1. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരു ഉത്സവം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു യേശു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കുപോയി.

1. After these things, was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up unto Jerusalem.

2. യെരൂശലേമില് ആട്ടുവാതില്ക്കല് ബേഥെസ്ദാ എന്നു എബ്രായപേരുള്ള ഒരു കുളം ഉണ്ടു; അതിന്നു അഞ്ചു മണ്ഡപം ഉണ്ടു.

2. Now there is in Jerusalem, at the Sheep-gate, a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethzatha, having, five porches.

3. അവയില് വ്യാധിക്കാര്, കുരുടര്, മുടന്തര്, ക്ഷയരോഗികള് ഇങ്ങനെ വലിയോരു കൂട്ടം (വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ ഇളക്കം കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു) കിടന്നിരുന്നു.

3. In these, was lying a throng of them who were sick, blind, lame, withered.

4. (അതതു സമയത്തു ഒരു ദൂതന് കുളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങി വെള്ളം കലക്കും; വെള്ളം കലങ്ങിയ ശേഷം ആദ്യം ഇറങ്ങുന്നവന് ഏതു വ്യാധിപിടിച്ചവനായിരുന്നാലും അവന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും)

5. എന്നാല് മുപ്പത്തെട്ടു ആണ്ടു രോഗം പിടിച്ചു കിടന്നോരു മനുഷ്യന് അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. And there was a certain man there, who, for thirty-eight years, had continued in his sickness.

6. അവന് കിടക്കുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടു, ഇങ്ങനെ ഏറിയ കാലമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നറിഞ്ഞുനിനക്കു സൌഖ്യമാകുവാന് മനസ്സുണ്ടോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

6. Jesus, seeing, this one, lying, and taking note that now, a long time, had he continued, saith unto him Desirest thou to be made, well?

7. രോഗി അവനോടുയജമാനനേ, വെള്ളം കലങ്ങുമ്പോള് എന്നെ കുളത്തില് ആക്കുവാന് എനിക്കു ആരും ഇല്ല; ഞാന് തന്നേ ചെല്ലുമ്പോള് മറ്റൊരുത്തന് എനിക്കു മുമ്പായി ഇറങ്ങുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

7. The sick man answered him Sir! I have, no man, that, as soon as the water hath been troubled, might thrust me into the pool; but, while, I, am coming, another, before me, goeth down.

8. യേശു അവനോടുഎഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Jesus saith unto him Rise! take up thy couch, and be walking.

9. ഉടനെ ആ മനുഷ്യന് സൌഖ്യമായി കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടന്നു.

9. And, straightway, the man was made well and took up his couch, and began to walk. Now it was Sabbath, on that day.

10. എന്നാല് അന്നു ശബ്ബത്ത് ആയിരുന്നു. ആകയാല് യെഹൂദന്മാര് സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവനോടുഇന്നുശബ്ബത്ത് ആകുന്നു; കിടക്ക എടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. The Jews, therefore, were saying, unto him who had been cured It is, Sabbath; and it is not allowable for thee to take up thy couch:

11. അവന് അവരോടുഎന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയവന് കിടക്ക എടുത്ത നടക്ക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

11. who, however, answered them He that made me well, he, unto me, said Take up thy couch, and be walking.

12. അവര് അവനോടുകിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ മനുഷ്യന് ആര് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

12. They questioned him Who is the man that said unto thee, Take up thy couch , and be walking?

13. എന്നാല് അവിടെ പുരുഷാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയാല് യേശു മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് ആരെന്നു സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവന് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

13. But, the healed one, knew not, who, it was; for, Jesus, had turned aside, a multitude, being in the place.

14. അനന്തരം യേശു അവനെ ദൈവാലയത്തില്വെച്ചു കണ്ടു അവനോടുനോകൂ, നിനക്കു സൌഖ്യമായല്ലോ; അധികം തിന്മയായതു ഭവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ഇനി പാപം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. After these things, Jesus findeth him, in the temple, and said unto him See! thou hast become, well: No more, be committing sin, lest, some worse thing, do thee befall.

15. ആ മനുഷ്യന് പോയി തന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയതു യേശു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

15. The man went away, and told the Jews, that it was, Jesus, who had made him well.

16. യേശു ശബ്ബത്തില് അതു ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു.

16. And, on this account, were the Jews persecuting Jesus, because, these things, he had been doing, on Sabbath.

17. യേശു അവരോടുഎന്റെ പിതാവു ഇന്നുവരെയും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഞാനും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

17. But, he, answered them My Father, until even now, is working; and, I, am working.

18. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ശബ്ബത്തിനെ ലംഘിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല, ദൈവം സ്വന്തപിതാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്നെത്താന് ദൈവത്തോടു സമമാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടും യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാന് അധികമായി ശ്രമിച്ചു പോന്നു.

18. On this account, therefore, the rather, were the Jews seeking to slay him, because, not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but was calling God, his own Father, making, himself, equal, with, God.

19. ആകയാല് യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുപിതാവു ചെയ്തു കാണുന്നതു അല്ലാതെ പുത്രന്നു സ്വതേ ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴികയില്ല; അവന് ചെയ്യുന്നതു എല്ലാം പുത്രനും അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നു.

19. Jesus, therefore, answered, and went on to say unto them Verily, verily, I say unto you: The Son cannot be doing, of himself, a single thing, save anything he may see, the Father, doing; for, whatsoever, he, may be doing, these things, the Son also, in like manner, doeth.

20. പിതാവു പുത്രനെ സ്നേഹിക്കയും താന് ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുമാറു ഇവയില് വലിയ പ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന്നു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

20. For, the Father, dearly loveth the Son, and, all things, pointeth out to him, which, himself, is doing; and, greater works than these, will he point out to him, that, ye, may marvel.

21. പിതാവു മരിച്ചവരെ ഉണര്ത്തി ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പുത്രനും താന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവരെ ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

21. For, just as the Father waketh up the dead, and quickeneth them, in like manner, the Son also, whom he pleaseth, doth quicken.

22. എല്ലാവരും പിതാവിനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പുത്രനെയും ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പിതാവു ആരെയും ന്യായം വിധിക്കാതെ ന്യായവിധി എല്ലാം പുത്രന്നുകൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

22. For neither doth, the Father, judge anyone, but, all the judging, hath given unto the Son:

23. പുത്രനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കാത്തവന് അവനെ അയച്ച പിതാവിനെയും ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നില്ല.

23. That, all, may honour the Son, just as they honour the Father: he that doth not honour the Son, doth not, in fact, honour the Father who sent him.

24. ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുഎന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവന് ഉണ്ടു; അവന് ന്യായവിധിയില് ആകാതെ മരണത്തില് നിന്നു ജീവങ്കലേക്കു കടന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

24. Verily, verily, I say unto you: He that heareth, my word, and believeth in him that sent me, hath life age-abiding, and, into judgment, cometh not, but hath passed over, out of death into life.

25. ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുമരിച്ചവര് ദൈവപുത്രന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേള്ക്കയും കേള്ക്കുന്നവര് ജീവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നാഴികവരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോള് വന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. Verily, verily, I say unto you: There cometh an hour, and now is, when, the dead, shall hearken unto the voice of the Son of God, and, they who have hearkened, shall live.

26. പിതാവിന്നു തന്നില്തന്നേ ജീവനുള്ളതുപോലെ അവന് പുത്രന്നും തന്നില്തന്നേ ജീവനുള്ളവന് ആകുമാറു വരം നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

26. For, just as, the Father, hath life, in himself, in like manner, unto the Son also, hath he given, life, to have, in himself;

27. അവന് മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് ആകയാല് ന്യായവിധിനടത്തുവാന് അവന്നു അധികാരവും നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

27. And, authority, hath he given him, to be executing, judgment, because, Son of Man, is he!

28. ഇതിങ്കല് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടരുതു; കല്ലറകളില് ഉള്ളവര് എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു, നന്മ ചെയ്തവര് ജീവന്നായും തിന്മ ചെയ്തവര് ന്യായവിധിക്കായും പുനരുത്ഥാനം ചെയ്വാനുള്ള നാഴിക വരുന്നു.

28. Do not be marvelling at this: because there come an hour, in which, all they in the tombs, shall hearken unto his voice,

29. എനിക്കു സ്വതേ ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; ഞാന് കേള്ക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം അല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമത്രേ ചെയ്വാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ വിധി നീതിയുള്ളതു ആകുന്നു.

29. and shall come forth, they who, the good things, have done, unto a resurrection, of life; but, they who the corrupt things, have practised, unto a resurrection, of judgment.

30. ഞാന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞാല് എന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യമല്ല.

30. I, cannot be doing, of myself, a single thing, Just as I hear, I judge; and, my judging, is, just, because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

31. എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതു മറ്റൊരുത്തന് ആകുന്നു; അവന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്ന സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യം എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

31. If, I, bear witness, concerning myself, my witness, is not, true.

32. നിങ്ങള് യോഹാന്നാന്റെ അടുക്കല് ആളയച്ചു; അവന് സത്യത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

32. Another, it is, who beareth witness concerning me, and I know that, true, is the witness which he witnesseth concerning me.

33. എനിക്കോ മനുഷ്യന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യംകൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമില്ല; നിങ്ങള് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനത്രേ ഇതു പറയുന്നതു.

33. Ye, have sent forth unto John, and he hath borne witness to the truth:

34. അവന് ജ്വലിച്ചു പ്രകാശിക്കുന്ന വിളകൂ ആയിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് അല്പസമയത്തേക്കു അവന്റെ വെളിച്ചത്തില് ഉല്ലസിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചു.

34. I, however, not from man, my witness, receive; but, these things, I say, that, ye, may be saved:

35. എനിക്കോ യോഹന്നാന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിലും വലിയ സാക്ഷ്യം ഉണ്ടു; പിതാവു എനിക്കു അനുഷ്ഠിപ്പാന് തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികള്, ഞാന് ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികള് തന്നേ, പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചു എന്നു എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു.

35. He, was the burning and shining lamp, and, ye, were willing to exult, for an hour, in his light.

36. എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവുതാനും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഒരുനാളും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല, അവന്റെ രൂപം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല;

36. But, I, have, as my witness, something greater than John's; for, the works which the Father hath given me, that I should complete them, the works themselves which I am doing, bear witness concerning me, that, the Father, hath sent me.

37. അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളില് വസിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല അവന് അയച്ചവനെ നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

37. And so, the Father who sent me, he, hath borne witness concerning me; Neither, a sound of him, at any time, have ye heard, nor, a form of him, have ye seen;

38. നിങ്ങള് തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ ശോധനചെയ്യുന്നു; അവയില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു നിത്യജീവന് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് നിരൂപിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; അവ എനിക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

38. And, his word, ye have not, within you abiding because, as touching him whom, he, sent, in him, ye, believe not.

39. എങ്കിലും ജീവന് പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.

39. Ye search the Scriptures, because, ye, think, by them, to have, life age-abiding; and, those Scriptures , are they which bear witness concerning me:

40. ഞാന് മനുഷ്യരോടു ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങുന്നില്ല.

40. And yet ye choose not to come unto me, that, life, ye may have.

41. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉള്ളില് ദൈവസ്നേഹം ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാന് അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

41. Glory from men, am I not receiving;

42. ഞാന് എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ നിങ്ങള് കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നില്ല; മറ്റൊരുത്തന് സ്വന്തനാമത്തില് വന്നാല് അവനെ നിങ്ങള് കൈക്കൊള്ളും.

42. But I have taken knowledge of you, that, the love of God, ye have not, in yourselves:

43. തമ്മില് തമ്മില് ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടു ഏകദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കല് നിന്നുള്ള ബഹുമാനം അന്വേഷിക്കാത്ത നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിപ്പാന് കഴിയും?

43. I, have come, in the name of my Father, and ye are not receiving me: If, another, shall come in his own name, him, ye will receive!

44. ഞാന് പിതാവിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തും എന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തോന്നരുതു. നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നവന് ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള് പ്രത്യാശ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മോശെ തന്നേ.

44. How can, ye, believe, Glory from one another, receiving; and, the glory which is from the only God, are not seeking?

45. നിങ്ങള് മോശെയെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു എങ്കില് എന്നെയും വിശ്വസിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; അവന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

45. Do not think that, I, will accuse you unto the Father: There, is, who accuseth you, even, Moses, on whom, ye, have set your hope.
