1. വാഴ്ചകള്ക്കും അധികാരങ്ങള്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങി അനുസരിപ്പാനും സകലസല്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കും ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാനും

1. Warne them to be subiect to rule & power, to obey magistrates, to be redie to euery good worke:

2. ആരെക്കൊണ്ടും ദൂഷണം പറയാതെയും കലഹിക്കാതെയും ശാന്തന്മാരായി സകലമനുഷ്യരോടും പൂര്ണ്ണസൌമ്യത കാണിപ്പാനും അവരെ ഔര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുക.

2. To blaspheme no man, to be no fyghters, [but] gentle, shewyng all mekenesse vnto all men.

3. മുമ്പെ നാമും ബുദ്ധികെട്ടവരും അനുസരണമില്ലാത്തവരും വഴിതെറ്റി നടക്കുന്നവരും നാനാമോഹങ്ങള്ക്കും ഭോഗങ്ങള്ക്കും അധീനരും ഈര്ഷ്യയിലും അസൂയയിലും കാലം കഴിക്കുന്നവരും ദ്വേഷിതരും അന്യോന്യം പകെക്കുന്നവരും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

3. For we our selues also were some tyme foolyshe, disobedient, deceaued, seruyng diuers lustes & voluptuousnes, lyuyng in maliciousnesse and enuie, full of hate, hatyng one another.

4. എന്നാല് നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയയും മനുഷ്യപ്രീതിയും ഉദിച്ചപ്പോള്

4. But after that the kyndenesse and loue of our sauiour God to manwarde appeared,

5. അവന് നമ്മെ നാം ചെയ്ത നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികളാലല്ല, തന്റെ കരുണപ്രകാരമത്രേ രക്ഷിച്ചതു.

5. Not of workes which [be] in ryghteousnesse wrought, but accordyng to his mercie, he saued vs by the fountayne of regeneration and renuyng of the holy ghost,

6. നാം അവന്റെ കൃപയാല് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു പ്രത്യാശപ്രകാരം നിത്യജീവന്റെ അവകാശികളായിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു പുനര്ജ്ജനനസ്നാനം കൊണ്ടും

6. Which he shed on vs richlie through Iesus Christe our sauiour:

7. നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ യേശു ക്രിസ്തുമൂലം നമ്മുടെമേല് ധാരാളമായി പകര്ന്ന പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ നവീകരണംകൊണ്ടും തന്നേ.

7. That we iustified by his grace, should be made heyres accordyng to the hope of eternall lyfe.

8. ഈ വചനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യം; ദൈവത്തില് വിശ്വസിച്ചവര് സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളില് ഉത്സാഹികളായിരിപ്പാന് കരുതേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പറയേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു ശുഭവും മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും ഉപകാരവും ആകുന്നു.

8. [This is] a faythfull saying: And of these thynges I wyll that thou confirme, that they which haue beleued in God, myght be carefull to shewe foorth good workes. These thynges are good and profitable vnto men.

9. മൌഢ്യതര്ക്കവും വംശാവലികളും കലഹവും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാദവും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുനില്ക്ക. ഇവ നിഷ്പ്രയോജനവും വ്യര്ത്ഥവുമല്ലോ.

9. But foolishe questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and striuinges about the lawe, auoyde: for they are vnprofitable and vayne.

10. സഭയില് ഭിന്നത വരുത്തുന്ന മനുഷ്യനോടു ഒന്നു രണ്ടു വട്ടം ബുദ്ധി പറഞ്ഞശേഷം അവനെ ഒഴിക്ക;

10. A man that is an aucthour of sectes, after the first and the seconde admonition, auoyde:

11. ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് വക്രബുദ്ധിയായി പാപം ചെയ്തു തന്നെത്താന് കുറ്റം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിനക്കു അറിയാമല്ലോ.

11. Knowyng, that he that is such, is subuerted and sinneth, beyng dampned of hym selfe.

12. ഞാന് അര്ത്തെമാസിനെയോ തിഹിക്കൊസിനെയോ അങ്ങോട്ടു അയക്കുമ്പോള് നിക്കൊപ്പൊലിസില് വന്നു എന്നോടു ചേരുവാന് ശ്രമിക്ക. അവിടെ ഞാന് ശീതകാലം കഴിപ്പാന് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. When I shall sende Artemas vnto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come vnto me vnto Nicopolis: For I haue determined there to wynter.

13. ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിയായ സേനാസിന്നു അപ്പൊല്ലോസിന്നും ഒരു മുട്ടും വരാതവണ്ണം ഉത്സാഹിച്ചു വഴിയാത്ര അയക്ക.

13. Bryng Zenas the lawyer, & Apollos, on their iourney diligently, that nothing be lackyng vnto them.

14. നമുക്കുള്ളവരും ഫലമില്ലാത്തവര് ആകാതെ അത്യാവശ്യസംഗതികളില് സല്പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു മുമ്പരായിരിപ്പാന് പഠിക്കട്ടെ.

14. And let ours also learne to excell in good workes to necessarie vses, that they be not vnfruitefull.

15. എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവര് എല്ലാവരും നിനക്കു വന്ദനം ചെല്ലുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളെ വിശ്വാസത്തില് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും വന്ദനം ചൊല്ലുക. കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടെല്ലാവരോടുംകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ
