1. അബ്രാമിന്നു തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോള് യഹോവ അബ്രാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവനോടുഞാന് സര്വ്വശക്തിയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകന്നു; നീ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നടന്നു നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരിക്ക.

1. And Abram is a son of ninety and nine years, and Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith unto him, 'I [am] God Almighty, walk habitually before Me, and be thou perfect;

2. എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ ഞാന് എന്റെ നിയമം സ്ഥാപിക്കും; നിന്നെ അധികമധികമായി വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

2. and I give My covenant between Me and thee, and multiply thee very exceedingly.'

3. അപ്പോള് അബ്രാം സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു; ദൈവം അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്

3. And Abram falleth upon his face, and God speaketh with him, saying,

4. എനിക്കു നിന്നോടു ഒരു നിയമമുണ്ടു; നീ ബഹുജാതികള്ക്കു പിതാവാകും;

4. 'I -- lo, My covenant [is] with thee, and thou hast become father of a multitude of nations;

5. ഇനി നിന്നെ അബ്രാം എന്നല്ല വിളിക്കേണ്ടതു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ ബഹു ജാതികള്ക്കു പിതാവാക്കിയിരിക്കയാല് നിന്റെ പേര് അബ്രാഹാം എന്നിരിക്കേണം.

5. and thy name is no more called Abram, but thy name hath been Abraham, for father of a multitude of nations have I made thee;

6. ഞാന് നിന്നെ അധികമധികമായി വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു, അനേകജാതികളാക്കും; നിന്നില് നിന്നു രാജാക്കന്മാരും ഉത്ഭവിക്കും.

6. and I have made thee exceeding fruitful, and made thee become nations, and kings go out from thee.

7. ഞാന് നിനക്കും നിന്റെ ശേഷം നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും ദൈവമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് എനിക്കും നിനക്കും നിന്റെ ശേഷം തലമുറതലമുറയായി നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ എന്റെ നിയമത്തെ നിത്യനിയമമായി സ്ഥാപിക്കും.

7. 'And I have established My covenant between Me and thee, and thy seed after thee, to their generations, for a covenant age-during, to become God to thee, and to thy seed after thee;

8. ഞാന് നിനക്കും നിന്റെ ശേഷം നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും നീ പ്രവാസം ചെയ്യുന്ന ദേശമായ കനാന് ദേശം ഒക്കെയും ശാശ്വതാവകാശമായി തരും; ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും ദൈവമായുമിരിക്കും.

8. and I have given to thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojournings, the whole land of Canaan, for a possession age-during, and I have become their God.'

9. ദൈവം പിന്നെയും അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനീയും നിന്റെശേഷം തലമുറതലമുറയായി നിന്റെ സന്തതിയും എന്റെ നിയമം പ്രമാണിക്കേണം.

9. And God saith unto Abraham, 'And thou dost keep My covenant, thou and thy seed after thee, to their generations;

10. എനിക്കും നിങ്ങള്ക്കും നിന്റെ ശേഷം നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേയുള്ളതും നിങ്ങള് പ്രമാണിക്കേണ്ടതുമായ എന്റെ നിയമം ആവിതുനിങ്ങളില് പുരുഷപ്രജയൊക്കെയും പരിച്ഛേദന ഏല്ക്കേണം.

10. this [is] My covenant which ye keep between Me and you, and thy seed after thee: Every male of you [is] to be circumcised;

11. നിങ്ങളുടെ അഗ്രചര്മ്മം പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്യേണം; അതു എനിക്കും നിങ്ങള്ക്കും മദ്ധ്യേയുള്ള നിയമത്തിന്റെ അടയാളം ആകും.

11. and ye have circumcised the flesh of your foreskin, and it hath become a token of a covenant between Me and you.

12. തലമുറതലമുറയായി നിങ്ങളില് പുരുഷപ്രജയൊക്കെയും എട്ടുദിവസം പ്രായമാകുമ്പോള് പരിച്ഛേദനഏല്ക്കേണം; വീട്ടില് ജനിച്ച ദാസനായാലും നിന്റെ സന്തതിയല്ലാത്തവനായി അന്യനോടുവിലകൂ വാങ്ങിയവനായാലും ശരി.

12. 'And a son of eight days is circumcised by you; every male to your generations, born in the house, or bought with money from any son of a stranger, who is not of thy seed;

13. നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് ജനിച്ച ദാസനും നീ വിലകൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങിയവനും പരിച്ഛേദന ഏറ്റേകഴിയൂ; എന്റെ നിയമം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേഹത്തില് നിത്യനിയമമായിരിക്കേണം.

13. he is certainly circumcised who [is] born in thine house, or bought with thy money; and My covenant hath become in your flesh a covenant age-during;

14. അഗ്രചര്മ്മിയായ പുരുഷപ്രജയെ പരിച്ഛേദന ഏല്ക്കാതിരുന്നാല് ജനത്തില് നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം; അവന് എന്റെ നിയമം ലംഘിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. and an uncircumcised one, a male, the flesh of whose foreskin is not circumcised, even that person hath been cut off from his people; My covenant he hath broken.'

15. ദൈവം പിന്നെയും അബ്രാഹാമിനോടുനിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറായിയെ സാറായി എന്നല്ല വിളിക്കേണ്ടതു; അവളുടെ പേര് സാറാ എന്നു ഇരിക്കേണം.

15. And God saith unto Abraham, 'Sarai thy wife -- thou dost not call her name Sarai, for Sarah [is] her name;

16. ഞാന് അവളെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവളില്നിന്നു നിനക്കു ഒരു മകനെ തരും; ഞാന് അവളെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയും അവള് ജാതികള്ക്കു മാതാവായി തീരുകയും ജാതികളുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാര് അവളില്നിന്നു ഉത്ഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

16. and I have blessed her, and have also given to thee a son from her; and I have blessed her, and she hath become nations -- kings of peoples are from her.'

17. അപ്പോള് അബ്രാഹാം കവിണ്ണുവീണു ചിരിച്ചുനൂറു വയസ്സുള്ളവന്നു മകന് ജനിക്കുമോ? തൊണ്ണൂറു വയസ്സുള്ള സാറാ പ്രസവിക്കുമോ? എന്നു തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറഞ്ഞു.

17. And Abraham falleth upon his face, and laugheth, and saith in his heart, 'To the son of an hundred years is one born? or doth Sarah -- daughter of ninety years -- bear?'

18. യിശ്മായേല് നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നാല്മതി എന്നു അബ്രാഹാം ദൈവത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. And Abraham saith unto God, 'O that Ishmael may live before Thee;'

19. അതിന്നു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഅല്ല, നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറാ തന്നേ നിനക്കൊരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; നീ അവന്നു യിസ്ഹാക് എന്നു പേരിടേണം; ഞാന് അവനോടു അവന്റെ ശേഷം അവന്റെ സന്തതിയോടും എന്റെ നിയമത്തെ നിത്യനിയമമായി ഉറപ്പിക്കും

19. and God saith, 'Sarah thy wife is certainly bearing a son to thee, and thou hast called his name Isaac, and I have established My covenant with him, for a covenant age-during, to his seed after him.

20. യിശ്മായേലിനെ കുറിച്ചും ഞാന് നിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അത്യന്തം സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവനാക്കി വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കും. അവന് പന്ത്രണ്ടു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ ജനിപ്പിക്കും; ഞാന് അവനെ വലിയോരു ജാതിയാക്കും.

20. As to Ishmael, I have heard thee; lo, I have blessed him, and made him fruitful, and multiplied him, very exceedingly; twelve princes doth he beget, and I have made him become a great nation;

21. എന്റെ നിയമം ഞാന് ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നതോ, ഇനിയത്തെ ആണ്ടു ഈ സമയത്തു സാറാ നിനക്കു പ്രസവിപ്പാനുള്ള യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു ആകുന്നു.

21. and My covenant I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah doth bear to thee at this appointed time in the next year;'

22. ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു തീര്ന്നശേഷം അവനെ വിട്ടു കയറിപ്പോയി.

22. and He finisheth speaking with him, and God goeth up from Abraham.

23. അനന്തരം അബ്രാഹാം തന്റെ മകനായ യിശ്മായേലിനെയും തന്റെ വീട്ടില് ജനിച്ച സകല ദാസന്മാരെയും താന് വിലകൂ വാങ്ങിയവരെ ഒക്കെയും അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ വീട്ടിലുള്ള സകല പുരുഷന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടി ദൈവം തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവരുടെ അഗ്രചര്മ്മത്തെ അന്നുതന്നേ പരിച്ഛേദന കഴിച്ചു.

23. And Abraham taketh Ishmael his son, and all those born in his house, and all those bought with his money -- every male among the men of Abraham's house -- and circumciseth the flesh of their foreskin, in this self-same day, as God hath spoken with him.

24. അബ്രാഹാം പരിച്ഛേദനയേറ്റപ്പോള് അവന്നു തൊണ്ണൂറ്റെമ്പതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു.

24. And Abraham [is] a son of ninety and nine years in the flesh of his foreskin being circumcised;

25. അവന്റെ മകനായ യിശ്മായേല് പരിച്ഛേദനയേറ്റപ്പോള് അവന്നു പതിമൂന്നു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു.

25. and Ishmael his son [is] a son of thirteen years in the flesh of his foreskin being circumcised;

26. അബ്രാഹാമും അവന്റെ മകനായ യിശ്മായേലും ഒരേ ദിവസത്തില്പരിച്ഛേദന ഏറ്റു.

26. in this self-same day hath Abraham been circumcised, and Ishmael his son;

27. വീട്ടില് ജനിച്ച ദാസന്മാരും അന്യരോടു അവന് വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയവരുമായി അവന്റെ വീട്ടിലുള്ളവര് എല്ലാവരും അവനോടുകൂടെ പരിച്ഛേദന ഏറ്റു.

27. and all the men of his house -- born in the house, and bought with money from the son of a stranger -- have been circumcised with him.
