1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Iob answered, and sayde:

2. ഞാന് ഈവക പലതും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആശ്വാസകന്മാര്.

2. I haue oft tymes herde soch thinges. Miserable geuers of comforte are ye, all the sorte of you.

3. വ്യര്ത്ഥവാക്കുകള്ക്കു അവസാനം ഉണ്ടാകുമോ? അല്ല, പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാന് നിന്നെ ചൊടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

3. Shall not thy vayne wordes come yet to an ende? Or, hast thou yet eny more to saye?

4. നിങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഞാനും സംസാരിക്കാം; എനിക്കുള്ള അനുഭവം നിങ്ങള്ക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില് എനിക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ മൊഴികളെ യോജിപ്പിക്കയും നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു തല കുലുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാമായിരുന്നു.

4. I coude speake, as ye do also. But wolde God, that youre soule were in my soules steade: then shulde I heape vp wordes agaynst you, and shake my heade at you.

5. ഞാന് വായികൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുകയും അധരസാന്ത്വനംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു.

5. I shulde comforte you with my mouth, and release youre payne with ye talkinge of my lyppes.

6. ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചാലും എന്റെ വേദന ശമിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഞാന് അടങ്ങിയിരുന്നാലും എനിക്കെന്തു ആശ്വാസമുള്ളു?

6. But what shall I do? For all my wordes, my sorow wil not ceasse: and though I holde my toge, yet wil it not departe fro me.

7. ഇപ്പോഴോ അവന് എന്നെ ക്ഷീണിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എന്റെ ബന്ധുവര്ഗ്ഗത്തെയൊക്കെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. And now that I am full of payne, and all that I haue destroied

8. നീ എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു എന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മെലിച്ചല് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്റെ മുഖത്തു നോക്കി സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

8. (wherof my wryncles beare wytnesse) there stodeth vp a dyssembler to make me answere with lyes to my face.

9. അവന് കോപത്തില് എന്നെ കീറി ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നു; അവന് എന്റെ നേരെ പല്ലു കടിക്കുന്നു; ശത്രു എന്റെ നേരെ കണ്ണു കൂര്പ്പിക്കുന്നു.

9. He is angrie at me, he hateth me, and gnassheth vpon me with his teth. Myne enemy skouleth vpon me with his eyes.

10. അവര് എന്റെ നേരെ വായ്പിളര്ക്കുംന്നു; നിന്ദയോടെ അവര് എന്റെ ചെകിട്ടത്തടിക്കുന്നു; അവര് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടം കൂടുന്നു.

10. They haue opened their mouthes wyde vpon me, and smytten me vpon the cheke despitefully, they haue eased the selues thorow myne aduersite.

11. ദൈവം എന്നെ അഭക്തന്റെ പക്കല് ഏല്പിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില് എന്നെ അകപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

11. God hath geuen me ouer to the vngodly, and delyuered me in to the hondes of ye wicked.

12. ഞാന് സ്വൈരമായി വസിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവനോ എന്നെ ചതെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവന് എന്നെ പിടരിക്കു പിടിച്ചു തകര്ത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; എന്നെ തനിക്കു ലാക്കാക്കി നിര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. I was somtyme in wealth, but sodenly hath he brought me to naught. He hath taken me by the neck, he hath rente me, and set me, as it were a marck for him to shute at.

13. അവന്റെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങള് എന്റെ ചുറ്റും വീഴുന്നു; അവന് ആദരിക്കാതെ എന്റെ അന്തര്ഭാഗങ്ങളെ പിളര്ക്കുംന്നു; എന്റെ പിത്തത്തെ നിലത്തു ഒഴിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

13. He hath compased me rounde aboute with his dartes, he hath wounded my loynes, & not spared. My bowels hath he poured vpon the grounde.

14. അവന് എന്നെ ഇടിച്ചിടിച്ചു തകര്ക്കുംന്നു; മല്ലനെപ്പോലെ എന്റെ നേരെ പായുന്നു.

14. He hath geue me one wounde vpon another, and is falle vpon me like a giaunte.

15. ഞാന് രട്ടു എന്റെ ത്വക്കിന്മേല് കൂട്ടിത്തുന്നി, എന്റെ കൊമ്പിനെ പൊടിയില് ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. I haue sowed a sack cloth vpon my skynne, and lye with my strength in the dust.

16. കരഞ്ഞു കരഞ്ഞു എന്റെ മുഖം ചുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് അന്ധതമസ്സു കിടക്കുന്നു.

16. My face is swolle with wepinge, & myne eyes are waxen dymne.

17. എങ്കിലും സാഹസം എന്റെ കൈകളില് ഇല്ല. എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന നിര്മ്മലമത്രേ.

17. Howbeit there is no wickednesse in my hondes, and my prayer is clene.

18. അയ്യോ ഭൂമിയേ, എന്റെ രക്തം മൂടരുതേ; എന്റെ നിലവിളി എങ്ങും തടഞ്ഞുപോകരുതേ.

18. O earth, couer not my bloude, and let my crienge fynde no rowme.

19. ഇപ്പോഴും എന്റെ സാക്ഷി സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലും എന്റെ ജാമ്യക്കാരന് ഉയരത്തിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

19. For lo, my witnesse is in heauen, and he that knoweth me, is aboue in the heyth.

20. എന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് എന്നെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണോ ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു കണ്ണുനീര് പൊഴിക്കുന്നു.

20. My frendes laugh me to scorne, but myne eye poureth out teares vnto God.

21. അവന് മനുഷ്യന്നു വേണ്ടി ദൈവത്തോടും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നു വേണ്ടി അവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടും ന്യായവാദം കഴിക്കും.

21. Though a body might pleate wt God, as one man doth with another,

22. ചില ആണ്ടു കഴിയുമ്പോഴേക്കു ഞാന് മടങ്ങിവരാത്ത പാതെക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരുമല്ലോ.

22. yet the nombre of my yeares are come, & I must go the waye, from whence I shal not turne agayne.
