1. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തിലെ ജാതികളെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഛേദിച്ചുകളകയും നീ അവരുടെ ദേശം അടക്കി അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും വീടുകളിലും പാര്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്

1. 'When Jehovah thy God doth cut off the nations, whose land Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, and thou hast succeeded them, and dwelt in their cities, and in their houses,

2. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തില് മൂന്നു പട്ടണം വേറുതിരിക്കേണം.

2. three cities thou dost separate for thee in the midst of thy land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee to possess it.

3. ആരെങ്കിലും കുലചെയ്തുപോയാല് അവിടേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഒരു വഴി ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശം മൂന്നായി വിഭാഗിക്കയും വേണം;

3. Thou dost prepare for thee the way, and hast divided into three parts the border of thy land which Jehovah thy God doth cause thee to inherit, and it hath been for the fleeing thither of every man-slayer.

4. കുല ചെയ്തിട്ടു അവിടേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോയി ജീവനോടിരിക്കേണ്ടുന്നവന്റെ സംഗതി എന്തെന്നാല്ഒരുത്തന് പൂര്വ്വദ്വേഷംകൂടാതെ അബദ്ധവശാല് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ കൊന്നുപോയെങ്കില്, എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല്

4. 'And this [is] the matter of the man-slayer who fleeth thither, and hath lived: He who smiteth his neighbour unknowingly, and is not hating him heretofore,

5. മരംവെട്ടുവാന് ഒരുത്തന് കൂട്ടുകാരനോടുകൂടെ കാട്ടില് പോയി മരംവെട്ടുവാന് കോടാലി ഔങ്ങുമ്പോള് കോടാലി ഊരി തെറിച്ചു കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു കൊണ്ടിട്ടു അവന് മരിച്ചുപോയാല്,

5. even he who cometh in with his neighbour into a forest to hew wood, and his hand hath driven with an axe to cut the tree, and the iron hath slipped from the wood, and hath met his neighbour, and he hath died -- he doth flee unto one of these cities, and hath lived,

6. ഇങ്ങനെ കുല ചെയ്തവനെ രക്തപ്രതികാരകന് മനസ്സിന്റെ ഉഷ്ണത്തോടെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു വഴിയുടെ ദൂരംനിമിത്തം അവനെ പിടിച്ചു അവന്റെ ജീവനെ നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് അവന് ആ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഒന്നില് ഔടിപ്പോയി ജീവനോടിരിക്കേണം; അവന്നു അവനോടു പൂര്വ്വദ്വേഷമില്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു മരണശിക്ഷെക്കു ഹേതുവില്ല.

6. lest the redeemer of blood pursue after the man-slayer when his heart is hot, and hath overtaken him (because the way is great), and hath smitten him -- the life, and he hath no sentence of death, for he is not hating him heretofore;

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു മൂന്നു പട്ടണം വേറുതിരിക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നു.

7. therefore I am commanding thee, saying, Three cities thou dost separate to thee.

8. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എല്ലാനാളും അവന്റെ വഴികളില് നടക്കയും ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്ന ഈ സകലകല്പനകളും ജാഗ്രതയോടെ പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ

8. 'And if Jehovah thy God doth enlarge thy border, as He hath sworn to thy fathers, and hath given to thee all the land which He hath spoken to give to thy fathers --

9. നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യംചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്റെ അതിര് വിശാലമാക്കി നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത ദേശം ഒക്കെയും നിനക്കു തന്നാല് ഈ മൂന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങള് കൂടാതെ വേറെയും മൂന്നു വേറുതിരിക്കേണം.

9. when thou keepest all this command to do it, which I am commanding thee to-day, to love Jehovah thy God, and to walk in His ways all the days -- then thou hast added to thee yet three cities to these three;

10. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചിന്നീട്ടു നിന്റെമേല് രക്തപാതകം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

10. and innocent blood is not shed in the midst of thy land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee -- an inheritance, and there hath been upon thee blood.

11. എന്നാല് ഒരുത്തന് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു തരംനോക്കി അവനോടു കയര്ത്തു അവനെ അടിച്ചുകൊന്നിട്ടു ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഒന്നില് ഔടിപ്പോയാല്,

11. 'And when a man is hating his neighbour, and hath lain in wait for him, and risen against him, and smitten him -- the life, and he hath died, and he hath fled unto one of these cities,

12. അവന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാര് ആളയച്ചു അവനെ അവിടെനിന്നു വരുത്തി അവനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു രക്തപ്രതികാരകന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കേണം.

12. then the elders of his city have sent and taken him from thence, and given him into the hand of the redeemer of blood, and he hath died;

13. നിനക്കു അവനോടു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; നിനക്കു നന്മ വരുവാനായി കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചൊരിഞ്ഞ പാതകം യിസ്രായേലില്നിന്നു നീക്കക്കളയേണം.

13. thine eye hath no pity on him, and thou hast put away the innocent blood from Israel, and it is well with thee.

14. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു നീ കൈവശമാക്കുവാനിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ അവകാശത്തില് പൂര്വ്വന്മാര് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ അതിര് നീക്കരുതു.

14. 'Thou dost not remove a border of thy neighbour, which they of former times have made, in thine inheritance, which thou dost inherit in the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee to possess it.

15. മനുഷ്യന് ചെയ്യുന്ന യാതൊരു അകൃത്യത്തിന്നോ പാപത്തിന്നോ അവന്റെ നേരെ ഏകസാക്ഷി നില്ക്കരുതു; രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴിമേല് കാര്യം ഉറപ്പാക്കേണം.

15. 'One witness doth not rise against a man for any iniquity, and for any sin, in any sin which he sinneth; by the mouth of two witnesses, or by the mouth of three witnesses, is a thing established.

16. ഒരുത്തന്റെ നേരെ അകൃത്യം സാക്ഷീകരിപ്പാന് ഒരു കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി അവന്നു വിരോധമായി എഴുന്നേറ്റാല്

16. 'When a violent witness doth rise against a man, to testify against him apostasy,

17. തമ്മില് വ്യവഹാരമുള്ള രണ്ടുപേരും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് അന്നുള്ള പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നില്ക്കേണം.

17. then have both the men who have the strife stood before Jehovah, before the priests and the judges who are in those days,

18. ന്യായാധിപന്മാര് നല്ലവണ്ണം വിസ്താരം കഴിക്കേണം; സാക്ഷി കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി എന്നും സഹോദരന്റെ നേരെ കള്ളസ്സാകഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു എന്നും കണ്ടാല്

18. and the judges have searched diligently, and lo, the witness [is] a false witness, a falsehood he hath testified against his brother:

19. അവന് സഹോദരന്നു വരുത്തുവാന് നിരൂപിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് അവനോടു ചെയ്യേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

19. 'Then ye have done to him as he devised to do to his brother, and thou hast put away the evil thing out of thy midst,

20. ഇനി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അതുപോലെയുള്ള ദോഷം നടക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശേഷമുള്ളവര് കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെടേണം. നിനക്കു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; ജീവന്നു പകരം ജീവന് , കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം കണ്ണു, പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലു, കൈകൂ പകരം കൈ, കാലിന്നു പകരം കാല്.

20. and those who are left do hear and fear, and add not to do any more according to this evil thing in thy midst;
