1. യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹമേ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലാപംചൊല്ലുന്ന ഈ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് !

1. Hear this Word which I take up against you, a dirge, O house of Israel.

2. യിസ്രായേല്കന്യക വീണിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി എഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും ഇല്ല; അവള് നിലത്തോടു പറ്റിക്കിടക്കുന്നു; അവളെ നിവിര്ക്കുംവാന് ആരുമില്ല.

2. The virgin of Israel has fallen; she shall rise no more; she lies forsaken on her land. There is none to raise her up.

3. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുയിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തില് ആയിരം പേരുമായി പുറപ്പെട്ട പട്ടണത്തില് നൂറുപേര് മാത്രം ശേഷിക്കും; നൂറു പേരുമായി പുറപ്പെട്ടതിന്നു പത്തുപേര് മാത്രം ശേഷിക്കും.

3. For thus says the Lord Jehovah: The city that went out by a thousand shall leave a hundred, and that which went out by a hundred shall have ten left in the house of Israel.

4. യഹോവ യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തോടു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് .

4. For so says Jehovah to the house of Israel: Seek Me, and you shall live.

5. ബേഥേലിനെ അന്വേഷിക്കരുതു; ഗില്ഗാലിലേക്കു ചെല്ലരുതു; ബേര്-ശേബയിലേക്കു കടക്കയുമരുതു; ഗില്ഗാല് പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരും; ബേഥേല് നാസ്തിയായി ഭവിക്കും.

5. But do not seek Bethel nor enter into Gilgal, and do not pass to Beer-sheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall come to nothing.

6. നിങ്ങള് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് ; അല്ലെങ്കില് അവന് ബേഥേലില് ആര്ക്കും കെടുത്തുവാന് കഴിയാത്ത ഒരു തീപോലെ യോസേഫ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്മേല് ചാടി അതിനെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

6. Seek Jehovah, and you shall live; lest He break out like a fire on the house of Joseph and devour it, and there be none to put it out in Bethel.

7. ന്യായത്തെ കാഞ്ഞിരം ആക്കിത്തീര്ക്കുംകയും നീതിയെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരേ,

7. You who turn judgment to wormwood and leave off righteousness in the earth,

8. കാര്ത്തികയെയും മകയിരത്തെയും സൃഷ്ടിക്കയും അന്ധതമസ്സിനെ പ്രഭാതമാക്കി മാറ്റുകയും പകലിനെ രാത്രിയാക്കി ഇരുട്ടുകയും സമുദ്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളത്തെ വിളിച്ചു ഭൂതലത്തില് പകരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവനെ അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് ; യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം.

8. seek Him who created the Pleiades and Orion, and who turned the deep darkness into the morning and He darkened the day into night. Seek Him who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the face of the earth; Jehovah is His name;

9. അവന് കോട്ടെക്കു നാശം വരുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ബലവാന്റെ മേല് നാശം മിന്നിക്കുന്നു.

9. who causes destruction to flash out against the strong, and destruction comes against the fortress.

10. ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കല് ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നവനെ അവര് ദ്വേഷിക്കയും പരമാര്ത്ഥം സംസാരിക്കുന്നവനെ വെറുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

10. They hate him who rebukes in the gate, and they despise him who speaks uprightly.

11. അങ്ങിനെ നിങ്ങള് എളിയവനെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളകയും അവനോടു കോഴയായി ധാന്യം വാങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതിനാല് നിങ്ങള് വെട്ടുകല്ലുകൊണ്ടു വീടു പണിയും; അതില് പാര്ക്കയില്ലതാനും; നിങ്ങള് മനോഹരമായ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടാക്കും; അവയിലെ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയില്ലതാനും;

11. So, because of your trampling on the poor, and you take tribute of grain from him; you have built houses of carved stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted desirable vineyards, but you shall not drink wine from them.

12. നീതിമാനെ ക്ളേശിപ്പിച്ചു കൈക്കൂലി വാങ്ങുകയും ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കല് ദരിദ്രന്മാരുടെ ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ അതിക്രമങ്ങള് അനവധിയും നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങള് കഠിനവും എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

12. For I know your many transgressions and your many sins. They afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate.

13. അതുകൊണ്ടു ബുദ്ധിമാന് ഈ കാലത്തു മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു ദുഷ്കാലമല്ലോ;

13. So the understanding ones shall keep silent in that time; for it is an evil time.

14. നിങ്ങള് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തിന്മയല്ല നന്മ തന്നേ അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് ; അപ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതുപോലെ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും.

14. Seek good and not evil, that you may live; and so Jehovah, the God of Hosts, shall be with you, as you have spoken.

15. നിങ്ങള് തിന്മ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു നന്മ ഇച്ഛിച്ചു ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കല് ന്യായം നിലനിര്ത്തുവിന് ; പക്ഷേ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ യോസേഫില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരോടു കൃപ കാണിക്കും.

15. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate. It may be that the Lord Jehovah of Hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

16. അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്ന കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; സകല വീഥികളിലും വിലാപം ഉണ്ടാകും; എല്ലാ തെരുക്കളിലും അവര്അയ്യോ, അയ്യോ എന്നു പറയും; അവര് കൃഷിക്കാരെ ദുഃഖിപ്പാനും പ്രലാപജ്ഞന്മാരെ വിലാപിപ്പാനും വിളിക്കും.

16. So Jehovah, the God of Hosts, the Master, says this: Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! Alas! And they shall call the tiller to mourning, and those who are skillful in mourning to wailing.

17. ഞാന് നിന്റെ നടുവില് കൂടി കടന്നുപോകുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എല്ലാ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളിലും വിലാപമുണ്ടാകും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

17. And there shall be wailing in all vineyards; for I will pass through you, says Jehovah.

18. യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസത്തിന്നായി വാഞ്ഛിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു ഗുണം! അതു വെളിച്ചമല്ല ഇരുട്ടത്രേ.

18. Woe to those desiring the day of Jehovah! What is this for you? The day of Jehovah is darkness and not light;

19. അതു ഒരുത്തന് സിംഹത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഔടിപ്പോയിട്ടു കരടി അവന്നു എതിര്പ്പെടുകയോ വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു കൈവെച്ചു ചുമരോടു ചാരീട്ടു സര്പ്പം അവനെ കടിക്കയോ ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ ആകുന്നു.

19. as if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him.

20. യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം വെളിച്ചമല്ല, ഇരുള് തന്നെയല്ലോ; ഒട്ടും പ്രകാശമില്ലാതെ അന്ധതമസ്സു തന്നേ.

20. Shall not the day of Jehovah be darkness and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?

21. നിങ്ങളുടെ മത്സരങ്ങളെ ഞാന് ദ്വേഷിച്ചു നിരസിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ സഭായോഗങ്ങളില് എനിക്കു പ്രസാദമില്ല.

21. I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not delight in your solemn assemblies.

22. നിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും ഭോജനയാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചാലും ഞാന് പ്രസാദിക്കയില്ല; തടിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളെ ഞാന് കടാക്ഷിക്കയില്ല.

22. Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your food offerings, I will not be pleased. Nor will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.

23. നിന്റെ പാട്ടുകളുടെ സ്വരം എന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കുക; നിന്റെ വീണാനാദം ഞാന് കേള്ക്കയില്ല.

23. Take the noise of your songs away from Me; for I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments.

24. എന്നാല് ന്യായം വെള്ളംപോലെയും നീതി വറ്റാത്ത തോടുപോലെയും കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകട്ടെ.

24. But let judgment roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.

25. യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹമേ, നിങ്ങള് മരുഭൂമിയില് എനിക്കു നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളും ഭോജനയാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചുവോ?

25. Have you offered sacrifices and offerings to Me forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?

26. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളായി നിങ്ങളുടെ നക്ഷത്രദേവനായ കീയൂനെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവായ സിക്കൂത്തിനെയും നിങ്ങള് ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു പോകേണ്ടിവരും.

26. But you have carried the booth of your king and Kiyyun, your images, the star of your gods which you made for yourselves.

27. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ ദമ്മേശെക്കിന്നു അപ്പുറം പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകുമാറാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം.

27. So I will cause you to go into exile beyond Damascus, says Jehovah, the God of Hosts is His name.
