1. നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാം രാജാവിന്റെ പതിനെട്ടാം ആണ്ടില് അബിയാം യെഹൂദയില് വാണുതുടങ്ങി.

1. The eighteenth year of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, reigned king Abiam over Juda,

2. അവന് മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മയഖാ എന്നു പേര്; അവള് അബീശാലോമിന്റെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

2. and ruled three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abesalom.

3. തന്റെ അപ്പന് മുമ്പെ ചെയ്തിരുന്ന സകലപാപങ്ങളിലും അവന് നടന്നു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഹൃദയംപോലെ അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കല് ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നില്ല.

3. And he walked in all the sins of his father which he did before him, and his heart was not whole with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

4. എങ്കിലും ദാവീദിന് നിമിത്തം അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവന്റെ മകനെ അവന്റെ അനന്തരവനായി ഉയര്ത്തിയും യെരൂശലേമിനെ നിലനിര്ത്തിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു യെരൂശലേമില് ഒരു ദീപം നല്കി.

4. Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a light in Jerusalem, that he set up his son after him to continue Jerusalem.

5. ദാവീദ് യഹോവേക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; ഹിത്യനായ ഊരീയാവിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് മാത്രമല്ലാതെ അവന് തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതില് ഒന്നും തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊരിക്കലും വിട്ടുമാറീട്ടില്ല.

5. Because that David did which pleased the LORD and turned from nothing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Urias the Hethite.

6. രെഹബെയാമും യൊരോബെയാമും തമ്മില് ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

6. And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam as long as he lived.

7. അബീയാമിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. അബീയാമും യൊരോബെയാമും തമ്മിലും യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

7. And the rest of the deeds of Abiam and all that he did, are written in the book of the deeds that were done in the days of the kings of Juda. And there was war between Abiam and Jeroboam.

8. അബിയാം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവര് ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ആസാ അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

8. And Abiam rested with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David. And Asa his son reigned in his stead.

9. യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഇരുപതാം ആണ്ടില് ആസാ യെഹൂദയില് രാജാവായി.

9. The twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Asa to reign over Juda,

10. അവന് നാല്പത്തൊന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മയഖാ എന്നു പേര്; അവള് അബിശാലോമിന്റെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

10. and ruled in Jerusalem forty one year. And his mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abesalom.

11. ആസാ തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെപ്പോലെ യഹോവേക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

11. And Asa did that seemed right in the eyes of the LORD, like David his father.

12. അവന് പുരുഷമൈഥുനക്കാരെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി, തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന സകലവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

12. And he made the stews of males depart the land, and put away all the Idols that his fathers had made.

13. തന്റെ അമ്മയായ മയഖ അശേരെക്കു ഒരു മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു അവന് അവളെ രാജ്ഞിസ്ഥാനത്തില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ആസാ അവളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം വെട്ടിമുറിച്ചു കിദ്രോന് തോട്ടിന്നരികെവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

13. And thereto he put down Maacah his mother from bearing rule, because she had made an Idol in a grove. And Asa destroyed her Idol and burnt it by the brook Cedron.

14. എന്നാല് പൂജാഗിരികള്ക്കു നീക്കംവന്നില്ല. എങ്കിലും ആസയുടെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവയിങ്കല് ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നു.

14. But he put not down the hill altars. Nevertheless Asa's heart was whole with the LORD all his days.

15. വെള്ളി, പൊന്നു, ഉപകരണങ്ങള് എന്നിങ്ങനെ തന്റെ അപ്പന് നിവേദിച്ചതും താന് തന്നേ നിവേദിച്ചതുമായ വസ്തുക്കളെ അവന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

15. And he brought in that his father had dedicated, and the things dedicate unto the house of the LORD, silver, gold, and Jewels.

16. ആസയും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ബയെശയും തമ്മില് ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

16. And there was war between Asa and Baasa king of Israel all their days.

17. യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ബയെശാ യെഹൂദയുടെ നേരെ വന്നു, യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ അടുക്കല് പോക്കുവരുത്തിന്നു ആരെയും സമ്മതിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രാമയെ പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

17. And Baasa king of Israel went up against Juda and built Ramah, because that he would let none of Asa's people king of Juda, go in or out.

18. അപ്പോള് ആസാ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില് ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന എല്ലാ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും രാജധാനിയിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരവും എടുത്തു തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചു; ആസാരാജാവു ദമ്മേശെക്കില് പാര്ത്ത ഹെസ്യോന്റെ മകനായ തബ്രിമ്മോന്റെ മകന് ബെന് -ഹദദ് എന്ന അരാംരാജാവിന്നു അവയെ കൊടുത്തയച്ചു

18. Then Asa took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasure of the house of the LORD, and all the treasure of the king's house and delivered it unto his servants, and sent them to Benhadad the son of Tabremon the son of Hezion king of Siria that dwelt at Damasco, saying:

19. എനിക്കും നിനക്കും, എന്റെ അപ്പന്നും നിന്റെ അപ്പന്നും തമ്മില് സഖ്യത ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; ഇതാ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു സമ്മാനമായി വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും കൊടുത്തയക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രയേല്രാജാവായ ബയെശാ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ചെന്നു അവനോടുള്ള നിന്റെ സഖ്യത ത്യജിക്കേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

19. there is a bond between thee and me as was between thy father and mine. Therefore I send thee both gold and silver for a gift, that thou go and break the appointment between thee and Baasa king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

20. ബെന് -ഹദദ് ആസാരാജാവിന്റെ അപേക്ഷകേട്ടു, തന്റെ സേനാപതികളെ യിസ്രായേല്പട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കു നേരെ അയച്ചു ഈയോനും ദാനും ആബേല്-ബേത്ത്-മയഖയും കിന്നെരോത്ത് മുഴുവനും നഫ്താലിദേശമൊക്കെയും പിടിച്ചടക്കി.

20. And Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ahion, Dan, Abel called Beth Maacah and all Ceneroth with all the land of Nepthali.

21. ബയെശാ അതു കേട്ടപ്പോള് രാമാ പണിയുന്നതു നിര്ത്തി തിര്സ്സയില് തന്നേ പാര്ത്തു.

21. And when Baasa heard that, he left building of Ramah and dwelt in Therzah.

22. ആസാരാജാവു ഒരു വിളംബരം പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കി ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ യെഹൂദയെ മുഴുവനും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; അവര് ചെന്നു ബയെശാ പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ച രാമയുടെ കല്ലും മരവും എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ആസാരാജാവു അവകൊണ്ടു ബെന്യാമീനിലെ ഗേബയും മിസ്പയും പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

22. Then king Asa made a proclamation thorowout all Juda, that none should be excused. And they took the stones of Ramah and the timber wherewith Baasa had built, and king Asa built there with Gabaah in Benjamin and Mazphah.

23. ആസയുടെ മറ്റുള്ള സകല വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന്റെ സകലപരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവന് പട്ടണങ്ങള് പണിതതും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. എന്നാല് അവന്റെ വാര്ദ്ധക്യകാലത്തു അവന്റെ കാലുകള്ക്കു ദീനംപിടിച്ചു.

23. And the remnant of all the deeds of Asa and of all his might and of all that he did, and the cities which he built, are written in the chronicles of the acts done in the days of the kings of Juda. Neverthelater in his old age he was diseased in his feet.

24. ആസാ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

24. And Asa laid him to rest with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father. And Jehosophat his son reigned in his room.

25. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടില് യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ മകനായ നാദാബ് യിസ്രായേലില് രാജാവായി; അവന് രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം യിസ്രായേലില് വാണു.

25. And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign upon Israel the second year of Asa king of Juda, and reigned upon Israel two year.

26. അവന് യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വഴിയിലും അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപത്തിലും നടന്നു.

26. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD and walked in the way of his father and in his sin wherewith he made Israel sin.

27. എന്നാല് യിസ്സാഖാര്ഗോത്രക്കാരനായ അഹിയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശാ അവന്നു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി; ഫെലിസ്ത്യര്ക്കുംള്ള ഗിബ്ബെഥോനില്വെച്ചു അവനെ കൊന്നു; നാദാബും എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലും ഗിബ്ബെഥോനെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

27. But Baasa the son of Ahiah of the house of Isacar conspired against him, and slew him at Gebethon a city of the Philistines for Nadab and all Israel lay at siege before Gebethon.

28. ബയെശാ അവനെ യെഹൂദാ രാജാവായ ആസയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടില് കൊന്നു; അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

28. And it was the third year of Asa king of Juda, when Baasa slew him, and reigned in his stead.

29. അവന് രാജാവായ ഉടനെ യൊരോബെയാം ഗൃഹത്തെ മുഴുവനും നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; യഹോവ ശിലോന്യനായ അഹിയാവു എന്ന തന്റെ ദാസന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം അവന് യൊരോബെയാമിന്നു ശ്വാസമുള്ള ഒന്നിനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ അശേഷം മുടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

29. And as soon as he was king, he slew all the house of Jeroboam and left him nought that breathed, until he had put him clean out, agreeing unto the saying of the LORD which he spake by his servant Ahiah the Silonite,

30. യൊരോബെയാം ചെയ്തതും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ചതുമായ പാപങ്ങള് നിമിത്തവും അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതുനിമിത്തവും തന്നേ.

30. for the sin of Jeroboam wherewith he sinned and made Israel sin, and for his angering wherewith he angered the LORD God of Israel.

31. നാദാബിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

31. The rest of the deeds of Nadab, and all he did, are written in the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

32. ആസയും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ബയെശയും തമ്മില് ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

32. And there was war between Asa and Baasa king of Israel all their days.

33. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടില് അഹീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശാ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവായി തിര്സ്സയില് ഇരുപത്തുനാലു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

33. And the third year of Asa king of Juda, Baasa the son of Ahiah began to reign over all Israel in Therzah, and continued twenty four year.

34. അവന് യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു. യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ വഴിയിലും അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപത്തിലും നടന്നു.

34. And he did that which displeased the LORD, for he walked in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin wherewith he made Israel sin.
