1. അവര് കടലിന്റെ അക്കരെ ഗദരദേശത്തു എത്തി.

1. Jesus and his disciples crossed Lake Galilee and came to shore near the town of Gerasa.

2. പടകില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിയ ഉടനെ അശുദ്ധാത്മാവുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് കല്ലറകളില് നിന്നു വന്നു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു.

2. When he was getting out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit quickly ran to him

3. അവന്റെ പാര്പ്പു കല്ലറകളില് ആയിരുന്നു; ആര്ക്കും അവനെ ചങ്ങലകൊണ്ടുപോലും ബന്ധിച്ചുകൂടാഞ്ഞു.

3. from the graveyard where he had been living. No one was able to tie the man up anymore, not even with a chain.

4. പലപ്പോഴും അവനെ വിലങ്ങും ചങ്ങലയുംകൊണ്ടു ബന്ധിച്ചിട്ടും അവന് ചങ്ങല വലിച്ചുപൊട്ടിച്ചും വിലങ്ങു ഉരുമ്മി ഒടിച്ചും കളഞ്ഞു; ആര്ക്കും അവനെ അടക്കുവാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

4. He had often been put in chains and leg irons, but he broke the chains and smashed the leg irons. No one could control him.

5. അവന് രാവും പകലും കല്ലറകളിലും മലകളിലും ഇടവിടാതെ നിലവിളിച്ചും തന്നെത്താല് കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു ചതെച്ചും പോന്നു.

5. Night and day he was in the graveyard or on the hills, yelling and cutting himself with stones.

6. അവന് യേശുവിനെ ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഔടിച്ചെന്നു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

6. When the man saw Jesus in the distance, he ran up to him and knelt down.

7. അവന് ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചുയേശുവേ, മഹോന്നതനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രാ, എനിക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? ദൈവത്താണ, എന്നെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കരുതേ എന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. He shouted, 'Jesus, Son of God in heaven, what do you want with me? Promise me in God's name that you won't torture me!'

8. അശുദ്ധാത്മാവേ, ഈ മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോക എന്നു യേശു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

8. The man said this because Jesus had already told the evil spirit to come out of him.

9. നിന്റെ പേരെന്തു എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഎന്റെ പേര് ലെഗ്യോന് ; ഞങ്ങള് പലര് ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു;

9. Jesus asked, 'What is your name?' The man answered, 'My name is Lots, because I have 'lots' of evil spirits.'

10. നാട്ടില് നിന്നു തങ്ങളെ അയച്ചുകളയാതിരിപ്പാന് ഏറിയോന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

10. He then begged Jesus not to send them away.

11. അവിടെ മലയരികെ ഒരു വലിയ പന്നിക്കൂട്ടം മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

11. Over on the hillside a large herd of pigs was feeding.

12. ആ പന്നികളില് കടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ അയക്കേണം എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു;

12. So the evil spirits begged Jesus, 'Send us into those pigs! Let us go into them.'

13. അവന് അനുവാദം കൊടുത്തു; അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കള് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പന്നികളില് കടന്നിട്ടു കൂട്ടം കടുന്തൂക്കത്തൂടെ കടലിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞു വീര്പ്പുമുട്ടി ചത്തു. അവ ഏകദേശം രണ്ടായിരം ആയിരുന്നു.

13. Jesus let them go, and they went out of the man and into the pigs. The whole herd of about two thousand pigs rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.

14. പന്നികളെ മേയക്കുന്നവര് ഔടിച്ചെന്നു പട്ടണത്തിലും നാട്ടിലും അറിയിച്ചു; സംഭവിച്ചതു കാണ്മാന് പലരും പുറപ്പെട്ടു,

14. The men taking care of the pigs ran to the town and the farms to spread the news. Then the people came out to see what had happened.

15. യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു, ലെഗ്യോന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തന് വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചും സുബോധം പൂണ്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

15. When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had once been full of demons. He was sitting there with his clothes on and in his right mind, and they were terrified.

16. കണ്ടവര് ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തന്നു സംഭവിച്ചതും പന്നികളുടെ കാര്യവും അവരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

16. Everyone who had seen what had happened told about the man and the pigs.

17. അപ്പോള് അവര് അവനോടു തങ്ങളുടെ അതിര് വിട്ടുപോകുവാന് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

17. Then the people started begging Jesus to leave their part of the country.

18. അവന് പടകു ഏറുമ്പോള് ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തനായിരുന്നവന് താനും കൂടെ പോരട്ടെ എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

18. When Jesus was getting into the boat, the man begged to go with him.

19. യേശു അവനെ അനുവദിക്കാതെനിന്റെ വീട്ടില് നിനക്കുള്ളവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു, കര്ത്താവു നിനക്കു ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും നിന്നോടു കരുണകാണിച്ചതും പ്രസ്താവിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. But Jesus would not let him. Instead, he said, 'Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how good he has been to you.'

20. അവന് പോയി യേശു തനിക്കു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും ദെക്കപ്പൊലിനാട്ടില് ഘോഷിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുകയുമ ചെയ്തു.

20. The man went away into the region near the ten cities known as Decapolis and began telling everyone how much Jesus had done for him. Everyone who heard what had happened was amazed.

21. യേശു വീണ്ടും പടകില് കയറി ഇവരെ കടന്നു കടലരികെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് വലിയ പുരുഷാരം അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുകൂടി.

21. Once again Jesus got into the boat and crossed Lake Galilee. Then as he stood on the shore, a large crowd gathered around him.

22. പള്ളി പ്രമാണികളില് യായീറൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരുത്തന് വന്നു, അവനെ കണ്ടു കാല്ക്കല് വീണു

22. The person in charge of the Jewish meeting place was also there. His name was Jairus, and when he saw Jesus, he went over to him. He knelt at Jesus' feet

23. എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുമകള് അത്യാസനത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവള് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ വന്നു അവളുടെമേല് കൈ വെക്കേണമേ എന്നു വളരെ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

23. and started begging him for help. He said, 'My daughter is about to die! Please come and touch her, so she will get well and live.'

24. അവന് അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി, വലിയ പുരുഷാരവും പിന് ചെന്നു അവനെ തിക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

24. Jesus went with Jairus. Many people followed along and kept crowding around.

25. പന്ത്രണ്ടു സംവത്സരമായിട്ടു രക്തസ്രവമുള്ളവളായി

25. In the crowd was a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years.

26. പല വൈദ്യന്മാരാലും ഏറിയോന്നു സഹിച്ചു തനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ചെലവഴിച്ചിട്ടും ഒട്ടും ഭേദം വരാതെ ഏറ്റവും പരവശയായി തീര്ന്നിരുന്ന ഒരു സ്ത്രീ യേശുവിന്റെ വര്ത്തമാനം കേട്ടു

26. She had gone to many doctors, and they had not done anything except cause her a lot of pain. She had paid them all the money she had. But instead of getting better, she only got worse.

27. അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എങ്കിലും തൊട്ടാല് ഞാന് രക്ഷപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പുരുഷാരത്തില്കൂടി പുറകില് വന്നു അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം തൊട്ടു.

27. The woman had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him in the crowd and barely touched his clothes.

28. ക്ഷണത്തില് അവളുടെ രക്തസ്രവം നിന്നു; ബാധ മാറി താന് സ്വസ്ഥയായി എന്നു അവള് ശരീരത്തില് അറിഞ്ഞു.

28. She had said to herself, 'If I can just touch his clothes, I will get well.'

29. ഉടനെ യേശു തങ്കല്നിന്നു ശക്തി പുറപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു ഉള്ളില് അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തില് തിരിഞ്ഞുഎന്റെ വസ്ത്രം തൊട്ടതു ആര് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

29. As soon as she touched them, her bleeding stopped, and she knew she was well.

30. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടു പുരുഷാരം നിന്നെ തിരക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടും എന്നെ തൊട്ടതു ആര് എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30. At that moment Jesus felt power go out from him. He turned to the crowd and asked, 'Who touched my clothes?'

31. അവനോ അതു ചെയ്തവളെ കാണ്മാന് ചുറ്റും നോക്കി.

31. His disciples said to him, 'Look at all these people crowding around you! How can you ask who touched you?'

32. സ്ത്രീ തനിക്കു സംഭവിച്ചതു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഭായപ്പെട്ടും വിറെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് വീണു വസ്തുത ഒക്കെയും അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

32. But Jesus turned to see who had touched him.

33. അവന് അവളോടുമകളേ, നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോയി ബാധ ഒഴിഞ്ഞു സ്വസ്ഥയായിരിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. The woman knew what had happened to her. She came shaking with fear and knelt down in front of Jesus. Then she told him the whole story.

34. ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ പള്ളി പ്രമാണിയുടെ വീട്ടില് നിന്നു ആള് വന്നുനിന്റെ മകള് മരിച്ചുപോയി; ഗുരുവിനെ ഇനി അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34. Jesus said to the woman, 'You are now well because of your faith. May God give you peace! You are healed, and you will no longer be in pain.'

35. യേശു ആ വാക്കു കാര്യമാക്കാതെ പള്ളിപ്രമാണിയോടുഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ, വിശ്വസിക്ക മാത്രം ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from Jairus' home and said, 'Your daughter has died! Why bother the teacher anymore?'

36. പത്രൊസും യാക്കോബും യാക്കോബിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരും തന്നോടുകൂടെ ചെല്ലുവാന് സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.

36. Jesus heard what they said, and he said to Jairus, 'Don't worry. Just have faith!'

37. പള്ളിപ്രമാണിയുടെ വീട്ടില് വന്നാറെ ആരവാരത്തെയും വളരെ കരഞ്ഞു വിലപിക്കുന്നവരെയും കണ്ടു;

37. Jesus did not let anyone go with him except Peter and the two brothers, James and John.

38. അകത്തു കടന്നുനിങ്ങളുടെ ആരവാരവും കരച്ചലും എന്തിന്നു? കുട്ടി മരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, ഉറങ്ങുന്നത്രേ എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവരോ അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു.

38. They went home with Jairus and saw the people crying and making a lot of noise.

39. അവന് എല്ലാവരെയും പുറത്താക്കി കുട്ടിയുടെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും തന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു കുട്ടി കിടക്കുന്ന ഇടത്തുചെന്നു കുട്ടിയുടെ കൈകൂ പിടിച്ചു

39. Then Jesus went inside and said to them, 'Why are you crying and carrying on like this? The child isn't dead. She is just asleep.'

40. ബാലേ, എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക എന്നു നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്ന അര്ത്ഥത്തോടെ തലീഥാ ക്കുമി എന്നു അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. But the people laughed at him. After Jesus had sent them all out of the house, he took the girl's father and mother and his three disciples and went to where she was.

41. ബാല ഉടനെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നടന്നു; അവള്ക്കു പന്ത്രണ്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവര് അത്യന്തം വിസ്മയിച്ചു

41. He took the twelve-year-old girl by the hand and said, 'Talitha, koum!' which means, 'Little girl, get up!' The girl got right up and started walking around. Everyone was greatly surprised.

42. ഇതു ആരും അറിയരുതു എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ഏറിയോന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അവള്ക്കു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കേണം എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു.
