1. യെഹൂദയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്പേരെസ്, ഹെസ്രോന് , കര്മ്മി, ഹൂര്, ശോബല്.

1. The sons of Judah [were] Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.

2. ശോബലിന്റെ മകനായ രെയായാവു യഹത്തിനെ ജനപ്പിച്ചു; യഹത്ത് അഹൂമായിയെയും ലാഹദിനെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇവര് സോരത്യരുടെ കുലങ്ങള്.

2. And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath, and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These [were] the families of the Zorathites.

3. ഏതാമിന്റെ അപ്പനില് നിന്നുത്ഭവിച്ചവര് ഇവര്യിസ്രെയേല്, യിശ്മാ, യിദ്ബാശ്; അവരുടെ സഹോദരിക്കു ഹസ്സെലൊല്പോനി എന്നു പേര്.

3. These [were] the sons [of the father] of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister [was] Hazelelponi;

4. പെനൂവേല് ഗെദോരിന്റെ അപ്പനും, ഏസെര് ഹൂശയുടെ അപ്പനും ആയിരുന്നു. ഇവര് ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിന്റെ അപ്പനായ എഫ്രാത്തയുടെ ആദ്യജാതനായ ഹൂരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്.

4. and Penuel [was] the father of Gedor, and Ezer [was the] father of Hushah. These [were] the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah the father of Bethlehem.

5. തെക്കോവയുടെ അപ്പനായ അശ്ഹൂരിന്നു ഹേലാ, നയരാ എന്ന രണ്ടു ഭാര്യമാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

6. നയരാ അവന്നു അഹുസ്സാം, ഹേഫെര്, തേമനി, ഹായഹസ്താരി എന്നിവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. ഇവര് നയരയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്.

6. Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These [were] the sons of Naarah.

7. ഹേലയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്സേരെത്ത്, യെസോഹര്, എത്നാന് .

7. The sons of Helah [were] Zereth, Zohar, and Ethnan;

8. കോസ് ആനൂബിനെയും സോബേബയെയും ഹാരൂമിന്റെ മകനായ അഹര്ഹേലിന്റെ കുലങ്ങളെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

8. and Koz begot Anub, Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.

9. യബ്ബേസ് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെക്കാള് ഏറ്റവും മാന്യന് ആയിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ അമ്മഞാന് അവനെ വ്യസനത്തോടെ പ്രസവിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു യബ്ബേസ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

9. Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, 'Because I bore [him] in pain.'

10. യബ്ബേസ് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടുനീ എന്നെ നിശ്ചയമായി അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു എന്റെ അതിര് വിസ്താരമാക്കുകയും നിന്റെ കൈ എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു അനര്ത്ഥം എനിക്കു വ്യസനകാരണമായി തീരാതവണ്ണം എന്നെ കാക്കുകയും ചെയ്താല് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു. അവന് അപേക്ഷിച്ചതിനെ ദൈവം അവന്നു നല്കി.

10. And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, 'Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep [me] from evil, that I may not cause pain!' So God granted him what he requested.

11. Chelub the brother of Shuhah begot Mehir, who [was] the father of Eshton.

12. എസ്തോന് ബേത്ത്-രാഫയെയും പാസേഹയെയും ഈര്നാഹാസിന്റെ അപ്പനായ തെഹിന്നയെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇവര് രേഖാനിവാസികള് ആകുന്നു.

12. And Eshton begot Beth-Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir-Nahash. These [were] the men of Rechah.

13. കെനസ്സിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഒത്നീയേല്, സെരായാവു; ഒത്നീയേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഹഥത്ത്.

13. The sons of Kenaz [were] Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel [were] Hathath,

14. മെയോനോഥയി ഒഫ്രയെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; സെരായാവു ഗേ-ഹരാശീമിന്റെ അപ്പനായ യോവാബിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; അവര് കൌശലപ്പണിക്കാര് ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

14. and Meonothai [who] begot Ophrah. Seraiah begot Joab the father of Ge Harashim, for they were craftsmen.

15. യെഫുന്നെയുടെ മകനായ കാലേബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഈരൂ, ഏലാ, നായം; ഏലയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്കെനസ്.

15. The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh [were] Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah [was] Kenaz.

16. യെഹലലേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്സീഫ്, സീഫാ, തീര്യ്യാ, അസരെയേല്.

16. The sons of Jehallelel [were] Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

17. എസ്രയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്യേഥെര്, മേരെദ്, ഏഫെര്, യാലോന് എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു. അവള് മിര്യ്യാമിനെയും ശമ്മയെയും എസ്തെമോവയുടെ അപ്പനായ യിശ്ബഹിനെയും പ്രസവിച്ചു.

17. The sons of Ezrah [were] Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. And [Mered's wife bore] Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

18. (His wife Jehudijah bore Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Sochoh, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.) And these were the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

19. നഹമിന്റെ സഹോദരിയും ഹോദീയാവിന്റെ ഭാര്യയുമായവളുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഗര്മ്മ്യനായ കെയീലയുടെ അപ്പനും മയഖാത്യനായ എസ്തെമോവയും തന്നേ.

19. The sons of Hodiah's wife, the sister of Naham, [were] the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and of Eshtemoa the Maachathite.

20. ശീമോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്അമ്നോന് , രിന്നാ, ബെന് -ഹാനാന് , തീലോന് . യിശിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്സോഹേത്ത്, ബെന് -സോഹേത്ത്.

20. And the sons of Shimon [were] Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi [were] Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.

21. യെഹൂദയുടെ മകനായ ശേലയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ലേഖയുടെ അപ്പനായ ഏരും മാരേശയുടെ അപ്പനായ ലദയും ബേത്ത്-അശ്ബെയയില് ശണപടം നെയ്യുന്ന കൈത്തൊഴില്ക്കാരുടെ കുലങ്ങളും;

21. The sons of Shelah the son of Judah [were] Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of the linen workers of the house of Ashbea;

22. യോക്കീമും കോസേബാനിവാസികളും മോവാബില് അധികാരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന യോവാശ്, സാരാഫ് എന്നിവരും യാശുബീ-ലേഹെമും തന്നേ. ഇവ പുരാണവൃത്താന്തങ്ങള് അല്ലോ.

22. also Jokim, the men of Chozeba, and Joash; Saraph, who ruled in Moab, and Jashubi-Lehem. Now the records are ancient.

23. ഇവര് നെതായീമിലും ഗെദേരയിലും പാര്ത്ത കുശവന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നു; അവര് രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ അവന്റെ വേല ചെയ്വാന് അവിടെ പാര്ത്തു.

23. These [were] the potters and those who dwell at Netaim and Gederah; there they dwelt with the king for his work.

24. ശിമെയോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്നെമൂവേല്, യാമീന് , യാരീബ്, സേരഹ്, ശൌല്;

24. The sons of Simeon [were] Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, [and] Shaul,

25. അവന്റെ മകന് ശല്ലൂം; അവന്റെ മകന് മിബ്ശാം; അവന്റെ മകന് മിശ്മാ.

25. Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.

26. മിശ്മയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്അവന്റെ മകന് ഹമ്മൂവേല്; അവന്റെ മകന് സക്കൂര്; അവന്റെ മകന് ശിമെയി;

26. And the sons of Mishma [were] Hamuel his son, Zacchur his son, and Shimei his son.

27. ശിമെയിക്കു പതിനാറു പുത്രന്മാരും ആറു പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും അധികം മക്കളില്ലായ്കയാല് അവരുടെ കുലമെല്ലാം യെഹൂദാമക്കളോളം വര്ദ്ധിച്ചില്ല.

27. Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brothers did not have many children, nor did any of their families multiply as much as the children of Judah.

28. അവര് ബേര്-ശേബയിലും

28. They dwelt at Beersheba, Moladah, Hazar Shual,

29. മോലാദയിലും ഹസര്-ശൂവാലിലും ബില്ഹയിലും

29. Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad,

30. ഏസെമിലും തോലാദിലും ബെഥൂവേലിലും

30. Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,

31. ഹൊര്മ്മയിലും സിക്ളാഗിലും ബേത്ത്-മര്ക്കാബോത്തിലും ഹസര്-സൂസീമിലും ബേത്ത്-ബിരിയിലും ശയരയീമിലും പാര്ത്തു. ഇവ ദാവീദിന്റെ വാഴ്ചവരെ അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങള് ആയിരുന്നു.

31. Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These [were] their cities until the reign of David.

32. അവരുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങള്ഏതാം, അയീന് , രിമ്മോന് , തോഖെന് , ആശാന് ഇങ്ങനെ അഞ്ചു പട്ടണവും

32. And their villages [were] Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan -- five cities --

33. ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ ചുറ്റും ബാല്വരെ ഇവേക്കുള്ള സകലഗ്രാമങ്ങളും തന്നേ. ഇവ അവരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങള്. അവര്ക്കും സ്വന്തവംശാവലിയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

33. and all the villages that [were] around these cities as far as Baal. These [were] their dwelling places, and they maintained their genealogy:

34. മെശോബാബ്, യമ്ളേക്, അമസ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോശാ, യോവേല്,

34. Meshobab, Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah;

35. അസീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരായാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോശിബ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യേഹൂ, എല്യോവേനായി,

35. Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel;

36. യയക്കോബാ, യെശോഹായാവു, അസായാവു, അദീയേല്, യസീമീയേല്,

36. Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, and Benaiah;

37. ബെനായാവു, ശെമെയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ശിമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ യെദായാവിന്റെ മകനായ അല്ലോന്റെ മകനായ ശിഫിയുടെ മകനായ സീസാ;

37. Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah --

38. പേര് വിവരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഇവര് തങ്ങളുടെ കുലങ്ങളില് പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായിരുന്നു; അവരുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങള് ഏറ്റവും വര്ദ്ധിച്ചിരുന്നു.

38. these mentioned by name [were] leaders in their families, and their father's house increased greatly.

39. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടങ്ങള്ക്കു മേച്ചല് തിരയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഗെദോര്പ്രവേശനത്തോളം താഴ്വരയുടെ കിഴക്കുവശംവരെ യാത്രചെയ്തു.

39. So they went to the entrance of Gedor, as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

40. അവര് പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളതും നല്ലതുമായ മേച്ചല് കണ്ടെത്തി; ദേശം വിസ്താരവും സ്വസ്ഥതയും സമാധാനവും ഉള്ളതായിരുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ പൂര്വ്വനിവാസികള് ഹാംവംശക്കാരായിരുന്നു.

40. And they found rich, good pasture, and the land [was] broad, quiet, and peaceful; for some Hamites formerly lived there.

41. പേര്വിവരം എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഇവര് യെഹൂദ്യരാജാവായ യഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു അവിടെ ചെന്നു അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളെയും അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന മെയൂന്യരെയും ആക്രമിച്ചു, ഇന്നുവരെ അവര്ക്കും നിര്മ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തുകയും അവിടെ തങ്ങളുടെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടങ്ങള്ക്കു മേച്ചല് ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു അവര്ക്കും പകരം പാര്ക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

41. These recorded by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and they attacked their tents and the Meunites who were found there, and utterly destroyed them, as it is to this day. So they dwelt in their place, because [there was] pasture for their flocks there.

42. ശിമെയോന്യരായ ഇവരില് അഞ്ഞൂറുപേര്, യിശിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരായ, പെലത്യാവു, നെയര്യ്യാവു, രെഫായാവു, ഉസ്സീയേല് എന്നീ തലവന്മാരോടുകൂടെ സേയീര്പര്വ്വതത്തിലേക്കു യാത്രചെയ്തു.

42. Now [some] of them, five hundred men of the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir, having as their captains Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

43. അവര് അമാലേക്യരില് ചാടിപ്പോയിരുന്ന ശിഷ്ടജനത്തെ വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നു ഇന്നുവരെ അവിടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു.

43. And they defeated the rest of the Amalekites who had escaped. They have dwelt there to this day.
