

14. പുരോഹിതന്മാരില് പ്രധാനികളൊക്കെയും ജനവും ജാതികളുടെ സകലമ്ളേച്ഛതകളെയുംപോലെ വളരെ അകൃത്യം ചെയ്തു; യെരൂശലേമില് യഹോവ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച അവന്റെ ആലയത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി.

14. Moreover all the chiefs of the priests, and the people, trespassed very greatly after all the abominations of the heathen; and they polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

15. അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടും തന്റെ നിവാസത്തോടും സഹതാപം തോന്നീട്ടു അവന് ജാഗ്രതയോടെ തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു.

15. And the LORD, the God of their fathers, sent to them by his messengers, rising up early and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

16. അവരോ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരെ പരിഹസിച്ചു അവന്റെ വാക്കുകളെ നിരസിച്ചു ഉപശാന്തിയില്ലാതാകും വണ്ണം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു നേരെ ഉജ്ജ്വലിക്കുവോളം അവന്റെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ നിന്ദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

16. but they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

17. അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് കല്ദയരുടെ രാജാവിനെ അവരുടെ നേരെ വരുത്തി; അവന് അവരുടെ യൌവനക്കാരെ അവരുടെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരമായ ആലയത്തില്വെച്ചു വാള്കൊണ്ടു കൊന്നു; അവന് യൌവനക്കാരനെയോ കന്യകയെയോ വൃദ്ധനെയോ കിഴവനെയോ ആദരിക്കാതെ അവരെ ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

17. Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldeans, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man or ancient: he gave them all into his hand.

18. ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ ചെറിയതും വലിയതുമായ ഉപകരണങ്ങളൊക്കെയും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരവും രാജാവിന്റെയും അവന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളുമെല്ലാം അവന് ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

18. And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.

19. അവര് ദൈവാലയം ചുട്ടു, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതില് ഇടിച്ചു, അതിലെ അരമനകള് എല്ലാം തീക്കിരയാക്കി അതിലെ മനോഹരസാധനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

19. And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.

20. വാളിനാല് വീഴാതെ ശേഷിച്ചവരെ അവന് ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; പാര്സിരാജ്യത്തിന്നു ആധിപത്യം സിദ്ധിക്കുംവരെ അവര് അവിടെ അവന്നും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും അടിമകളായിരുന്നു.

20. And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; and they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

21. യിരെമ്യാമുഖാന്തരം ഉണ്ടായ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ദേശം അതിന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തുകളെ അനുഭവിച്ചു കഴിയുവോളം തന്നേ; എഴുപതു സംവത്സരം തികയുവോളം അതു ശൂന്യമായി കിടന്ന കാലമൊക്കെയും ശബ്ബത്തു അനുഭവിച്ചു.

21. to fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths {cf15i for} as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfill threescore and ten years.

22. എന്നാല് യിരെമ്യാമുഖാന്തരം ഉണ്ടായ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാകേണ്ടതിന്നു പാര്സിരാജാവായ കോരെശിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ആണ്ടില് യഹോവ പാര്സിരാജാവായ കോരെശിന്റെ മനസ്സുണര്ത്തി; അവന് തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തെല്ലാടവും ഒരു വിളംബരം പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കി രേഖാമൂലം പരസ്യം ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്

22. Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and {cf15i put it} also in writing, saying,

23. പാര്സിരാജാവായ കോരെശ് ഇപ്രകാരം കല്പിക്കുന്നുസ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളെയും എനിക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; യെഹൂദയിലെ യെരൂശലേമില് അവന്നു ഒരു ആലയം പണിവാന് അവന് എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളില് അവന്റെ ജനമായിട്ടു ആരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; അവന് യാത്രപുറപ്പെടട്ടെ.

23. Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD, the God of heaven, given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whosoever there is among you of all his people, the LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.
