1. ഇയ്യോബ് പിന്നെയും സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിയതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And Job continued the lifting up of his discourse, and said:

2. അയ്യോ പണ്ടത്തെ മാസങ്ങളിലെപ്പോലെ ദൈവം എന്നെ കാത്തുപോന്ന നാളുകളിലെപ്പോലെ ഞാന് ആയെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.

2. Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God watched over me;

3. അന്നു അവന്റെ ദീപം എന്റെ തലെക്കു മീതെ പ്രകാശിച്ചു; അവന്റെ വെളിച്ചത്താല് ഞാന് ഇരുട്ടില് കൂടി നടന്നു

3. when His lamp shone on my head, when I walked through darkness by His light;

4. എന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സഖ്യത ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും സര്വ്വശക്തന് എന്നോടുകൂടെ വസിക്കയും.

4. as I was in the days of my harvest, when the intimacy with God was on my tent;

5. എന്റെ മക്കള് എന്റെ ചുറ്റും ഇരിക്കയും ചെയ്ത എന്റെ ശുഭകാലത്തിലെപ്പോലെ ഞാന് ആയെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.

5. when the Almighty was yet with me and my children were around me;

6. അന്നു ഞാന് എന്റെ കാലുകളെ വെണ്ണകൊണ്ടു കഴുകി; പാറ എനിക്കു തൈലനദികളെ ഒഴുക്കിത്തന്നു.

6. when I washed my steps with curds, and the rock poured out rivers of oil for me;

7. ഞാന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു പടിവാതില്ക്കല് ചെന്നു. വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തു എന്റെ ഇരിപ്പിടം വേക്കുമ്പോള്

7. when I went out to the gate by the city; when I prepared my seat in the street.

8. യൌവനക്കാര് എന്നെ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഒളിക്കും; വൃദ്ധന്മാര് എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിലക്കും.

8. The young men saw me and hid themselves; the aged rose up, stood up;

9. പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് സംസാരം നിര്ത്തി, കൈകൊണ്ടു വായ്പൊത്തും.

9. the rulers held back with words, and they laid a hand on their mouth;

10. ശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാരുടെ ശബ്ദം അടങ്ങും; അവരുടെ നാവു അണ്ണാക്കോടു പറ്റും.

10. the leaders' voice was hidden; yea, their tongue clung to the roof of their mouth.

11. എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ട ചെവി എന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തും; എന്നെ കണ്ട കണ്ണു എനിക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം നലകും.

11. For the ear heard, and blessed me; and the eye saw, and witnessed for me.

12. നിലവിളിച്ച എളിയവനെയും അനാഥനെയും തുണയറ്റവനെയും ഞാന് വിടുവിച്ചു.

12. For I delivered the poor who cried for help and the orphan who had no helper to him.

13. നശിക്കുമാറായവന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം എന്റെ മേല് വന്നു; വിധവയുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ഞാന് സന്തോഷം കൊണ്ടു ആര്ക്കുംമാറാക്കി.

13. The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I made the widow's heart to sing.

14. ഞാന് നീതിയെ ധരിച്ചു; അതു എന്റെ ഉടുപ്പായിരുന്നു; എന്റെ ന്യായം ഉത്തരീയവും തലപ്പാവും പോലെയായിരുന്നു.

14. I put on righteousness and it clothed me; my judgment was like a robe and a diadem.

15. ഞാന് കുരുടന്നു കണ്ണും മുടന്തന്നു കാലും ആയിരുന്നു.

15. I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame.

16. ദരിദ്രന്മാര്ക്കും ഞാന് അപ്പനായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് അറിയാത്തവന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം പരിശോധിച്ചു.

16. I was father to the poor, and the cause which I did not know, I searched out.

17. നീതികെട്ടവന്റെ അണപ്പല്ലു ഞാന് തകര്ത്തു; അവന്റെ പല്ലിന് ഇടയില്നിന്നു ഇരയെ പറിച്ചെടുത്തു.

17. I broke the fangs of the perverse, and cast the prey out of his teeth.

18. എന്റെ കൂട്ടില്വെച്ചു ഞാന് മരിക്കും; ഹോല്പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെ ഞാന് ദീര്ഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

18. Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply days like the sand.

19. എന്റെ വേര് വെള്ളത്തോളം പടര്ന്നുചെല്ലുന്നു; എന്റെ കൊമ്പിന്മേല് മഞ്ഞു രാപാര്ക്കുംന്നു.

19. My root was open to the waters, and the dew lay all night on my branch.

20. എന്റെ മഹത്വം എന്നില് പച്ചയായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ വില്ലു എന്റെ കയ്യില് പുതുകുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

20. My glory was fresh with me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.

21. മനുഷ്യര് കാത്തിരുന്നു എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കും; എന്റെ ആലോചന കേള്പ്പാന് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കും.

21. They listened to me and waited, and kept silence for my counsel.

22. ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചശേഷം അവര് മിണ്ടുകയില്ല; എന്റെ മൊഴി അവരുടെമേല് ഇറ്റിറ്റു വീഴും.

22. After my words, they did not go on, and my speech dropped on them.

23. മഴെക്കു എന്നപോലെ അവര് എനിക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കും; പിന്മഴെക്കെന്നപോലെ അവര് വായ്പിളര്ക്കും.

23. And they waited for me like the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

24. അവര് നിരാശപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് അവരെ നോക്കി പുഞ്ചിരിയിടും; എന്റെ മുഖപ്രസാദം അവര് മങ്ങിക്കയുമില്ല.

24. I laughed on those when they did not believe, and they did not make the light of my face to fall.

25. ഞാന് അവരുടെ വഴി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു തലവനായിട്ടു ഇരിക്കും; സൈന്യസഹിതനായ രാജാവിനെപ്പോലെയും ദുഃഖിതന്മാരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനെപ്പോലെയും ഞാന് വസിക്കും;

25. I chose out their way, and sat as chief; and I lived like a king among the troops; as the mourners, and he who comforts.
