1. ശലോമോന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള് ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീ ഇറങ്ങി ഹോമയാഗവും ഹനനയാഗവും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സും ആലയത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞു.

1. And when Salomon had made an end of praying, there came down fire from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices. And the glory of the LORD filled the house:

2. യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കടപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

2. that the priests could not go into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had fulfilled the house of the LORD.

3. തീ ഇറങ്ങിയതും ആലയത്തില് യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളൊക്കെയും കണ്ടപ്പോള് അവര് കല്ക്കളത്തില് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചുഅവന് നല്ലവന് അല്ലോ; അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു എന്നു ചൊല്ലി സ്തുതിച്ചു.

3. And all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down and the glory of the LORD upon the house, and stooped with their faces to the earth upon the pavement and bowed themselves and confessed unto the LORD, that he was good and that his mercy lasted ever.

4. പിന്നെ രാജാവും സര്വ്വജനവും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് യാഗംകഴിച്ചു.

4. And the king and all the people offered offerings before the LORD.

5. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു ഇരുപത്തീരായിരം കാളയെയും ഒരുലക്ഷത്തിരുപതിനായിരം ആടിനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ രാജാവും സര്വ്വജനവും ദൈവാലയത്തെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

5. So that king Salomon offered twenty two thousand oxen, and an hundredth and twenty thousand sheep. And so the king and all the people hallowed the house of God.

6. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഉദ്യോഗം അനുസരിച്ചും ലേവ്യര്അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര്മുഖാന്തരം ദാവീദ് സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്ത സമയത്തു യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിപ്പാന് ദാവീദ്രാജാവു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ യഹോവയുടെ വാദ്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടെയും നിന്നു; യിസ്രായേല് ഒക്കെയും നില്ക്കേ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് കാഹളം ഊതി.

6. And the priests waited on their offices, and the Levites with instruments of music of the LORD which king David made to confess unto the LORD that his mercy lasteth ever, when David gave praise thorow their hands. And the priests blew trumpets fast by them: and all Israel stood.

7. ശലോമോന് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന താമ്രയാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഹോമയാഗം, ഭോജനയാഗം, മേദസ്സ് എന്നിവ കൊള്ളാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പിലുള്ള പ്രാകാരത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യഭാഗം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു, അവിടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളുടെ മേദസ്സും അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

7. Moreover Salomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the LORD: for there he offered burntofferings and the fat of the peaceofferings, because the brazen altar which Salomon had made, was not able to receive the burntofferings and the meat offerings and the fat.

8. ശലോമോനും ഹമാത്തിന്റെ അതിര്മുതല് മിസ്രയീംതോടുവരേയുള്ള എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സഭയായി ആ സമയത്തു ഏഴു ദിവസം ഉത്സവം ആചരിച്ചു.

8. And Salomon kept a feast the same season of seven days, and all Israel with him, an exceeding great congregation, even from Hemath unto the river of Egypt.

9. എട്ടാം ദിവസം അവര് വിശുദ്ധസഭായോഗംകൂടി; ഏഴു ദിവസം അവര് യാഗപീഠപ്രതിഷ്ഠ കൊണ്ടാടി, ഏഴു ദിവസം ഉത്സവവും ആചരിച്ചു.

9. And the eighth day they made a gathering. For they kept the hallowing of the altar seven days and the feast seven days.

10. ഏഴാം മാസം ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നാം തീയ്യതി അവന് ജനത്തെ യഹോവ ദാവീദിന്നും ശലോമോന്നും തന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും ചെയ്ത നന്മയെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷവും ആനന്ദവും ഉള്ളവരായി അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിലേക്കു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

10. And the twenty third day of the seventh month, he let the people depart unto their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed to David, to Salomon and to Israel his people.

11. ഇങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയവും രാജധാനിയും തീര്ത്തു; യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും തന്റെ അരമനയിലും ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് ശലോമോന്നു താല്പര്യം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവന് ശുഭമായി നിവര്ത്തിച്ചു.

11. And so Salomon finished the house of the LORD and the king's house and all that came in his heart to make in the house of the LORD and in his own house, and that prosperously.

12. അതിന്റെശേഷം യഹോവ രാത്രിയില് ശലോമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാല്ഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു ഈ സ്ഥലം എനിക്കു യാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള ആലയമായിട്ടു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. And the LORD appeared to Salomon by night and said to him: I have heard thy petition and have chosen this place for myself to be an house of sacrifice.

13. മഴ പെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ആകാശം അടെക്കയോ ദേശത്തെ തിന്നു മുടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെട്ടുക്കിളിയോടു കല്പിക്കയോ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില് മഹാമാരി വരുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്താല്,

13. Moreover if I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people:

14. എന്റെ നാമം വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ജനം തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ താഴ്ത്തി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു എന്റെ മുഖം അന്വേഷിച്ചു തങ്ങളുടെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു തിരിയുമെങ്കില്, ഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു കേട്ടു അവരുടെ പാപം ക്ഷമിച്ചു അവരുടെ ദേശത്തിന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തിക്കൊടുക്കും.

14. yet if my people that are named after my name, shall humble themselves and make intercession and seek my presence, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and be merciful to their sins, and will heal their land.

15. ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു കഴിക്കുന്ന പ്രാര്ത്ഥനെക്കു എന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നിരിക്കയും എന്റെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

15. Thereto mine eyes shall be open and mine ears attent unto the prayers made in this place.

16. എന്റെ നാമം ഈ ആലയത്തില് എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് അതിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയും എന്റെ ഹൃദയവും എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കും.

16. And finally I have chosen and sanctified this house, that my name be there for ever, and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

17. നീയോ നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ്,നടന്നതുപോലെ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നടക്കയും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്കയും എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടക്കയും ചെയ്താല്,

17. And if thou shalt walk before me as David thy father walked, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe mine ordinances and my laws:

18. യിസ്രായേലില് വാഴുവാന് നിനക്കു ഒരു പുരുഷന് ഇല്ലാതെവരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഞാന് നിന്റെ രാജാസനത്തെ സ്ഥിരമാക്കും.

18. then I will stablish the seat of thy kingdom, according to the covenant I made with David thy father, saying: thou shalt have ever one or other that shall rule in Israel.

19. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് തിരിഞ്ഞു, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും ചെന്നു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്താല്,

19. But and if ye turn away and forsake mine ordinances and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods and bow yourselves to them:

20. ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും കൊടുത്ത എന്റെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു അവരെ പറിച്ചുകളയും; എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നായി ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആലയത്തെയും ഞാന് എന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയില് ഒരു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും പരിഹാസവും ആക്കിത്തീര്ക്കും.

20. then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them, and will cast this house which I have sanctified for my name out of my sight, and will make a proverb and a tale of it among all nations.

21. ഈ ആലയം എത്ര ഉന്നതമായിരുന്നാലും കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവനും അതിനെപ്പറ്റി സ്തംഭിച്ചുയഹോവ ഈ ദേശത്തിന്നും ഈ ആലയത്തിന്നും ഇങ്ങനെ വരുത്തുവാന് സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കും.

21. And this house that is so high, shall be a wonder to all that passeth thereby that they shall say: why hath the LORD dealt on this fashion with this land and with this house?

22. അതിന്നു അവര്തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അവര് ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും അന്യദൈവങ്ങളോടു ചേര്ന്നു അവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവന് ഈ അനര്ത്ഥമൊക്കെയും അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയും.

22. And it shall be answered then, because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and caught hold on other gods, and bowed to them and served them: even therefore brought he on them all this evil.
