1. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തിലെ ജാതികളെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഛേദിച്ചുകളകയും നീ അവരുടെ ദേശം അടക്കി അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും വീടുകളിലും പാര്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്

1. When the LORD thy God has cut off the Gentiles whose land the LORD thy God gives thee, and thou hast inherited them and dost dwell in their cities and in their houses,

2. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തില് മൂന്നു പട്ടണം വേറുതിരിക്കേണം.

2. thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God gives thee to inherit.

3. ആരെങ്കിലും കുലചെയ്തുപോയാല് അവിടേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഒരു വഴി ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശം മൂന്നായി വിഭാഗിക്കയും വേണം;

3. Thou shalt prepare thee a way and divide the borders of thy land, which the LORD thy God gives thee to inherit, into three parts, so that every murderer may flee there.

4. കുല ചെയ്തിട്ടു അവിടേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോയി ജീവനോടിരിക്കേണ്ടുന്നവന്റെ സംഗതി എന്തെന്നാല്ഒരുത്തന് പൂര്വ്വദ്വേഷംകൂടാതെ അബദ്ധവശാല് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ കൊന്നുപോയെങ്കില്, എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല്

4. And this [is] the case of the murderer who is to flee there, that he may live: whoever kills his neighbour by mistake, whom he hated not in time past;

5. മരംവെട്ടുവാന് ഒരുത്തന് കൂട്ടുകാരനോടുകൂടെ കാട്ടില് പോയി മരംവെട്ടുവാന് കോടാലി ഔങ്ങുമ്പോള് കോടാലി ഊരി തെറിച്ചു കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു കൊണ്ടിട്ടു അവന് മരിച്ചുപോയാല്,

5. and he who went into the woods with his neighbour to cut firewood and his hand fetched a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree and the head slipped from the handle and lighted upon his neighbour so that he died, he shall flee unto one of those cities and live,

6. ഇങ്ങനെ കുല ചെയ്തവനെ രക്തപ്രതികാരകന് മനസ്സിന്റെ ഉഷ്ണത്തോടെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു വഴിയുടെ ദൂരംനിമിത്തം അവനെ പിടിച്ചു അവന്റെ ജീവനെ നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് അവന് ആ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഒന്നില് ഔടിപ്പോയി ജീവനോടിരിക്കേണം; അവന്നു അവനോടു പൂര്വ്വദ്വേഷമില്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു മരണശിക്ഷെക്കു ഹേതുവില്ല.

6. lest the avenger of the blood pursue the murderer, while his heart is hot and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him, whereas he [was] not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു മൂന്നു പട്ടണം വേറുതിരിക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നു.

7. Therefore, I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.

8. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എല്ലാനാളും അവന്റെ വഴികളില് നടക്കയും ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്ന ഈ സകലകല്പനകളും ജാഗ്രതയോടെ പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ

8. And if the LORD thy God enlarges thy borders, as he has sworn unto thy fathers, and gives thee all the land which he was to give unto thy fathers,

9. നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യംചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്റെ അതിര് വിശാലമാക്കി നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത ദേശം ഒക്കെയും നിനക്കു തന്നാല് ഈ മൂന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങള് കൂടാതെ വേറെയും മൂന്നു വേറുതിരിക്കേണം.

9. when thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day: to love the LORD thy God, and to walk all the days in his ways, then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, besides these three,

10. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചിന്നീട്ടു നിന്റെമേല് രക്തപാതകം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

10. that innocent blood not be shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God gives thee [for] an inheritance, and [the] blood shall [not] be upon thee.

11. എന്നാല് ഒരുത്തന് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു തരംനോക്കി അവനോടു കയര്ത്തു അവനെ അടിച്ചുകൊന്നിട്ടു ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഒന്നില് ഔടിപ്പോയാല്,

11. But when any man hates his neighbour and lies in wait for him and rises up against him and smites him mortally that he dies and flees into one of these cities,

12. അവന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാര് ആളയച്ചു അവനെ അവിടെനിന്നു വരുത്തി അവനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു രക്തപ്രതികാരകന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കേണം.

12. then the elders of his city shall send and take him from there and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, and he shall die.

13. നിനക്കു അവനോടു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; നിനക്കു നന്മ വരുവാനായി കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചൊരിഞ്ഞ പാതകം യിസ്രായേലില്നിന്നു നീക്കക്കളയേണം.

13. Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away [the guilt of] innocent blood from Israel that it may go well with thee.

14. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു നീ കൈവശമാക്കുവാനിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ അവകാശത്തില് പൂര്വ്വന്മാര് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ അതിര് നീക്കരുതു.

14. Thou shalt not reduce thy neighbour's border, which those of old time have marked in thine inheritance, which thou shalt possess in the land that the LORD thy God gives thee to inherit.

15. മനുഷ്യന് ചെയ്യുന്ന യാതൊരു അകൃത്യത്തിന്നോ പാപത്തിന്നോ അവന്റെ നേരെ ഏകസാക്ഷി നില്ക്കരുതു; രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴിമേല് കാര്യം ഉറപ്പാക്കേണം.

15. One witness shall not be valid against a man for any iniquity or for any sin, in any sin which he should commit. At the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

16. ഒരുത്തന്റെ നേരെ അകൃത്യം സാക്ഷീകരിപ്പാന് ഒരു കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി അവന്നു വിരോധമായി എഴുന്നേറ്റാല്

16. When a false witness rises up against any man to testify rebellion against him,

17. തമ്മില് വ്യവഹാരമുള്ള രണ്ടുപേരും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് അന്നുള്ള പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നില്ക്കേണം.

17. then both the men, between whom the controversy [is], shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, who shall be in those days;

18. ന്യായാധിപന്മാര് നല്ലവണ്ണം വിസ്താരം കഴിക്കേണം; സാക്ഷി കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി എന്നും സഹോദരന്റെ നേരെ കള്ളസ്സാകഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു എന്നും കണ്ടാല്

18. and the judges shall make diligent inquisition; and, behold, [if] the witness [is] a false witness [and] has testified falsely against his brother,

19. അവന് സഹോദരന്നു വരുത്തുവാന് നിരൂപിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് അവനോടു ചെയ്യേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 5:13

19. then shall ye do unto him as he had thought to have done unto his brother; so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

20. ഇനി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അതുപോലെയുള്ള ദോഷം നടക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശേഷമുള്ളവര് കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെടേണം. നിനക്കു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; ജീവന്നു പകരം ജീവന് , കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം കണ്ണു, പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലു, കൈകൂ പകരം കൈ, കാലിന്നു പകരം കാല്.

20. And those who remain shall hear and fear and shall never again commit any such evil among you.
