1. യിസ്രായേല് ബാലനായിരുന്നപ്പോള് ഞാന് അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു; മിസ്രയീമില് നിന്നു ഞാന് എന്റെ മകനെ വിളിച്ചു.
മത്തായി 2:15

1. 'When Yisra'el was a child, then I loved him, And called my son out of Mitzrayim.

2. അവരെ വിളിക്കുന്തോറും അവര് വിട്ടകന്നുപോയി; ബാല്ബിംബങ്ങള്ക്കു അവര് ബലികഴിച്ചു, വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള്ക്കു ധൂപം കാട്ടി.

2. They called to them, so they went from them. They sacrificed to the Ba`alim, And burned incense to engraved images.

3. ഞാന് എഫ്രയീമിനെ നടപ്പാന് ശീലിപ്പിച്ചു; ഞാന് അവരെ എന്റെ ഭുജങ്ങളില് എടുത്തു; എങ്കിലും ഞാന് അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി എന്നു അവര് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

3. Yet I taught Efrayim to walk. Itook them by his arms; But they didn't know that I healed them.

4. മനുഷ്യപാശങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടു, സ്നേഹബന്ധനങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ, ഞാന് അവരെ വലിച്ചു; അവരുടെ താടിയെല്ലിന്മേലുള്ള നുകം നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നവനെപ്പോലെ ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും ആയിരുന്നു; ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും തീന് ഇട്ടുകൊടുത്തു.

4. I drew them with cords of a man, with ties of love; And I was to them like those who lift up the yoke on their necks; And I bent down to him and I fed him.

5. അവന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകയില്ല; എന്നാല് മടങ്ങിവരുവാന് അവര്ക്കും മനസ്സില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അശ്ശൂര്യ്യന് അവന്റെ രാജാവാകും.

5. 'They won't return into the land of Mitzrayim; But the Ashshur will be their king, Because they refused to repent.

6. അവരുടെ ആലോചന നിമിത്തം വാള് അവന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിന്മേല് വീണു അവന്റെ ഔടാമ്പലുകളെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു ഒടുക്കിക്കളയും.

6. The sword will fall on their cities, And will consume their gate bars, And will put an end to their plans.

7. എന്റെ ജനം എന്നെ വിട്ടു പിന്തിരിവാന് ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരെ മേലോട്ടു വിളിച്ചാലും ആരും നിവിര്ന്നുനിലക്കുന്നില്ല.

7. My people are determined to turn from me. Though they call to Ha`Elyon, He certainly won't exalt them.

8. എഫ്രയീമേ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ എങ്ങനെ വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കും? യിസ്രായേലേ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ എങ്ങനെ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും? ഞാന് നിന്നെ എങ്ങനെ അദ്മയെപ്പോലെ ആക്കും? ഞാന് നിന്നെ എങ്ങനെ സെബോയിമിനെപ്പോലെ ആക്കിത്തീര്ക്കും? എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളില് മറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളുന്നു; എന്റെ അയ്യോഭാവം ഒക്കെയും ജ്വലിക്കുന്നു.

8. 'How can I give you up, Efrayim? How can I hand you over, Yisra'el? How can I make you like Admah? How can I make you like Tzevoyim? My heart is turned within me, My compassion is aroused.

9. എന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം ഞാന് നടത്തുകയില്ല; ഞാന് എഫ്രയീമിനെ വീണ്ടും നശിപ്പിക്കയുമില്ല; ഞാന് മനുഷ്യനല്ല ദൈവം അത്രേ. നിന്റെ നടുവില് പരിശുദ്ധന് തന്നേ; ഞാന് ക്രോധത്തോടെ വരികയുമില്ല.

9. I will not execute the fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Efrayim: For I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of you; And I will not come in wrath.

10. സിംഹംപോലെ ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ അവര് നടക്കും; അവന് ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കുമ്പോള് പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നു മക്കള് വിറെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വരും.

10. They will walk after the LORD, Who will roar like a lion; For he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west.

11. അവര് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു ഒരു പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെയും അശ്ശൂര്ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു പ്രാവിനെപ്പോലെയും വിറെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വരും; ഞാന് അവരെ അവരുടെ വീടുകളില് പാര്പ്പിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11. They will come trembling like a bird out of Mitzrayim, And like a dove out of the land of Ashshur; And I will settle them in their houses,' says the LORD.

12. എഫ്രയീം കപടംകൊണ്ടും യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹം വഞ്ചനകൊണ്ടും എന്നെ ചുറ്റിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; യെഹൂദയും, ദൈവത്തോടും വിശ്വസ്തനായ പരിശുദ്ധനോടും ഇന്നും അസ്ഥിരത കാണിക്കുന്നു.

12. Efrayim surrounds me with falsehood, And the house of Yisra'el with deceit; And Yehudah still us unruly with God, And is unfaithful to the Holy One.
