1. പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടു, മൂന്നാം മാസം, ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And it happened in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first of the month, the Word of Jehovah was to me, saying,

2. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോനോടും അവന്റെ പുരുഷാരത്തോടും പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് നീ ആര്ക്കും സമന് ?

2. Son of man, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his host: To whom are you like in your greatness?

3. അശ്ശൂര് ലെബാനോനില് ഭംഗിയുള്ള കൊമ്പുകളോടും തണലുള്ള ഇലകളോടും പൊക്കത്തിലുള്ള വളര്ച്ചയോടും കൂടിയ ഒരു ദേവദാരുവായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; അതിന്റെ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം എത്തിയിരുന്നു.

3. Behold, Assyria was like a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches and forest shade and exalted in height, and his top was among the thick boughs.

4. വെള്ളം അതിനെ വളര്ത്തി ആഴി അതിനെ ഉയരുമാറാക്കി; അതിന്റെ നദികള് തോട്ടത്തെ ചുറ്റി ഒഴുകി, അതു തന്റെ ഒഴുക്കുകളെ വയലിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്കു അയച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

4. The waters made him great and the deep made him high with her rivers, going all around her planting, and she sent out her channels to all the trees of the field.

5. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വളര്ന്നു വയലിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളെക്കാളും പൊങ്ങി; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു പടര്ന്നു തന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ പെരുക്കി ചില്ലികളെ നീട്ടി.

5. On account of this, his height was lifted up above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long in his sending, because of the many waters.

6. അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളില് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും കൂടുണ്ടാക്കി; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ കീഴെ കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും പെറ്റുകിടന്നു; അതിന്റെ തണലില് വലിയ ജാതികളൊക്കെയും പാര്ത്തു.

6. All the birds of the heavens nested in his boughs, and under his branches all the beasts of the field gave birth, and in his shadow dwelt all great nations.

7. ഇങ്ങനെ അതിന്റെ വേര് വളരെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വലുതായി കൊമ്പുകളെ നീട്ടി ശോഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.

7. And he was fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches. For his root was to many waters.

8. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ദേവദാരുക്കള്ക്കു അതിനെ മറെപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; സരളവൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളോടു തുല്യമായിരുന്നില്ല; അരിഞ്ഞില്വൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളോടു ഒത്തിരുന്നില്ല; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ഒരു വൃക്ഷവും ഭംഗിയില് അതിനോടു സമമായിരുന്നതുമില്ല.

8. The cedars did not overshadow him in the garden of God. The fir trees were not like his boughs, and the plane trees were not like his branches. Every tree in the garden of God was not like him in its beauty.

9. കൊമ്പുകളുടെ പെരുപ്പം കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അതിന്നു ഭംഗിവരുത്തിയതിനാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടമായ ഏദെനിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതിനോടു അസൂയപ്പെട്ടു.

9. I have made him beautiful by his many branches, and all the trees of Eden that were in the garden of God envied him.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു വളര്ന്നുപൊങ്ങി തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടി അതിന്റെ ഹൃദയം തന്റെ വളര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് ഗര്വ്വിച്ചുപോയതുകൊണ്ടു

10. So the Lord Jehovah says this: Because you were exalted in height, and he has set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height,

11. ഞാന് അതിനെ ജാതികളില് ബലവാനായവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് അതിനോടു ഇടപെടും; അതിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത നിമിത്തം ഞാന് അതിനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. so I have given him into the mighty hand of the nations. Dealing He shall deal with him; I have expelled him for his evil.

12. ജാതികളില് ഉഗ്രന്മാരായ അന്യജാതിക്കാര് അതിനെ വെട്ടി തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകള് മലകളിലും എല്ലാ താഴ്വരകളിലും വീണു; അതിന്റെ ശാഖകള് ദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാതോടുകളുടെയും അരികത്തു ഒടിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളും അതിന്റെ തണല് വിട്ടിറങ്ങി അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോയി.

12. And strangers have cut him off, the fearful of the nations, and have left him. His branches have fallen on the mountains and in all the valleys, and his boughs have been broken in all the ravines of the land. And all the people of the land have gone from his shadow and have left him.

13. വീണുകിടക്കുന്ന അതിന്റെ തടിമേല് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും പാര്ക്കും; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ ഇടയിലേക്കു കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും വരും.

13. All the birds of the heavens shall dwell on his ruin, and on his branches shall be all the beasts of the field,

14. വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെയുള്ള സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഉയരം ഹേതുവായി ഗര്വ്വിക്കയോ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടുകയോ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്നവരായ അവരുടെ സകലബലശാലികളും തങ്ങളുടെ ഉയര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് നിഗളിച്ചു നില്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ; അവരൊക്കെയും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു മരണത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. in order that all the trees by the waters may not be exalted in their height, and do not give their top among the thick boughs, and do not stand up in their mighty exaltation, all drinking waters. For all of them are given to death to the earth's lowest parts, in the midst of the sons of men, with those going down into the Pit.

15. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയ നാളില് ഞാന് ഒരു വിലാപം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; അതിന്നുവേണ്ടി ആഴത്തെ മൂടി പെരുവെള്ളം കെട്ടിനില്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അതിന്റെ നദികളെ തടുത്തു; അതുനിമിത്തം ഞാന് ലെബാനോനെ കറുപ്പുടുപ്പിച്ചു; കാട്ടിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതുനിമിത്തം ക്ഷീണിച്ചു പോയി.

15. So says the Lord Jehovah: In the day he went down to Sheol, I caused a mourning. I covered the deep over him, and I held back her rivers, and many waters were restrained. And I darkened Lebanon on him, and all the trees of the field wilted away because of him.

16. ഞാന് അതിനെ കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ പാതാളത്തില് തള്ളിയിട്ടപ്പോള്, അതിന്റെ വീഴ്ചയുടെ മുക്കത്തിങ്കല് ഞാന് ജാതികളെ നടുങ്ങുമാറാക്കി; ഏദെനിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ലെബാനോനിലെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവും ഉത്തമവുമായി വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ആശ്വാസം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

16. I made the nations shake at the sound of his fall when I made him go out to Sheol with those going down into the Pit. And all the trees of Eden shall be cheered in the earth's lowest parts, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink waters.

17. അവയും അതിനോടുകൂടെ വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരുടെ അടുക്കല് പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയി; അതിന്റെ തുണയായി അതിന്റെ നിഴലില് ജാതികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ പാര്ത്തവര് തന്നേ.

17. They also went down with him into Sheol, to the slain of the sword, even his arm, who dwelt in his shadow in the midst of the nations.

18. അങ്ങനെ നീ മഹത്വത്തിലും വലിപ്പത്തിലും ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളില് ഏതിനോടു തുല്യമാകുന്നു? എന്നാല് നീ ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകേണ്ടിവരും; വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരോടുകൂടെ നീ അഗ്രചര്മ്മികളുടെ ഇടയില് കിടക്കും. ഇതു ഫറവോനും അവന്റെ സകലപുരുഷാരവും തന്നേ എാന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

18. To whom are you like in glory and greatness among Eden's trees? Yet you shall go down with the trees of Eden to the earth's lowest parts. You shall lie amidst the uncircumcised with the slain of the sword. He is Pharaoh and all his host, declares the Lord Jehovah.
