1. ആദിയില് ദൈവം ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.
എബ്രായർ 1:10, എബ്രായർ 11:3

1. IN THE beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth. [Heb. 11:3.]

2. ഭൂമി പാഴായും ശൂന്യമായും ഇരുന്നു; ആഴത്തിന്മീതെ ഇരുള് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു വെള്ളത്തിന് മീതെ പരിവര്ത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

2. The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.

3. വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടായി.

3. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

4. വെളിച്ചം നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു ദൈവം വെളിച്ചവും ഇരുളും തമ്മില് വേര് പിരിച്ചു.

4. And God saw that the light was good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it; and God separated the light from the darkness. [II Cor. 4:6.]

5. ദൈവം വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു പകല് എന്നും ഇരുളിന്നു രാത്രി എന്നും പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ഒന്നാം ദിവസം.

5. And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

6. ദൈവം വെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്നും തമ്മില് വേര്പിരിവായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

6. And God said, Let there be a firmament [the expanse of the sky] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters [below] from the waters [above].

7. വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടു ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിന് കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളവും വിതാനത്തിന് മീതെയുള്ള വെള്ളവും തമ്മില് വേര്പിരിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

7. And God made the firmament [the expanse] and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it was so.

8. ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിന്നു ആകാശം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, രണ്ടാം ദിവസം.

8. And God called the firmament Heavens. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

9. ദൈവംആകാശത്തിന് കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളം ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു കൂടട്ടെ; ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലം കാണട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

9. And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be collected into one place [of standing], and let the dry land appear. And it was so.

10. ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തിന്നു ദൈവം ഭൂമി എന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു സമുദ്രം എന്നും പേരിട്ടു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

10. God called the dry land Earth, and the accumulated waters He called Seas. And God saw that this was good (fitting, admirable) and He approved it.

11. ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു പുല്ലും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയില് അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവരട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

11. And God said, Let the earth put forth [tender] vegetation: plants yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself, each according to its kind, upon the earth. And it was so.

12. ഭൂമിയില് നിന്നു പുല്ലും അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവന്നു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

12. The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed according to their own kinds and trees bearing fruit in which was their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (suitable, admirable) and He approved it.

13. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, മൂന്നാം ദിവസം.

13. And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

14. പകലും രാവും തമ്മില് വേര്പിരിവാന് ആകാശവിതാനത്തില് വെളിച്ചങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അവ അടയാളങ്ങളായും കാലം, ദിവസം, സംവത്സരം എന്നിവ തിരിച്ചറിവാനായും ഉതകട്ടെ;

14. And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs and tokens [of God's provident care], and [to mark] seasons, days, and years, [Gen. 8:22.]

15. ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാന് ആകാശവിതാനത്തില് അവ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

15. And let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light upon the earth. And it was so.

16. പകല് വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പമേറിയ വെളിച്ചവും രാത്രി വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പം കുറഞ്ഞ വെളിച്ചവും ആയി രണ്ടു വലിയ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളെ ദൈവം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

16. And God made the two great lights--the greater light (the sun) to rule the day and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night. He also made the stars.

17. ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാനും പകലും രാത്രിയും വാഴുവാനും വെളിച്ചത്തെയും ഇരുളിനെയും തമ്മില് വേര്പിരിപ്പാനുമായി

17. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth,

18. ദൈവം അവയെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തില് നിര്ത്തി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

18. To rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good (fitting, pleasant) and He approved it.

19. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, നാലാം ദിവസം.

19. And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

20. വെള്ളത്തില് ജലജന്തുക്കള് കൂട്ടമായി ജനിക്കട്ടെ; ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തില് പറവജാതി പറക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു.

20. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly and swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly over the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.

21. ദൈവം വലിയ തിമിംഗലങ്ങളെയും വെള്ളത്തില് കൂട്ടമായി ജനിച്ചു ചരിക്കുന്ന അതതുതരം ജീവജന്തുക്കളെയും അതതു തരം പറവജാതിയെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

21. God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (suitable, admirable) and He approved it.

22. നിങ്ങള് വര്ദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളത്തില് നിറവിന് ; പറവജാതി ഭൂമിയില് പെരുകട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു ദൈവം അവയെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

22. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the fowl multiply in the earth.

23. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, അഞ്ചാം ദിവസം.

23. And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

24. അതതുതരം കന്നുകാലി, ഇഴജാതി, കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഇങ്ങനെ അതതു തരം ജീവജന്തുക്കള് ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു ഉളവാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

24. And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creeping things, and [wild] beasts of the earth according to their kinds. And it was so.

25. ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം അതതു തരം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെയും അതതു തരം കന്നുകാലികളെയും അതതു തരം ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

25. And God made the [wild] beasts of the earth according to their kinds, and domestic animals according to their kinds, and everything that creeps upon the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (fitting, pleasant) and He approved it.

26. അനന്തരം ദൈവംനാം നമ്മുടെ സ്വരൂപത്തില് നമ്മുടെ സാദൃശ്യപ്രകാരം മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുക; അവര് സമുദ്രത്തിലുള്ള മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലുള്ള പറവജാതിയിന്മേലും മൃഗങ്ങളിന്മേലും സര്വ്വഭൂമിയിന്മേലും ഭൂമിയില് ഇഴയുന്ന എല്ലാ ഇഴജാതിയിന്മേലും വാഴട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

26. God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. [Ps. 104:30; Heb. 1:2; 11:3.]

27. ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം തന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തില് മനുഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തില് അവനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി അവരെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.

27. So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. [Col. 3:9, 10; James 3:8, 9.]

28. ദൈവം അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചുനിങ്ങള് സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയില് നിറഞ്ഞു അതിനെ അടക്കി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലെപറവജാതിയിന്മേലും സകലഭൂചരജന്തുവിന്മേലും വാഴുവിന് എന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

28. And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.

29. ഭൂമിയില് എങ്ങും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഇതാ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആഹാരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ;

29. And God said, See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the land and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food.

30. ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങള്ക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പറവകള്ക്കും ഭൂമിയില് ചരിക്കുന്ന സകല ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കള്ക്കും ആഹാരമായിട്ടു പച്ചസസ്യം ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

30. And to all the animals on the earth and to every bird of the air and to everything that creeps on the ground--to everything in which there is the breath of life--I have given every green plant for food. And it was so.

31. താന് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതിനെ ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം നോക്കി, അതു എത്രയും നല്ലതു എന്നു കണ്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ആറാം ദിവസം.

31. And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely. And there was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.
