1. എന്നാല് മോശെ പര്വ്വതത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുവാന് താമസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ജനം കണ്ടപ്പോള് ജനം അഹരോന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുകൂടി അവനോടുനീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു ദൈവത്തെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി തരിക; ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന പുരുഷനായ ഈ മോശെക്കു എന്തു ഭവിച്ചു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. And when the people sawe that it was loge or Moses came doune out of the mountayne, they gathered them selues together ad came vnto Aaron and sayde vnto him: Vp ad make vs a god to goo before vs: for of this Moses the felowe that brought vs out of the londe off Egipte, we wote not what ys become.

2. അഹരോന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരുടെയും പുത്രന്മാരുടെയും പുത്രിമാരുടെയും കാതിലെ പൊന് കുണുകൂ പറിച്ചു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. And Aaron saide vnto them: plucke of the golden earynges which are in the eares of youre wyues, youre sonnes ad of youre doughters: and brynge them vnto me.

3. ജനം ഒക്കെയും തങ്ങളുടെ കാതില് നിന്നു പൊന് കുണുകൂ പറിച്ചു അഹരോന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

3. And all the people plucked of the golden earinges that were in their eares, and broughte them vnto Aaron

4. അവന് അതു അവരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വാങ്ങി, ഒരു കൊത്തുളികൊണ്ടു ഭാഷവരുത്തി ഒരു കാളകൂട്ടിയെ വാര്ത്തുണ്ടാക്കി. അപ്പോള് അവര്യിസ്രായേലേ, ഇതു നിന്നെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവംആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. And he receaued them of their handes and facyoned it with a grauer and made it a calfe of molten metall. And they sayde: This is thi god O Israel, whiche brought the out of the londe of Egipte.

5. അഹരോന് അതു കണ്ടാറെ അതിന്നു മുമ്പാകെ ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതുനാളെ യഹോവേക്കു ഒരു ഉത്സവം എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. And when Aaron sawe that, he made an altare before it, and made a proclamacion saing tomorow shalbe holy daye vnto the Lorde.

6. പിറ്റെന്നാള് അവര് അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങള് കഴിച്ചു സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചു; ജനം ഭക്ഷിപ്പാനും കുടിപ്പാനും ഇരുന്നു കളിപ്പാന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു.

6. And they rose vp in the mornynge and offred burntoffrynges, and brought offrynges of attonement also. And than they satt them doune to eate and drynke, and rose vpp agayne to playe.

7. അപ്പോള് യഹോവ മോശെയോടുനീ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുക; നീ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിന്റെ ജനം തങ്ങളെ തന്നേ വഷളാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Than the Lorde sayde vnto Moses: go get the doune, for thi people which thou broughtest out of the lade of Egipte,

8. ഞാന് അവരോടു കല്പിച്ച വഴി അവര് വേഗത്തില് വിട്ടുമാറി ഒരു കാളകൂട്ടിയെ വാര്ത്തുണ്ടാക്കി നമസ്കരിച്ചു അതിന്നു യാഗം കഴിച്ചുയിസ്രായേലേ, ഇതു നിന്നെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവം ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

8. haue marred all they are turned at once out of the waye whiche I comaunded the, ad haue made the a calfe of molten metall, ad haue worshipped it ad haue offred therto and haue saide: This is thy God thou Israel, which hath brought the out of the lande of Egipte.

9. ഞാന് ഈ ജനത്തെ നോക്കി, അതു ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ള ജനം ആകുന്നു എന്നു കണ്ടു.

9. And the Lorde sayde vnto Moses: beholde, I see this people that it is a stife necked people,

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ കോപം അവര്ക്കും വിരോധമായി ജ്വലിച്ചു ഞാന് അവരെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ വിടുക; നിന്നെ ഞാന് വലിയോരു ജാതിയാക്കും എന്നും യഹോവ മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

10. and now therfore suffre me that my wrath maye waxe hote vppo the, and that I maye consume the: and than will I make of the a mightie people,

11. എന്നാല് മോശെ തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുയഹോവേ, നീ മഹാബലംകൊണ്ടും ഭുജവീര്യംകൊണ്ടും മിസ്രയിംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി നിന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

11. Than Moses besoughte the Lorde his God and sayde: O Lord, why shuld thy wrath waxe hote apo thy people which thou hast brought out of the lande of Egipte with great power and with a mightie hande?

12. മലകളില്വെച്ചു കൊന്നുകളവാനും ഭൂതലത്തില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും അവരെ ദോഷത്തിന്നായി അവന് കൊണ്ടുപോയി എന്നു മിസ്രയീമ്യരെക്കൊണ്ടു പറയിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? നിന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു വരുവാനുള്ള ഈ അനര്ത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിക്കേണമേ.

12. wherfore shuld the Egiptians speake and saye: For a mischefe dyd he brynge them out: euen for to slee them in the mountayns, and to consume them from the face of the erth. Turne from thi fearse wrath, ad haue compassion ouer the wikednesse of thi people.

13. നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെയും യിസ്രായേലിനെയും ഔര്ക്കേണമേ. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതിയെ ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കയും ഞാന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ഈ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതിക്കു കൊടുക്കയും അവര് അതിനെ എന്നേക്കും അവകാശമായി പ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു നീ നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ അവരോടു സത്യംചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

13. Remebre Abraha, Isaac ad Israel thy servauntes, to who thou sworest by thyne owne selfe ad saidest vnto the: I wil multiplye youre seed as the starres of heauen, ad al this lande which I haue saide, I will geue vnto youre seed: ad they shall eheret it for euer.

14. അപ്പോള് യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു വരുത്തും എന്നു കല്പിച്ച അനര്ത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിച്ചു.

14. And the Lorde refrayned him selfe from that euell, which he sayde he wolde do vnto his people.

15. മോശെ തിരിഞ്ഞു പര്വ്വതത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി; സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്റെ പലക രണ്ടും അവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പലക ഇപ്പുറവും അപ്പുറവുമായി ഇരുവശത്തും എഴുതിയതായിരുന്നു.

15. And Moses turned his backe and went doune fro the hyll, and the .ij. tables of witnesse in his hande: which were wrytte on both the leaues

16. പലക ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പണിയും പലകയില് പതിഞ്ഞ എഴുത്തു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ എഴുത്തും ആയിരുന്നു.

16. and were the worke of God, ad the writige was the writinge of God graue apon the tables.

17. ജനം ആര്ത്തുവിളിക്കുന്ന ഘോഷം യോശുവ കേട്ടപ്പോള് അവന് മോശെയോടുപാളയത്തില് യുദ്ധഘോഷം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. And when Iosua herde the noyse of the people as they shouted, he saide vnto Moses: there is a noyse of warre in the hoste.

18. അതിന്നു അവന് ജയിച്ചു ആര്ക്കുംന്നവരുടെ ഘോഷമല്ല, തോറ്റു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നവരുടെ നിലവിളിയുമല്ല, പ്രതിഗാനം ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ ഘോഷമത്രേ ഞാന് കേള്ക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. And he sayde: it is not the crye of the that haue the mastrye, nor of the that haue the worse: but I doo heare the noyse of synginge.

19. അവന് പാളയത്തിന്നു സമീപിച്ചപ്പോള് കാളകൂട്ടിയെയും നൃത്തങ്ങളെയും കണ്ടു അപ്പോള് മോശെയുടെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു അവന് പലകകളെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു എറിഞ്ഞു പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ അടിവാരത്തുവെച്ചു പൊട്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

19. And as soone as he came nye vnto the hoste and sawe the calfe and the daunsynge, his wrath waxed hote, and he cast the tables out of his hande, and brake them euen at the hyll fote.

20. അവര് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന കാളകൂട്ടിയെ അവന് എടുത്തു തീയില് ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടു അരെച്ചു പൊടിയാക്കി വെള്ളത്തില് വിതറി യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു.

20. And he toke the calfe which they had made ad burned it with fyre, ad stampt it vnto powder and strowed it in the water, and made the childern of Israel drynke.

21. മോശെ അഹരോനോടുഈ ജനത്തിന്മേല് ഇത്രവലിയ പാപം വരുത്തുവാന് അവര് നിന്നോടു എന്തു ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

21. And tha Moses sayde vnto Aaro: what dyd this people vnto the that thou hast brought so great a synne apon them.

22. അതിന്നു അഹരോന് പറഞ്ഞതുയജമാനന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിക്കരുതേ; ഈ ജനം ദോഷത്തിലേക്കു ചാഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതെന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

22. And Aaron sayde: let not the wrath of my Lorde waxe fearse, thou knowest the people that they are euen sett on myschefe:

23. ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു മുമ്പായി നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു ദൈവത്തെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി തരേണം; ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന പുരുഷനായ ഈ മോശെക്കു എന്തു ഭവിച്ചു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു അവര് എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. they sayde vnto me: make us a god to goo before us, for we wote not what is become of Moses the felow that brought us out of the lande of Egipte.

24. ഞാന് അവരോടുപൊന്നുള്ളവര് അതു പറിച്ചെടുക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവര് അതു എന്റെ പക്കല് തന്നു; ഞാന് അതു തീയില് ഇട്ടു ഈ കാളകൂട്ടി പുറത്തു വന്നു.

24. And I sayde vnto them: let them that haue golde, take and brynge it me: and I kest it in to the fyre, and there of came out this calfe

25. അവരുടെ വിരോധികള്ക്കു മുമ്പാകെ അവര് ഹാസ്യമാകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അഹരോന് അവരെ അഴിച്ചുവിട്ടു കളകയാല് ജനം കെട്ടഴിഞ്ഞവരായി എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു മോശെ പാളയത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കല് നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു

25. when Moses sawe that the people were naked (for Aaron had made them naked vnto their shame when they made insurrection)

26. യഹോവയുടെ പക്ഷത്തില് ഉള്ളവന് എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാറെ ലേവ്യര് എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുകൂടി.

26. he went and stode in the gate of the hoste ad sayde: Yf any man perteyne vnto the Lorde, lett him come to me. And all the sonnes of Leui gathered them selues together and came vnto him.

27. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ വാള് അരെക്കു കെട്ടി പാളയത്തില്കൂടി വാതില്തോറും കടന്നു ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരനെയും താന്താന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനെയും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെയും കൊന്നുകളവിന് എന്നിങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. And he sayde vnto them, thus sayeth the Lorde of Israel: put euery man his swerde by his syde, and goo in and out from gate to gate thorow out the hoste: and slee euery man his brother, euery man his frende and euery man his neghboure.

28. ലേവ്യര് മോശെ പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെ ചെയ്തു അന്നു ഏകദേശം മൂവായിരം പേര് വീണു.

28. And the childern of Leui dyd as Moses had sayde. And there were slayne of the people the same daye, aboute thre thousande men.

29. യഹോവ ഇന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അനുഗ്രഹം നല്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ മകന്നും താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരന്നും വിരോധമായി യഹോവേക്കു നിങ്ങളെ തന്നേ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പിന് എന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Then Moses sayde: fyll youre handes vnto the Lorde this daye, euery man vppo his sonne and vppon his brother: to brynge vppo you a blessynge this daye.

30. പിറ്റെന്നാള് മോശെനിങ്ങള് ഒരു മഹാപാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇപ്പോള് ഞാന് യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് കയറിച്ചെല്ലും; പക്ഷേ നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം വരുത്തുവാന് എനിക്കു ഇടയാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30. And on the morowe, Moses sayde vnto the people: Ye haue synned a great synne. But now I will goo vpp vnto the Lorde, to witt whether I can make an attonement for youre synne.

31. അങ്ങനെ മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്അയ്യോ, ഈ ജനം മഹാപാതകം ചെയ്തു പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു ദൈവത്തെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

31. And Moses went agayne vnto the Lorde and sayde: Oh, this people haue synned a great synne and haue made the a god of golde:

32. എങ്കിലും നീ അവരുടെ പാപം ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ; അല്ലെങ്കില് നീ എഴുതിയ നിന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തില്നിന്നു എന്റെ പേര് മായിച്ചുകളയേണമേ.

32. Yet forgeue them their synne I praye the: Yf not wype me out of thy boke which thou hast written.

33. യഹോവ മോശെയോടുഎന്നോടു പാപം ചെയ്തവന്റെ പേര് ഞാന് എന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തില്നിന്നു മായിച്ചുകളയും.

33. And the Lorde sayde vnto Moses: I will put him out of my boke that hath synned agaynst me.

34. ആകയാല് നീ പോയി ഞാന് നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു ജനത്തെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോക; എന്റെ ദൂതന് നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നടക്കും. എന്നാല് എന്റെ സന്ദര്ശനദിവസത്തില് ഞാന് അവരുടെ പാപം അവരുടെമേല് സന്ദര്ശിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

34. But goo and brynge the people vnto the lande which I sayde vnto the: beholde, myne angell shall goo before the. Neuerthelater in the daye when I vyset, I will vysett their synne vppon them.

35. അഹരോന് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ കാളകൂട്ടിയെ ജനം ഉണ്ടാക്കിച്ചതാകകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ അവരെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു.

35. And the Lorde plaged the people, because they made the calfe which Aaron made.
