1. അവന് പിന്നെയും കടല്ക്കരെവെച്ചു ഉപദേശിപ്പാന് തുടങ്ങി. അപ്പോള് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പുരുഷാരം അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു കൂടുകകൊണ്ടു അവന് പടകില് കയറി കടലില് ഇരുന്നു; പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും കടലരികെ കരയില് ആയിരുന്നു.

1. And he began again to teach by the seaside. And there gathered together unto him much people, so greatly that he entered in to a ship, and sat in the sea, and all the people was by the seaside on the shore:

2. അവന് ഉപമകളാല് അവരെ പലതും ഉപദേശിച്ചു, ഉപദേശത്തില് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു

2. And he taught them many things in similitudes, and said unto them in his doctrine.

3. കേള്പ്പിന് ; വിതെക്കുന്നവന് വിതെപ്പാന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

3. Hearken to. Behold; The sower went out to sow,

4. വിതെക്കുമ്പോള് ചിലതു വഴിയരികെ വിണു; പറവകള് വന്നു അതു തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

4. and it fortuned(happened) as he sowed, that some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

5. മറ്റു ചിലതു പാറസ്ഥലത്തു ഏറെ മണ്ണില്ലാത്തേടത്തു വീണു; മണ്ണിന്നു താഴ്ച ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് ക്ഷണത്തില് മുളെച്ചുവന്നു.

5. Some fell on a stony ground: where it had not much earth: and by and by sprang up, because it had not depth of earth:

6. സൂര്യന് ഉദിച്ചാറെ ചൂടു തട്ടി, വേരില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

6. and(but) as soon as the sun was up it caught heat: and because it had not rooting it withered away.

7. മറ്റു ചിലതു മുള്ളിന്നിടയില് വീണു; മുള്ളു മുളെച്ചു വളര്ന്നു അതിനെ ഞെരുക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അതു വിളഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

7. And some fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, so that it gave no fruit.

8. മറ്റു ചിലതു നല്ലമണ്ണില് വീണിട്ടു മുളെച്ചു വളര്ന്നു ഫലം കൊടുത്തു; മുപ്പതും അറുപതും നൂറും മേനി വിളഞ്ഞു.

8. And some fell upon good ground: and did yield fruit that sprang and grew: and brought forth some thirty fold, some forty(sixty) fold, and some an hundred fold.

9. കേള്പ്പാന് ചെവി ഉള്ളവന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ എന്നും അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. And he said unto them: He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10. അനന്തരം അവന് തനിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവന് പന്തിരുവരുമായി ആ ഉപമകളെക്കുറിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. (And) When he was alone, they that were, about him with the twelve asked him of the similitude.

11. അവരോടു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവരാജ്യത്തിന്റെ മര്മ്മം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു നല്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; പുറത്തുള്ളവര്ക്കോ സകലവും ഉപമകളാല് ലഭിക്കുന്നു.

11. And he said unto them: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: But unto them that are without, shall all things be done in similitudes:

12. അവര് മനംതിരിയാതെയും അവരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കാതെയും ഇരിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവര് കണ്ടിട്ടും അറിയാതിരിപ്പാനും കേട്ടിട്ടും ഗ്രഹിക്കാതിരിപ്പാനും സംഗതിവരും.
യെശയ്യാ 6:9-10

12. that when they see, they shall see, and not discern: and when they hear they shall hear, and not understand: lest at any time they should turn, and their sins should be forgiven them.

13. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഈ ഉപമ ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? പിന്നെ മറ്റെ ഉപമകള് ഒക്കെയും എങ്ങനെ ഗ്രഹിക്കും?

13. And he said unto them: Perceive ye not this similitude. And how ye shall know all similitudes?(how then should ye understand all other similitudes?)

14. വിതെക്കുന്നവന് വചനം വിതെക്കുന്നു.

14. The sower soweth the word.

15. വചനം വിതച്ചിട്ടു വഴിയരികെ വീണതു, കേട്ട ഉടനെ സാത്താന് വന്നു ഹൃദയങ്ങളില് വിതെക്കപ്പെട്ട വചനം എടുത്തുകളയുന്നതാകുന്നു.

15. These be they which(And they that) are by the ways side, where the word is sown, (are they) to whom as soon as they have heard it, cometh (immediately) the devil(satan) and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ പാറസ്ഥലത്തു വിതെച്ചതു വചനം കേട്ട ഉടനെ സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവര്;

16. And these also are(And likewise) they that are sown on the stony ground: which when they have heard the word, at once they receive it with joy,(gladness)

17. എങ്കിലും അവര് ഉള്ളില് വേരില്ലാതെ ക്ഷണികന് മാര് ആകുന്നു; വചനം നിമിത്തം ഉപദ്രവമോ പീഡയോ ഉണ്ടായാല് ക്ഷണത്തില് ഇടറിപ്പോകുന്നു.

17. yet have no root(rotes) in themselves, and so endure but for a season:(time: and anon) afterward as soon as any trouble or(and) persecution ariseth for the word's sake, anon(immediately) they fall.(are offended)

18. മുള്ളിന്നിടയില് വിതെക്കപ്പെട്ടതോ വചനം കേട്ടിട്ടു

18. And these are they that are sown among the thorns, which(are such as) hear the word of God,

19. ഇഹലോകത്തിന്റെ ചിന്തകളും ധനത്തിന്റെ വഞ്ചനയും മറ്റുവിഷയ മോഹങ്ങളും അകത്തു കടന്നു, വചനത്തെ ഞെരുക്കി നഷ്ഫലമാക്കി തീര്ക്കുംന്നതാകുന്നു.

19. and the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things enter in, and choke the word, and it is made unfruitful.

20. നല്ലമണ്ണില് വിതെക്കപ്പെട്ടതോ വചനം കേള്ക്കയും അംഗീകരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര് തന്നേ; അവര് മുപ്പതും അറുപതും നൂറും മേനി വിളയുന്നു.

20. And these(those) that were sown in good ground, are they that hear the word and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirty fold some sixty fold, some an hundred fold.

21. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുവിളകൂ കത്തിച്ചു പറയിന് കീഴിലോ കട്ടീല്ക്കീഴിലോ വെക്കുമാറുണ്ടോ? വിളകൂതണ്ടിന്മേലല്ലയോ വെക്കുന്നതു?

21. And he said unto them: is the candle lighted, to be put under a bushel, or under the bord:(table: and) is it not therefore(rather) lighted that it should(to) be put on a candlestick?

22. വെളിപ്പെടുവാനുള്ളതല്ലാതെ ഗൂഢമായതു ഒന്നും ഇല്ല; വെളിച്ചത്തു വരുവാനുള്ളതല്ലാതെ മറവായതു ഒന്നും ഇല്ല.

22. For there is nothing so privy,(nothing hid) that shall not be opened: neither so secret, but that it shall come abroad.(that shall not be known)

23. കേള്പ്പാന് ചെവി ഉള്ളവന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ.

23. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

24. നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു സൂക്ഷിച്ചു കൊള്വിന് ; നിങ്ങള് അളക്കുന്ന അളവു കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള്ക്കും അളന്നുകിട്ടും; അധികമായും കിട്ടും.

24. And he said unto them: take heed what ye hear. With what measure ye mete, with the same shall it be measured unto you again. And unto you that have(hear) shall more be given.

25. ഉള്ളവന്നു കൊടുക്കും; ഇല്ലാത്തവനോടോ ഉള്ളതുംകൂടെ എടുത്തുകളയും എന്നും അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. For unto him that hath, shall it be given: And unto(from) him that hath not, shall be taken away, even that he hath.

26. പിന്നെ അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവരാജ്യം ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് മണ്ണില് വിത്തു എറിഞ്ഞശേഷം

26. And he said: so is the kingdom of God, even as if a man should sow seed in the ground,

27. രാവും പകലും ഉറങ്ങിയും എഴുന്നേറ്റും ഇരിക്കെ അവന് അറിയാതെ വിത്തു മുളെച്ചു വളരുന്നതുപോലെ ആകുന്നു.

27. and should sleep and rise up night and day: and the seed should spring, and grow up while he is not ware.

28. ഭൂമി സ്വയമായി മുമ്പെ ഞാറും പിന്നെ കതിരും പിന്നെ കതിരില് നിറഞ്ഞ മണിയും ഇങ്ങനെ വിളയുന്നു.

28. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself, first the blade, then the ears, after that full corn in the ears.

29. ധാന്യം വിളയുമ്പോള് കൊയ്ത്തായതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് ഉടനെ അരിവാള് വെക്കുന്നു.
യോവേൽ 3:13

29. And as soon as the fruit is brought forth, anon he thrusteth in the sickle because that harvest is come.

30. പിന്നെ അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ എങ്ങനെ ഉപമിക്കേണ്ടു? ഏതു ഉപമയാല് അതിനെ വര്ണ്ണിക്കേണ്ടു?

30. And he said: whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

31. അതു കടുകുമണിയോടു സദൃശം; അതിനെ മണ്ണില് വിതെക്കുമ്പോള്ഭൂമിയിലെ എല്ലാവിത്തിലും ചെറിയതു.

31. It is like a grain of mustard seed, which when it is sown in the earth, is the least of all seeds that be in the earth:

32. എങ്കിലും വിതെച്ചശേഷം വളര്ന്നു, സകലസസ്യങ്ങളിലും വലുതായിത്തീര്ന്നു, ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികള് അതിന്റെ നിഴലില് വസിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം വലുതായ കൊമ്പുകളെ വിടുന്നു.

32. And(but) after that it is sown it groweth up, and is greatest of all herbs: and beareth great branches so that the fowls of the air may dwell under the shadow of it.

33. അവന് ഇങ്ങനെ പല ഉപമകളാല് അവര്ക്കും കേള്പ്പാന് കഴിയുംപോലെ അവരോടു വചനം പറഞ്ഞുപോന്നു.

33. And with many such similitudes he preached the word unto them, after as they might hear it.

34. ഉപമ കൂടാതെ അവരോു ഒന്നും പറഞ്ഞതുമില്ല; തനിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു സകലവും വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കും.

34. And without similitude spake he nothing unto them. But when they were apart, he expounded all things to his disciples.

35. അന്നു സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോള്നാം അക്കരെക്കു പോക എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു

35. And the same day when even was come he said unto them: let us pass over into(unto) the other side.

36. അവര് പുരുഷാരത്തെ വിട്ടു, താന് പടകില്ഇരുന്നപാടെ അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി; മറ്റു ചെറുപടകുകളും കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു;

36. And they late the people depart(left the people) and took him even as he was in the ship. (And) There were also with him other ships.

37. അപ്പോള് വലിയ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റു ഉണ്ടായിപടകില് തിര തള്ളിക്കയറുകകൊണ്ടു അതു മുങ്ങുമാറായി.

37. And there arose a great storm of wind, and dashed the waves into the ship, so that it was full.

38. അവന് അമരത്തു തലയണ വെച്ചു ഉറങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു; അവര് അവനെ ഉണര്ത്തിഗുരോ, ഞങ്ങള് നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നതില് നിനക്കു വിചാരം ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. And he was in the stern asleep on a pillow. And they awoke him, and said to him: Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39. അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാറ്റിനെ ശാസിച്ചു, കടലിനോടുഅനങ്ങാതിരിക്ക, അടങ്ങുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; കാറ്റു അമര്ന്നു, വലിയ ശാന്തത ഉണ്ടായി.

39. And he rose up and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea: peace and be still. And the wind allayed, and there followed a great calm:

40. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ഇങ്ങനെ ഭീരുക്കള് ആകുവാന് എന്തു? നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇപ്പോഴും വിശ്വാസമില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. and he said unto them: why are ye (so) fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?

41. അവര് വളരെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടുകാറ്റും കടലും കൂടെ ഇവനെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഇവന് ആര് എന്നു തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.
യെശയ്യാ 52:14

41. And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another: what fellow is this? for both wind and sea obey him.
