1. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടതിന്റെ നാനൂറ്റെണ്പതാം സംവത്സരത്തില് യിസ്രായേലില് ശലോമോന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ നാലാം ആണ്ടില് രണ്ടാം മാസമായ സീവ് മാസത്തില് അവന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം പണിവാന് തുടങ്ങി.

1. In the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year that Solomon was king of Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, the building of the Lord's house was started.

2. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു യഹോവേക്കു പണിത ആലയം അറുപതു മുഴം നീളവും ഇരുപതു മുഴം വീതിയും മുപ്പതു മുഴം ഉയരവും ഉള്ളതായിരുന്നു

2. The house which Solomon made for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.

3. ആലയമായ മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ മുഖമണ്ഡപം ആലയവീതിക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ഇരുപതു മുഴം നീളവും ആലയത്തിന്റെ മുന് വശത്തു പത്തു മുഴം വീതിയും ഉള്ളതായിരുന്നു.

3. The covered way before the Temple of the house was twenty cubits long, as wide as the house, and ten cubits wide in front of the house.

4. അവന് ആലയത്തിന്നു ജാലം ഇണക്കിയ കിളിവാതിലുകളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

4. And for the house he made windows, with network across.

5. മന്ദിരവും അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരവും കൂടിയ ആലയത്തിന്റെ ചുവരിനോടു ചേര്ത്തു ചുറ്റും തട്ടുതട്ടായി പുറവാരങ്ങളും പണിതു അവയില് ചുറ്റും അറകളും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

5. And against the walls all round, and against the walls of the Temple and of the inmost room, he put up wings, with side rooms all round:

6. താഴത്തെ പുറവാരം അഞ്ചു മുഴവും നടുവിലത്തേതു ആറു മുഴവും മൂന്നാമത്തേതു ഏഴു മുഴവും വീതിയുള്ളതായിരുന്നു; തുലാങ്ങള് ആലയഭിത്തികളില് അകത്തു ചെല്ലാതിരിപ്പാന് അവന് ആലയത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റും പുറമെ ഗളം പണിതു.

6. The lowest line of them being five cubits wide, the middle six cubits wide and the third seven cubits; for there was a space all round the outside walls of the house so that the boards supporting the rooms did not have to be fixed in the walls of the house.

7. വെട്ടുകുഴിയില്വെച്ചു തന്നേ കുറവുതീര്ത്ത കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു ആലയം പണിതതിനാല് അതു പണിയുന്ന സമയത്തു ചുറ്റിക, മഴു മുതലായ യാതൊരു ഇരിമ്പായുധത്തിന്റെയും ഒച്ച ആലയത്തിങ്കല് കേള്പ്പാനില്ലായിരുന്നു.

7. (And the stones used in the building of the house were squared at the place where they were cut out; there was no sound of hammer or axe or any iron instrument while they were building the house.)

8. താഴത്തെ പുറവാരത്തിന്റെ വാതില് ആലയത്തിന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ആയിരുന്നു; ചുഴല്കോവണിയില്കൂടെ നടുവിലെ പുറവാരത്തിലേക്കും നടുവിലത്തേതില്നിന്നു മൂന്നാമത്തെ പുറവാരത്തിലേക്കും കയറാം.

8. The door to the lowest side rooms was in the right side of the house; and they went up by twisting steps into the middle rooms, and from the middle into the third.

9. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ആലയം പണിതുതീര്ത്തു; ദേവദാരുത്തുലാങ്ങളും ദേവദാരുപ്പലകയുംകൊണ്ടു ആലയത്തിന്നു മച്ചിട്ടു.

9. So he put up the house and made it complete, roofing it with boards of cedar-wood.

10. ആലയത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള തട്ടുകള് അയ്യഞ്ചു മുഴം ഉയരത്തില് അവന് പണിതു ദേവദാരുത്തുലാങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടു ആലയത്തോടു ഇണെച്ചു.

10. And he put up the line of side rooms against the walls of the house, fifteen cubits high, resting against the house on boards of cedar-wood.

11. ശലോമോന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

11. (And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,

12. നീ പണിയുന്ന ഈ ആലയം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; നീ എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ ആചരിച്ചു എന്റെ വിധികളെ അനുസരിച്ചു എന്റെ കല്പനകളൊക്കെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടന്നാല് ഞാന് നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം നിന്നില് നിവര്ത്തിക്കും.

12. About this house which you are building: if you will keep my laws and give effect to my decisions and be guided by my rules, I will give effect to my word which I gave to David your father.

13. ഞാന് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ വസിക്കും; എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയില്ല.

13. And I will be ever among the children of Israel, and will not go away from my people.

14. അങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് ആലയം പണിതുതീര്ത്തു.

14. So Solomon made the building of the house complete.)

15. അവന് ആലയത്തിന്റെ ചുവര് അകത്തെവശം ദേവദാരുപ്പലകകൊണ്ടു പണിതു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് ആലയത്തിന്റെ നിലംമുതല് മച്ചുവരെ അകത്തെ വശം മരംകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചു; ആലയത്തിന്റെ നിലം സരളപ്പലകകൊണ്ടു തളമിട്ടു.

15. The walls of the house were covered inside with cedar-wood boards; from the floor to the roof of the house they were covered inside with wood; and the floor was covered with boards of cypress-wood.

16. ആലയത്തിന്റെ പിന് വശം ഇരുപതു മുഴം നീളത്തില് നിലംമുതല് ഉത്തരം വരെ ദേവദാരുപ്പലകകൊണ്ടു പണിതുഇങ്ങനെയാകുന്നു അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരമായ അതിവിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ ഉള്വശം പണിതതു.

16. And at the back of the house a further space of twenty cubits was shut in with boards of cedar-wood, for the inmost room.

17. അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ മുന് ഭാഗത്തുള്ള മന്ദിരമായ ആലയത്തിന്നു നാല്പതു മുഴം നിളമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

17. And the house, that is, the Temple, in front of the holy place was forty cubits long.

18. ആലയത്തിന്റെ അകത്തെ ചുവരിന്മേല് ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടുള്ള കുമിഴുകളും വിടര്ന്ന പുഷ്പങ്ങളും കൊത്തുപണിയായിരുന്നു; എല്ലാം ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടായിരുന്നു; കല്ലു അശേഷം കാണ്മാനുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

18. (All the inside of the house was cedar-wood, ornamented with designs of buds and flowers; no stonework was to be seen inside.)

19. ആലയത്തിന്റെ അകത്തു യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകം വെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് ഒരു അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരം ചമെച്ചു.

19. And he made ready an inmost room in the middle of the house, in which to put the ark of the agreement of the Lord.

20. അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ അകം ഇരുപതു മുഴം നീളവും ഇരുപതു മുഴം വീതിയും ഇരുപതു മുഴം ഉയരവും ഉള്ളതായിരുന്നു; അവന് അതു തങ്കംകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു; ദേവദാരുമരംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ധൂപപീഠവും പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

20. And the inmost room was twenty cubits square and twenty cubits high, plated over with clear gold, and he made an altar of cedar-wood, plating it with gold.

21. ആലയത്തിന്റെ അകം ശലോമോന് തങ്കംകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു; അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ മുന് വശത്തു വിലങ്ങത്തില് പൊന് ചങ്ങല കൊളുത്തി അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരം പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

21. Solomon had all the inside of the house covered with gold, and he put chains of gold across in front of the inmost room, which itself was covered with gold.

22. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ആലയം ആസകലം പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു; അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരത്തിന്നുള്ള പീഠവും മുഴുവനും പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

22. Plates of gold were put all through the house till it was covered completely (and the altar in the inmost room was all covered with gold).

23. അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരത്തില് അവന് ഒലിവുമരംകൊണ്ടു പത്തു മുഴം ഉയരമുള്ള രണ്ടു കെരൂബുകളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

23. In the inmost room he made two winged beings of olive-wood, ten cubits high;

24. ഒരു കെരൂബിന്റെ ഒരു ചിറകു അഞ്ചു മുഴം, കെരൂബിന്റെ മറ്റെ ചിറകു അഞ്ചു മുഴം; ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരു ചിറകിന്റെ അറ്റം മുതല് മറ്റെ ചിറകിന്റെ അറ്റംവരെ പത്തു മുഴം.

24. With outstretched wings five cubits wide; the distance from the edge of one wing to the edge of the other was ten cubits.

25. മറ്റെ കെരൂബിന്നും പത്തു മുഴം; കെരൂബ് രണ്ടിന്നും അളവും ആകൃതിയും ഒന്നു തന്നേ.

25. The two winged ones were ten cubits high, of the same size and form.

26. ഒരു കെരൂബിന്റെ ഉയരം പത്തു മുഴം; മറ്റെ കെരൂബിന്നും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.

26. The two of them were ten cubits high.

27. അവന് കെരൂബുകളെ അന്തരാലയത്തിന്റെ നടുവില് നിര്ത്തി; കെരൂബുകളുടെ ചിറകു വിടര്ന്നിരുന്നു; ഒന്നിന്റെ ചിറകു ഒരു ചുവരോടും മറ്റേതിന്റെ ചിറകു മറ്റേ ചുവരോടും തൊട്ടിരുന്നു. ആലയത്തിന്റെ നടുവില് അവയുടെ ചിറകു ഒന്നോടൊന്നു തൊട്ടിരുന്നു.

27. These were placed inside the inner house, their outstretched wings touching the walls of the house, one touching one wall and one the other, while their other wings were touching in the middle.

28. കെരൂബുകളെയും അവന് പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

28. These winged ones were plated over with gold.

29. അന്തരാലയവും ബഹിരാലയവുമായ ആലയത്തിന്റെ ചുവരുകളിലെല്ലാം ചുറ്റും കെരൂബ്, ഈന്തപ്പന, വിടര്ന്ന പുഷ്പം എന്നിവയുടെ രൂപം കൊത്തി ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

29. And all the walls of the house inside and out were ornamented with forms of winged ones and palm-trees and open flowers.

30. അന്തരാലയവും ബഹിരാലയവുമായ ആലയത്തിന്റെ തളവും അവന് പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

30. And the floor of the house was covered with gold, inside and out.

31. അവന് അന്തര്മ്മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ വാതിലിന്നു ഒലിവുമരംകൊണ്ടു കതകു ഉണ്ടാക്കി; കുറമ്പടിയും കട്ടളക്കാലും ചുവരിന്റെ അഞ്ചില് ഒരു അംശമായിരുന്നു.

31. For the way into the inmost room he made doors of olive-wood, the arch and the door supports forming a five-sided opening.

32. ഒലിവ് മരം കൊണ്ടുള്ള കതകു രണ്ടിലും കെരൂബ്, ഈന്തപ്പന, വിടര്ന്ന പുഷ്പം എന്നിവയുടെ രൂപങ്ങള് കൊത്തി പൊന്നു പൊതിഞ്ഞു; കെരൂബുകളിലും ഈന്തപ്പനകളിലും പൊന്നു പൊതിഞ്ഞു

32. On the olive-wood doors were cut designs of winged ones and palm-trees and open flowers, all of them, with the doors, plated with gold.

33. അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ അവന് മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ വാതിലിന്നും ഒലിവുമരംകൊണ്ടു കട്ടള ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അതു ചുവരിന്റെ നാലില് ഒരംശമായിരുന്നു.

33. Then he made pillars of olive-wood for the way into the Temple; the pillars were square:

34. അതിന്റെ കതകു രണ്ടും സരളമരംകൊണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഒരു കതകിന്നു രണ്ടു മടകൂപാളിയും മറ്റെ കതകിന്നു രണ്ടു മടകൂപാളിയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

34. And two folding doors of cypress-wood, with two leaves.

35. അവന് അവയില് കെരൂബ്, ഈന്തപ്പന, വിടര്ന്ന പുഷ്പം എന്നിവയുടെ രൂപങ്ങളെ കൊത്തി രൂപങ്ങളുടെമേല് പൊന്നു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

35. These were ornamented with designs of winged ones and palm-trees and open flowers, plated over with gold.

36. അവന് അകത്തെ പ്രാകാരം ചെത്തിയ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു മൂന്നു വരിയും ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു വരിയുമായിട്ടു പണിതു.

36. And the inner space was walled with three lines of squared stones and a line of cedar-wood boards.

37. നാലാം ആണ്ടു സീവ് മാസത്തില് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നു അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇടുകയും പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടു എട്ടാം മാസമായ ബൂല് മാസത്തില് ആലയം അതിന്റെ സകലഭാഗങ്ങളുമായി അതിന്റെ മാതൃകപ്രകാരമൊക്കെയും പണിതുതീര്ക്കുംകയും ചെയ്തു. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ഏഴാണ്ടുകൊണ്ടു അതു പണിതുതീര്ത്തു.

37. In the fourth year the base of the house was put in its place, in the month Ziv.
