1. മൂത്തവനെ ഭത്സിക്കാതെ അപ്പനെപ്പോലയും ഇളയവരെ സഹോദരന്മാരെപ്പോലെയും

1. Rebuke not an elder, but intreat [him] as a father, [and] the younger men as brethren,

2. മൂത്ത സ്ത്രീകളെ അമ്മമാരെപ്പോലെയും ഇളയ സ്ത്രീകളെ പൂര്ണ്ണനിര്മ്മലതയോടെ സഹോദരികളെപ്പോലെയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക.

2. the elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters, with all purity.

3. സാക്ഷാല് വിധവമാരായിരിക്കുന്ന വിധവമാരെ മാനിക്ക.

3. Honour widows that are widows indeed.

4. വല്ല വിധവേക്കും പുത്രപൌത്രന്മാര് ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് അവര് മുമ്പെ സ്വന്തകുടുംബത്തില് ഭക്തി കാണിച്ചു അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്ക്കും പ്രത്യുപകാരം ചെയ്വാന് പഠിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതു ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് പ്രസാദകരമാകുന്നു.

4. But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let those learn first to govern their house in piety and to recompense their parents, for this is honest and pleasing before God.

5. സാക്ഷാല് വിധവയും ഏകാകിയുമായവള് ദൈവത്തില് ആശവെച്ചു രാപ്പകല് യാചനയിലും പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയിലും ഉറ്റുപാര്ക്കുംന്നു.

5. Now she that is a widow indeed and desolate, trusts in God, and is diligent in supplications and prayers night and day,

6. കാമുകിയായവളോ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കയില് തന്നേ ചത്തവള്.

6. but she that lives in pleasure is dead while she lives.

7. അവര് നിരപവാദ്യമാരായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇതു ആജ്ഞാപിക്ക.

7. Therefore command these things, that they may be blameless.

8. തനിക്കുള്ളവര്ക്കും പ്രത്യേകം സ്വന്ത കുടുംബക്കാര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി കരുതാത്തവന് വിശ്വാസം തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു അവിശ്വാസിയെക്കാള് അധമനായിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. But if any provide not for his own and specially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

9. സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളാല് ശ്രുതിപ്പെട്ടു ഏകഭര്ത്താവിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നു അറുപതു വയസ്സിന്നു താഴെയല്ലാത്ത വിധവ

9. Let a widow be placed on the list being not less than sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,

10. മക്കളെ വളര്ത്തുകയോ അതിഥികളെ കഴുകുകയോ ഞെരുക്കമുള്ളവര്ക്കും മുട്ടുതീര്ക്കുംകയോ സര്വ്വസല്പ്രവൃത്തിയും ചെയ്തു പോരുകയോ ചെയ്തു എങ്കില് അവളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാം.

10. having a good testimony of good works, if she has brought up [well her] children, if she has exercised hospitality, if she has washed the feet of the saints, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.

11. ഇളയ വിധവമാരെ ഒഴിക്ക; അവര് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു വിരോധമായി പുളെച്ചു മദിക്കുമ്പോള് വിവാഹം ചെയ്വാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കും.

11. But the younger widows refuse, for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they desire to marry,

12. ആദ്യ വിശ്വാസം തള്ളുകയാല് അവര്ക്കും ശിക്ഷാവിധി ഉണ്ടു.

12. having condemnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

13. അത്രയുമല്ല അവര് വീടുതോറും നടന്നു മിനക്കെടുവാനും ശീലിക്കും; മിനക്കെടുക മാത്രമല്ല വായാടികളും പരകാര്യത്തില് ഇടപെടുന്നവരുമായി അരുതാത്തതു സംസാരിക്കും.

13. And reject also the idle, who have learned to wander about from house to house, and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

14. ആകയാല് ഇളയവര് വിവാഹം ചെയ്കയും പുത്രസമ്പത്തുണ്ടാക്കുകയും ഭവനം രക്ഷിക്കയും വിരോധിക്കു അപവാദത്തിന്നു അവസരം ഒന്നും കൊടുക്കാതിരിക്കയും വേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

14. I desire therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, govern the house, giving no occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

15. ഇപ്പോള് തന്നേ ചിലര് സാത്താന്റെ പിന്നാലെ പോയല്ലോ.

15. For some are already turned back after Satan.

16. ഒരു വിശ്വാസിനിക്കു വിധവമാര് ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് അവള് തന്നേ അവര്ക്കും മുട്ടുതീര്ക്കട്ടെ; സഭെക്കു ഭാരം വരരുതു; സാക്ഷാല് വിധവമാരായവര്ക്കും മുട്ടുതീര്പ്പാനുണ്ടല്ലോ.

16. If any faithful man or woman has widows, let them maintain them and let not the church be charged, that it may relieve those that are widows indeed.

17. നന്നായി ഭരിക്കുന്ന മൂപ്പന്മാരെ, പ്രത്യേകം വചനത്തിലും ഉപദേശത്തിലും അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നവരെ തന്നേ, ഇരട്ടി മാനത്തിന്നു യോഗ്യരായി എണ്ണുക.

17. Let the elders that govern well be counted worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in the word and doctrine.

18. മെതിക്കുന്ന കാളെക്കു മുഖക്കൊട്ട കെട്ടരുതു എന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തു പറയുന്നു; വേലക്കാരന് തന്റെ കൂലിക്കു യോഗ്യന് എന്നും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

18. For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain. And, The labourer [is] worthy of his reward.

19. Against an elder do not receive an accusation, unless there are two or three witnesses.

20. പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ ശേഷമുള്ളവര്ക്കും ഭയത്തിന്നായി എല്ലാവരും കേള്ക്കെ ശാസിക്ക.

20. Those that sin rebuke before all, that the others may also fear.

21. നീ പക്ഷമായി ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെകണ്ടു സിദ്ധാന്തം കൂടാതെ ഇവ പ്രമാണിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ദൈവത്തെയും ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനെയും ശ്രേഷ്ഠ ദൂതന്മാരെയും സാക്ഷിയാക്കി നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു.

21. I charge [thee] before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

22. യാതൊരുത്തന്റെ മേലും വേഗത്തില് കൈവെക്കരുതു; അന്യന്മാരുടെ പാപങ്ങളില് ഔഹരിക്കാരനാകയുമരുതു. നിന്നെത്തന്നെ നിര്മ്മലനായി കാത്തുകൊള്ക.

22. Lay hands suddenly on no one, neither be partaker of the sins of others; keep thyself pure.

23. മേലാല് വെള്ളം മാത്രം കുടിക്കാതെ നിന്റെ അജീര്ണ്ണതയും കൂടെക്കൂടെയുള്ള ക്ഷീണതയും നിമിത്തം അല്പം വീഞ്ഞും സേവിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

23. Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

24. ചില മനുഷ്യരുടെ പാപങ്ങള് വിസ്താരത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ തന്നേ വെളിവായിരിക്കുന്നു; ചിലരുടെ പാപങ്ങളോ ക്രമേണയത്രേ.

24. Some men's sins are manifest beforehand, before they come unto judgment, but to others they follow after.

25. സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ വെളിവാകുന്നു; വെളിവാകാത്തവയും മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കയില്ല.

25. Likewise also the good works [of some] are manifest beforehand, and those that are otherwise cannot be hid.:
