1. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തിലെ ജാതികളെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഛേദിച്ചുകളകയും നീ അവരുടെ ദേശം അടക്കി അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും വീടുകളിലും പാര്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്

1. When the Lord thy God shall roote out the nations, whose lande the Lord thy God giueth thee, and thou shalt possesse them, and dwell in their cities, and in their houses,

2. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തില് മൂന്നു പട്ടണം വേറുതിരിക്കേണം.

2. Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the middes of thy lande which the Lord thy God giueth thee to possesse it.

3. ആരെങ്കിലും കുലചെയ്തുപോയാല് അവിടേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഒരു വഴി ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശം മൂന്നായി വിഭാഗിക്കയും വേണം;

3. Thou shalt prepare thee the way, and deuide the coastes of the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee to inherite, into three parts, that euery manslayer may flee thither.

4. കുല ചെയ്തിട്ടു അവിടേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോയി ജീവനോടിരിക്കേണ്ടുന്നവന്റെ സംഗതി എന്തെന്നാല്ഒരുത്തന് പൂര്വ്വദ്വേഷംകൂടാതെ അബദ്ധവശാല് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ കൊന്നുപോയെങ്കില്, എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല്

4. This also is ye cause wherfore the manslayer shall flee thither, and liue: who so killeth his neighbor ignorantly, and hated him not in time passed:

5. മരംവെട്ടുവാന് ഒരുത്തന് കൂട്ടുകാരനോടുകൂടെ കാട്ടില് പോയി മരംവെട്ടുവാന് കോടാലി ഔങ്ങുമ്പോള് കോടാലി ഊരി തെറിച്ചു കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു കൊണ്ടിട്ടു അവന് മരിച്ചുപോയാല്,

5. As hee that goeth vnto the wood with his neighbor to hew wood, and his hand striketh with the axe to cut downe the tree, if the head slip from the helue, and hit his neighbour that he dieth, the same shall flee vnto one of the cities, and liue,

6. ഇങ്ങനെ കുല ചെയ്തവനെ രക്തപ്രതികാരകന് മനസ്സിന്റെ ഉഷ്ണത്തോടെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു വഴിയുടെ ദൂരംനിമിത്തം അവനെ പിടിച്ചു അവന്റെ ജീവനെ നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് അവന് ആ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഒന്നില് ഔടിപ്പോയി ജീവനോടിരിക്കേണം; അവന്നു അവനോടു പൂര്വ്വദ്വേഷമില്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു മരണശിക്ഷെക്കു ഹേതുവില്ല.

6. Least the auenger of the blood follow after the manslayer, while his heart is chafed, and ouertake him, because the way is long, and slaie him, although he be not worthy of death, because he hated him not in time passed.

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു മൂന്നു പട്ടണം വേറുതിരിക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നു.

7. Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt appoint out three cities for thee.

8. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എല്ലാനാളും അവന്റെ വഴികളില് നടക്കയും ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്ന ഈ സകലകല്പനകളും ജാഗ്രതയോടെ പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ

8. And when the Lord thy God enlargeth thy coastes (as he hath sworne vnto thy fathers) and giueth thee all the lande which he promised to giue vnto thy fathers,

9. നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യംചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്റെ അതിര് വിശാലമാക്കി നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത ദേശം ഒക്കെയും നിനക്കു തന്നാല് ഈ മൂന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങള് കൂടാതെ വേറെയും മൂന്നു വേറുതിരിക്കേണം.

9. (If thou keepe all these commandements to doe them, which I commaund thee this day: to wit, that thou loue the Lord thy God, and walke in his waies for euer) then shalt thou adde three cities moe for thee besides those three,

10. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചിന്നീട്ടു നിന്റെമേല് രക്തപാതകം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

10. That innocent bloude be not shed within thy land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee to inherite, lest bloud be vpon thee.

11. എന്നാല് ഒരുത്തന് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു തരംനോക്കി അവനോടു കയര്ത്തു അവനെ അടിച്ചുകൊന്നിട്ടു ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഒന്നില് ഔടിപ്പോയാല്,

11. But if a man hate his neighbour, and lay waite for him, and rise against him, and smite any man that he die, and flee vnto any of these cities,

12. അവന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാര് ആളയച്ചു അവനെ അവിടെനിന്നു വരുത്തി അവനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു രക്തപ്രതികാരകന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കേണം.

12. Then the Elders of his citie shall send and set him thence, and deliuer him into the hands of the auenger of the blood, that he may die.

13. നിനക്കു അവനോടു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; നിനക്കു നന്മ വരുവാനായി കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചൊരിഞ്ഞ പാതകം യിസ്രായേലില്നിന്നു നീക്കക്കളയേണം.

13. Thine eye shall not spare him, but thou shalt put away the crie of innocent blood from Israel, that it may goe well with thee.

14. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു നീ കൈവശമാക്കുവാനിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ അവകാശത്തില് പൂര്വ്വന്മാര് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ അതിര് നീക്കരുതു.

14. Thou shalt not remooue thy neighbours marke, which they of olde time haue set in thine inheritance, that thou shalt inherite in the lande, which ye Lord thy God giueth thee to possesse it.

15. മനുഷ്യന് ചെയ്യുന്ന യാതൊരു അകൃത്യത്തിന്നോ പാപത്തിന്നോ അവന്റെ നേരെ ഏകസാക്ഷി നില്ക്കരുതു; രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴിമേല് കാര്യം ഉറപ്പാക്കേണം.

15. One witnes shall not rise against a man for any trespasse, or for any sinne, or for any fault that hee offendeth in, but at the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses shall the matter be stablished.

16. ഒരുത്തന്റെ നേരെ അകൃത്യം സാക്ഷീകരിപ്പാന് ഒരു കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി അവന്നു വിരോധമായി എഴുന്നേറ്റാല്

16. If a false witnesse rise vp against a man to accuse him of trespasse,

17. തമ്മില് വ്യവഹാരമുള്ള രണ്ടുപേരും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് അന്നുള്ള പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നില്ക്കേണം.

17. Then both the men which striue together, shall stand before ye Lord, euen before the Priests and the Iudges, which shall be in those daies,

18. ന്യായാധിപന്മാര് നല്ലവണ്ണം വിസ്താരം കഴിക്കേണം; സാക്ഷി കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി എന്നും സഹോദരന്റെ നേരെ കള്ളസ്സാകഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു എന്നും കണ്ടാല്

18. And the Iudges shall make diligent inquisition: and if the witnesse be found false, and hath giuen false witnes against his brother,

19. അവന് സഹോദരന്നു വരുത്തുവാന് നിരൂപിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് അവനോടു ചെയ്യേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 5:13

19. Then shall yee doe vnto him as hee had thought to doe vnto his brother: so thou shalt take euil away forth of the middes of thee.

20. ഇനി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അതുപോലെയുള്ള ദോഷം നടക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശേഷമുള്ളവര് കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെടേണം. നിനക്കു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; ജീവന്നു പകരം ജീവന് , കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം കണ്ണു, പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലു, കൈകൂ പകരം കൈ, കാലിന്നു പകരം കാല്.

20. And the rest shall heare this, and feare, and shall henceforth commit no more any such wickednes among you.
