1. Then God spoke all these words, saying,

2. അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയായ ഞാന് നിന്റെ ദൈവം ആകുന്നു.

2. 'I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house where you were servants.

3. ഞാനല്ലാതെ അന്യദൈവങ്ങള് നിനക്കു ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

3. 'Have no gods other than Me.

4. ഒരു വിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കരുതു; മിതെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് എങ്കിലും താഴെ ഭൂമിയില് എങ്കിലും ഭൂമിക്കു കീഴെ വെള്ളത്തില് എങ്കിലും ഉള്ള യാതൊന്നിന്റെ പ്രതിമയും അരുതു.

4. 'Do not make for yourselves a god to look like anything that is in heaven above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.

5. അവയെ നമസ്കരിക്കയോ സേവിക്കയോ ചെയ്യരുതു. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയായ ഞാന് തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകുന്നു; എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരില് പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യം മൂന്നാമത്തെയും നാലാമത്തെയും തലമുറവരെ മക്കളുടെ മേല് സന്ദര്ശിക്കയും

5. 'Do not worship them or work for them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. I punish the children, even the great-grandchildren, for the sins of their fathers who hate Me.

6. എന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും ആയിരം തലമുറ വരെ ദയകാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

6. But I show loving-kindness to thousands of those who love Me and keep My Laws.

7. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമം വൃഥാ എടുക്കരുതു; തന്റെ നാമം വൃഥാ എടുക്കുന്നവനെ യഹോവ ശിക്ഷിക്കാതെ വിടുകയില്ല.

7. 'Do not use the name of the Lord your God in a false way. For the Lord will punish the one who uses His name in a false way.

10. But the seventh day is a Day of Rest to the Lord your God. You, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, your cattle, or the traveler who stays with you, must not do any work on this day.

11. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea and all that is in them. And He rested on the seventh day. So the Lord gave honor to the Day of Rest and made it holy.

15. 'Do not steal.

16. കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ നേരെ കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു.

16. 'Do not tell a lie about your neighbor.

17. കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭവനത്തെ മോഹിക്കരുതു; കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും അവന്റെ ദാസനെയും ദാസിയെയും അവന്റെ കാളയെയും കഴുതയെയും കൂട്ടുകാരനുള്ള യാതൊന്നിനെയും മോഹിക്കരുതു.

17. 'Do not have a desire for your neighbor's house. Do not have a desire for his wife or his male servant, his female servant, or his bull or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.'

18. All the people heard and saw the thunder and lightning, the sound of the horn, and the mountain smoking. And when the people saw it, they shook with fear and stood far away.

19. അവര് മോശെയോടുനീ ഞങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്ക; ഞങ്ങള് കേട്ടുകൊള്ളാം; ഞങ്ങള് മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്കരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. They said to Moses, 'You speak to us and we will listen. But do not let God speak to us or we will die.'

20. മോശെ ജനത്തോടുഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; നിങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിങ്ങള് പാപം ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാന് അവങ്കലുള്ള ഭയം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും അത്രേ ദൈവം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. Moses said to the people, 'Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so you may have enough fear of Him to keep you from sinning.'

21. അങ്ങനെ ജനം ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു; മോശെയോ ദൈവം ഇരുന്ന ഇരുളിന്നു അടുത്തുചെന്നു.

21. The people stood far away, while Moses came near to the cloud where God was.

22. അപ്പോള് യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു ഇപ്രകാരം പറയേണംഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചതു നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

22. Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Say this to the people of Israel: 'You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven.

23. എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് വെള്ളികൊണ്ടുള്ള ദേവന്മാരെയോ പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ദേവന്മാരെയോ നിങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടാക്കരുതു.

23. Do not make any gods other than Me. Do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.

24. എനിക്കു മണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം ഉണ്ടാക്കി അതിന്മേല് നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെയും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളെയും നിന്റെ ആടുകളെയും കന്നുകാലികളെയും അര്പ്പിക്കേണം. ഞാന് എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്റെ സ്മരണ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്ന ഏതു സ്ഥലത്തും ഞാന് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

24. Make an altar of earth for Me, and on it give your burnt and peace gifts in worship, your sheep and cattle. In every place where My name is to be remembered, I will come to you and bring good to you.

25. കല്ലു കൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു യാഗപീഠം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ചെത്തിയ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു അതു പണിയരുതു; നിന്റെ ആയുധംകൊണ്ടു അതിനെ തൊട്ടാല് നീ അതിനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കും.

25. If you make an altar of stone for Me, do not build it of cut stones. For if you use an object to cut it, it will be unclean.

26. എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കല് നിന്റെ നഗ്നത കാണാതിരിപ്പാന് നീ അതിങ്കല് പടികളാല് കയറരുതു.

26. And do not go up on steps to My altar, so no part of your body may be seen without being covered.'
