1. ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ലേവിഗോത്രത്തിന്നും യിസ്രായേലിനോടുകൂടെ ഔഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങളും അവന്റെ അവകാശവുംകൊണ്ടു അവര് ഉപജീവനം കഴിക്കേണം.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 9:13

1. The [cohanim], who are [L'vi'im], and indeed the whole tribe of Levi, is not to have a share or an inheritance with Isra'el. Instead, their support will come from the food offered by fire to ADONAI and from whatever else becomes his.

2. ആകയാല് അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് അവര്ക്കും അവകാശം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; യഹോവ അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവന് തന്നേ അവരുടെ അവകാശം.

2. They will have no inheritance with their brothers, because ADONAI is their inheritance- as he has said to them.

3. ജനത്തില്നിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ചെല്ലേണ്ടുന്ന അവകാശം എന്തെന്നാല്മാടിനെയോ ആടിനെയോ യാഗം കഴിക്കുന്നവന് കൈക്കുറകും കവിള് രണ്ടും ആമാശയവും കൊടുക്കേണം.

3. 'The [cohanim] will have the right to receive from the people, from those offering a sacrifice, whether ox or sheep, the shoulder, the jowls and the stomach.

4. ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയുടെ ആദ്യഫലവും നിന്റെ ആടുകളെ കത്രിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യരോമവും നീ അവന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം.

4. You will also give him the firstfruits of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep.

5. യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാന് എപ്പോഴും നില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളില്നിന്നു അവനെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും അല്ലോ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

5. For ADONAI your God has chosen him from all your tribes to stand and serve in the name of ADONAI, him and his sons forever.

6. ഏതു യിസ്രായേല്യപട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും പരദേശിയായി പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന ഒരു ലേവ്യന് അവിടെനിന്നു യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വന്നാല്--അവന്നു മനസ്സുപോലെ വരാം--

6. 'If a [Levi] from one of your towns anywhere in Isra'el where he is living comes, highly motivated, to the place which ADONAI will choose,

7. അവിടെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് നിലക്കുന്ന ലേവ്യരായ തന്റെ സകല സഹോദരന്മാരെയുംപോലെ അവന്നും തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യാം.

7. then he will serve there in the name of ADONAI his God, just like his kinsmen the [L'vi'im] who stand and serve in the presence of [ADONAI.]

8. അവന്റെ പിതൃസ്വത്തു വിറ്റുകിട്ടിയ മുതലിന്നു പുറമെ അവരുടെ ഉപജീവനം സമാംശമായിരിക്കേണം.

8. Such a [Levi] will receive the same share as they do, in addition to what he may receive from selling his inherited ancestral property.

9. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു എത്തിയശേഷം അവിടത്തെ ജാതികളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് നീ പഠിക്കരുതു.

9. 'When you enter the land ADONAI your God is giving you, you are not to learn how to follow the abominable practices of those nations.

10. തന്റെ മകനെയോ മകളെയോ അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നവന് , പ്രശ്നക്കാരന് , മുഹൂര്ത്തക്കാരന് , ആഭിചാരകന് , ക്ഷുദ്രക്കാരന് ,

10. There must not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through fire, a diviner, a soothsayer, an enchanter, a sorcerer,

11. മന്ത്രവാദി, വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന് , ലക്ഷണം പറയുന്നവന് , അജ്ഞനക്കാരന് എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് കാണരുതു.

11. a spell-caster, a consulter of ghosts or spirits, or a necromancer.

12. ഈ കാര്യങ്ങള് ചെയ്യുന്നവനെല്ലാം യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് നിമിത്തം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നു.

12. For whoever does these things is detestable to ADONAI, and because of these abominations ADONAI your God is driving them out ahead of you.

13. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരിക്കേണം.

13. You must be wholehearted with ADONAI your God.

14. നീ നീക്കിക്കളവാനിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതികള് മുഹൂര്ത്തക്കാരുടെയും പ്രശ്നക്കാരുടെയും വാക്കുകേട്ടു നടന്നു; നീയോ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്വാന് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

14. For these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to soothsayers and diviners; but you, ADONAI your God does not allow you to do this.

15. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു എന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചുതരും; അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കേണം.

15. 'ADONAI will raise up for you a prophet like me from among yourselves, from your own kinsmen. You are to pay attention to him,

16. ഞാന് മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇനി എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ദം കേള്പ്പാനും ഈ മഹത്തായ തീ കാണ്മാനും എനിക്കു ഇടവരരുതേ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഹോരേബില്വെച്ചു മഹായോഗം കൂടിയ നാളില് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു നീ അപേക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ.

16. just as when you were assembled at Horev and requested ADONAI your God, 'Don't let me hear the voice of ADONAI my God any more, or let me see this great fire ever again; if I do, I will die!'

17. അന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്അവര് പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി.

17. On that occasion ADONAI said to me, 'They are right in what they are saying.

18. നിന്നെപ്പോലെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ആക്കും; ഞാന് അവനോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവന് അവരോടു പറയും.

18. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their kinsmen. I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I order him.

19. അവന് എന്റെ നാമത്തില് പറയുന്ന എന്റെ വചനങ്ങള് യാതൊരുത്തെനങ്കിലും കേള്ക്കാതിരുന്നാല് അവനോടു ഞാന് ചോദിക്കും.

19. Whoever doesn't listen to my words, which he will speak in my name, will have to account for himself to me.

20. എന്നാല് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ഞാന് അവനോടു കല്പിക്കാത്ത വചനം എന്റെ നാമത്തില് അഹങ്കാരത്തോടെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കയോ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളുടെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിക്കയോ ചെയ്താല് ആ പ്രവാചകന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

20. ''But if a prophet presumptuously speaks a word in my name which I didn't order him to say, or if he speaks in the name of other gods, then that prophet must die.'

21. അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യാത്ത വചനം എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് എങ്ങനെ അറിയും എന്നു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറഞ്ഞാല്

21. You may be wondering, 'How are we to know if a word has not been spoken by ADONAI?'

22. ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം സംഭവിക്കയും ഒത്തുവരികയും ചെയ്യാഞ്ഞാല് അതു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതല്ല; പ്രവാചകന് അതു സ്വയംകൃതമായി സംസാരിച്ചതത്രേ; അവനെ പേടിക്കരുതു.

22. When a prophet speaks in the name of ADONAI, and the prediction does not come true- that is, the word is not fulfilled- then ADONAI did not speak that word. The prophet who said it spoke presumptuously; you have nothing to fear from him.
