1. നീ കൈവശമാക്കുവാന് ചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിന്നെ കടത്തുകയും നിന്നെക്കാള് പെരുപ്പവും ബലവുമുള്ള ജാതികളായ ഹിത്യര്, ഗിര്ഗ്ഗശ്യര്, അമോര്യ്യര്, കനാന്യര്, പെരിസ്യര്, ഹിവ്യര്, യെബൂസ്യര് എന്നീ ഏഴു മഹാജാതികളെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളകയും

1. 'When Jehovah thy God doth bring thee in unto the land whither thou art going in to possess it, and He hath cast out many nations from thy presence, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations more numerous and mighty than thou,

2. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കയും നീ അവരെ തോല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് അവരെ നിര്മ്മൂലമാക്കിക്കളയേണം; അവരോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്കയോ കൃപ കാണിക്കയോ അരുതു.

2. and Jehovah thy God hath given them before thee, and thou hast smitten them -- thou dost utterly devote them -- thou dost not make with them a covenant, nor dost thou favour them.

3. അവരുമായി വിവാഹസംബന്ധം ചെയ്യരുതു; നിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കയോ അവരുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും എടുക്കയോ ചെയ്യരുതു.

3. 'And thou dost not join in marriage with them; thy daughter thou dost not give to his son, and his daughter thou dost not take to thy son,

4. അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവര് നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ എന്നോടു അകറ്റിക്കളയും; യഹോവയുടെ കോപം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിരോധമായി ജ്വലിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ വേഗത്തില് നശിപ്പിക്കും.

4. for he doth turn aside thy son from after Me, and they have served other gods, and the anger of Jehovah hath burned against you, and hath destroyed thee hastily.

5. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് അവരോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യേണം; അവരുടെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങള് ഇടിക്കേണം; അവരുടെ ബിംബങ്ങളെ തകര്ക്കേണം; അവരുടെ അശേരപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളെ വെട്ടിക്കളയേണം; അവരുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ തീയില് ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം.

5. 'But thus thou dost to them: their altars ye break down, and their standing pillars ye shiver, and their shrines ye cut down, and their graven images ye burn with fire;

6. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു നീ ഒരു വിശുദ്ധജനം ആകുന്നു; ഭൂതലത്തിലുള്ള സകലജാതികളിലുംവെച്ചു നിന്നെ തനിക്കു സ്വന്തജനമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. for a holy people [art] thou to Jehovah thy God; on thee hath Jehovah thy God fixed, to be to Him for a peculiar people, out of all the peoples who [are] on the face of the ground.

7. നിങ്ങള് സംഖ്യയില് സകലജാതികളെക്കാളും പെരുപ്പമുള്ളവരാകകൊണ്ടല്ല യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതു; നിങ്ങള് സകലജാതികളെക്കാളും കുറഞ്ഞവരല്ലോ ആയിരുന്നതു.

7. 'Not because of your being more numerous than any of the peoples hath Jehovah delighted in you, and fixeth on you, for ye [are] the least of all the peoples,

8. യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു താന് ചെയ്ത സത്യം പാലിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും അത്രേ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ ബലമുള്ള കയ്യാല് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീമിലെ രാജാവായ ഫറവോന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുത്തതു.

8. but because of Jehovah's loving you, and because of His keeping the oath which He hath sworn to your fathers, hath Jehovah brought you out by a strong hand, and doth ransom you from a house of servants, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

9. ആകയാല് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്നേ ദൈവം; അവന് തന്നേ സത്യദൈവം എന്നു നീ അറിയേണംഅവന് തന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു തന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും ആയിരം തലമുറവരെ നിയമവും ദയയും പാലിക്കുന്നു.

9. 'And thou hast known that Jehovah thy God He [is] God, the faithful God, keeping the covenant, and the kindness, to those loving Him, and to those keeping His commands -- to a thousand generations,

10. തന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് അവര്ക്കും നേരിട്ടു പകരം കൊടുക്കുന്നു; തന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവന്നു അവന് താമസിയാതെ നേരിട്ടു പകരം കൊടുക്കും.

10. and repaying to those hating Him, unto their face, to destroy them; He delayeth not to him who is hating Him -- unto his face, He repayeth to him --

11. ആകയാല് ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും നീ പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടക്കേണം.

11. and thou hast kept the command, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I am commanding thee to-day to do them.

12. നിങ്ങള് ഈ വിധികള് കേട്ടു പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടന്നാല് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യംചെയ്ത നിയമവും ദയയും നിനക്കായിട്ടു പാലിക്കും.

12. 'And it hath been, because ye hear these judgments, and have kept, and done them, that Jehovah thy God hath kept to thee the covenant and the kindness which He hath sworn to thy fathers,

13. അവന് നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കും; അവന് നിനക്കു തരുമെന്നു നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തു നിന്റെ ഗര്ഭഫലവും നിന്റെ കൃഷിഫലവും ധാന്യവും വീഞ്ഞും എണ്ണയും നിന്റെ കന്നുകാലികളുടെ പേറും ആടുകളുടെ പിറപ്പും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

13. and hath loved thee, and blessed thee, and multiplied thee, and hath blessed the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy ground, thy corn, and thy new wine, and thine oil, the increase of thine oxen, and the wealth of thy flock, on the ground which He hath sworn to thy fathers to give to thee.

14. നീ സകലജാതികളെക്കാളും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും; വന്ധ്യനും വന്ധ്യയും നിങ്ങളിലാകട്ടെ നിന്റെ നാല്ക്കാലികളിലാകട്ടെ ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല.

14. 'Blessed art thou above all the peoples, there is not in thee a barren man or a barren woman -- nor among your cattle;

15. യഹോവ സകലരോഗവും നിങ്കല്നിന്നു അകറ്റിക്കളയും; നീ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ ദുര്വ്വ്യാധികളില് ഒന്നും അവന് നിന്റെ മേല് വരുത്താതെ നിന്നെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവര്ക്കും അവയെ കൊടുക്കും.

15. and Jehovah hath turned aside from thee every sickness, and none of the evil diseases of Egypt (which thou hast known) doth He put on thee, and He hath put them on all hating thee.

16. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കുന്ന സകലജാതികളെയും നീ മുടിച്ചുകളയേണം; നിനക്കു അവരോടു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ നീ സേവിക്കരുതു; അതു നിനക്കു കണിയായിത്തീരും.

16. 'And thou hast consumed all the peoples whom Jehovah thy God is giving to thee; thine eye hath no pity on them, and thou dost not serve their gods, for a snare it [is] to thee.

17. ഈ ജാതികള് എന്നെക്കാള് പെരുപ്പം ഉള്ളവര്; അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളവാന് എനിക്കു എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു നീ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറയുമായിരിക്കും എന്നാല് അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു;

17. 'When thou sayest in thine heart, These nations [are] more numerous than I, how am I able to dispossess them? --

18. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഫറവോനോടും എല്ലാ മിസ്രയീമ്യരോടും ചെയ്തതായി

18. thou art not afraid of them; thou dost surely remember that which Jehovah thy God hath done to Pharaoh, and to all Egypt,

19. നിന്റെ കണ്ണാലെ കണ്ട വലിയ പരീക്ഷകളും അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച ബലമുള്ള കയ്യും നീട്ടിയ ഭുജവും നീ നല്ലവണ്ണം ഔര്ക്കേണം; നീ പേടിക്കുന്ന സകലജാതികളോടും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യും.

19. the great trials which thine eyes have seen, and the signs, and the wonders, and the strong hand, and the stretched-out arm, with which Jehovah thy God hath brought thee out; so doth Jehovah thy God to all the peoples of whose presence thou art afraid.

20. അത്രയുമല്ല, ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരും നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നവരും നശിച്ചുപോകുംവരെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരുടെ ഇടയില് കടുന്നലിനെ അയക്കും.

20. 'And also the locust doth Jehovah thy God send among them, till the destruction of those who are left, and of those who are hidden from thy presence;

21. നീ അവരെക്കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിക്കരുതു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്ന വലിയവനും ഭയങ്കരനുമായ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഉണ്ടു.

21. thou art not terrified by their presence, for Jehovah thy God [is] in thy midst, a God great and fearful.

22. ആ ജാതികളെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കുറേശ്ശ കുറേശ്ശയായി നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങള് പെരുകി നിനക്കു ഉപദ്രവമാകാതിരിപ്പാന് അവരെ ക്ഷണത്തില് നശിപ്പിച്ചുകൂടാ.

22. 'And Jehovah thy God hath cast out these nations from thy presence little [by] little, (thou art not able to consume them hastily, lest the beast of the field multiply against thee),

23. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ നിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കയും അവര് നശിച്ചുപോകുംവരെ അവര്ക്കും മഹാപരാഭവം വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും. അവരുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ നിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; നീ അവരുടെ പേര് ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴില്നിന്നു ഇല്ലാതെയാക്കേണം.

23. and Jehovah thy God hath given them before thee, and destroyed them -- a great destruction -- till their destruction;

24. അവരെ സംഹരിച്ചുതീരുവോളം ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നില്ക്കയില്ല.

24. and He hath given their kings into thy hand, and thou hast destroyed their name from under the heavens; no man doth station himself in thy presence till thou hast destroyed them.

25. അവരുടെ ദേവപ്രതിമകളെ തീയില് ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം; നീ വശീകരിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിപ്പാന് അവയിന്മേലുള്ള വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും മോഹിച്ചു എടുത്തുകൊള്ളരുതു; അതു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു അറെപ്പാകുന്നു.

25. 'The graven images of their gods ye do burn with fire; thou dost not desire the silver and gold on them, nor hast thou taken [it] to thyself, lest thou be snared by it, for the abomination of Jehovah thy God it [is];

26. നീയും അതുപോലെ ശാപമായ്തീരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അറെപ്പായുള്ളതു നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് കൊണ്ടുപോകരുതു; അതു നിനക്കു തീരെ അറെപ്പും വെറുപ്പുമായിരിക്കേണം; അതു ശാപഗ്രസ്തമല്ലോ.

26. and thou dost not bring in an abomination unto thy house -- or thou hast been devoted like it; -- thou dost utterly detest it, and thou dost utterly abominate it; for it [is] devoted.
