1. അവര് കടലിന്റെ അക്കരെ ഗദരദേശത്തു എത്തി.

1. And they came over to the other side of the sea into the country of the Gaderens.

2. പടകില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിയ ഉടനെ അശുദ്ധാത്മാവുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് കല്ലറകളില് നിന്നു വന്നു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു.

2. And when he was come out of the ship, anon (there) met him out of the graves a man possessed of an unclean spirit,

3. അവന്റെ പാര്പ്പു കല്ലറകളില് ആയിരുന്നു; ആര്ക്കും അവനെ ചങ്ങലകൊണ്ടുപോലും ബന്ധിച്ചുകൂടാഞ്ഞു.

3. which had his abiding among the graves. And no man could bind him (no not) with chains,

4. പലപ്പോഴും അവനെ വിലങ്ങും ചങ്ങലയുംകൊണ്ടു ബന്ധിച്ചിട്ടും അവന് ചങ്ങല വലിച്ചുപൊട്ടിച്ചും വിലങ്ങു ഉരുമ്മി ഒടിച്ചും കളഞ്ഞു; ആര്ക്കും അവനെ അടക്കുവാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

4. because that when he was often bound with fetters and chains, he plucked the chains asunder, and brake the fetters in pieces: Neither could any man tame him.

5. അവന് രാവും പകലും കല്ലറകളിലും മലകളിലും ഇടവിടാതെ നിലവിളിച്ചും തന്നെത്താല് കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു ചതെച്ചും പോന്നു.

5. And always both night and day he cried in the mountains and in the graves and beat himself with stones.

6. അവന് യേശുവിനെ ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഔടിച്ചെന്നു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

6. When he had spied Jesus afar off, he ran, and worshipped him,(fell down before him)

7. അവന് ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചുയേശുവേ, മഹോന്നതനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രാ, എനിക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? ദൈവത്താണ, എന്നെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കരുതേ എന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. and cried with a loud voice and said: what have I to do, with thee Jesus the son of the most highest God? I require thee in the name of God, that thou torment me not.

8. അശുദ്ധാത്മാവേ, ഈ മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോക എന്നു യേശു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

8. For he had said unto him: Come forth(out) of the man thou foul spirit.

9. നിന്റെ പേരെന്തു എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഎന്റെ പേര് ലെഗ്യോന് ; ഞങ്ങള് പലര് ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു;

9. And he asked him: what is thy name? and he answered him, (saying:) my name is Legion, for we are many.

10. നാട്ടില് നിന്നു തങ്ങളെ അയച്ചുകളയാതിരിപ്പാന് ഏറിയോന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

10. And he prayed him instantly, that he would not send them away out of that region.(the country.)

11. അവിടെ മലയരികെ ഒരു വലിയ പന്നിക്കൂട്ടം മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

11. (And) There was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding,

12. ആ പന്നികളില് കടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ അയക്കേണം എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു;

12. and all the devils besought him saying: send us into the herd of swine, that we may enter into them.

13. അവന് അനുവാദം കൊടുത്തു; അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കള് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പന്നികളില് കടന്നിട്ടു കൂട്ടം കടുന്തൂക്കത്തൂടെ കടലിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞു വീര്പ്പുമുട്ടി ചത്തു. അവ ഏകദേശം രണ്ടായിരം ആയിരുന്നു.

13. And anon Jesus gave them leave; And the unclean spirits went out and entered into the swine. And the herd startled, and ran headlong into the sea. They were about two thousand swine, and they were drowned in the sea.

14. പന്നികളെ മേയക്കുന്നവര് ഔടിച്ചെന്നു പട്ടണത്തിലും നാട്ടിലും അറിയിച്ചു; സംഭവിച്ചതു കാണ്മാന് പലരും പുറപ്പെട്ടു,

14. And the swine herders fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they came out for to see, what had happened;

15. യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു, ലെഗ്യോന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തന് വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചും സുബോധം പൂണ്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

15. And they came out to Jesus, and they saw him that was vexed with the fiend and had the legion sit, both clothed and in his right mind, and were afraid.

16. കണ്ടവര് ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തന്നു സംഭവിച്ചതും പന്നികളുടെ കാര്യവും അവരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

16. And they that saw it told them, how it had happened unto him that was possessed with the devil: and also of the swine.

17. അപ്പോള് അവര് അവനോടു തങ്ങളുടെ അതിര് വിട്ടുപോകുവാന് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

17. And they began to pray him, that he would depart from their coasts.

18. അവന് പടകു ഏറുമ്പോള് ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തനായിരുന്നവന് താനും കൂടെ പോരട്ടെ എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

18. And when he was come into the ship, he that had the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

19. യേശു അവനെ അനുവദിക്കാതെനിന്റെ വീട്ടില് നിനക്കുള്ളവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു, കര്ത്താവു നിനക്കു ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും നിന്നോടു കരുണകാണിച്ചതും പ്രസ്താവിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. (Howbeit) Jesus would not suffer him but said unto him: go home into thine own house and to thy friends, and shew them what (great) things the Lord hath done unto thee, and how he had compassion on(mercy upon) thee.

20. അവന് പോയി യേശു തനിക്കു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും ദെക്കപ്പൊലിനാട്ടില് ഘോഷിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുകയുമ ചെയ്തു.

20. And he departed, and began to publish in the ten cities, what (great) things Jesus had done unto him, and all men did marvel.

21. യേശു വീണ്ടും പടകില് കയറി ഇവരെ കടന്നു കടലരികെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് വലിയ പുരുഷാരം അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുകൂടി.

21. And when Jesus was come over(Iesus passed over) again in the(by) ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him, and he was nigh unto the sea.

22. പള്ളി പ്രമാണികളില് യായീറൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരുത്തന് വന്നു, അവനെ കണ്ടു കാല്ക്കല് വീണു

22. And behold, there came unto him one of the rulers of the Synagogue, whose name was Jairus: and when he saw him, he fell down at his feet,

23. എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുമകള് അത്യാസനത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവള് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ വന്നു അവളുടെമേല് കൈ വെക്കേണമേ എന്നു വളരെ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

23. and besought him greatly saying: my daughter lieth at point of death, I would thou wouldst come and lay thy hand on her, that she might be safe and live.

24. അവന് അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി, വലിയ പുരുഷാരവും പിന് ചെന്നു അവനെ തിക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

24. And he went with him, and much people followed him, and thronged him.

25. പന്ത്രണ്ടു സംവത്സരമായിട്ടു രക്തസ്രവമുള്ളവളായി

25. And there was a (certain) woman, which was diseased of an issue of blood twelve year,

26. പല വൈദ്യന്മാരാലും ഏറിയോന്നു സഹിച്ചു തനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ചെലവഴിച്ചിട്ടും ഒട്ടും ഭേദം വരാതെ ഏറ്റവും പരവശയായി തീര്ന്നിരുന്ന ഒരു സ്ത്രീ യേശുവിന്റെ വര്ത്തമാനം കേട്ടു

26. and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and felt none amendment at all:(was not helped) But waxed worse and worse.

27. അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എങ്കിലും തൊട്ടാല് ഞാന് രക്ഷപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പുരുഷാരത്തില്കൂടി പുറകില് വന്നു അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം തൊട്ടു.

27. When she had heard of Jesus: she came into the press behind him, and touched his garment.

28. ക്ഷണത്തില് അവളുടെ രക്തസ്രവം നിന്നു; ബാധ മാറി താന് സ്വസ്ഥയായി എന്നു അവള് ശരീരത്തില് അറിഞ്ഞു.

28. For she said:(thought:) If I may but touch his clothing, I shall be whole.

29. ഉടനെ യേശു തങ്കല്നിന്നു ശക്തി പുറപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു ഉള്ളില് അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തില് തിരിഞ്ഞുഎന്റെ വസ്ത്രം തൊട്ടതു ആര് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

29. And straight way her fountain of blood was dried up, and she felt in her body, that she was healed of the plague.

30. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടു പുരുഷാരം നിന്നെ തിരക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടും എന്നെ തൊട്ടതു ആര് എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30. And Jesus immediately felt in himself, the virtue that went out of him, and turned him round about in the press, and said: Who touched my clothes?

31. അവനോ അതു ചെയ്തവളെ കാണ്മാന് ചുറ്റും നോക്കി.

31. And his disciples said unto him: thou seest the people thrusting thee on every side, and yet sayest:(askest:) who did touch me?

32. സ്ത്രീ തനിക്കു സംഭവിച്ചതു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഭായപ്പെട്ടും വിറെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് വീണു വസ്തുത ഒക്കെയും അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

32. And he looked round about, for to see her that had done that thing.

33. അവന് അവളോടുമകളേ, നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോയി ബാധ ഒഴിഞ്ഞു സ്വസ്ഥയായിരിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. The woman feared and trembled, for she knew what was done within her. And she came and fell down before him and told him the truth of everything.

34. ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ പള്ളി പ്രമാണിയുടെ വീട്ടില് നിന്നു ആള് വന്നുനിന്റെ മകള് മരിച്ചുപോയി; ഗുരുവിനെ ഇനി അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34. And he said unto her: Daughter, thy faith hath saved(made) thee, (whole) go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

35. യേശു ആ വാക്കു കാര്യമാക്കാതെ പള്ളിപ്രമാണിയോടുഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ, വിശ്വസിക്ക മാത്രം ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house, certain which said: thy daughter is dead: why diseasest thou the Master any further?

36. പത്രൊസും യാക്കോബും യാക്കോബിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരും തന്നോടുകൂടെ ചെല്ലുവാന് സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.

36. As soon as Jesus heard that word spoken, he said unto the ruler of the Synagogue: Be not afraid, only believe.

37. പള്ളിപ്രമാണിയുടെ വീട്ടില് വന്നാറെ ആരവാരത്തെയും വളരെ കരഞ്ഞു വിലപിക്കുന്നവരെയും കണ്ടു;

37. And he suffered no man to follow him more than Peter, and James and John James brother.(the brother of James)

38. അകത്തു കടന്നുനിങ്ങളുടെ ആരവാരവും കരച്ചലും എന്തിന്നു? കുട്ടി മരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, ഉറങ്ങുന്നത്രേ എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവരോ അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു.

38. And he came unto the house of the ruler of the Synagogue, and saw the wondering(business) and them that wept and wailed greatly;

39. അവന് എല്ലാവരെയും പുറത്താക്കി കുട്ടിയുടെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും തന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു കുട്ടി കിടക്കുന്ന ഇടത്തുചെന്നു കുട്ടിയുടെ കൈകൂ പിടിച്ചു

39. And he went in and said unto them: Why make ye this ado and weep? The maiden is not dead, but sleepeth.

40. ബാലേ, എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക എന്നു നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്ന അര്ത്ഥത്തോടെ തലീഥാ ക്കുമി എന്നു അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. And they laughed him to scorn. Then he put them all out, and took the father and the mother of the maiden, and them that were with him, and entered in where the maiden lay;

41. ബാല ഉടനെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നടന്നു; അവള്ക്കു പന്ത്രണ്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവര് അത്യന്തം വിസ്മയിച്ചു

41. And took the maiden by the hand, and said unto her: Tabitha, cumi: which is by interpretation: maiden I say unto thee, arise.

42. ഇതു ആരും അറിയരുതു എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ഏറിയോന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അവള്ക്കു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കേണം എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു.

42. And straight the maiden arose, and went on her feet. For she was of the age of twelve year. And they were astonied at it out of measure.
